running the qt bitcoin wallet client what if i forget my pin i have also incrypted it with a password so if i forget the pin will the password save my ass????? If you forget the password you will not be able to access the wallet and the bitcoins contained in that wallet (because that is where all of the secret keys for the addresses are stored).

Even if you gotta write it down on paper and put it in a safe, always make sure you have some way to remember it, otherwise you will lose out on all your coins being worth anything. :)
