I was looking around at some altcoins. Been following ETC progress for a while now. Its slowly but steadily rising. Good investment maybe?

Ethereum classic need more time, it is always better to invest in the original Ethereum because people still trust it more than the classic version.  

Yeah. ETC will still take while. But then again BTC took a while. And ETC blockchain is about as useful as ETH blockchain.

How is that though, seems to me like ethereum is moving in directions while eth classic is staying behind.

We need to see more from the team. They passed a good year in 2017 by makin an icrease 10 or 15 times. The next year is still surprise for ethereum classic. We need to wait and see the result whether it will go up to $50.

ETC is one of the top cryptos in market cap, as such it should be part of any diversified crypto portfolio in my opinion. However it has not done enough to differentiate itself from ETH, yet.

I don't think they are staying behind. They are moving forward and updating. But just like mentioned before, the crypto community still is a little bit cautious when it comes to ETC. So they don't have as much coverage as ETH.

Ethereum Classic is just a copy of ethereum, it can not do anything, because all the smart contracts are being runned with Ethereum, not with ETC.

That is probably the main utility of ethereum, and if you can not do the same with ethereum classic, tell me, is it worth it?

Of course that it is not.

It is going up because all the speculators who are investing in there are thinking that it will spike just like the scenario between bitcoin and bitcoin cash a few months before.

You can develop Dapps on ETC just as well as you can develop Dapps on ETH.

Rather ETH was ETC copy by hard fork. And now they develop other ways not copy/paste. Different teams, different roadmap, different goals. Why you say that ETC bad fork?

I use to think ETC was just wasting it's time and should let it go. This was formed by price and marketing mainly due to not researching it.
So now I'm going to research ETC.
Now I think ETH has grown past its use and the original may now start to come back into favour.
I can't listen to skinny-boy Vitalik talk as I judge him on his looks, youth, and lisp, again proving my initial shallowness ("initially" but it is me searching the vast crypto landscape for something that interests me and then I dig deeper) But they have created a slow (kitties Network killer) Centralised (Vitalik was able to stop trading and rollback the chain to get back hacked tokens), insecure (Smart contract code lost millions and moving to POS which is less secure than POW) network that has no cap. I.e. "ether is capped at 18 million ether per year"

I sincerely hope that the ETC will have growth following the ETH. I am holding them.

Ethereum is definitely a good investment and I am sure its price will definitely increase in future.  You can see nowadays daily many ICOs are popping up and all these  ICOs  use ethereum platform to build their tokens and smart contracts. So obviously its price will increase and I am sure that its a good investment if you consider for long term investment.

and i think ethereum is still to be strong and indeed in the few months to come with the new year it will raise and gain a respectable price.

Etc rising is always slowly, if u are patient invest to etc but i think u can find better altcoin like Ark, Komodo and Genesis Vision. This for short time will have big pump.

It is not a bad decision, look at the charts, the price was less than two dollars each when those coins were forked and distributed on the exchanges.


So everybody who received those coins for free, almost the half of those people sold them out (just like it happened with bitcoin cash at the beggining)

But who knew that it was going to be over $35 by today? No one.

Don't see any reasons why ETC price should increase dramatically in the upcoming future. They follow the same updates as ETH does and just copy their work without adding anything new. A really useless fork if you'd ask me.

Not bad investment for one week, but in January it will go down

Confident by 99 per cent that this coin will grow very soon in value because it is one of the top coins that have not been pumped for a long time in the price.

Ethereum is still king over ETC. ETC will never overtake it. Ethereum is hands down better in terms of from an overall perspective, Ethereum Classic is essentially just a knockoff and ETH is the real deal supported by big governments around the world (mainly Russia actually).

It's now in stead-state phase of the development and the price follows this silently. Once we get an important update from ether team, we will see a crazy price movement from it, it will probably make two times improvement in the price.

Nah not ETC try directly ETH, is better and safest than ETC.

So I think so too. Now all the coins are growing in turn, and I think in the nearest time the turn will reach to him

i think that it will definitely go to 1000$ in bext 30days but after that i do not know.

Ethereum has always been a good coin to invest if you looking for something less volatile as bitcoin and lately it has gone up but not to the level i expected...thought it was going to be fetching not less than $1000 by now30 days is way to far for a gain of a plus $400, bitcoin in that same time frame will be up by another 1000 dollars

Yes, I've also noticed it, i was so disappointed because i  sell all my ETC 1day before it rise again.

Yeah. ETC is a long investment in that sense. I believe it will rise. Not exponentially to begin with. But once more Dapps are developed, perhaps. Who knows.

ETC coin will grown up price but no one to known exacly when or times!

ETC has a strange explosion growing, hard to trade on it, but you can invest for middle term

I think etc is kind of danger to invest now because the price has been rising quite long, etc only rising because of the pumping and rely on trading transaction volume, it's not used in any site, so I think you need to reconsider or you need to wait for a very long term to get profit

I played with ETC sometimes in the middle of these year and then I moved out from the market once it started going down around 13$.... I will I held them :-(

It's definitely for long term investment. They have more leeway in terms of blockchain updates. And i think if they decide to go PoS, the price will go up further i think.

A lot of people did the same, it is not your fault, who was going to know that this forked coin was going to be over $34 at some point? Probably no one.
I sold mine at $16 too, i was not expecting to see it going over $30 at the end of the year, lmao.

Ethereum classic just a fork token from ethereum, that would not be surprised to see the price of the fork will be steadily increased to follow the real token. but there is no actual use of this kind of coin rather than become another pump and dump in exchange site. The fact there are so many coins were offering a better service than it.
The ETC fans do not know about that.

