After banning domestic cryptocurrency exchanges now they also want to ban exchanges from outside their country? so how do they implement that if people from their country can just use virtual private network to access those blocked websites, remember that facebook and google are banned in china but there are still ways to access that. I doubt that can stop people from accessing those exchanges. China have to accept the fact that they cannot stop cryptocurrency. Btw as of now south korea still didn't shutdown all exchanges on their territory, it is still a proposed ban. Do not worry, it's just a temporary situation, they can not ban bitcoin all over the world
Most of people are panicking and are selling their bitcoins, but i think that is not a good idea, this up & down is normal in crypto markets.

China is in the list of banning bitcoin. Earlier China closed a major mining pool. This really bit affected bitcoin growth while this happened. But if you look at on the other side, we have other new countries like RUSSIA and JAPAN have adapted bitcoin into their countries. They legally announced and accepted bitcoin.

Bitcoin growth is going to affect the country economy. You can take this in two ways. This would affect current fiats value, or if bitcoin is accepted, the respected country is going to have a massive growth in wealth. Not only the country, but also the citizens as well.

As you said we can access the overseas exchanges if they shut down on their countries virtually but many people won't do that because China will follow the strict rules if anyone get caught using they might have to be in jail for years. For the people who don't care about these will continue to use bitcoins but we can't say all use bitcoins even if it was banned do it might affect the price of bitcoin more.
But I think the ban is not implemented yet so we have to wait to know what is really happening. They maybe temporarily doing this kind of precautions until they know how to control the bitcoin usage.

I think this is unfortunate if there is a country that prohibits bitcoinpadahal activities according to howas at least bitcoin has been able to help in terms of welfare that can be found by people who occupy a country. I do not think that should be done by the government but a ban but the government should be able to better direct the bitcoin to be more controlled again. also I think if the problem is on taxation I think the government can to give more policy by arranging the tax system and no need to prohibit.

I know one of friends in China. She was used to chat with me on Facebook before. then later China banned FB. Then she told me she can't access to fb which means even though she can use proxy she wont use them. may be fear of punishment in case got caught. they have alternative chinese social media named QQ. She asked me to register in it.

yeah may be as you said they do kind of precautions until they know how to control the bitcoin usage.

A chinese ban on crypto currency while it will have some effects on crypto trading generally, but it will have minimal effects for now, people from china have not been able to put their weight in numbers and financial muscle to bear on the crypto world for now due to restrictions, further restrictions will not have any significant effects as their contributions are really not that significant. But imagine if there were no restrictions and we feel the full weight of the chineese.

Firstly, South Korea isn't going to shut down exchanges, and secondly, I can't wait for China to withdraw itself from the crypto space completely. I even find it quite interesting and weird at the same time that China hasn't already done so years ago already. If we look at how paranoid the Chinese government is, these 'China will do this or that' articles wouldn't even be part of discussions anymore. Also, the more governments are pushing people away from them, and with such measures it's definitely making things worse, the more people will dive into P2P markets. It's not for nothing that after the shutdown of the exchanges there, the P2P market has literally exploded, and this happened basically in every country with similar measures being forced through by their government.

As you think why so many drama from CHINA  towards Crypto? As you you think why China behave like this regarding this new currency trend? They are a communist state ( even though now they follow market economy still ruling party communist)

What exactly is wrong with China and Korea government? Do they really enjoy manipulating their citizens rights and people around them? They should just go ahead and ban it all! That's the worst they can do, at least we have been hearing this same stories every now and then, with no action. Even if South Korea government shut down exchanges , their citizens that wants to trade on Cryptos will still do it, this is the new age, anything can happen.

This could be a very bad news for crypto currency market because many traders, miners and investors of cypto currency are from China. If China banned there will be a void in the demand of cryptos .That's why more crypto currencies price falling in a single day.I hope this will be a temporary ban or the crypto field will face struggling in the future.

Repeat after me: " Communism is bad overall and it doesn't work".

If China completely backs out of crypto world, how will that actually reflect the rest of the crypto. Some of the biggest miners are from China, so will that bump the price in the long run?

Probably lack of regulation to tax bitcoin income, in the SK case, but in the case of China well communist governments aren't known to provide such a freedom to it's people, it's all about the control.

Socialism will not work for 20,30 more years from now. Because still Western Capitalist countries strong enough to control the world. China economy is not socialist economy anymore. They opened their economy long ago. but still China government is a communist one as the one and only ruling party is china communist party. It has been easy for them plan and achieve targets as they don't have a opposition parties to bring objections. China got the fastest economic growth rate in the world, however, I agree with you on controlling things. but what to do, that how it is... hope This news wont affect the crypto much..

I hope this will be a temporary ban or the crypto field will face struggling in the future.

China doesn't ban something temporarily. If they end up banning something, and especially when it comes to how much of a threat it is, it is a permanent ban. China is a huge market, but we shouldn't continue to focus on a non contributing factor anymore. Nowadays the growth is more distributed than ever before, and that's exactly what we should aim for. At the end of the day, we'll get that growth anyway. People have said that if Chinese exchanges were forced to shut down, this entire market would no longer be able to grow, but just look at where we stand right now. Even with how we have seen the price go down in the short term, we're still +1000% up compared to what the price was last year in January.

I think Goverment naturally don't like decentralized thing, like Bitcoin.  but decentrallization will be the trend in coming years, right?  if the answer yes in your mind,  just ignore such news.  Bitcoin has proved its value in past years with overcoming difficulties.

