What Is The Digitex Futures Exchange

Hi! This exchange looks promising.. I took a look at the video, it reminds me a little bit of EtherDelta, but I'm still intrigued by the zero fees and the idea of being able to use bots for trading within the exchange without having to sign-up for third-party services. Good luck!

thanks mate :) Yes there will be zero transaction fees on all trades, maker or taker, because the exchange covers its costs through new token issuance instead. This is possible because DGTX tokens are the native currency of the exchange in which all account balances and trading profits/losses are denominated, and therefore they are in demand from traders who want to trade with zero trading costs. Other futures exchanges that have account balances denominated in Bitcoin cannot utilize token issuance and must use transaction fees to generate revenue, which penalize active traders and stifle liquidity by discouraging trading activity.

But there ain't shit for free - new token issuance comes at a cost of a small inflation rate on the value of DGTX tokens which is borne collectively by all DGTX token owners. For example, if we need to create 50 million new DGTX tokens in a year to cover costs, this is a 5% increase in the DGTX supply of one billion DGTX tokens which will theoretically cause a 5% drop in the value of DGTX.

However, this small inflation rate of a few percent is what pays for a highly liquid futures exchange with no trading costs whatsoever. Such an exchange will attract thousands of traders who must own DGTX tokens to participate, and this demand for tokens will create a DGTX price rise far greater than the 5% that it cost to create that demand.

DGTX token owners will vote through a system of Decentralized Governance by Blockchain to determine how many new DGTX tokens must be created each year to cover costs. This way, it is the DGTX token owners themselves who are determining the inflation rate they are happy with in order to fund the exchange which provides the utility and demand for the DGTX token.

Seems like a pretty good idea. But how do you plan to control the circulation of tokens if you keep minting for every transaction.  Where is the accountability in that? I'm comparing this to Fiat where there is at least a measure of control in the printing of currencies. How do you establish and maintain the value of your token?

When are you going to distribute the token you've promised to referrers? In your website you stated that you will give 1,000 DGTX tokens for every referrals, 10,000 DGTX for 10 referrals, 25,000 for 25 referrals, 50,000 DGTX for 50 referrals and 100,000 DGTX for 100 referrals. Until I have referred 25 traders, you sent me email saying that you will get 25,000 DGTX. But lately you deleted that statement in your website. As of today I have 62 referrals, my question is, Shall I receive 62,000 DGTX for my 62 referrals or not? Because if not, I will stop promoting this. I just want a clear answer.  Thank you!

Yes being able to trade without any commissions is huge, especially when you're trading very short term, so this will attract a higher number of very short term traders which will create very liquid futures markets. Liquid markets will in turn attract more traders. And the more traders there are, the greater the demand for DGTX tokens and the higher its price will climb. Commissions are a massive brake on markets and removing them completely could create some amazing markets where traders of all sizes can actually make a profit with no edge at all working against them.

By using the DGTX token as its native currency in which all account balances and tick values are denominated in, the Digitex Futures Exchange can generate the revenue needed to keep the lights on by creating a small number of new tokens each years instead of charging transaction fees on trades. This is a brand new futures exchange model that removes the cost burden of the exchange from the most active traders and instead spreads it out amongst all DGTX token owners in the form of inflation. But the inflation rate will be only a few percent per year, and the demand that is created for DGTX by the exchange will dwarf the inflationary cost of paying for that exchange.

The futures markets on the Digitex Futures Exchange will be cash settled in DGTX tokens every night at midnight if you still have an open position. There will be no physical delivery of the underlying instrument such as Bitcoin or Ethereum or Litecoin. The futures markets on Digitex are 24 hour duration Contract For Difference contracts that settle every night at midnight and if you have an open position it is rolled over into the next contract that settles in 24 hours time. When the contract is settled at midnight at the price of the Global Bitcoin Price Index (GBX) from bitcoinaverage.com the traders profit or loss is cash settled in DGTX tokens.

No its not really a decentralized platform, its a hybrid of a centralized order matching engine combined with decentralized accounts that communicate with the centralized exchange. A centralized order matching engine is way faster, more scalable and more reliable than a blockchain based exchange, allowing for real time trading. Bear in mind, you're only buying and selling futures contracts and in the process of doing that are winning and losing DGTX tokens, you're not actually trading any tokens for other tokens like on other decentralized exchanges.

No KYC for the ICO either. My original vision of the exchange was commission-free and no KYC so it doesn't seem right to extend it to the ICO. It's nobody else's business what you do with your money and everybody knows KYC is a waste of time. It also makes us a target for hackers if we collect a bunch of personal information about you which puts you at more risk. Best way to protect your personal data is not to collect it in first place.

