The idea of stable coins for transactions is very interesting, but how will this stability be achieved? As soon as they enter the market, the rate will be immediately destabilized.

I put this topic on "watch". Seems like an interesting project. I like the idea of an airdrop in combination with an ICO.
I entered the airdrop have referred it to many friends. I will be holding my airdrop and maybe invest a bit in the ICO. With the limited supply this project has potential price wise.

We have a negative trust 2 member putting out a project "HAVVEN" who will require us to surrender our personal information via KYC to receive an airdrop.

No crypto currency that is legit would ask you for your passports and ID.  It goes against the very nature of what crypto is about.  This projects should be avoided on principle.

If you guys keep supporting projects that partake in KYC your killing crypto and handing it over to the bankers and thieves.

Yeah I just saw this on their site.  What a shame.  When the large corporations are hacked you know these small projects cannot truly keep our data 100% safe.  Any project that is willing to risk our personal information is either a scam looking for our personal documents or not concerned about data security from the customers perspective. 

I didn't need KYC to buy bitcoin.  I think I will stick with the big boy coins and leave you boys to send in your passports.  Take the FOMO away and think about the risk your taking guys. 

You gotta love a project with the audacity to have a -2 trust and then ask for your KYC during an airdrop.  Very sad for the crypto world if this is supported.  To me if this is supported by our community it is way more damaging than say a facebook banning cryptos. 

Facebook banning cryptos means we are winning.

Us giving our passports for an airdrop (WTF) means we are loosing. 

Ban this project community.  Do not stand for this. 

How can you guys promise to protect our data when you receive it if the largest corporations in the world cannot do this?  You playing a very risky game with innocent peoples paperwork.  You know as well as I do you cannot protect it 100% and your leaving us open with large security gaps if we comply.

Please personally ban Havven and lets show the crypto world our data is sensitive and we will not share it.  This will terminate anyone attempting this in the future and will reward projects doing things the right way.

Ian Balina is backing this project which means all his groupies will try to hoard this ICO. I will stay away from this. He was supportable in the beginning but now he has the pull to get into any pre-sale with no problem especially as an "advisor", because companies know he has a big following so it's a no brainer to bring him on board. All his followers will just jump in after at a higher price for any ICO he shills. Not saying this is a bad project, it looks good. Wish I had heard of it earlier to join the pre-sale, but the ICO price point is not worth it for me. Good luck to the dev team.

Was looking to invest until I saw that thread.  Yikes.  Better and safer opportunities elsewhere.  Why would they need your documents for an airdrop?  That seems suspect on the surface.  And what project would post with a negative 2 trust.  LOL.  Seems like amateur scammers.  Would be hilarious to watch them try to sell the stolen passports to Al Quada in some desert town in Afghanistan.  We have 100 passports of extreme crypto morons who gave us their actual documents.  Get em while they're hot!!!

Its great to see the community members coming together and calling KYC out for what it is.  An information grab on innocent people.  Your not going stop motivated individuals from bypassing your requirements.  So in the end the only ones being hurt are the innocent, honest people of the world.   Any project that is not capable of seeing that will eventually fail due to being unable to see past the obvious.  One roadblock in the project it will be cut and run time with yoru funds AND PASSPORTS!!!

I completely understand the concerns around KYC generally and more specifically in this case. I'm personally very concerned about overregulation of crypto. But we also live in a world where raising capital is a regulated activity. We have done everything we could to allow as many people to participate as possible, for example we are not limiting participation to accredited investors. We were initially not planning to process the airdrop through KYC, but there was some concern that spam accounts would flood it and ruin it for everyone. So we decided that ensuring that only individuals would be able to participate was worth the trade-off. Of course I can completely understand why that would mean some people will not want to participate, which is their choice and I complete agree with them if they are unwilling to provide this information.

On a more macro level, our project has been designed as an open source protocol, which means that anyone can participate in the project in an open fashion once the network is launched. Unfortunately you cannot participate in the token sale without providing personal information, but this is the world we live in and we would prefer to enable the creation of a new protocol using crowdfunding than to do nothing or only fund it privately.

Again, everyone has to make their own decisions about whether to participate in the sale or in the network after the network has launched. I am very much an advocate for individual choice and personal autonomy.

