Just had a scan through the entire market on coinmarketcap... wow!

Almost entire market is up double digits in the last 24h, coins and tokens.

There is a lot of discussion around which coins are the right choice but I think one thing is for sure, we are in the right place people.
The digital asset market finally here and right now is the perfect time to be in, 2018 will be our year!

Yep, there is a lot new money coming in crypto, total market cap is over $550 bil. Also, investor are finally trying to diversify their portfolio, that's why most of altcoins and tokens are also rising, not only Bitcoin as it was in the past few months.

The first target of the total market cap is one trillion dollars. We're still away from it 2x rate. This means, any coin in the market will potentially rise 2x in USD value price. But bull markets don't last forever.

Bull markets don't last forever but I would compare this to the dotcom bubble. I think we are all early adopters and investors so even when this bull run ends the bear market won't ever bring it back down past the value it is now. For us now this is a no brainer for future value.

The bull market doesn't last forever since there are ups and downs for every trend. But it might be a really good start for 2018 since the price of Bitcoin have now started to increase. Altcoins have been increasing in price recently but are seeing dips now. This might be a sign that people are moving from altcoins to Bitcoin since there is a small spike in its price. Let's wait and see what 2018 brings us. I really hope the price gets doubled by mid year.

What? You mean bull market has not even started yet? I don't think so I think we are in last stage of bull market right now, and bear market will be scary.

second that.  This fiesta won't last untill feb.  It's time to scare the new kids on the block again  ;D  Sharks are after panic sells.  Expect >40% drop and it will happen so fast and massive, you're going to eat your shoes you can't enter the exchanges since they will be all down.

My target is an overall 10-20% gain and I'm out for a while (on most, not on IOTA and ETH)

No one ever said it hasn't started it yet. I'm saying its a fledgling market, meaning bull runs will be longer than bear runs. So in the long run anything invested will have a net gain.

As for this bull run, I think it is over for major coins but is still mid stream for minor and new coins/tokens.

Just look at the evidence.

BTC boomed, then ETH,m then XRP then LTC. This market tends to move down the ladder in a knock on effect.

Well I disagree I don't think it is a bull market right now we finished that run in July or so of this year and it yet to come back. I do agree however though that 2018 will be another year of awesome success following such a powerful 2017 growth. Don't hold your breathe for a 40x though in growth a 10-20x would be amazing.

The bitcoin market had its rally in 2017 and during that time the entire alt coin market was having a bad time as all the tokens went down and now i hope that the alt coin market will recover and start its rally in the coming years and i have invested a good amount of coins in some of the major projects and i have taken a huge hit when it comes to profit because the alt coin market was not rising and now some of the tokens started rising and i hope that 2018 we would see the entire market going above a trillion dollar.

How c\n you disagree, its not a matter of opinion its a matter of fact. Look at the increase in value of every single token and altcoin over the last month. The whole market is up, the definition of a bull market.

The bull market is exhausted, we'll soon see the correction. Next week when the enthusiasm for CME futures has calmed down, the price of bitcoin will go down for sure. The price could fall back to 14K or maybe lower. The big investors will start to cash out and the big dump will start. Next year the price will go up again.

I simply see too many projects consisting in a website and a litecoin clone blockchain raising tens of millions dollars market caps... That's objectively insane, people are pouring money in everything comes to their hands, I think at least in most of altcoins bear market will come soon.

Bitcoin will be above $50K in early 2018 before a crash, and market is going to crash once we are full of newcomers, then lots of suffering until 2020. Agree or not?

Its just a begining of story,  total m.cap increasing 50 bilion +  per day. It stops?? No,  coins everywhere,  TV,  News,  Radio,  newspaper,  everyone want to have their own coins and hold for future. This is good for us &  the projects becouse they got funds for work!

Cash out to fiat and pay the tax man or into the altcoins market for a second turn on the merry-go-round..

At least the gains were made in the sitting and not by working. I would very much prefer making money while just watching my screen. lol

This might not last long during new year there is going to be a huge dump and by huge i mean really huge. Alts will crash as usual but there are sources claiming the btc will fall back to $10k. Obviously it won't stay till that price and will get pumped quickly but still it's a point to note.