DIGITEX does requires you to believe that:

1. Traders speculate on the price of Bitcoin against the US dollar.

2. They can be successful enough at speculating on the price of Bitcoin against the US dollar that they can pay a 30% referral fee to the shady pimps who are willing to promote this SCAM to gambling addicts plus the usual gullible and/or greedy people.

DIGITEX features a sideshow involving them announcing:

1. That maybe because so many people will want to play their tokens game by sending them real money that their limited supply of tokens will maybe increase in value.

2. That it's a "no cost" exchange! ... Because they promise that the only way they get paid is "by creating a small number of new tokens each year" that they give to themselves.

3. That of course as with any Ponzi SCAM, they also have the option of just keeping all that real money you send them for themselves and leaving you staring at the worthless tokens on your computer screen.

This sounds like a real recipe for disaster, doesn't it?

I have to admit, their concept is great, a hybrid futures exchange when our margin stays in our wallet.

I understand how futures broker makes money, (at least in forex broker ) their source of income , comes for from the loosing side (thanks  for the leverage). it is the risk of leveraged products. Fair enough.

However i was in forex industry for 8 years, enough to see a lot of brokers went out from business.because they unable to manage their risk well.
Sow how you hedge your risk?
if you have 60% buy and 40% sell, what Digitex gonna do? ?

If yes, how you can earn profit if you keep it balance 50-50?
will DIGITEX charge spreads like forex brokers do to earn some profit?

i remember when i was first time browse Digitex site, join telegram groups  . my intuitions alarming me if this project is too good to be true but i can't find out why.

Wow this project is already looking way better than etherdelta! I think there is a huge possibility for this exchange to be a great one. Using futures is difficult at first but it allows you to craft trades that will eventually bring some sanity into the crypto world.

Only reason I defend this project is because I see real potential in it, and the CEO seems very legit on the subreddit answering more than 100 of replies to his "Ask me anything" thread. Realscams.org is rubbish website which should be closed, because it ruins alot of companies rep.

after two year in 2021 digx price per token is $0.43 and 12 months cost is 10M so they have to issue 23.3M new tokens to cover this cost.  (as example taken directly from white paper) which will cause "little" inflation for existing token holders and overall price of token will decrease to let say $0.40. fair enough ( technically that is your transaction fees right there because it is decreasing the value of your portfolio) but lets accept it. real question comes here that if everyone knows that in 2021 digx is about to issue new 23.3M tokens which will decrease the price per token from 0.43 to let say 0.40 ( TINY INFLATION) will every one not sell it before even the release of new token to save that inflation ( frankly if i knew i can sell at 0.43 and will have a chance to buy back at 0.40 why wouldn't i?) so if everyone start selling before the issuance of new tokens the price per token start to go down and they have to issue more tokens to cover that 12 month cost of 10M which will cause more inflation for existing token holders. anyone can explain this? if not i am good with transaction fee rather than no transaction fee. and why would you save transaction fee when you can lose chunk of capital value?

WHAT: 100 million DGTX tokens will be offered for sale to the public on February 15th, 2018.
HOW: We have bought back 148 million DGTX tokens from a very large buyer who bought them in our ICO on January 15th, 2018.
WHY: We were uncomfortable with one buyer owning such a large amount of DGTX tokens and we wanted to redistribute them amongst thousands of smaller buyers for the long term benefit of the project going forward.

Token auction will start at 9am EST on February 15th, 2018.

The token auction page will clearly show the current auction price and how much ETH has been raised so far and will calculate and display the forecasted final DGTX price.

DGTX is an ethereum based token and will stay that way. We are not building our own blockchain.

It’s not really ‘central’ since the people with tokens are the ones voting on it. Unlike banks who just print money at leisure.

Are you positiv that you platform can perform then or are parts of it not on the blockchain?

Yes we are more than confident because we are not building a decentralised platform. There is a reason why decentralised exchanges haven’t taken off and part of the reason for that is the fact that they are slow and unreliable.

Our futures exchange is more of a hybrid model because the order matching system is purposely going to be on a centralised server because it’s much faster and much more reliable. This will be in combination with non centralised account balances. So we are combining the speed of centralisation with the safety of non centralised account balances in which only you own the private key to your funds.

 State channels are also something we are looking at but again, the actual order matching system is centralised, it’s impossible to do real time trading on a fully decentralised platform. Hybrids provide the best of both worlds.

If you're talking about OOOBTC you need to pm @johndanie on telegram. He works for them. We can't help directly with your issue as its your personal account. OOOBTC withdrawal times are very long as they are paid out manually, again we can't help with this. We've always recommended Mercatox as everything is automated there.

Our domain is registered for 5 years, our ICO was 10 months ago, we are still here.

30% referral gains (Over exaggerated referral gains for get the funds as soon possible and run).
Again, 10 months later and we are still here, referral payments are on the blockchain which doesn't lie. The referral rates were very high, but this drove demand for the token. We sold out in 17 minutes.
