Hello everybody , I am kind of new to this world.
 I have made some investments in the altcoin , I think I have some good coins wich I can trust more in my portofolio like PRL , Onions , Dubai Coin and in my opinion Potcoin also.
 I also have some coins like Verge , Power Ledger , Dogecoin in wich I dont have that much trust but I really just can't sell them , I'm like afraid that they will rise good and I will regret selling them.
 I have some coins on my mind wich I will also like to add to my portofolio but it seems like my only option is to deposit more fiat money and buy them also , because I really can't convince myself to sell any coin :).
 Do any have this problem, have this fear of selling altcoins before they rise from the buy price , I really can't give up on anything I buy If it doesnt make a huge jump to generate some profit :)

I do not know whether I will upset you or rejoice, but everyone is facing such a problem, as many have lost so much money from selling alcotoins at an unnecessary time, and the next day this coin took 100%, so it's up to you to decide!

Why don't you sell them and buy other altcoin to profit earlier than the wait. There will be more opportunities than you hold your altcoin. plenty of opportunities for you to make a profit. short-term buying and selling is a good idea (trader) . However it would be more adventurous work.
or keep your altcoin if you have faith that it will increase in the future

You could as well have said that you have a severe case of FOMO. Fear of Missing Out, that is, missing the opportunities. As you can see, it is so common that it even has an acronym for it, so it happens to everyone more or less.

In any market is hard to time the market and when you try you could lose much or regret the move. The best action you could keep the coins you have faith and sell the others for better coins or opportunity.

In the end, a certain moment you need to recalibrate the investment.

i think the best thing to do in this time of the year is to hold your alt because i regret on an alt that i didn't hold which had made a lot of upraising  know so i decided to hold and keep holding my altcoin until the reach a respectable price.

You need to determine really promising coins, let them be about 10 pieces, so that would be diversified.

Put some of your money into each of them. If you believe in a coin, then it does not make sense to produce it, but to keep all the coins too. So approach this matter wisely.

In general, I recommend that you invest in blockchains, they always bring a lot of X's  ;)

It already depends on what purpose you sell, if you are selling to buy second coins then there is little to worry about, and if you want to sell and withdraw then think good or not too early

You need to remove these thoughts from your mindset because they are not healthy and long term will lead to you losing money, if it helps then consider it from this point of view. Do not think if they will increase further but think instead of the opportunity cost, that being the other coins that can greatly outperform them. Also you need to consider the effects of losing your investment as well as missing out on greater increases. You've got an extreme case of FOMO my friend and you need to rid yourself of it.

 I have invested quite a lot by now in my 2 weeks in crypto , and I can say that my coins that I hold are valued of almost triple right now , but it's hard to selling anything because on a good rise any coin can bring me some serios cash , maybe if I have invested like 50$ a coin it will be a lot easier.
 I have also bought some rigs of Vega64 for mining and I think I will try making short tradings from what the mining will produce so I dont risk anymore FIAT.
 I can't say I have a full purpose , I think I would like to withdraw some if they moon , but the majority will be reinvested , maybe people talking here of rising x10 , x20 , x100 so easy , makes the job of selling so hard.

You can't convince yourself to sell any coin? Then just keep on holding it and if there are other coins that are getting your attention then you don't have choice but to pick some bucks on your wallet or savings.

Nothing grow without corrections. So just wait for one more extreme growth of one of your alt and then sell it. Anyway you will have enough time to re-buy it after price correction!

Profit is profit even how small it is. What's important is you do not lose money. We just cannot be too greedy in trading because we may lose more than what we aim to gain. What you can do is hold on to some coins with great potential for profit in a long term. Then just play with the rest for you to get some earnings here and there. And just roll whatever profit you gain from them.

There are no other reason for keeping or selling your altcoins. I think the most appropriate thing to do is from the start identify first your strategy. Are you long term investor or short term investor. After deciding which strategy you want make another plan. Example if you choose you are only short-term create a trading plan. Follow your trading plan religiously. Buy low sell high price will vary according to the market demand and supply.

You should always set a target in which you can sell your altcoins and not regret after selling it because the price always fluctuates a lot, nobody knows what's gonna happen tomorrow, the price can get higher or even it can get lower.

I sell them, mostly they rise after I sell but I do not regret because I know they will rise but it is not always like that. The market can enter a bear cycle and you may not be able to sell your coins at a good price.

