For those who think that, why do you think that is the case when fees are so high and send times so slow?

What is this - concern trolling?

Bitcoin will go up - and it will go down. There are several reasons, check out google for some of the things it can do. This is the year of lightning network - and a ton of alt coins and ICO's / SEC etc.

We cannot predict if bitcoin will rise or not. Right now the demand for bitcoin is not that much, especially since the new year and christmas. People have spent most their money and have sold their bitcoins to buy presents/ pay bills etc. However, in a few months it should rise, but im not so sure. More people are looking into alt currency and cheaper icos.

Bitcoin right now is not really a mean of transactions or any small trades . It's just like gold you can't carry tons of it by yourself you need a big truck if you are going to move it . You can't buy with it directly . Yet it's still worth so much .It's the same thing for bitcoin it's the base of cryptocurrencies and people are trading with it other crypto not trading it.

If bad news happens, with the loss of dominance of bitcoin, we could see it below $ 8k and potentially people would lose confidence

Because more people have confidence and know about Bitcoin than they do Ethereum and Ripple. Because of this people will buy Bitcoin first and then diversify. Also considering all or most alts are paired with BTC it naturally brings in demand.

Fees seems to be low for now, try to check it out again and I guess bitcoin's ready to rise again. People who get out of bitcoin are the ones who are sick of paying high miners fee but once they have seen the fee is starting to neutralize then it will be the countdown for bitcoin's new milestone for this year. It's still early to say that it will rise but that is expecting for bitcoin every year.

Now in winter market is quite down. In the last of winter and summer the market is going up. Then bitcoin rise again. Many experts says in the year 2018 bitcoin will be 14 to 17K.  :)

As I see it, I think if there was like one country on planet earth, and if that one country had one money, then that would be not so good for bitcoin.

As it is, there are something like 200 countries, with 200 different governments, with all sorts of different monies floating around in various health and well being. IMHO, things are less likely to go smoothly in all the 200 countries, by all the 200 governments, with all the different monies, all the time. Therefore, the chances of bitcoin finding use in the second scenario is better than the one country/one money scenario.

What do you mean struggling? Bitcoin is above $10k. The price for me is really strong. Maybe you are used to seeing bitcoin having a massive bull run specially in the first or second week of December. Bitcoin is based on speculation so I doubt that we are going to see it like have a smooth sailing or something.

I think we can put the Lightning Network as a good case to see what it will bring to the market. Testing is done and its successful are per reported. If people are swaying on bitcoin because of the high fees and slow confirmations then maybe when Lightning Network is implemented and the issues is resolved, then it will again gain traction from the community and the price could go up once more. But we have to wait when LN is going to be activated.

Struggling? The price is very stable right now, it touched less than 13 thousand dollars by today's morning and it is going up again, i dont see why we shouldn't be bullish.


It is obvious that it is going to increase in some time, but the fees aren't high right now, well they are pretty expensive compared to last year's fees ($3 in october) but they are lower than what they were one week ago.

The transaction fees for bitcoin is one of the reason why the price is dumped but now I see a sign of life with bitcoin now, yes the fees are getting lower and bitcoin slowly pumping. Bitcoin will rise again because its a great technology that we should support for.

Bitcoin increases because of its use and supports to increase bitcoin value so we must continue supporting it so much bitcoin increases.

It's dumped and many can't take it anymore to transact with bitcoin and pay higher fee than the amount they are about to send. This is the main cryptocurrency and it's the center and heart of the market so it will be pumped for sure. And if you stayed for so long for sure you are not going to miss any single chance of having a great pump for bitcoin.

As we know some bitcoiners concern about fee and slow transaction.
They think bitcoin will be quick and low fee. But in fact, bitcoin is not quick and low fee.
In this case, i am thinking will go down since of that problem. But the fact might be different. I am still  support this bitcoin grow much more like before and can solve the problem

Even if Bitcoin does fall it doesn't mean it's failing. It's already hit immense heights. But let's be honest it was a bit of a sudden rise to fame and should probably be considered a blimp in the market if it doesn't last a few months more.

The high bitcoin demand by the public is what is driving the bitcoin price and value. And still everyday new people are coming in to bitcoin without the knowledge of how expensive the bitcoin transaction is or slow the bitcoin network. I believe newcomers are the ones to invest in bitcoin with these issues. Bitcoin will surely struggle in 2018, if not proper measures are taken to solve these transaction issues.