I get the point you do not want spam accounts to flood the airdrop. Another project that did an airdrop and an ICO is Peculium and they only did the KYC for the ICO, because of the overregulation of crypto. It worked out fine for them in the end. I suggest you reconsider the KYC for the airdrop. Because of how it is now I will not submit my documents.

I think that's too much and it creates many suspicion..  If that's just the problem, there are many other ways to prevent spam bots, and developers need to know. Many people would never send documents to get something token, and when that time came, people would be very unhappy and desperate. One who wants to buy a token will send a documents. Hey. I think this is a good project. And the token will be regularly used. After reading this thread, I saw that the team, as much as possible, is going to meet the community. This is a good sign.

What do you think guarantees the success of the project in the market? That right guarantees? Perhaps success is not the result of a combination of all factors and conditions for development? I'm curious about how a dual-token system works.... which of the two tokens will then hold value or will be more valuable? would it be the variable token because its btc ratio will be dependent on market movement or will it be the stable one.....? by stable, you mean a fixed rate like a fixed bitcoin/fiat ratio? so which token will be entered at exchanges?

Havven platform uses two token to reduce price volatility and achieve stability.  The token provides the collateral for the platform, nomin tokens,  a stablecoin are issued against the value of the collateral token.  If more people use nomins for everyday transactions the value of havenn tokens will increase due to the high fees generated.

Havven thanks to Jan Ballina has gained wild popularity, in the telegram has already been signed about 100 thousand users (of course, thanks to the airdrop including). The project itself is controversial, in this market is rather risky, I believe.

are you sure about the high fees? hmm. as far as i know, people will not try to use any platform that uses or generates  high fees. people will surely use the low fees platforms or  networks when making transactions, right?

The idea is that for the person making a singular transaction, the fee seems low, while overall transaction volume is high enough so as to make the funds received from fees sufficiently beneficial for the people holding the havvens.

At the start of the whitelist Russia and Ukraine were not allowed.
Further these countries was added, but many accounts were not approved on KYC.
And today these accounts suddenly recieved emails about KYC confirmation.

Havven gained unprecedented popularity. Look at the number of people in the telegram group. Most people could not buy tokens on ICO, and therefore will buy on stock exchanges. It turns out that the investors of the project will be able to make good money!

Providing a stable coin is difficult if it's not centralized. Are you going to do it similar to Nubits? That became used a lot on Bittrex during the last crash.

The idea is pretty fascinating imo. I wasn't a fan of other stablecoins since they were tied to fiat/assets/gold. This is entirely a new idea. Lots to look forward to for havven

And I see on https://icobench.com/ico/havven . They list Hav token Symbol with price is 0.2$ but It is Havecoin. I think Dev should talk to the ICO bench to correct the information because Havven is not yet listed on any exchange.

Not sure about that but another project just like eidoo has released the wallet before the ico. I think that havven was including on the promising project list in this year. I hope Havven follows Nucleus Vision (nCASH) in terms of price appreciation! Even during a terrible week when nearly all cryptocurrencies bleeded, nCash strived to go up, which is incredible. Havven shares some similarities and could possibly go upwards as well. Time will tell, but I am betting at Havven.

Havven holders will have to send their tokens to an address and this enable to start issuing nomins for the public to purchase(on an exchange?), after this the collaterised Havven holders will receive fees when people transact with nomins..

i like this project. And still not selling my tokens )  I belive that this product can be usefull on our current matket.

the market definitely needs a stablecoin to facilitate everyday transactions. this is a great step towards mass adoption for crypto.

One thing to note is that the CEO Kain also owns blueshyft (sort of like Square but really big in australia). that in itself is a great opportunity for havven if they integrate with them and/or they have connections int he industry to push havven for mass adoption

So many stable coins on the market nowdays..Tether, TrueUSD, LibreCash, Heaven,USD and EUR tokens on BitShares and Waves DEXes..What for u are different? Could someone explain?

Most of them are not decentrilezed at all! Just token that could be emmited in any amount by the founders. I guess that only 3 tokens from your list could not be emmited like tether ( I mean any time when it is needed for founders or someone else). It is DEXes tokens and LibreCash. IMHO

It is still too small to be somehow stable , but since it is so new , there is still a big price increase , as you can see with other coins .

The Havven price is not expected to be stable it will driven by market forces, which will be driven by fees generated by the network and use of Nomins. Nomins are the stablecoin component of the project.

