Title: Free Bitcoins - What is a bitcoin faucet?
Post by: Mir Jan on January 05, 2018, 07:12:23 AM
I came across this site where people can roll the dice, earn free bitcoins and also multiply them. How legit are these sites and how to use them effectively?

Most sites are legit alright, in terms of the money they pay out. The problem is that faucets are simply not worth your time. The activities you are required to do and the ads you have to watch take so much of your time and the btc they give you is so small that you are better off doing something else. Don't waste your time on faucets.

I do not choose it, because I see it is a scam, and the income is small, so to collect 1 bitcoin, it can take a very long time.

I think you must be talking about freebitco.in as it is the most legit faucet site that gives free coins, has rolling dice and the ability to multiply BTC with its hi-lo game. Yes this site is legit and has been running successfully over the past many years. This site has been mine and many others' first way to earn BTC.
One thing I would like to mention in don't stick around with such sites for too long as many end up with all their coins lost. Too much of playing will make you a loser at the end. Faucets are just a pass time and cannot be treated as a source of income.

The current faucet is not like a few years ago. There were hundreds of sat in the past. It will be a waste of your time to collect faucets now. This is expensive for your time cost, and you can now collect bitcoins by signing them.

Different kinds of faucet are available, but you can only earn a little amount of coins there and i will make sure to you that it is not worth of your time. Also some of faucet website is scam, they will set the payout to a higher one and once you reach it they will not going to pay you. So better stay away with faucet

is not that like gambling? If you do not need to bet anything because I think there is no gambling without betting so it is not free. and bitcoin can be from the gambling result whether it is the correct behavior. unless you can let go of all the ways to get the bitcoin you will probably do.

Yes, it is not practical to collect bitcoin faucet sites now, as the amount of free bitcoin captured is very small and may be worth less than a dollar.

You should read this beginner's thread by Lauda.
Most people agree that faucets are pretty much a waste of time. With the transaction fees, i doubt that you'll earn enough to complete even the transaction for a long time.

Your time is much well spent researching about bitcoin and related technologies as well as catching some good signature campaigns. Try mining with small investments to begin with.

It is waste of time to use facuets, yes they can give you free bitcoins. They are able to do this because they put some ads in there so they earn from ads and give you chunks of bitcoin. You don't want to lose your time in this way, trust me. If you don't own any particular skill invest your time in learning so you can earn fiat and swap it for bitcoin or even better earn directly in bitcoin or some other crypto.

Yes, it is true. some pay, but many are just a scam. and also what we get is not balanced with what we throw away. There are still many more useful and profitable. for what we spend time for something small, while we can still get bigger.

He/she is right. Most faucets are paying but it's not worth it to do. I knew it because I'd already do wasted my time in that faucet claiming to make only 1 cent in a day. Why do that when you can do more than that.

Faucet are easy way to start to get some satoshis but on the long term it could be a huge waste of time (some site exagerate with the amount of ads and spam) and you could find better way to earn cryptos! (educating yourself, investing, trading, ico..)

That site is legit  it really gives bitcoin when your bet is correct. However I don't recommend  it for anyone because you will consume a lot of your time while earning a little amount of btc.

Most of them is Scam, some of them only waste time for 0.1$ and little is good.
if you want to earn about 20$ every month choose it
You sit in front of the computer without learning something new, to earn a little money, which may not be enough to pay the computer bill or even the treatment bill for your eye and back
you can earn more using bitcointalk

Such sites have already emerged from popularity. They are similar to bitcoin cranes, where Satoshs charge you for certain actions. This is a very small income and there is no point in spending your time on it.

Well some of this faucet site are legit. One of the is the coinpot that is a micro currency wallet and has a lot of mining from bitcoin to altcoins. Every faucets site that the coin pot offers are legit and tested up to now. I have been using those faucets site last year up to now they are still paying my efforts. I am happy to earn bitcoin without any investment.

The vast majority of faucet sites are indeed legit, they make money by serving you adverts, captcha completion, or exploiting your contact information for marketing purposes, and pay a tiny satoshi reward. If you live in a low income country the payouts may be worthwhile even doing them manually.

The only people who make real money with these are the owners, or the people that manage to automate faucet requests at dozens of sites.

Free Bitcoin Faucet is an absolutely free bitcoin site that gives you up to $100 btc in 5 minutes. Every time you visit the faucet, you can get the maximum number of Satoshis between 2 to 10 Million.

Bitcoin faucets sites are usually also identical to the site ads or ad sites, publisher sites or ad serving. Because on every bitcoin faucet site there are always banner ads or text ads. Because the bitcoin faucet site is always crowded visitors, so it is suitable to be advertised pay per click. From these ads the site owner can get income.

If you are talking about freebitco.in its pretty legit and been running for quite some years now, they also have some cool way to earn bitcoin via web (but its only satoshi and a waste of time if i will use it).