That is what every thing will still resort to but what is surprising to me is that a lot of other countries that are banning bitcoin following China's footstep without even considering their own economic needs or whether the potentials that bitcoin will bring in terms of revenue generation in form of taxes and most importantly whether they have have the technological and human capital to enforce the rule of ban. In some countries today, its a criminal offence to take alcohol, to visit the brothel, to gamble, to eat some pork, to watch porn, engage in the use of weed and concaine etc but with all of those, there are multi billion dollars companies running underground and this is the point where they are pushing bitcoin to eventually.

In conclusion to this issue, it is very impossible to shutdown the crypto industry wherever it is specifically in China or Korea, in major cities like beijing China and Seoul korea, it might happen to be banned or dispose the idea of crypto. But, always to remember every country has different ip addresses and internet connection, so, transactions from underground and mainstream is unstoppable especially crypto currency in other words money. Everybody wants money and crypto is a huge source of money.

I think china is not the only biggest market in crypto trading, although there are other countries that have the biggest market other than china, indeed the impact of influence from china can affect the market price. the Chinese decision forbids its inhabitants from trading on cryptocurrency because the type of cryptocurrency trade has a very big risk, which china prohibits the trading of cryptocurrency to minimize the risk of market trading.

Yes I too think in that way. But one question, you said China prohibits the crypto trading to minmize crypto trading risk.  When you banned crypto trading how it becomes risk minimizing ? because you totally out of trading and there is no risk at all.

China is moving aggressively towards the cryptocurrency market. This has made the market go down in the last few days, and bitcoin is one of the most affected coin because bitcoin is the most heavily held by Chinese investors. But surely those smart investors will know how to keep their assets.

Gambling occasionally will not turn you into gambling addict but if you began playing seriously and your visit to gambling sites increases as the day passes on, you are becoming hooked into gambling. As you gamble, your need to get more money increases also and greed began to rule your mind. If you follow your greediness in gambling, you will eventually addicted to it. Everyone can become addicted to gambling whether you are young or old and any forms of betting that involved money can make you addicted.

Very bad news for bitcoiner all over the world but one thing for sure is that bitcoin will continue to exist and the trading /investment will continue irrespective of any ban move in China. I also believed that even Chinese that are involve in international business will continue to use bitcoin for an international assignment.

I think banning bitcoin is not a solution as people will still find ways to access it as crypto is not banned all over the world . China has done this before and it doesn't affected bitcoin. Now, South Korea proposed a ban which shook the bitcoin market but its again back on track so we can learn that there is not gonna be a major effect if China does that again. People nowadays are quite smart and can find several ways to trade and use exchanges even if the bitcoin trading gets banned in a country.

China is a very developed country nowadays but I suppose that crypto currency  is a big market, so it’s very difficult to ban of using it.

For a country which isn't democratic then as a citizen you wont really have the choice but to follow on what they do command or the laws imposed once you refused or insist then theres only one way you would go which you will really be imprisoned on violating the laws being implemented.I don't know if I would believe on these kind of news because how many time I do already read up about banning but yet people can still able to engage with.

And sadly, they aren't giving any official statement of what they are going to do. All they say is that bitcoin trading "could" be banned in China, which results in spreading FUDs only. But even if they do ban, it will affect the market shortly but will eventually recover in its price like the same thing that happened last September when the Chinese government banned all domestic exchanges.

If that will be implemented this will be a big problem for crypto people who are living in China. Still it's unverifiable if this Pan Gongheng wants to put crypto trading in China to an end. The article was made by Reuters and I'm not questioning their research ability but still we need to see a real news and verification if this for real. We need to see a confirmation from anyone who's living in China. We had seen the impact before when started banning ICO's, if this happens it will be another big impact for sure.

It really looks like that they are really creating a lot of FUD so that they can say that bitcoin could disrupt their economy or the economy of other countries. Yeah, just like South Korea, they could impact the price short term, however with bitcoins proven record, it will recover from all of this scare and could even go further on its path. The September scenario is one such example. It went down 40%, but then rebounded. So short term it going to be hard to swallow, but eventually it will end up on our favor.

Of course. There is so much money involved, that all types of entities try to get the price to tank with all this fud. It works every time because of how ignorant people in this market are. It has been like that years ago, and it's still like that today. Some times I just get pissed off by how easily people get tricked into thinking that whatever government will ban this or that aspect of the market. No wonder that this fud will keep flowing through this market. If it works all the time, there is basically no reason to stop for the entities behind all this.... The only way to somewhat stop this, is to ignore everything, but that's too much to ask for I guess -- people's ignorance is too much of an obstacle here.

The Chinese government is working on a strategy to clear the trading platform for Chinese users, and they may use technology to prevent links to Chinese users! The purpose of these is to prevent capital outflow and control the capital at home!

Yes agree, Because fear works. Fuds need fear to do its job. I think it will happen forever in the market. because market works with fear and greedy. So Fuds always have a space , I think this is where you have to apply the theory " Buy when other are scared, Sell when others are happy''

China has to accept the fact that they can't stop bitcoin. They can't stop the development of virtual currencies. I think they are afraid of their money.

Sometimes I get a feeling that China is suspicious about Crypto market because they might think This is a conspiracy of westerners to damage their economy. absorb their money and get away. something like that. wit the time if they realized that there is no any harm for the economy from Crypto They will be flexible enough towards Crypto I guess.

How to prevent capital outflow when you are in Crypto market?  all crpto projects are not from China. So it is not preventable to stop flowing their money out of the country. but in return money comes in to country with profit.
I wish if you can explain more in depth how they working on this using strategies you mentioned here.

