Right now bitcoin is not the only coin who is going down. If you look at the market all of the coins go down with over 5% a day and thats because a big team of experienced traders control the market so they can buy coins when the price is down and sell it later for huge profits.

It think bitcoin price can go lower than 10.000$, that wouldnt surprise me because it happened before. Of course we cant know for sure what is going to happen but I think it would go some around 10-11k, than it willi rise again. The big question is how much is it going toto increase after this fall? Is it going to hit 25k? 15k? Everything is possible and we can only wait and see what is going to happen because we cant control the market

I think it will be around the $12,000 area, yes bitcoin and other coins are declining. For me as long as it stays above $10,000 it is still okay if it breaks the $10,000 support line people may panic sell their coins and we may see a big dive in price.

I think this will go down as low as 5000$ that will clear out the taxi drivers and people who are purely "investors" after that we will se new highs being formed by the actual users of the bitcoins

On what basis your point is? I don't think the price would be low that much or near the 10K level. Right now bitcoin have crashed in the market because of the current event in south korea where big exchange companies were raided because of their irregularities.

Bitcoin price will not go down further ,it will be staying at $10000 as a correction , once correction is settled it starts rising again , there is hope that it may reach $20000, but it takes time to rise , we may need to have patience , and when it goes down buy it in small amounts in different intervals and when starts rising sell that if you have made profit from it . Since bitcoin is very much popular and its usage is spreading across world there is big chance to grow further.

Impossible to say. Could go to zero.

With much of the world heading into Christmas and New Years holidays, trading will be light. Holidays have often been times prices dropped lower, so it may have some downside yet.

Bitcoin Cash has been quite negatively correlated with Bitcoin. That is to say if you keep an eye on things the price of BTC+BCH stays much more constant. When one goes up, the other drifts lower. Best to buy and hold BCH along with BTC for that reason alone.

My gut feeling is that it would fall near about 15,000$.And if it goes below this or below 10,000$ then its a matter of tension for the investors.Though many would be able to buy BITCOIN because of the fall but some may panic also.

I think the current drop in the price is due to market manipulation. We know some huge institutional capital have been flowing into Bitcoin lately <other people's money> and some of these Wall Street traders are getting bonuses now. Would it not make sense to manipulate the market, to drive down the price, before you buy some bitcoins of your own and then re-introduce <other people's money> to drive the price up and then sell at a much higher profit.  ???

It is the only thing that are making sense now, because we are not seeing any bad news and the price is still going down.

Voters $12,500-$12,000 (50%) and voters below $10,000 (50%) shows us that in general everybody expect unknown, everything might happen for the future prices of bitcoin.

Bitcoin has come to a point where it slows down, stagnant, seems to lose its value a bit more or losing its dominance overall. Whatever the reason may be, all we can do is just speculate and hope for a better days to come for bitcoin to come back to its original form and rises once again.

Personally i don't agree with the idea of people that some one are voting for 12500$ and some are for other price. Because no one known about exactly price of BTC that what will happening in coming minutes. For me BTC price depend only on their demand and supply. As demand is increased then BTC price get rising graph while as demand is decreased BTC get falling graph. And we hope in future BTC will get more customers due to which demand will be more high and because of increasing demand price will also be more high.

Maybe it will reach 12k in my opinion, but soon bitcoin price will go up because already the ripple price is falling so people will convert their ripple into bitcoins ir other altcoins as well so the price will get steady for now and will start to rise soon.
Another problem already came to the cryotocurrency is South Korea ban but I don't know it is a 100% true news.If they ban cryptos the chance of price getting lower is more.

fake bitcoin investors are now getting out of the picture, those who only want to ride for getting a small profit. I believe it will go deep until 10k dollar per bitcoin then it will started to rise again. This thing is not new to bitcoin, i know there will be a bounce back happening soon.

Definitely, bitcoin may probably not go below 14K and hopefully this will rise up once again. Most likely this will be the right time to buy bitcoin and retain it until the right time comes when it's price will spike just like what happened in the past months.

About this I just thinking the price wouldn't be more down than $12k. Yeah it's just my knowledge only, from the facts indeed like it is.. it's proven at the times of declining so far the price is not going down till passed $12k.
Actually after I'm reviewing.. the price can't stay away from the price that was last reached, I think it will continuesly experiencing like that forever I guess, and it still high possibility it still tends lead to $20k journey, despite accompanied by some phases of declines at certain times.

