There is still some luck involved, but probably it's a big problem in poker, too. (I'm no poker player, so I don't know how serious of a problem it is). In chess it would be a 100% win unless you fight against another computer (then a draw probably). There is no perfect poker bot.

If you want to make a wager on a friendly game of chess though, I suggest posting a proposal under the gambling section. I'm not very good but I might take you up on it some time.