They are just creating a lot of panic by releasing statement that is double standards. And then those rumor mongers will just capitalized on it by creating more FUD's and false news, creating fear among investors. That's one thing I don't like about China, as if they really want to stay relevant in the crypto currency market. But at behind they really take advantage of the situation by buying it when the price is cheap, without others knowing.

China is constantly fighting against Bitcoin, in fact China is the biggest selling country of Asic Miner and therefore it is generating high profits. Moreover, China never sells new devices, but always sells old devices to customers. So all the devices we buy are originally based on time.

It is also the fault of people believing in it , or maybe not even that any more . But when China fud FUD comes out people already sell because they think it will go down regardless if it is true. So if people in the market are so easy to manipulate who is China to not take advantage of that. The image they have on restricting things is helping them a lot to.

A senior official at the People's Bank of China is reportedly calling for a wider ban on services related to cryptocurrency trading in the country.

Pan Gongsheng, vice governor of the central bank, said, to prevent market risk, the government would apply more strict regulation to end all cryptocurrency trading-related activities and services. The news comes via a Reuters report today, citing an internal memo reviewed by the news agency.

While it's not yet clear whether the reported memo will become immediate policy, the news indicates the continuing severe stance taken by China's top regulators towards curbing cryptocurrency speculation and lowering perceived financial risk in the country.

But if you analyze everything that you say, then it is very unprofitable for the Chinese government, as well as for the Chinese economy, to work in the field of crypto-currency. After all, even the devices that they sell are initially designed for users and miners.

So if people in the market are so easy to manipulate who is China to not take advantage of that.

That's what keeps this fud thriving. People are so stupid to fall for this, that the entities being responsible for the fud that's being pushed into the net have no reason to stop. If you do something that earns you loads of money, and that method works every time you want it to get initiated, why would you ever stop with it? It really makes no sense -- people's ignorance is what keeps fud thriving, and that will likely never change. The get rich quick noobs account for the majority of this market, which directly shows that this fud will keep affecting the market for many more years to come. On the other hand, it's a great happening for each trader being addicted to volatility, because that's what they are looking for. The frustration of one side of this market means profit for the other side. :)

What do you think about Indian government ban on exchanges ?

Its really a bad and sad news that countries  banning on exchanges. Indirectly everything is inter related. There may be some valid reasons for banning bitcoin, but i would say, they are loosing a big asset that they will really regret when the crypto currencies being the main currency in developing the wealth of Russia, Japan and other countries who adapted bitcoin and other crypto currencies. Lets watch.

It is difficult to completely ban cryptocurrencies, but China can regulate it quite rigidly

Just after the Korean news that Korea going to shut down all Crypto exchanges completely. A similar news coming from China now. here is the link for the news

Read this https://www.cnbc.com/2018/01/15/south-korea-to-decide-what-to-do-about-crypto-exchanges-after-talks.html
A ban no matter who issues it, it's not going to stop 100% of the people, just look at drugs, in most countries recreational drugs are illegal and still people get easy access to it, in case this happens the ban is going to discourage citizens that prefer to stay out of trouble and those that choose to continue their activities will have problems finding ways to avoid being detected and suffer the consequences when they are.

Yup. Though banning taking place in few countries, obviously adaptation occurs on the other side in countries like, Japan, Russia and Singapore. The authority calls off banning. But if you look at the citizens, the percentage of traders stopped in their countries would be more, but the percentage of the same traders trading from other countries would uplift the values. Every individual who has experience in bitcoin, would never leave earning it via any source even though their respective authority brings rules against bitcoins and other altcoins.

You can actually engage with it even though it is being already prohibited all over the country but you should really be careful because once caught then you will end up on bars. Banning nowadays is already a normal stuff and somehow an expected thing to happen since not all governments would really have the same treatment to bitcoin or on any other cryptocurrencies.

Reason was, As I think so many people suddenly came to Crypto market in end of the last year, Bitcoin price shouldn't have increased in that fast now I think. That caused the problem that we are facing now :-[
So how do you see the future of this situation ? still positive news are greater than negative news like this for Crypto as we can see. isn't it?

China has been nothing but a problem to crypto, where their announcements were constantly shaking the market up and down due to how big of a deal China was in people's eyes. People were even of believe that if Chinese exchanges were no longer able to function, that this market would fall down so hard, that it likely wouldn't recover anymore. Let me tell you one thing, Bitcoin isn't China, and China isn't Bitcoin. Bitcoin's current growth is more well distributed throughout the world than ever before, and that's something we should be extremely happy with. It means that if one country is about to exit this market, regardless of how big that specific country is, it will not be able to drag down this entire market with it. And honestly speaking, one country shouldn't be able to have such a large impact on the entire market. It makes no sense. Correction is understandable, but that's all it should be.

They create huge impact of downfall if they raised some concerns about banning or anything regarding to crypto's. But let's come to think with it China always announce that but Banning never really happens and I really think that this one made just to create a huge commotion and to gain with the dilemma they created. But reality speaks on this since China is been known well as big market on crypto's they can easily manipulate the price and create those shakes since people around the globe will throw off their coins, It's so so hard to defeat the chinese market even if we calm ourselves on not to look after them and believe that the bitcoin is been scattered and all or shall we say huge numbers of supplies are not been handled by them at this time.

I personally dont like what they do even this. Agree that they are not bitcoin and other way around but somehow they always have the first move, even on this. Also agree that one country cannot be allowed to control the price.

One is for sure now we should expect to see some bigger movement in price for upcoming period.