It all depends on how the market is going to keep moving for the next few days, months, or just weeks. But there is a lot of fud at the moment, and that is what is really causing this huge dip on the price.
But let's be positive, maybe it will be at $15k, by tomorrow, no one knows.

I believe this will not last long and will not go down below $12,000. The whales are waiting and are very hungry. They are very eager to swallow up whatever is being sold in panic. Ah, we should have learned the ways of Bitcoin. I know many of us here are already familiar with Bitcoin's movements. We know that these dump in price is one way for large whales to acquire more. And the the prices suddenly shoot up very high.

Bitcoin will go down temporarily but this time its different. All altcoins will go up. There will be a huge consolidation in BTC price before going up to 20k, 30k, 50k. etc. Just hold bitcoins and other cryptos and enjoy! All of them will go up. We would have a happy 2018.

That's true , but guess what will happened when it goes down below $12,000 ?
Just prepare for the real crash and set your cut loss position , bitcoin always be a high risk investment yeaaa people forgot about that.
Some people says that before it moving up there should be a little flash drop , is this the time? Not sure actually .

Maybe it will go below 10k for a brief moment, but I don't think bitcoin will drop much lower. Anything under 14k is cheap right now. If you set your goal for BTC around 40k usd by the next two months. Alts however are starting to lose their ground and will probably keep declining over the next few weeks/months. With Bitcoin rising more people will switch their alts for BTC, like they have always done.

It's truly saddening to see Bitcoin rates go down or on the low edge of its value compared to what it has reached last year. I really thought that after the holidays its rates would near its remarkable rate of almost $20,000, but I was wrong. Bitcoin is truly unpredictable but let's not lose our hope that it can regain a greater rate. As sad as it may seem, I feel like its value would reach $10,000 or even a lower rate before it rises again. This is a sign for us to be just patient and seize the opportunity to purchase more for investments.

Perhaps below 12k cause the percentage of bitcoin in the graph shows a red arrow which means it will continue to decrease .and as of now we have no idea when will be the growth rate will continue to increase because also of the panic selling in the market nowadays, maybe it takes to long before the valued recover.

from my experience and knowledge about bitcoin. When the bitcoin was started the price of bitcoin will be less than $1 in 2009 but slowly slowly the price of bitcoin was increased by increasing the demand of bitcoin or by increasing the number of people towards the bitcoin and the bitcoin become famous all over the world and become the topmost Cryptocurrency in all the country . So the price of bitcoin will be low as maximum as possible will be $10000 not more than this the price of bitcoin will be low.

As long as people don't understand this market, and think Bitcoin can become worthless the next day, these things will continue to happen. It just shows how people are straight gambling with their savings, in the hope to ride this market's 'hype' and to gain some growth as well. Funny thing however is that these people chase quick profits, but the only thing they are doing is swallowing quick losses. Their ignorance and incompetence makes them lose out time on time again. It has been like that for years now, and it will continue like this as long as people don't research the market they invest in.

The good thing is.. there are more and more people understanding the market today.  So this will definitely reassure us of Bitcoin of not being worthless.  Bitcoin might go down due to FUD but those who believes in it and understand it will definitely buy and take profit on this opportunity.  Even with researches, people with weak hands will sell their holdings anytime the crash sign appear.

I say it would go as low as 13,000 or 12,000 but after that, it regains its price again but necessarily the extreme just like what happened last year. But it will be on a consistent basis where the price could increase continuously no that I am it would be stable going up but there will be a positive vibes on it.

I think between 12k-13k cause the growth rate still fluctuated on 14k.  Like what happened before December bitcoin valued suddenly fall dip into 13k then after a days the valued increase and reach new record.  I hope it will happen again cause i have doubts this scenario will stay long ithink after this month or else this circumstances will be a permanent if the panic selling will not stop from the market.

It seems that the price is recovering right now, a lot of people said that it was going to be crashing, just like the OP said, but now it is over $14,100 each one of them, it seems that it really wants to recover and be touching a new all time high soon

for me, the price will stay in 13k-14k because we see that the value price of bitcoin increase liittle by little. but i am sure this scenario will take up to next month. i'm hoping that the value price of the bitcoin has increased dramatically like last december.