The current situation is really favourable situation for all the coins. It's better to put stop loss if you have any major holdings no one needs to have a sad moment on new year.

Everything is pumping now it is scaring me. Wondering whether to cash some out now to be on the safe side. Everyone keeps saying it will continue to 2018 so that is stopping me from selling.

Let wait for a few week before coming to that conclusion.

Yeah better to do a preemptive move than to feel sorry in the end. A huge dump would probably crash unstable altcoins.

Some people with huge wallets entered market so its quite normal to see bull run. It might be little bit scary as its hard to guess where this is going to stop, but it will eventually stop. Enjoy as it lasts!

Really surprise to see this green day almost all the tokens on top 100 are in green, I still don't think the bull run is confirmed because i still feel there is still some negative sentiment against altcoins market currently

does it mean that everyone had dumb their token and coins in 2017 are very very in a danger spot haha, or it is the only beginning before btc got a Hundred of dollars , cheers to everyone I love the OP  ;D

No stress, just a bit tired to move stop-limit border higher and higher for my coins (learn the lesson hard way, as newbie, anyway, binance implemented stop-limit just week ago) ;D

Yeah, and if we base the price rise on the effect of new money, and diversification, then I think we can expect the entire 2018 to be the same. Even more new money, and newer money from old money going into alts to hedge their Bitcoin bets. Can you imagine what new investors did for Litecoin when they finally found out about it? So now the trick is,,, which new coin will be attractive to newcomers? Let us not talk about technology, but talk about what speaks to investors. I think they liked the fact that LTC's dev was someone they knew, someone smart, and whose dev community is not split.

I believe that 2018 is going to be great years for crypto market and I am speculating that coinmarketcap  might get to  $1,000,000,000,000 as many big financial markets players are getting interest into crypto currencies market. Bitcoin the leading and the power of others altcoins has opened our eyes to see the potential of what crytocurrencies can do for us and for those that has the mind to buy and hold, the returned that we have gotten from the market This year 2017.

Days like the recent ones are great for the value of our portfolios but not good for the whole. When the whole market pumps like such it is clear there is no real reason behind it except for positive sentiment and when the pump doesn't continue the dump will ensue.

These futures drove BTC price crazy and I hate that. And also the period before Christmas will more likely be bullish all the time... Maybe market will turn to bearish soon after New Year... Just my guess.

Unlike ordinary markets, a price variation from 40% up to 100% from one day to the next is perfectly possible in this crypto market.

This is true, but I would say a price variation could be from 25% to 200% or more(!) from one day to the next.

We should expect drop  in near future , but at what level who knows.
Few months ago someone said that crypto's part in world assets is about 0.2% and about 15-20 million people doing crypto's.
Those numbers are little bit higher, but there is a big potential don't you agree

I think it will come to the massive correction when biggest ICOs with hundreds of millions dollars will scam their investors plus some bigger exchanges will been hacked. Arests people by FBI and SEC will have massive impact on this too. But right now it seems like a bull market anyway there is not enough bad news for the bears.

But in 2018 year all market can be red, because nothing can rise new levels without falling

I think it will be at early of the Year but after most of market will grow by March or by May..

Bitcoin struggles with big round number again, another patch of futures go live shortly, I expect same result as last time - BTC will be 23k+ by the end of the day Monday

If you enjoy the bull run,expect the bear market too,the price of bitcoin is having a good run but the alt coin market was silent throughout the year and i do expect that to change soon and i would like to see the alt coin market rally after this,the signs right now a really good and i hope the alt coin rally will continue.

Bitcoin and alts are all looking good. After some initial volatility during CME
futures launch, all these should head back up soon.

This run has still not touched the levels reached at the end of May and 1st week of June this year.  The USD value is way up for altcoins but the bitcoin value is still less than 50% for a lot of altcoins from the last bull run.  2018 is going to be interesting, will we carry these prices into 2018 for momentum who knows.

Everything is starting to pull itself back up after the bulldozer of BTC ploughed its way through. Let's remember that the tide has risen all ships in the sea as BTC rose.