Funny problem, but all of us with it to some extent faced. You need to understand that all assets in relation to each other are in motion - something is becoming more expensive, something is becoming cheaper. If you are psychologically difficult to get out of the asset, which has risen in price, do it in parts. For example, sell 20% of the coin with its growth of 50% (you can set any other level). Thus, you insure yourself against a possible lowering of the price after growth and diversify. If you act on such an algorithm in trading pairs, not with fiat, but with coins / coins you will end up with a balanced portfolio of altcurrencies.

Op, you sound greedy because crypto currency is some thing that you keep holding forever for reason been that its value will continue to increase day after day except if you don't have much financial responsible to take care of at any point in time soon. Yes that's how we make profit if you are investor looking for long term investment then you can leave it for years but if you are dependant on crypto for earnings like most people do nowadays then the best thing would be sell it when it rises instead of waiting for it to reach to peak and then ending up with a dump.

Patience is a virtue. In my opinion its the most important attribute that one needs when doing business in cryptocurrency markets. This said, I would stick to my picks even if they are tanking, I would not sell because there is a temporary loss. Always remember why you invested in the first place in the coin. But if you dont have confidence in the coin anymore for some reason its of course also legit to sell before you have generated profit. Sometimes its wise to cut losses and move on. But never rush decisions and act emotional! Always think through all the options and then decide.

Other than a few coins I really believe in I don't have this struggle. In fact I could also sell them if I didn't believe in them any longer. It's not healthy to hold on to coins out of fear.

For me, if you are already in profit then sell. As long you are already earning sell some and half of it is for long term investment. If you know the project if there is a future and more to offer then hold, and if you are not in need of money so hold. Well it still depends on you.

If you have an altcoin that is not yet giving you a good profit in the meantime, try holding it as long as you see that it will give you a amount of profit. Most holder of altcoins are not selling their altcoin until it give them a x2 or x3 fold so it will be a good profit. Keep your coins wait and sell at the highest price when you make profit. Don't worry altcoins will grow soon in 2018. When bitcoin falls altcoins will increase. When bitcoin up altcoins will down slowly, the supply and demand law.

I will hold my coins. I do not know why so many panicked sell their coins, but I think it's mostly people who buy in with risk capital and then wonder in the end why they can not pay their bills.

I prefer to trade in a short time, I will sell the altcoin I have when the price increases and I have benefited. Although the benefits are not too great but it seems to me quite meaningful when we can repeat as much as possible. I do not like to wait long because sometimes the price does not increase compared to the current we buy it, even the price has decreased drastically. So for me it's better to do it faster than having to wait without any certainty.

Trust me, as time flies by, you missed more and more potential coins because you stuck in those coins. If you really don't wanna sell those coins because you believe on it, then the only option you have is to deposit again.

Get some of the top coins. They are more stable and profit is almost guaranteed. Dips do happen, but they are temporary. Don’t be afraid to explore and take some risks. This is the only way you can truly earn.

There is a feeling when you do not understand what you do with this coin. But in my opinion, let them lie down for some time such altcoyins. What kind of coins grow faster in price, which is the other way around. There is not always a guess.

I sell an altcoins if Im already in profit, but in my portfolio those coins worth holding as long term. I always check the updates of their project so I can decide whether to hold or sell enough. So take profit if you are in need or not might as well to hold.

You should know how to manage mate,  you have to look if you are still earning to that coin or not,  selling is good too just haave a great and good timing of selling your coin so you can have your profits too and youwillnot regret too.

Yes we all have the same problem which is regret after we sell, the price soar high and I have been in that situation for a lot of time, but my principle in trading is simple as long as I make profit then I am satisfy, I can't predict when it will be the peak price, and I also don't know when it will having huge fall, so I set the target price, once it's reaching that point then I will sell it

It's a good practice to do some rebalancements to your portfolio every 21 days or so. You could also fix small percentage of profits from most rising coins and add some new ones to your portfolio.

Definitely. But what we or I do is to hold it for a much longer period of time but does not necessarily mean a year or so more on lets say 4 to 6 months. You really have to check out the volume of the market for you to be able to get the most out of it. One more if you are new it would be really helpful to join other closed group excluding this site to whom members are really into altcoins in that way they can advise you what to and what is not. Sometimes these people know more because of their experiences, it helps for me.

I have no regrets about selling coins. Since they still got their profits. But I have released money for the purchase of new coins, which may in future give a big increase. But I have a rule not to sell the coins completely. I some part, even a little , but leave for a long time.