Something is unclear for me, according to white paper nUsd will be sold for eth, my question is what will happen to the eth? Will it be locked by contract or HAV holder could withdraw it?

This is not correct..  You can convert ETH to eUSD, the form of nomin available at the moment which can be redeemed for goods in the Havven eStore, eUSD is the initial test/version of nUSD. Once havven-backed nomins (nUSD) are launched, the eUSD contract will be liquidated. Upon liquidation, there will be a window for converting eUSD back to ETH. Further details will be announced closer to this time.

The next coin, the nUSD (nomin) will be backed by Havven, and this coin will have full transaction utility. Havven holders will be able to lockup Havvens as collateral to issue nUSDs. Whether or not nUSD/ETH trading pairs become available will depend upon future exchange listings.

Hello thd26bc, the main issue with a centralized stablecoin such as USDT is that it's prone to government or bank seizure. For example, last year, Australian banks started de-banking (closing accounts) for companies that had anything to do with cryptocurrency (source: https://bit.ly/2LOscTv). Another issue with Tether is that it is still yet to implement an external audit, so their claim that they hold $1 for every 1USDT is unverifiable. Havven on the other hand is decentralized or not controlled by a single body,eg. government.

IMO I think they have a good shot, although tether will be around for quite some time. I think Havven has the biggest potential to become the it stablecoin. looking forward to more exchange announcements and nUSD  ;D

From June 11 17:00 PDT, the Havven contract will be frozen as we deploy havven backed nomins to mainnet. Please do not attempt any havven transactions until the deployment has completed. Havven will announce completion of the deployment here on telegram, Havven's blog and website. Exchanges will need to make a small change to allow deposits and withdrawals of havven tokens, this may not align with havven completing the deployment. please contact Havven on telegram with any questions.

We can now confirm that deposits and withdrawals are enabled once again on Kucoin.

We can also confirm all HAV tokens in iDEX have been withdrawn and the HAV tokens airdropped to the addresses that held HAV balances at the time trading was halted. Your HAV tokens are in your personal wallet and can be viewed on MeW or Etherscan.

Until iDEX points to the new HAV contracts, the balance you see in iDEX is the old HAV token. Deposits and trading are not yet available but we will announce as soon as they are. Apologies for the delay in resolving this issue.

The idea of stable coins for transactions is very interesting, but how will this stability be achieved?

Hey there, this is a good question! I recommend checking out whitepaper to get a good sense of this, but it all come down to the Optimal Collateralisation Ratio.

The Optimal Collateralisation Ratio is the ratio of havvens locked as collateral to nomins issued in the system where the nomin value is $1 USD. HAV holders will want their supply of escrowed havvens to reflect this ratio as much as possible in order for them to receive the maximum compensation for backing the nomin network. 

When the nomin value is $1, there is no incentive given for holders to change the amount of havvens they have locked as collateral. However, should the price drop below $1, the system incentivizes users to burn nomins, and remove their havvens proportionately. It follows then, that if the value of nomins has gone above $1, the system will incentivise users to add to the collateral pool, issuing more nomins and returning the price back down to $1.

A graph reflecting these events can be found on page 12 of the whitepaper.

how do investors make profit with stablecoins? i guess they cant only devs can when they issue new coins and keep manipulating the price for example usdt is supposed to be 1:1 with USD and has 2.7 billion marketcap but wont even have 2 billion USD in cash and rest is all profit for devs

Hello Jamesmakx, The HAV holders help in the regulation of the supply and price of Nomins by releasing and destroying them to achieve optimal collateralization, which in turn helps in maintaining the Nomins at $1.The Havven holders are compensated for this, with the transaction fees, charged during all Nomin transactions which are then proportionally distributed among them. Also, by holding stable-coins, investors are not affected by market fluctuations and price volatility of crypto assets.

I think this may be a step towards world-wide adaptation of cryptocurrencies. Especially because of it's stability, as now it would be weird to buy like everyday groceries with bitcoin as the price changes that fast, that even minutes can change the final costs of the products and it won't be convenient to use. Also holding coins that are susceptible to market volatility is also risky and it would be better to have something more stable to store your small fortune.

I hope HAV will recover soon, I know we are still in a bear market but I bought already in the bear market (Mid June) and my loss is more than 80% $-related. I just hope the best for the project.