China truly has no control to drag down the bitcoin itself but the big factor that can china do is that they can bring the price as low as todays price but also the fact that they cannot bring the bitcoin to become negative in the market let us wait bitcoin can recover in the future and maybe those country who turn their back maybe they face bitcoin again.

In a decentralized environment we cannot do anything about a country's dominance in one system. That is the reason China is dominating in bitcoin mining and controlling bitcoin price levels. We must have to agree that huge population is the biggest power of China so they are able to dominate in bitcoin ecosystem in various aspects.

One is for sure now we should expect to see some bigger movement in price for upcoming period.
Yes that is obvious. Even Chinese government is trying to regulate bitcoin in all possible ways, they cannot stop their people from adopting and investing into bitcoins. So, we can expect bigger moment in bitcoin price levels in coming days.

The market is what it is and we cannot change it you can choose to not participate if for you the risk is simply too high but if you decide to participate then you need to accept the risk, it is not rare to find people in the forum claiming how bitcoin is a fraud because they lost money, when in fact they lost money because they did not knew what they were getting into.

I agree with you. I got in to this knowing the risk. There is saying of Warren Buffet, If you don't know what you are doing you are risking your money, Crypto market's recent instability also occurred to due to this new uninformed traders, They came to the market hoping for quick profit as Bitcoin price were rising..and suddenly they became panic sellers due the fear.
Greedy invited them to be in, Fear asked them to exit from it. that's how it works,

They might see bitcoin as a threat to their economy and because they can not control it, they decided to ban the mining and trading of this virtual currency in their land. They don't want any currency that has no direct contribution to their financial growth. They've been considering measure like imposing strict regulation on any exchanges but that plan did not push through and instead they continue their crackdown.

China just always do that banning thing for the past years may it be a rumor or an actual news. It has heavily affected the price of bitcoin in the past and due to the new members of the crypto ecosystem, there are still many who panic sell because of this news but then it doesn't affect the price that much compared to months or years ago because China don't hold that much volume in the crypto world anymore. The Korean news though has a big impact but then as what we have observed in the past, price will recover and then reach all time high again.

I have heard from a news that China did call for a wider band for the reason that most of their transactions on ICO's are fraudulent. People used it to scams  and in return earn quick money. It was said that it was about 90 percent of these transactions. Given this huge percentage, how can a person trust the use of these virtual currencies? So i think it is the reason, but could it be that they (these scammers) are trying not just to make money and they are those who would like to see bitcoins eradicated probably because they felt it is a danger to their business?

There are many valid points mentioned already by others. The nature of China's government is centralized. It is not a democracy. Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are the opposite (in most cases). Aside from wanting to prevent capital from pouring out of the country, it is also possible that China does not want a weakening fiat currency against a currency that has no centralized authority it can control or influence. Therefore, it uses FUD to influence the cryptocurrency market. I do think that if the country decides to ban cryptos entirely, then the market will also even out with the exit of such a major player.

One thing to consider though, worst-case, is whether China will leverage trade deals with countries to also influence them not to use and adopt cryptocurrency.

I thought the news about korea shutting down and banning bitcoin exchanges was fake news but it seems it is under proposal i hope the korean government doesn't consider it. Also china is trying so hard to ban bitcoin when their citizens can easily use tor and virtual private network to access those sites and hide from their government monitoring, no matter what they do they can't fully extinguish bitcoin as long as there is international crypto exchanges.

This is something governments do not see, if a trader is making a killing with bitcoin he is not going to stop just because you banned bitcoin trading, he will move his money to other countries to keep making money and now your citizens are still doing the same thing and even worst you are probably not going to get any benefit out of it, this is why I think japan decide to legalize bitcoin instead of issuing a ban.

All the crypto currencies especially bitcoin is decentralized in nature and there is no one who is having direct control over bitcoin may it be China or any other country. China has only banned the mining of bitcoin and nothing more than that.

The people living in China are still using bitcoin and they are dealing with bitcoin and are investing their money into bitcoin and are making some good money at the end.

All governments are centralized by design it does not matter if you live under democracy, monarchy or a dictatorship, however since the Chinese are under a communist government they are under even more constrains than your average person in the western world, this is why the Chinese government is even more fearful of bitcoin since it gives power to the people which means they lose that power in the same proportion.

bad news yes, for the prohibition that happens will be in the extension again its impact by them not only domestic platfrom but the foreign platform, I can not imagine what the fate of those who still hold their crypto coins, it would be a little difficult to be able to use it freely, but I hope that the government does not completely curtail their access to access and manage their coins either transactions or exchange in fiat currency, but because of the considerable use of crypto in china I do not think they will fully cover and block it

At the moment I no longer believe in news from China because it's all information that aims to bring down the market and the speculators are waiting to buy the coin is extremely cheap. So if you want to join the long-term market, then you should choose a good coin and keep them for a long time and do not care about the market news.

As usual if you believe in any news affecting cryptocurrency and bitcoin, you will end up trapped by FUD. Come on guys, these are all part of the game. Any news bad or good, cannot be taken so much. Just keep your coin for long term and time will come you survive the dip.

Some recent online news says that China wants full control of economic and financial system and will not allow any currency particularly the virtual currencies, which are decentralized, that will undermine their financial stability. This lead to wider crackdowns on ICO, mining and exchanges inside China and restricted its people from joining exchanges outside China. Some chinese exchange operators are still hoping that China would lift its ban on trading and mining someday. Maybe China might wants to develop its own cryptocurrency someday and this is might be one of the reasons why China bans trading on cryptocurrency.