Yes I have done that many times specially when I see that the altcoin is nothing but just a garbage in my wallet... but there is one time when I sold my altcoin that I was keeping for a month, I sold it less the amount of its worth after 2 weeks, yes that altcoin go skyrocket on its market value... I only sold it for 1.5% from the 100% market value it reached 2 weeks after I sold it and I really felt disappointed on myself because of that experience.

Why would you sell if your not needed? I mean if you dont need money for now like to spend in your everyday needs Dont sell it just hold coins in your wallet It might be very profitable in the future I only sell coins when Im in need of money I advise just keep it in your wallet.

Sometimes I am thinking of the possibility that what if I sell this coins now and then it moons then I would miss a lot of profit and then there is a possibility as well that the price would go down which in effect I would have lesser profits so it is about having a plan of when to take profit because sometimes because of greediness I end up in a loss selling it below my buy price because I am still hoping for the price to go up. I sell my altcoins depending on my plan like if the altcoin is newly listed then there is a tendency for it to double, or even 10x in price so I would just sell half of it when I double the value so that I am only playing with profits and I am not so stressed that way watching the price from time to time.

its very normal for newbie to be afraid of losing a chance to generate profits in the future, you have so many coins that you know it will grow some day and you also have coins that you believing that its not a good coin but you cant let it go because you are afraid to miss a ride in these coins if it move/pump soon. the mainstream is hold all your coins that you think that had a potential to grow in the future, and buy some alts that also had a potential to grow for you to generate profits. don't be afraid of losing if you think that all your coins had to grow someday.

I don't have a plan to sell my Altcoins. Holding 700000 CND, more than 36Million Kik and few other coins. They have already returned my investments by following my crypto rule.


My Rule:
Invest in best ICO's, only 2 or 3 ICO in a month and when it comes to exchanging will do short time flip and then hold for a long time.

Better if you set your goals whether when you want to sell your coins. Holding a coins is powerful rather to buy low and sell high. Someone take profit in 30% gain, someone wants 100%. Its a matter of choice when you want to take your profit.

Yes I can sell my altcoins, you have to be forward focussed when investing in crypto, no point looking back to second guess or rue your decisions. Maybe you should try top slicing on your investments? When your altcoin has risen by a certain amount you then take out as least your original stake and if possible stake plus some profit. You can then leave the remaining coins running with now financial downside risk to your original trading fund.

With trading one should not have the fear of missing out the increased price. Each trading decision need to be taken based on the market as well the personal requirement. Because the market is unpredicted and the same might lead to a price drop in an unexpected time period by which you were expecting growth to take place.

I will not sell my coins now because i will buy them for hodl and take a profit in a long run. If you buy your coins to take a good profit in long run, don't sell them but if you want to take some profit(s) from this coins you can sell them when they gain more value.

You can exchange your coins into bitcoin or other common coins such as ethereum or bitcoin cash to exchanges which are widely recognized and available for everyone that needs them. You should check the prices first before making any move with your coins though, you can always regret or rejoice from your decisions.

The decision is for the owner of the coin to take, it can't be taken for you whether to sell your altcoin, have an exit anytime you felt enough gain has been made on that particular altcoin.

I don't for now, because currently although I have $150,000 amount of assets and I still hold them because I'm confident that my coins will offer me $1M this quarter. I don't want to see it fall so I will dump them all and start to build up my future outside cryptocurrency, and it's always the best thing you can do if you already get your profits. I'm one of the luckiest guy on Earth earning $1M in just a couple of quarters through Cryptocurrency.

It's hard to sell altcoins to other people because there is a lot of scammers out there, we don't know who, they just might have a friendly conduct towards each other but still you don't know who you are negotiating with. You could just maybe sell it to a brandly known company.

If you decide to become a trader you shouldn't be afraid to sell. This is normal in this kind of sphere. You can look at the statistics of the cost of coins, compared them all and identified the most promising. So you can sold rest coins and invested in something more weighty.

Everyone has this problem, a fear that when you sell out your coins, the value will increase but I guess if you are a trader and you have a goal on how much increase will be good enough to sell for profit I think you'd be able to overcome this fear. I prefer being a coin collector so I haven't tried selling any yet. ;D

If you do not sell your altcoins investment then you will never get the profit of your investment. I suggest you sell a few percent of your investment and reinvest in new projects and better projects.

We all had this fear at the begining dont worry tho. eventualy you have to get used to it. some times you win  big. some times you win less some times you lose few some times you lose everything. We all had the same thoughts as you do :P so just get used to it and dont worry . every1 goes throught that.