On what basis your point is? I don't think the price would be low that much or near the 10K level. Right now bitcoin have crashed in the market because of the current event in south korea where big exchange companies were raided because of their irregularities.

The South Korea issues was just a FUD. It was clearly to create panic to the investors (created by whales in the market i guess). We see more clearer right now, the decision of the ban was not true.

I don't think Bitcoin will go much lower than it already has, certainly not below 10K. If it were to hit 10K, everyone would want to buy because the 10 thousand margin is sort of a milestone and a threshold of bitcoin's price. If it was to go that low, it would quickly bounce back up in a matter of minutes.

However, anything could happen, and from here on we can either see the price settle, rise, or drastically fall. Its anyone's game.

Though for sure more and more companies are looking into accepting Bitcoin and using the blockchain on a corporate level, and thats only a win-win situation for bitcoin.

Right now it is going straight low.

Bitcoin wont be lower than $14000 thats just not possible unless no one uses it. Stay tuned for more though it will rise but not a lot thats for sure.

We have the same thought, I guess bitcoin won't be lower than $14000 because every each time passing by the demand of bitcoin is now high that makes the bitcoin price to grow. This year cryptocommunity will become more dense so expect that that there will be a high number of transaction will happen then bitcoin will now increase again. Therefore, yes bitcoin will decrease but it is not severe because bitcoin will soar high.

We cant actually predict or say with full sureity that how down or up will it go as it is too volatile that predictions can always be wrong. Now the market is not favouring all the coins not only cryptos as there is downfall of almost 15% in most of the coins. But soon the prices will rise when everything comes under control so have faith and then it will not go down for long period.

I think if everything stays as it is then $12k to $10k is pretty much a given after which Bitcoin will start doing its thing and punching down walls again. That said, if the Chinese government does its thing (or if Roger Ver beats them to it) and enough hashing power is suddenly withdrawn from the network then a network stall, regardless of how long it goes for, is going to give the media a field day. I see it going back to prices from early 2017

I don't see how South Korea can make any difference now on the price since their exchanges are excluded from coinmarketcap.com, which most people visit.
Bitcoin will be survive for ever because it’s not a common currency its totally different than any other currency and it bring revaluation in world that’s why everyone they are joining bitcoin and some of the countries they make bitcoin legal they are also supporting bitcoin because it’s the only hope for countries and a lot of people have changed their life’s just because of bitcoin so there is no doubt that bitcoin will go for ever.

Well it's about $10500.00 at the moment. Surely many are panic selling contributing to this great decrease as well as due to FUDs spreading all around not just here in the forum but other social media.
Contrary, I think the bloodbath will attract more investors due to cheaper prices. Many will be on the ride again soon.
I will be holding my coins not because I am expecting hikes but because I have faith in bitcoins as a technology advancement.

People who are not long term investors will usually make a panic dump sale at first sign of trouble, it's logical beacuse if someone needs to buy something that cost him 14k USD he could bought it few days ago with 1 BTC and now he is around 4K USD short  with same amount of BTC from few days ago ;D

To figure out exactly is not that easy,so nobody could accurately tell how low will bitcoin go because there is no permanent pattern for that, it all depends on the fluctuation of the market of when to pump high and low, so for me it really depends on how it is being used and supported so that it could go a long way, or drops ultimately

You need to take a step back and look at things in the grand scheme. Of course it's sad to see 40% or so of your worth wiped out, but there have been many dips like this in the past and thus far bitcoin has always recovered and gone on to new ATHs. Look back in a few months or years and probably this will be a distant and forgotten memory.

Just wait and watch all we need is patience and need to control our emotions and do not do panic selling which impacts more in negative sense to the already bleeding crypto market bitcoin will come back stronger in a month or two month's time for sure like it has been doing all these years.

Pretty sure we have seen the worst of it and at the same time it did drop below 10k for a brief moment last week but has recovered nicely since then. The recovery has been such that I don't think it will dip below 10k again, but I am no bitcoin charting expert it could happen at a moments notice too.

The way I see, I don't think bitcoin is going down below $9,000 again. This is because it has done its complete correction for this time and so shouldn't get back there. Also, the popularity is getting high , meaning more people are coming into it.