Doesn't it seem that in a bull market, any coin you buy would be up? 

The question is, what to do, when big correction starts. Convert all altcoins to bitcoin/litecoin or get out money and wait to buy back?

The market right now is hard to predict. There was so much new money coming in the last weeks and no end in sight.
With xmas ahead, i believe the bull run will last till the end of December (at least!).

A bear market could then only be prevented by very positive news.

Those might be the last two coins you want to have your money in when the big correction comes (if it comes)

Besides cashing out, what would be a good coin to keep my investments in during the correction?

People are just stacking up their money before the new year. Currently, altcoins have in favor today and many of it increases dramatically. The profit from altcoin were really big today, so grad it until bitcoin is dropping quite a bit. I have already invested some of my favorite altcoin that are not yet pump from the this last quarter.

This is nothing. The real bullish trend is not yet started.
The price of altcoins are still lower than they are 5 6 months ago. Compare each of them btcwise. Most of them needs to make at least x5 to recover back to its price 6 month ago.

I believe that this bull run is just another game of whales) They want to strengthen community's faith in crypto to make a huge panic and dump the market after.

I don't think so because Bitcoin already created a lot of hype when it crossed $10K and more hype after reaching $20k but now it's retraced a bit but still we are in need of a long healthy correction because nothing will go up forever especially in cryptos.

The sooner to start your portfolio the better,  I remember seeing some older coins on a chart with a one year timeline, there is still a lot of money to be made.

I think this is almost same scenario and same thinking people have on previous years the only difference is the number of believers of cryptocurrency and more choice of which coin to investment in.

2017 is the year when crypto finally arrived. There's no looking back. 2018 will start the new revolution. We need everyone to get on board before if will take off next year. Bitcoins and altcoins and the whole crypto will explode next year.

Lots of nations will go against it, but there are a few who will become bitcoin friendly. So it will be a continuing tug of war but we are unstoppable. So its either you are with or or against us. If they choose otherwise then its there fault. They will be left out in the closet.

They really are and it seems all the alts are really just busy doubling while some are even going more than triple. It would have been a very good year if some of us really considered holding some of the alts with a lot of them even having more than 5000% increase in just this year alone. I bet a lot of elites have been created thus far and many more are going to be created in the long run.

It is really a bull market. It is obvious the bulls are reigning right now and a lot of alts are really doing very well with their prices and in marketcap. Still, it has been a really profitable year for those who were fortunate enough to start and the market that would still continue that bull run is still unknown for now, but there are still some undervalued markets and I am sure those will really be the good one to hop into right now.

Hope we see now a time of side movement. For a stable Future and for Ico projects wich wouldnt get crushed from the big players anymore.

There is a strong push for the entire crypto market. You can see the altcoin has fallen for a long time being raised back in a very powerful way. This is a good sign of the market as large capital flows are coming in. I look forward to a stronger year in 2018, which will be the boom of new coin with new features and widespread practical application.

More than the roadmap I believe privacy coins in general will be a hot commodity.  As traction is gained by the coin community and the community FINALLY realizes that it's more beneficial to have these coins become the new "FIAT" instead of trading back for worthless fiat, governments will crackdown at the behest of the banking systems that control them.  The banking systems have been able to encroach upon lives by perceived necessity for a long time now.  If ever there has been a roadblock to this it has been removed (See the US Gold Recall, The "greenback," Ghaddafi...).  The only problem with privacy coins is that their removal will be... difficult if not impossible.  The regulations will come.  We can see the precursors to it now.  (Korea has proposed a ban on foreign Btc investors from public markets.  Markets are banning trade to US citizens in marketplaces.)  If financial freedom is at all a concern of yours... this is the way to go... and sooner than later.

2018 will be really going to be an interesting year for a lot of these alts.
They were suppressed enough with the lot of activities that took place with bitcoin this year and with upcoming years, I can imagine how some of these alts are really going to be having a swell time trying to have a top position in the market and just some few ones with some good products and solid team will last anyway but they are really worth holding.

Expect this to happen always, as long as the market exists.