  This is a common problem that everyone encounters, my advice is not to jump to sell and hold coins, so some may not grow, but some can grow fast on what you earn and make money.

In the kriprto world we must learn to be patient, because we do not know when prices will rise. You should set a default on how much altcoin will be sold. That way if the price standard has not been met you will still hold the altcoin.

yes you can always sell those altcoins through trading..if you dont have trust on those coins you can check trading platforms and trade it with bitcoins..you might not need those coins but for some they invest on those hoping it will pump in the future. or you can just hold on to it until prices for the coins you have will pump. everything is possible since coins are highly volatile it can change its value anytime.

Don't be afraid to take profit on your altcoins. Just take atleast 50% when you doubled and if goes to high take another 50%, if goes to deep just rebuy again. Remember to take always profit so those whales out there won't easily eat us. :D

Cryptocurrencies are very volatile. The news can lead to the fact that the value of coins will fluctuate with great interest in just a few hours.

Some of us have a target price before we sell them all and i think that's what the OP is trying to do, yet you are right that it is better to buy another altcoin when the price is too small yet but it is completely different to those bounty hunter which is not buying but rather working to get a free tokens. If OP is just like that i guess you can't tell him to buy another or just sell their tokens because they have a certain price target before they have to sell it.

I advise you to withdraw most of the funds and invest them in such cryptocurrencies as Bitcoin or Ethereum. You will not lose anything but you will be sure that this crypto will bring you profit and you will not lose your money.

I guess all of us been there before. When you are new to this business you always fear you miss an opportunity. yes i do feel the same and afraid to sell my coin. at some point i do afraid holding it. its so confusinh and im trying to figuring out when to sell and when i have to stop holding it .

The best way if you were not sure if you sell it or not is to hold it until the time comes that you are ready to sell it in more profits, but i suggest that be patient until you find the best that you sell it.

I always sell and buy coins and altcoins, if I know that the price is right, because I don't to have regrets if I can't sell my crypto currency at the right. Since fluctuation of all crypto currency in the market was not predictable, I guess it's better to sell it immediately to assured that you was earned income.

Of course you can sell your altcoins, sometimes for a high price and sometimes if your unfortunate it may be lower, but that decision is based on you if you want to sell or hold your altcoins until it reached it's prak market value.

Yes,that's true you just have to be patient, because sometimes if you will wait there is an instances that your profit is bigger than what you are expected too. Better it hold, and wait patiently.

As much as possible I don't want to sell my Coin/Token, I would sell it maybe 2 to 3 years from now or if the token/coin reach my target value.

Yes I always sell my altcoins just like any body else in the crypto world with no regrets at all... of course I'll gonna sell it in the right time when I think that I'll gonna gain a large profit... I will never regret in selling that altcoin even if that altcoins market value will still rise. For me profit is already profit however small it is, so with the use of those profit I can be able to invest it again to some low market value altcoins which has a chance to increase its market value and with that I'm that I'll gonna get back what I invested in a short period of time plus the profit that I will be gaining.

well said. i do lose so much but i do still holding my coins. almost loss 50% are loss in my portfolio. i will keep holding  it cause i afraid i would regret to sell my coin now.  next month will be the best month for cryptocurrency i believe it and i hope it will be.

If you have a altcoin that has not yet given you any profit. Then keep it, as long as you can see that it gives you the amount of profit. It depends on you. But I think it would be better to keep the profit if there is no need for profit.

You can sell your coins anytime but now market is correcting a lit bit after a very long rise and you have to wait for the correction to over and when market stabilize at a certain level and start rising, then you can sell.

I have the same delima when I think of dumping and buying back because I might just loss some of the tokens instead of gaining more. Tokens like NEO and XRP and somewhat like valuable to me. If for instance I'm going to sell then I might have the hard time finding when to buy the coin back for a lower price. Right now definitely not the time to sell your coin because the market crash. There's a lot of people with similar situation, you should hold the one that you trust the most, because when the price fall, you have reason to keep holding them. If you miss the opportunity with other coin then it's fine, as long as your coin is good then it will go up in the future.

I think the answer to your question is whether the price of the token you own have reached your target. Because it would be better if we will have a target return to secure our investment.

If I will sell them now, I would be a loser. So my best shot is to hold them a little longer. Market may be not be as stable as before but that is how it works. But, it depends on if you have already reached your target price, then you may sell them. We have different reason why we sell our coins, I hope outlr coins will meet those reasons.
