My hacker attacks, how to protect my account.
I lost more than $ 3500, please help me!

Use a simple cheap computer that is brand new. And do not use this computer anything instead of cryptocoin storing and transactions. do not keep it with internet connection. do not connect to any wifi lan. connect to internet only sharing internet data from your iphone.

maybe use an offline wallet. it might be a bit more reliable for larger amounts.

keep the asset that you can save now, use anything new or re install your OS. leave that myetherwallet account that get hacked. nothing that you can do except make new myetherwallet and be more careful

Check your computer, maybe there's malware, change your wallet into a new one bcause maybe you already enter the private key in phising site, or if you want a better security, spend some money to buy nano ledger s, it's less than $100 and it will secure your crypto.

take another mew and transfer your money to new adress and for computer virus attack format it. install win 10 again and buy a nice antivirus. And most important one dont click every link dont go every web site.

Use 2FA or a hardware wallet or even a paper wallet. I think paper wallet is the best option you've got there.

MyetherWallet is not hacked.  By, at least, I did not find anything hacked there and did not hear from anyone other than you.  Then why bother people with false information?  Maybe your problem is different.

Carefully look at the site and after a thorough check decide whether to trust him or not.

No one can hack your account until you let them do it. Just follow 2 rules and your wallets will be safe:

MEW is very difficult to attack. Your information may have been revealed. You should check your computer again. see the malware. or the files that you have downloaded. It may have stolen your information. Keep your PC connection secure, by disconnecting it when not in use

You wouldn't give to anyone your home's keys; you need to keep them with care.
The same is with private crypto keys. There are plenty of methods to keep them safe.

Probably you have been subject for "fishing" sites.
Create a new MEW account and transfer the amount to the new account.
Scan your pc if you have malware.

you probably click some link or ads and didn't notice that is was phishing. better crate a new wallet and spread your coins or funds. also install or update you adblocker and antivirus, i use ublock origin and malwarebytes. i once click a link in slack and my antivirus block it, i'm sure it is a phishing link.

it's some conditions that you may have to realize when it is possible to do the protection that should be done is :
1. Don't use your MEW to play bounty - campaign. use MEW wallet backup for that.
2. Don't share your private key
3. Clean your computer from viru and malware.
4. Do not go into links that we do not know.
5. Bookmark your MEW to browser to avoid phising links 6. Be careful when using public connections like public wifi
7. Use offline wallet or wallet hardware.

It's possible that the hacker can still access your files. Reformat your computer and reinstall the OS. Create a new mytherwallet account. Don't click any suspicious links especially those asking for your personal info.

only advice is all we can give to you..I was hack too ,way back october 13,2017. i dont how it happened,so what i did is make new mew account,format my phone and monitor every tokens that are still coming to my hacked mew,i make sure im faster than the hacker.Just move on and make new mew account,dont use the old mew.

It is pretty unlikely your wallet was hacked, but what is likely is that you clicked on a suspect email or link and where taken to a copycat site and your information was phished. If you keep you wits about you MEW is extremely safe.

Always check the security bar at the start of the URL has MYETHERWALLET LLC (US) in green caps then you know you are on the proper site.
For now you should set up a new wallet and transfer out anything left in your compromised one

No one can hack your wallets unless you let someone to access your private keys,you need to keep your private keys in an offline storage never store it  in computer or in online storage.You know MEW is the most secured wallet so it is impossible to hack your private keys.If you still not contented with online wallets better to go with a hardware wallet but make sure it supports your tokens before buying an hardware wallets.

Someone surely have access to your private key, json file or anything you use to access your myetherwallet and those people who don't know how to protect their cryptocurrencies will surely be victimized by these hackers. To avoid that to happen again make sure that do not download or install any file/software from shady websites, don't click any link that was given to you (one of them might be phishing site). Be careful where to store your private key, mnemonic phrase, json file and lastly don't put your private key on airdrops that require you to provide it that's 100% scam.

I am not sure how you lost the money. But, did you just install the fake "MyEtherWallet" app from iOS. It would be helpful to others if you share details.

I think you install a fake myetherwallet or there's someone knows your private key and hacked your wallet. My suggestion to avoid this kind of problem is keep safe your private key because there are so many hacker. It is possible to lose your tokens.

Aww so bad. 3500USD is a big amount of money. When is the last you opened your mew account ? Maybe your a victim of a phishing site. Did you check if you go to the right address? There are so many fake websites now. Look very same to its original one but if you check the link its different. You know ethdelta ? An exchanger. It has an imitation ederdelta. So be very careful. Instead of opening your account when you just want to check you balance. Just go to ethplorer or etherscan.io. Also, be careful of submitting your address. Check if this is really the address and not the private key.

I also experienced the same incident as you, if I caused the phishing site because I rarely see the original url, from my experience protect your email and protect your account using 2GA or 2FA.

It cannot be hacked if you not share your private key to anyone. Maybe you put your login details at any clone site or some malware is applied on your system. Protect your system with a good antivirus.

In this kind of situation's i believe you should the ether support or simething i think they has does.  The primary reason why people get hacked not because of a system failure but because of human error cause by default we are gullible and very trusty.  Maybe you give away your private key or click something in the internet and goy infected with a malware.

if you never open suspicious links and never shared you private key. you must check your computer. make sure is free from viruses, malware, spyware. don't install software using crack or another hacking tools.