From the beginning of recorded history powerful governments have looked for one thing to become more powerful and once they do that they change their targets to become all powerful, it is obvious to me China is trying to replace the US as the biggest superpower around the world and if they do it they will try to seize control over the world not through war but through the economy and bitcoin is one of the biggest obstacles they are facing if they want to make that a reality.

I believe that in the end Governments will not be able to ban crypto , because technology will always find a way around these bans.
DeepOnion for example released news that they are able to sync their wallet from a location in China using Tor, Obfs4 and Meek.

Governments that decide to ban crypto will eventually come back on their decision.

Interesting title. After reading it, first I am not sure if the contents of the article is truth or not. Secondly ban on Crypto currency will not solve the real issue. I admit regulations are required if Crypto trading becomes mainstream one day. Ban only will encourage illegal  activities.

I am sure Chinese government is smart to make the right decision. For the consumer who wants financial freedom, DeepOnion would be the best options because it has build in TOR, OBFS4 and MEEK integration layer, which allows you to transfer money without being monitored or tracked by the government.

Plus if you join the DeepOnion now, you still have time to join the free airdrops, which is roughly speaking 4% of wallet balance. Why don't you wait any longer, just do it. Check DeepOnion out, you won't regret.

Now it is US,US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) chairman Jay Clayton will give a wide-ranging account of the regulator’s approach to cryptocurrencies in testimony before the US Senate today. It is not big deal I guess governments have to do this, Otherwise what is the point of having governments, Regulations are required,

But I believe the the bitcoin will survive and become stronger!
Shame on the Chinese gov!

Wow just so much FUD and FUD is all it is. Zero backing, zero truth, just people (probably banks and governments) spreading trash to drive down the prices of crypto. So A they can buy more and B to scare you away until the FOMO kicks in.

No way is China going to ban crypto. If you believe that, then you really need to get to know China. Id be much more worried about Korea banning crypto, again I don't believe they would do this.

You know all bans achieve is making people want things more. Ban drugs - people will buy them. Ban guns - criminals will find them. Speed cameras to catch cars - radar jammers and fake plates. Prostitution - people will sell sex for the price of a packet of cigarettes in Coventry (Big Mac is same price). What we need is to invest in projects we believe in. Even if the Shxx its the fan I will be ok with my portfolio. Especially DeepOnion due to TOR, OBFS4 and Meek integration. You can try to bank things, but that makes people work harder to find ways around problems with real solutions.

Meh we all know China or the media talking about China is always trying to spread the “ban” or fud every few months or so but definitely why I think privacy coins will be huge in 2018 especially ones like DeepOnion that have the newest version of tor, OBFS4 and meek which is censorship circumvention. As soon as this red goes away expect huge gains back up to their ATH and beyond because of this and the other features coming out soon.

Nowadays ? It has always been and it will always be.
Check out the same scenario that happened last year with the China ban on cryptocurrency that went round, before some people got to know after panicking and dumping that it was a suspension on ICOs until further notice.

Yes, these are just ways to play with the market and the emotion of traders. Some usually fall for it, panic and dump, while some who already know their pranks take it as nothing, which exactly means nothing.

Even what the op said is wrong… from what the Heading said– China calls for a wide ban on Cryptocurrencies– while the news says that the PBoC (people’s bank of China) officials calls for a wider ban on cryptocurrency trading in China. So which means that they are calling for a ban on cryptocurrency trading in China, and not in the whole wide world. And from the way I have been seeing things, I don’t think it is easy for them to do such, cause it has been a long time since they started this, but they haven’t succeeded much. It might take them years to succeed.

China didn't ban crypto currency but they block the exchange but it is not official information from the government. Yesterday I have seen in Facebook some one posted a car company selling their card BtC, ETH, and BTC. So this is another positive news for cryptos.

They have been known for this, but the best is to take their crazy bans as a cockroach fart because at the end of the day, it means nothing.

I dont think they can ban all crypto trading. They cant even fully extinguish crypto trading in their country. Yes, they succesful ban all the exchanges, but how about the other form of crypto trading, like, over the counter and overseas crypto to crypto trading? These kind of trading is still available for some chinese people out there.

I agree.
We are already seeing projects like DeepOnion and SpectroCoin that are using TOR, MEEK and OBFS4 protocols to enable it's Chinese users to continue, despite the laws and regulations  :)

Im telling you:
The government will continue regulating and the online community will keep FUD'ing, but in the end, the technology will end up winning.

Whilst the Chinese firewall is impressive, it cant stop all coins,

For example DeepOnion running with the new OBFS4 Tor upgrade can bypass this - they did tests and posted the results on the forums which was a great success.

I think its a coin that should be added to most portfolios.

yea , that' true .
The government of China is monitor exchange platform in serious , the first question is IP limit .
So , I think we need DeepOnion . There is a new feature now . DeepOnion is based on TOR and it can be synced successful now without using VPN.

They can't, that is why they are turning up the noise and the FUD so they scare the most people they can, this is only going to buy them time, and it seems they are going to try to tame the market with all the nonsense about futures but I do not think that is going to be possible since bitcoin is not gold and bitcoin can be more easily traded than gold so their plan is going to fail.

I often compare Crypto to "illegal Downloading". For years governments, corporations and other various teams have tried to stop it, and as a result have made it more popular than ever. Everytime they removed a release group or search engine, a bigger, better and popular one has taken it's place.
I suspect the same with Crypto.

As you stated, we are seeing this now. Bitcoin is the primary target, but in the sidelines the likes of DeepOnion have developed almost unstoppable coins which are untraceable (you can't identify who sent/received and you can't identify where in the world). We are in the brink of integrating Crypto into everything as well which will make banning Crypto very blurred (imagine an Android OS which Crypto is built into).