I think if this scenario will happen a lot of people will be disappointed because the fees are getting high therefore the transaction would be fast but its what happen. So I believe that the transaction in this year has been more fast than 2017. Well it is just my predictions.

It is truly that transaction fees increase which cause for traders to struggle.  Increasing and the transfer of money become slow where you are become afraid to lose it.  Maybe it will become easy a gain and transfer it in fast manner.

This question has always been ask every time falls down and it was like all the time i think, seriously bitcoin has already proven its worth, most people always think that it will not or will continue its price to decrease but after some time people will just shock it always make a comeback and getting stronger than before.

Fluctuations is a common thing in any market including bitcoin, as bitcoin becomes an investment platform, we can expect price jumps as investors pours their money and price drop as they take profits from their investments, but one thing is certain, bitcoin will continue to rise as the demand continue rising and with a fixed supply of bitcoins, its is guaranteed.

It will be a hard time to explain it but to make it simple I really think this will be all over once those transactions that are stucked out there are depleted.
High transaction fees will make it happen. Why? Because bitcoin users will try to lessen their transactions and will just try to do it in one part instead of sending everytime they will have their profit.

I would say yes bitcoin will be rising soon in the market again,

We cannot predict digital currency, whether go up or will go down. Price of cryptocurrency is determined by demand and supply ratio. When supply is more than demand then price will go down. Every year end markets all over the world goes down. People withdraw their money for celebration and festival purpose. Bitcoin investors have earned a lot in the last month. Now they are withdrawing their profits. Once this is over these investors starts buying again. Which will lead the bitcoin market go up.

yes all that can happen because the number of bitcoin users that every fraction of a second there is always a transaction so of course it becomes slow and it may need something new again so that it can happen either by hardfork or in any other way

Indeed Bitcoin will rise again because traders and investors have invested more when price is at 10k$ due to increase in demand price of BTC rises very quickly to 19K$ due to which they have earned huge profit and now they are busy in transacting their profit. It is almost certain that bitcoin will continue to rise in 2018. As you know, more and more newcomers are now adding encrypted money, which means more and more money to enter the encrypted money market every day. 2018 will be a year in which the price of bitcoin will continue to rise.

Bitcoin transactions are slower due to more traffic in blockchain network which means still high demand in bitcoin but the price is recovering slowly from the crash which is caused by many people spend their bitcoins for Christmas and New year.
But the transactions will be faster when the lightning network implemented which was expected to happen in mid 2018.So the price will increase soon.

Bitcoin was sold out for Christmas holiday presents and holiday vacation, that is my view. I am forecasting that by next month onward, Bitcoins will resume its journey to the moon. I also think numerous altcoins and profitable ICO of late can accounted as one reason Bitcoins is getting downward because most people are selling their bitcoins to invest in the ICOs.

Agreed. I also believe that one factor that have caused the huge drop of price last December was all the celebration for Christmas and the New Year. For the coming months, I hope that the price will return to an upward trend, though I must admit that more people are already investing in other digital currencies.

Bitcoin might rise again if the demand in them market goes bigger compare to the seller of bitcoin because we are now in the bearish season for bitcoin and i think that bitcoin will rise in summer and i think that this month and the few coming months will be the best time to buy some bitcoin and hold it for long term.

Bitcoin will rise again because we're already past Christmas and New Year. Those Christmas holidays affect the price of bitcoin in the market for so many reason. Now, it's time for bitcoin to rise again and is ready to break its highest market price before.

It will rise again because it always rise previous months. Definitely the trend is going up. A little downfall maybe but not as high as it rises again. The price is actually unpredictable as to how high it will rise or low it will fall. However, if you monitor the trend mostly it rises. When the price goes up meaninv the demand may lessen thus supply lessens and the price lessens. So therefore, if it fall then its time to buy. For my own opinion about bitcoin for the year 2018 is good and will continue rise because three months before 2017 end the bitcoin is increasing so much and i pridect that bitcoin will continue rissing in the year 2018. As a investor I will continue support bitcoin and encourage other to invest bitcoin. I know that bitcoin has many compitensis thats the reason bitcoin has decrease value and many investor had back out thier money. But is not a reason that i will quit bitcoin. Bitcoin is the safest cryptocurrency, you can see many altcoin which the price is zero, people who has that coin are disappointed. But bitcoin is different because bitcoin is best cryptocurrency that ever made. Many people use it as medium of exchange in online shops, even in the deep web.