I would say very good. Yes, the price certainly does not correspond to a little, but the trading activity is frenzied, which means it is valued and respected. So act without hesitation and doubt.

I think ethereum platform is really coming of age. The price was very steady during bitcoin value surge and the steady rise is organic, devoid of hype or fear or pump.

I think that's why I have to invest in it if in the future I want to get more profit. Because it grows at least slowly but surely.

Its been interesting for Ethereum and all its investors, because Ethereum has been steadily rising as you said. It seems to have found a steady base at the 650-700 mark by its slowly rising and then dipping back down again. It will possibly do this until the end of the year, until it goes up to $1K by January 2018.

ETC is good for long term hodl. Yep, it's steady as of today. Soon it will pump to 100 USD :) We don't know when. Better to buy and hodl now and wait for the time to pump.

Ethereum is fork actually. ETC continue native blockchain from genesis block. May be they haven't such marketing, volumes, teams as Eth. But they work and do roadmap. I'm not ETC fan but we need to be impartial

I think ETC still depends on ETH. But ETH has more prospects. Vitalik Buterin has created a good strategy for the development of his crypto currency. And the transition to PoS will give a boost to growth.

I actually hodl an equal value of both, whenever i add to my ETH stack i add the same dollar value in ETC. been wokring pretty well :P

Ethereum will be on a steady rise for sure, since its the best Altcoin of all. Ethereum is in fact a less volatile coin than the rest.
It's also very much in common with Bitcoin from the stable point of you, and that it will climb eventually, i truly believe that it will reach $1k by early January.

This is exactly the reason that ETH will rise to $1000.

In fact, because of the success of ETH, many people have given up the ETC., but their functions are similar, so ETC has great potential.

You want more profit, why not invest in ICO? Investment ICO can obviously make more profit.

Its good for long term investment if your really a ethereum fan then you can invest on ethereum classic for long term but for short term profit you cant predict even i dont now i am splitting my fund to longest existing coins as well newest good potential coins .

In fact, for me, any coin that just keeps rising without some news behind it or the reason for the rise, then it is just being pumped, most especially for a coin that has not really been in the limelight. ETC still have a chance to grow just like any other coin and even though it may be a copy of Ethereum, that does not mean the devs cannot get to make it run better. It has a very good chance of even competing, if things go well for this coin and if the devs are pretty active, so I will not throw it aside.

We really can't tell when the pumped will happen but we seen it before that there's support from behind, maybe big investors are just preparing
for the right time and start buying and holding the coins so value will rise up and more investors will come and show interest.

Ya...etc are rising steady...etc will become next litecoin...
Etc will go to moon, same like litecoin.
Currently litecoin $320, etc $37...
Time will give you the answer.

To be frank we always get jumbled in with he different crypto currencies here. The market is too big to trust on the single entity. You will never ever know which coin is going to pop in the future as there is always good development chances for the different projects and the tokens associated with it.

ETC is nothing else but the forked coin of the ETH and who knows developers might just be looking into its further upgrades. So it could happen that ETC will be spiked sooner than we think.

We were always in the ambiguity whether the LTC will ever rise or not and when it was far down below in the rates then people never looked at it with the confidence and what they did was just to see and make false comments about it. Now juts look around us LTC is like a lion with jungle safari. So same thing could happen with the ETC, what you can do is juts invest some affordable amount into it and forget about it until it rises to your desires!

That's my plan actually. Lol. Though I'm more interested in developing on it. If I am any good that is.

There's some other coins steadily rising more than ETC, like monero and litecoin. Invest in ETC might not be a bad idea but investing in ETH is better.

Yeah it is showing some movement since few days now but this could be the after effect of all the alt coins where they are going up in the market cap and ETC is not. Now for ETC to maintain the optimum position in the coinamretcap list it has to start growing itself and make a move into the price. 

There’re many more coins which are already having golden period now and if in this scenario ETC try to catch up the good rates then it may fail because its already too much for the other coins and ETC stands little chance of getting attracted. So you see here, ETC will grow but it will take time and I don’t think this is pretty golden period for us to invest into it. Its prices could be lower than what we are seeing currently. Its always advisable to invest into those coins which are in buzz currently and are really in the good stages of the development. If they are doing well then ETC has to wait if it wants to catch up the investors attention. :-)

ETC is a good investment for sure
since they announced the Summit it became a good investment, and after wtaching the summit it became even better investment
it will moon sometimes like the other coins did

Yeah, I would not even discard the opportunity of any alt growing in the long run. We have seen so many increase on some alts this year after a long time and I am sure ETC would have some of that for it later on. It is an investment that is worth keeping in one's portfolio anyway, and just like you said, the blockchain is as useful as ETH, and there could really be some room for growth and improvement in value later on.

It is just a matter of patience. Come on! It took most of these coins some time to grow. Look at BTC, it did not just grow over night and for ETC, we have still have a lot of years ahead for the coin. For a long term investment though, as long as a coin shows sign of viability, I really do not discard it. Even Litecoin had its years of drag before seeing some pretty huge increase for it at the end of this year.

It is never too late to invest anyway. I am actually surprised that it has really done well so far at this late hour stage of the year as I expected that it would take some time before it can start seeing some huge interest in the market, but it is of course a good investment with the hopes of having some good run in the upward trend later on.

I think investing in a rising currency is a very risky situation, may suddenly fall. be a little more patient and Wait for etc to lose value