Honestly, I wish we could move away from China because this country is worrying me somehow because of their capability to really take Bitcoin price down which is as you know the gold standard the whole crypto market is relying on... But it's not as easy as it is, we live in a very globalized and interconnected world. On the other hand, I can understand the Chinese government is concerned by the arrival of new cryptocurrencies like DeepOnion which can easily bypass their firewall and also concerned about mainstream citizens loosing money investing in this highly volatile market or simply by the general decentralization philosophy of crypto. Possibly they won't give up on crypto and find a way to regulate it in an acceptable way, otherwise they will just loose to competitors like South Korea and Japan...

We can move away from China, and to be more precise, we should have taken distance from China at the moment they forced their exchanges to shut down. From the moment the exchanges there weren't operating anymore, China should have lost its importance, and to a certain extent, it did lose importance. The main problem here is that regardless of what China has done against crypto, people somehow continue to pay attention to what's happening over there, and that while they have only been a problematic factor in this market. Japan is doing everything right on all grounds, but not many people are giving it the the attention that it deserves. Instead, they keep focusing on all the BS and negativity being pumped into this market to drive the price down, and it works each and every time due to the people falling for this nonsense....

Yes it is actually given already that bitcoin can really affect one's economy, especially in term of money. But we can actually concluded that bitcoin will always bring positive impact to our economy. Sometime it also bring harm , for example some people in the country can exchange their bitcoin , into their local fiat without paying any tax. And it hurts one's economy. That's why they are really carefull in letting the bitcoin be part of their economy.

If anything it seems your argument to try to prove they are not going to ban cryptocurrencies seem to indicate the opposite, governments will do everything they can to slow the adoption of bitcoin and once they realize that is impossible they will use bans, this is not something to be surprised about, in the US it was forbidden to hold gold for a long time and I'm sure such a ban will happen again.

If China is going full nuts, they will probably make sure anything they know of that's crypto related, won't be accessible from the internet anymore, and that goes up for foreign exchanges as well.

On the other hand, I have been reading articles hinting at China to at some point lift their ban, where even Bobby Lee said that it could turn out to be a possibility. I however don't see any reason for optimism just yet.

Firstly, we don't know if these articles are fake or not, and secondly, China's extreme paranoid is too much of an obstacle here, especially when it comes to something allowing easy capital outflow, and that's what crypto is.

China is actually not calling the ban on crypto currency trading, but it is banning the crypto currency mining and there are number of reasons behind all this. The most common and obvious reason behind all that is that the government of Chain is very much afraid of the consumption of the power and electricity which will be needing in mining and that they are like unable to produce this much of power in their country.

Do you think that the real reason is consumption of the power and electricity? Maybe there are some other reasons? Actually I don't understand why Korea and China limit crypto that much..

Governments were trying to make bitcoin adoption a little slow and after bitcoin price and popularity exploded, they turned into banning cryptos with no other solution to control it (For sure cryptos market is made to be free and uncontrollable).

I've heard that Some coins were looking to surpass those restriction barriers like what DeepOnion did in the latest wallet update with the integration of OBFS4 and other privacy coins integrating zerocoin protocol etc...

That's why I believe that privacy coins will shine in those Governments Banning Darkness.

I personally think that most of this bans are just attempts to tax cryptocurrencies...the governments only want to have the right piece of the cake...and they don't like the wild environment that we have now in the crypto scene...
And like many users have already stated in this thread there are so many good projects like DeepOnion that thank's to TOR, OBFS4 and MEEK can allow Chinese people to hold and spend cryptocurrencies anyways...
So i really wouldn't care so much about this kind of news  ;)

These chinese government really want to control bitcoin, like what happen last year this issue has pop up and yes there's a price decrease happen for a short period of time but after a month btc's price reach an ATH, i think this is simply a strategy to collect money from people around the world by chinese government as well as their investors which is clearly not being shown in media.

China quite often comes with some form of regulations to make bitcoin usage in a controlled manner. Later it lets it move on its own thinking the goodness within the technology. In my view China will continue to be a part of the cryptocurrency and technology based advancements.

Governments will make it more difficult to get access to the crypto world (fiat gateways, IP blocks, outright bans), but technology is always going to be one step ahead.

There is no way to enforce a full crypto ban.

Anonymous coins who understand that might come under attack by regulators, but in the end they will benefit because "real" anonymous transactions is the next logical step in blockchain development.

Good times ahead for Monero, DeepOnion etc.
You guys should stop worrying yourself on some of this news, They are sent out to create panic in the minds of holders. Watch out how the news will be changing very soon when all the bears are tapped out. China has always been known to bring in negative vibes. It is not their first time; neither will it be the second or the last time.

They have been known for this, but the best is to take their crazy bans as a cockroach fart because at the end of the day, it means nothing.

But people worry.. bit of FUD and they FOMO... people need to learn that privacy coins will not be ever stopped. (or crypto as such - but you might be traced) :)
China cannot stop the people living in that country from buying or selling of bitcoin or even investing their money into it. The only thing which China has banned across the entire country is the mining of crypto coins and that too because of the reason that it consumes lot of power and electricity which can then result in shortage of power for the common use by the people. Mining fields have been stopped by the government of China.

The problem is that China is always looking at things from the wrong angle and sometimes, I always feel like whales usually make use of all these things to change the context so that people can panic for their favor. Isn't the footprint glaring? Anyone who is wise should know by now that their nonsense means nothing and no matter how much they keep trying their best to frustrate the crypto idea, they lost a long time ago.