Yes, new people of the biggest the reason why bitcoin places have scaled this much high prices so far. Only due to the adoption by new investors and the big investments they are bringing in to bitcoin ecosystem have help bitcoin to scale $20k price levels in last year and we can expect that trend to continue in this year also so we cannot expect bitcoin to correct again below $10k price levels.

I'm not expecting any more downfall here after hence we can see bitcoin prices slowly moving toward $20k price levels in this month and by end of this year we can expect bitcoin prices to get at least 10 times more growth from the current price levels.

Price seems to have gone even lower today. Biggest reason i think is that people still don't know whether this pump is for real or just a bull trap. For me, it's just the start of a recovery and it's nothing special that we're seeing dumps along the way.

Main support level is still at $11k in my opinion. It's going to be hard in the short term for bears to dump their coins down under $11k. And when the price goes below that, people will buy up the cheap coins as soon as possible.

Vice versa, major resistance is at $13k. Once that is broken we can officially announce the new bull season.

The problem is, Bitcoin Core has become vaporware. Endless promises that will not be kept, that cannot be kept.

SegWit, barely being used while creating new transaction attack vectors.
Lightning Network, mathematically impossible to even work and is overhyped to solve everything, which it wouldn't even if it could work. Nobody addresses the big problems it introduces. Plus it's a pain in the a** to use in the first place.

Once mainstream media starts publishing about this prices will drop back sub $1000 very quickly.

Bitcoin is done, it simply offers nothing anymore in these days.

Ah yea i can hear the comments already "Bitcoin is a store of value, not a currency."
Oh is it? What happened to "Decentralized peer-2-peer digital cash." as stated in the whitepaper?
Remember that was the goal of Bitcoin before it got taken over.

Why would Bitcoin be used as a store of value and not a different digital crypto that DOES work as a digital currency AND a store of value..?

Exaclty, like i said, Bitcoin is only going down to where it belongs, at the bottom.

LOL here we go again.

This time it's different and there will not be a bounce.

We can tell by the fact that it's just bitcoin crashing and altcoins keep their btc value or even rally!

We're going to close well under the 100-day and drop down to the 200-day HARD!
200-day has some support but i doubt it will hold while everybody is dumping this and moving to good coins and we will revisit pre-2017 levels!

I'm afraid that if the price drops below 10k $ it can reach 8k $. Perhaps the psychological factor will work, which will bring the price even lower, although it is impossible to predict it accurately.

I think bitcoin value can move up to $10,000 below. It is not because I don’t trust in the value of it but it is the reality that anything can can down to extreme bottom and we as users/investors should be ready and willing to take the consequences in case this would happen but we all know that we can only hope for the best since bitcoin will still rise up.

For that actually, were not so sure if bitcoin price can go down to $8k. Because bitcoin price these past weeks has been stabilized at this current price. Maybe it can go down for that amount since market everyday is fluctuating. Thus, let's watch the market if what's the actual rate of bitcoin will go.

Its $10k, obviously it is already around $10k. Or maybe it will get low more up to $8k. But hopefully not less than $8k because that will be too low for bitcoin. I am hoping it will rise again and will hit another ATH's this year.

Well 8k is still a possibility but let's see. We're currently steady at around 11k and support is strong around that figure. Though i'm keeping it cool right now, i'd probably feelna bit disappointed if it dips below 10k. Not that it matters for a long hold though

If it actually drops below round figure of 10K that could be a problem, not so much for long term investors but for casual short-term buyers that driven by massive hysteria could create sale flood and that would crash the price to 8K easily.

15k? Everything is possible and we can only wait and see what is going to happen because we cant control the market
bitcoin almost drops $6000 last year at the end quarter, but when recovered he reached the highest price he ever had $20,000 so for me what matter bitcoin drops.whats important is i trust the coin and i know in just a month it wil go back to track and make another record, and probably if the LN released more chance of growth

Anytime bitcoin fails, this kind of threads are occupying the forum. This is interesting, bitcoin is already there as a solid one. Price makes corrections normally, then what is wrong with bitcoin, I can't understand this.

Also people need to understand that you cannot invest in something and make profits quickly most of those that have made good profits are the ones that have held for a long time, yes you can make profits quick but most of the time that means you can lose that money quickly as well, this is why being methodical about where we invest is the best approach to obtain lasting profits.