The effectiveness to earn bitcoin via faucet is not advisable but can give you a good amount if you continue to use it for years.
Some site are annoying and full of ads (which i hate), maybe try it for a couple of day or weeks and see if the result suits your taste.

It's just a waste of your time. In addition, there is a huge potential risk that you may not be aware of. You can get the faucet for free on this gambling website, but it's negligible. You may recharge yourself, so you may lose everything. I have a friend who has lost 100 thousand dollars on such a website.

So, you are talking about faucet gambling site, I don't think it is really effective to the level where it may help you make a living with such site. In fact, faucet sites are big waste of time. I suggest you should try to rank-up your account here on this community by posting positive comments and join the signature campaign that would be better.

Bitcoin faucets are legit websites. But of course among the legit there are also non-paying sites. But since there are no fees faucets are a good experience for beginners in bitcoin. The source of payment that are give by this faucets are coming from the advertisement ( banner ads) that are posted on their website. So if there are no traffic there are no income. If there are no income there are no payouts for faucet users.

My 2 cents for you my friend is to always double check the links and these sites you are referring to. When you feel its too good to be true the try to get away from it as much as possible. Why would people try to give free btc if most of it are willing to pay for it at a high price. Im not saying that all of them are scams but this would be a good thought process.

The only faucet I would recommend it moonbitcoin.  It sends satoshis to coinpot which then sends it to your coinbase account or wallet.  You can link to several other faucets and have them all go to coinpot.  The links are available at coinpot.  I'm not going to give them because I gave it up... The other posters here are correct... Its a waste of time.  But moonbitcoin is definitely the best, so start there and use all the faucets that coinpot allows you to... if you want it to consume your life for literally pennies.

Don't earn bitcoin from site where people can roll the dice or any site which is gambling. It's not improve you knowledge in bitcoin, you should try something better like trading or mining or participate in bounty campaign. Faucet is also good, you can earn free btc from it but there are many ads that you will see and you will spend a lot of time.

https://freebitco.in/?r=10755795

This link can be accounted for free bitcoin. Bitcoin can be purchased without buying tickers, buying lottery tickets.

In my opinion, people who are new to know about bitcoin and invest in it first.

Faucets are a great way to learn about Bitcoin IF you’re patient. They’re definitely not what they used to be, and are rarely worthwhile for various reasons, unless you’re in it for the long haul. First, it takes many months to accrue a balance that is worthy of withdrawing without sacrificing a loss to the current transaction fee issue, and secondly, a lot of small transactions/withdrawals can create multiple inputs, which will increase transaction sizes when trying to spend your bitcoin later.

I will say, however, that if you have a lot of influence and the ability to create a solid way to gain referrals, you can earn a bit just by referring users to faucets that pay out a good referral commission. I know times are different now vs when I got into the game, but I used to earn 0.1-0.5BTC per month from referral commissions alone. This is back when BTC was worth under $1k each, so the BTC amount is definitely not the same, but the opportunity to earn is there if you’re patient and have a persevering personality.

I've been involved in trying some bitcoin faucets on the site for getting bitcoin for free but it's not working and it's very time consuming. I draw the experience that you should not waste your time on free bitcoin programs because you do so much still not enough min pay so you can get income.

bitcoin faucets are a reward system, in the form of a website or app.
faucets are a great way to help introduce new people to bitcoin. majority of faucets provide information to new users and offer them some free coins so that they can try before they buy. experimenting with a test transaction or two before putting real money . since this whole experience is so new and a bit complicated to people who don’t quite trust it with their hard money, this is a beneficial way to promote
digital currency and bring in new users.

Most of the bitcoin faucets I visit are legit like primedice and freebitco.in though they really give very little amount of satoshi but the opportunity they give to those beginners who want to earn is really something I admire. For almost half year of doing faucet I earn .0012 bitcoin  ;D and I consider that as an investment for the future, who knows if bitcoin will worth $100,000 that investment can really harvest a huge amount of profit.

Faucet Bitcoin is a site / website that gives Bitcoin a certain amount to its visitors by way of CLAIM a number of Bitcoin provided for free.
Usually to get or claim the FREE BITCOIN:visitors are required to enter a Bitcoin address in the form of a wallet code or email address.
After that visitors must fill in the Captcha code that has been provided as a way to verify that the claim is not a robot. Click the claim button.
And if the Captcha code matches then the amount of Bitcoin provided is instantly transferred to the address of the Bitcoin wallet.

There are many sites like Gambling and Casino websites where you are given bitcoins everytime you win on a gamble and other than this there are also some sites that pay you Bitcoin for simple works, spins, and games which are called faucets where you are given some part of Bitcoins each time when you spin or play that particular game. Now here there is very little chance that you are going to win because all their sites are automated by the BOTS and I don't think you can win over those BOTS easily and even if you are winning then you need to spend tons of time and efforts here, so better don't waste your time here.