High fees and slow send times? When did you made your last transaction? I just made 1 yesterday and it took me 16k sats and less than 10mins to get confirmation. And it's not bad. Unconfirmed transactions are less than 100k. I don't think bitcoin is struggling, it's rather under development.

Why bitcoin rises again, it's because bitcoin has a lot of demand, and many people are investing into bitcoin so it causes bitcoin to increase.

obviously bitcoin will always rise in price because bitcoin is the digital currency that becomes the solution in the future, the future use of money should be reduced and will switch to digital currencies like bitcoin. this will trigger a rise in bitcoin prices due to the very high demand and limited total supply keep bitcoin prices up.

less than 10 days of not rising is not called "struggle" it is called correction and eventually accumulation.
struggling is when at least  for 3 months price is stuck behind some arbitrary resistance and it can not break above it (something like the $220 range)

if people expect bitcoin to rise and if they are bullish then they will act on that speculation, they don't just stay idle by. and that means they will start buying after the holidays ended and price will rise!

because fees are not the only thing that bitcoin offers. and fees are higher temporarily!

Bitcoin has a lot of loyal supporters and because of these supporters bitcoin stays strong as well. And with its current drop of price and lately the price had been steady, I think a lot of investors are jumping in with its bandwagon. So I really think bitcoin will still continue to rise this year.

About Bitcoins value, we cannot predict whether it will go up or down, all of the answers are only assumptions and predictions. Lets say like me, i believe that its price will go up this year. For now , we can all see that it is stable at $14,600 but i assume and hope that it will bubble again this year.

There is no particular reason normally there is a tendency of people selling stocks when there is an special occasion like New Year or Christmas same way happened with btc out of the many who sold only some of them were booking their profits rest was based on assumptions that others might sell which caused a sort of dumb.

That's the bitcoin flow. If you will see its status, it will keep on dump and pump again. But it will not disappear as others say, but it's been over a long period of time.

For me I still believe that bitcoin will really become strong this 2018. It is normal to have high fees because bitcoin is high too. We need to accept that. All we can do is to be wise in choosing a day to have a transaction with lower fees because that's what i am doing. If the fees are high I am not doing any transaction but when the fees are low I am taking advantage of it.

Because it always rises, it is just the matter of the time when it will go up again. Wait and see yourself.

When I checked the price of bitcoin yesterday it is just around $13400+ and when I checked just now it increase to $14900+ . We may not say that it will never go down again but the difference in rise of price is a good sign that bitcoin is actually getting stronger. I think the reason for slow sending of transactions is because of many transaction are being carried out when a block can only hold limited amount of transactions.

Very good if bitcoin starts to have a strong foundation, let alone many people use bitcoin now, therefore for those who develop bitcoin should be more spirited to keep the stability of bitcoin (they should be able to overcome the problem).

I agree with your opinion, although bitcoin has a very significant price increase but someday bitcoin will have a decrease in terms of price.

Because till this point , it has always risen . No reason to believe otherwise.

Bitcoin will rise again due to some hype and manipulation from whales. Everyone was talking about Bitcoin and how it hit a few thousand dollars, then ten-thousand, and then twenty-thousand, and that was getting everyone really hyped up for cryptocurrencies and getting people investing in them because it was shaping up to be the next big .com investment that could have made everyone a ton of money. For everyone who invested anywhere but above $17k, they had a guarantee to make some money if they sold at the right time. Now a bunch of people are hurting financially and it's not doing as well because the supply opened up after the HODLers started to give up.

Hype and hodling will make Bitcoin go up again, if there is more hype to be had.

yeah it will rise again but not at this time, right now the Bitcoin will have a correction i think and after that between may until December it'll go to the moon again like it did in the past.

i am not familiar with greenaddress but unless they are using off chain transactions like account to account that coinbase uses, there is no way to reduce the fees of transactions that happen on chain because a wallet is not the one setting the fees, your wallet is just suggesting fees, the network determines the fee amount.

Many trusted bitcoin already that is why even there are many problems regarding with the fees and the transaction of bitcoin, many still buy it and they will diversify it.

for me why bitcoin will rise again? I think this year is the right time to invest in bitcoin therefore there's a lot of investors tried to invest in bitcoin

honestly that's what i predicted also about bitcoin in 2018 with an all time high.

Right now the demand for bitcoin is not that much, especially since the new year and christmas. People have spent most their money and have sold their bitcoins to buy presents/ pay bills etc. However, in a few months it should rise, but i am not so sure. More people are looking into alt currency and cheaper ICOS.