We cannot run away from regulations and so far, at least for some breathing space, there is really no choice right now. We cannot just win on that one. This would not stop the idea of decentralization when it comes to Peer to Peer anyway, but one way or the other, it would affect fiat to cryptos via exchanges. Government will not just shut a blind eye and watch the whole world of currency crumble on them, will they?

China is in the list of banning bitcoin. Earlier China closed a major mining pool. This really bit affected bitcoin growth while this happened. But if you look at on the other side, we have other new countries like RUSSIA and JAPAN have adapted bitcoin into their countries. They legally announced and accepted bitcoin.

Bitcoin growth is going to affect the country economy. You can take this in two ways. This would affect current fiats value, or if bitcoin is accepted, the respected country is going to have a massive growth in wealth. Not only the country, but also the citizens as well.
You have a point, I agree that bitcoin had large effect to the economy of each nation. Other than that my answer to the wider banning of crypto currencies we're depends to each countries because China have lack of power to call wider crypto currency ban. So they have no capacity to control the decisions of many leader of each country.

I don't think they will do it. Maybe they just publish this news to make cryptocurrency investors feel panic then they will sell all their cryptocurrency cause they're afraid that the price of the whole market will go down because of this news. But this is not the first time China says that they're going to ban cryptocurrency so I think we no need to worry about it.

Guys all this banning is manipulation on price for certain people to gain more holdings in their favourite or the most profitable coins! Anyway even having said that, for the regular investor like you and me the bans will definitely affect us, so i think privacy coins will be the go to solutions for the future especially coins like DeepOnion and Cloak Coin, DeepOnion allows users even in China to access their wallets, with TOR updates and OBSF4 protecting them from blocks!

Too bad for these chinese people as we all know how bitcoin could be part in investment and could be part also in bussiness in the near futre. Anyway I hope that they come to realize the importance of bitcoin and to respect its system. As I have heard the news from china with bitcoin that there are chinese people scamming other members of bitcoin in thier country. They created a system that could help them in thier scam activities like trading or bitcoin exchange. Well I guess if we just have to follow the system then they will not be able to do scam activities. And so far also these are alll rumors and no need to worry about.

I am so tired of listening to China this, China that every few days. There are ways to get around every ban and restriction, you just need to educate people.
I know that DeepOnion is using TOR network for transactions and with integrated OBFS4 and Meek protocols you can use it even in China without any issues.
I am sure that there are other cryptos that can do this in same or similar way and there will be more in the future.
History teaches us that every attempt to ban something was not successful and sooner or later people find the way around it.

I dont think many people are panic selling. I think a lot are actually moving their crypto assets into more secure coins like deeponion and monero.  This way china can ban all they want, but with Tor and Meek, there is no really way of stopping a rocket like deeponion.

I think this is something that is not new, since last year, we had already deal with this kind od scenario in china. China seems to just want crypto currency to be regulated to avoid scams and to not mislead people into bad investments, since there are a lot of chinese that knows how to fake soemthing, including websites and as of now crypto currency, probably this is the reason why they want to control exchanges, if an exchange had been created full of scam coins, their people might lose more money than gaining them. This type of news will again filter the market, those with weak hands will surely rely on this news in order to start a scare, thus panic selling.

At the moment I no longer believe in news from China because it's all information that aims to bring down the market and the speculators are waiting to buy the coin is extremely cheap. So if you want to join the long-term market, then you should choose a good coin and keep them for a long time and do not care about the market news.

The consumption of energy by miners is not really an issue, some miners are buying exceeding energy from power plants anyway and if I remember correctly China uses coal as its main source of energy and it is a very old technology and china has huge reserves of coal so that is not really a problem, this is about limiting the freedom of their citizens and their money.

I remember back in late August or early September going to bed after making some trades and admiring the worth of my portfolio.  Carrying that euphoria into the morning I get breakfast and open my laptop and my heart drops to the floor.  China decided to ban crypto and the entire market drops 15%.  It recovered over the following 3-weeks, and then China decided to close exchanges and it dropped again by roughly 10%.  And again and again and again.

I think we've mostly moved beyond China but that doesn't mean China doesn't deserve crypto and privacy.  DeepOnion's latest wallet can bring crypto to their citizens with TOR 0.3.3, OBSF4, and Meek.  Even if China fully bans crypto they can't completely stop decentralization.  Crypto is meant to free people from oppressive organizations like banks and governments.

But one thing for sure is that whatever action they take today or tomorrow, won’t affect other countries, except China. PBoC Official is only calling for a complete ban on Cryptocurrencies in China and not the whole world. They have no right to tell others what to do, they can only give orders in their country and not everywhere. Another thing is that there is no reason for us all to panic, whether Change  stands with us or not, it’s our decision that determines what happens next.

Yes this is right, but one thing that I have slight concerns about is that China is not small market at all, if we look at crypto I am very sure that each and every one of us wants China in the game. In my opinion there is solution, crypto currency projects like DeepOnion for example keeping up with latest trends and setting up usage of latest TOR, as well as OBFS4 and MEEK protocol make it much easier for users to use and get into crypto market without any hiccups or fear. Governments are there to protect their citizens, but not sure if that is always the case. Regarding FUD on crypto from China I think everyone is used to it by now and there are not much reactions as before to it (to each and every news article).

China is always very strict with their politics, the government has an enormous task leading and serving over 1 billion people, I believe this is the reason why they are more cautious than other countries with Cryptocurrencies, although I hope they won't adapt a ban policy, would be a huge punch and setback for this technologies.
It is not only the amount of population they need to govern it is also about the type of government they have, China is under communist rule and even if they are not as oppressive as they were in decades in the past it does not change that fact, so they are every worried that something like bitcoin will allow people to escape from the harsh control they have.