I've been in cryptocurrency world for about 4 months now and I also using myetherwallet, but I never experience that my account was hacked. You can research that Myetherwallet is very difficult to hack, probably you click some phishing links and get your information. Keep in mind to back up your private keys or the keystore file or put it in the safest place. Yes to this, as you could as at the home page of myetherwallet you could see that you will be ask to use the metamask because it is more safer that using the actual website because now is a lot of people making a phishing website like those one that could sometimes you get caught of it. So now i do suggest use metamask it is a chrome extension that you will need to download and install.

Better decision is to buy a hardware wallet like trezor or nano s to keep your funds safely.

Good advice. Many times the reason hackers can hack myethetwallet is public computer or internet usage. It is not joke. If you are investing, then you should use private computer with your own internet.

sorry for your lost but you have not tell us how your account is hacked. the major cause of wallet hack is when your private key is leaked. then you need to know how to secure your private key. dont store your PK inside your mail or any online storage platform. be sure to have official page of MEW bookmarked in your browser and always check MEW address before you logging to your wallet. MEW will never send you message to your email directing you to logging through link provided (phising site)

There are some option but to give your wallet address back looks not posible because the hacker already known your privatekey. becareful to participate in every airdrop.
The first you can try to make another new address to store your amount, all of the method will never give your money back dude. Another option you cna try to use dekstop or even paper wallet to store your amount.
Forget your amount because that will never back and your privatekey can't be changed.

I give you simple solution for that:
- Get brand new USB Memory Stick 16GB or 32GB.
- Download and install on offline computer VeraCrypt

- Create new container 14GB (USB 16) or 30GB (USB 32) and choice "AES-Twofish-Serpent with SHA-512" save file on USB stick (copy backup to any offline PC)
- Create 5 wallets on www.myetherwallet.com on new PC with a different network than the one you got hacked (I guess is your home network) and save JSON files/Private Keys and Wallet address inside VeraCrypt container in a text file. Copy only wallet addresses to your home PC (email, USB stick) then close your container/Logout and write down password on paper for VeraCrypt (keep safe)
- Never log in to www.myetherwaller.com with Private Key and don't use JSON Files/Password if not need!
- NEVER use Private Keys (if someone has it can take your money without knowing your wallet address)
- Keep VeraCrypt container safe in 2 different locations offline

No body ccan help you at the moment! You need to creat new wallet and hold your private key in ofline wallet! This is a best way to store your coin and token!

Myetherwallet doesn't store anything. It's just the tool to get access and manage your wallet. If you got hacked it means that you compromissed the private key somehow. The best thing you can do to protect your funds is to use hardware wallet such as Ledger or Trezor.

Always double or triple check the address you are sending,install malwarebytes in your computer,and metamask to protect yourselves in phishing sites.

Its better to keep hardware wallet like ledgernano or trezor other wise you can keep your system always safe by upgrading firewalls and antivirus as well don't use lots of website which will lead to other malicious website .  ALways try to clean cookies and browser regularly . there is nothin to hack in myetherwallet ,so only thing that can be hacked is your wallet there. It's a question why not to use say wif format for private keys so you couldn't accidentely discover someone's wallet any more.

MEW doesn't get hacked, but you might have been a victim of a phishing site, like everyone who traded one day on etherdelta and they all got their tokens stolen because the site was redirected to a phishing site. I got phished very early on when I first used a MEW wallet but now I always look at the top to make sure US LLC is showing in green and I always go to it form a bookmarked location. Also best to open numerous wallets not just one wallet and diversify your assets to more than one wallet. When you can afford get hardware wallets like trezor or nano s, we should all make these our priority items on our 2018 shopping list.

Probably your fault of not having metamask and malwarebytes in your computer,you didnt check the address you are sending your funds or your keys are stolen by the hackers.

I suggest not to store passwords, and Keystore files online. It makes your wallet easy to get hacked.

myetherwallet has outstanding security features they arent hacked,you just having malwares in your computer.

OMG. Those hackers annoy all crypto holders. But we need to keep our funds safe. We are the only responsible to keep our private keys safe.
I saw that one guy lost 500 kUSD. He was hacked. He wrote to police and they somehow identified a thief.

Have a bare minimum system that has nothing on it. Install wallet and only use it for making a transfer.

My friend's account was hacked too, but it is totally his fault, and I think also as yours. You just have viruses on your pc or just won't keep safe your private key. It can be a lesson for you, you will be smarter next time.

It seems your computer has been compromised. If you're using pirated copies of programmes or you download them from unknown resources, you have probably a trojan or keylogger in your system.
If you make many transactions it's better to buy a ledger/nano.
The other option would be using a dedicated PC for sending coins, Myetherwallet is a great program it worths using it,. but not in a compromised computer.

As you said there maybe virus attack on the system or you may clicked some scam email which can copy the details of clipboard so we always have to keep our system with junk free apps and if possible keep a separate system for cryotocurrency usage and connect to internet only when you are going to make transaction.

It seems you visited some phising site. My personal advice, please use Metamask to login into Myetherwallet. Or try buy a hardware wallet like Ledger nano or trezor. For further preventive, you may also install some web browser addon like https everywhere or Cryptonite.