If we look at a projet like DeepOnion for example, why would I ever want to sell this altcoin if i know it is going to be a great deal one day? It has great features, developers and a community. Cant go wrong with this one IMO so why panick?

It may not seem like a smart move to us but for them this is about maintaining their grip on their citizens, they do not want to let it go, so their only option is to keep increasing the regulation until they ban all cryptocurrencies completely once that happens it will be a punishable offense to hold bitcoin, I do not think we are that far to see that scenario.

Many bans are issued from China but paradoxically is that China is the most crypto country, especially bitcoin, the largest crypto in the crypto market. So I believe these are the traits of Chinese investors to reduce the value of crypto coins so that they can buy them at very low prices. The market is getting familiar with the information from China and no longer respond as strong as before.

Honestly, I wish we could move away from China because this country is worrying me somehow because of their capability to really take Bitcoin price down which is as you know the gold standard the whole crypto market is relying on...

Give it time, people are so used to china being important to the market they have not realized their importance has gone down dramatically in the last years and that Japan is emerging as the new giant but eventually they will realize this and we will give more weight to the news coming from Japan which is good since most of the news coming from Japan are moves in the right direction for the acceptance of bitcoin.

Give it time, people are so used to china being important to the market they have not realized their importance has gone down dramatically in the last years

How much time do people need? People were assuming that China has been an important factor due to how much volume the exchanges there were generating, which is somewhat understandable, but after the PBOC sanctions, it became clear that it was nothing more than a troll show. China's market was big due to how high frequency traders were literally ruling that entire market with an iron fist due to the zero fee structure. After the fees have been set to normal, high frequency traders lost interest obviously, and thus normal trading resumed again. Result? Very poor volumes for such a 'massive' market, which was quite a shock. It was obvious that the volumes were highly inflated, but that it was this bad, is something people just didn't expect....

Just after the Korean news that Korea going to shut down all Crypto exchanges completely. A similar news coming from China now. here is the link for the news

Don't worry, bitcoin will get better. It belongs to the world.
Bitcoin has always been better, nothing has ever happened to it, all I see is just an attempt to make some weak hands complain, get scared until they lose it and sell everything to the so called whales at the best value they have been waiting for. There is nothing they can do and by now, they should obviously know that no one is paying attention to them unless those who of course just prefers to.

After Korea, now is China. Nice. I hope it is just temporary.
Temporary? How will something be temporary when it never happened? Watch news changing and you will see how tables will turn; China will come out to say they never made any decision like that and so on. It has happened several times before and the funniest part is that it will happen again and there would always be some set of people, mostly newbies, who will fall for it.

The sort of negative news that have always come out of this place, makes me to even wonder why we have not even banned China ourselves. ;D

If they want to ban wide range of cryptocurrency they will not support the NEO coin, their thinking is completely different. Their though are to become no 1 in crypto market also, so they don't want diver their money to other counties. So they are planning for compete after Bitcoin.
At present, china id amongst those countries who are having the maximum number of traders than most of other countries in the world and I am very much sure that this number will keep on increasing in the future as well. Chins is not banning the trading of any of the crypto currency. However, china has banned the mining of the crypto currency and that too just because of their own power issues.
The problem is that people love listening to the negative stuffs when they should really be focusing on those things that makes sense a lot and would drive them into holding more.

No one is getting how segwit is being adopted, how transactions are getting fast, how people are beginning to perceive bitcoin and the crypto space, but of course, the only thing they want to pay attention to is that China this and South Korea that until they fall into the hands of whales once they sell out of panic.

This case will never happening :). In my opinion it's just a fake news to create FUD. China government isn't going to ban cryptocurrency in their country, they're still supporting for crypto and finding out the way to protect investors in their country from scam project and crypto. As you guys know, NEO is being supported very strongly by China, I don't think they'll support for NEO if they're going to ban everthing related to cryptocurrency.

China doesn't like it because according to them its disruptive to their economy. But I don't know if there's truth on it or not. However, if you look at the Zimbabwe and Venezuela crisis, bitcoin has help a lot of their citizens to survived in those trying times. They used bitcoin to hedge their wealth (Store of Value) and then buy things outside.

As for China, let's forgot about them. They already cause so much control. They suddenly turn their backs on us. Only thing that they are still relevant because of their monopoly of the bitcoin mining farm. But when the government started to clamp it as well, then its obvious that they will move it somewhere and then there are other farms that might close, and its time for other countries like Japan's GMO to take the slack. So with that said, the monopoly of the Chinese miners will be lessen and in the future we will forgot all about the Chinese.

Yes, the market in China is still great. But because of the unreasonable actions of state officials, China may lose one of the largest pies in its history in the future.
Look, the mining companies are already transferring their assets to other (more friendly) countries to the crypto currency.

you are quite right comma because that's the only way to save a full-fledged market ritualist. But the fact is that there are countries that have offered special opportunities under their legislation. Thus, Belarus announced a ban on levying taxes from crypto currency transactions and any other activity in this area.

They are reasonable. But to themselves and to the state as a whole. They don't care about what their people are going to say. Remember their was somewhat an uprising or protest back in the last 80's. That's how oppressive the Chinese government are.

Indeed the Chinese market have already a contingency plans to move out of Mainland China because of such threat. And even Jihan can't lobbied the government so that he can protect his assets.

Right now they are really in the front of the war against bitcoin and they have justify their sudden move of turning its back to the crypto that all their people loved.

Will it even be possible for China to fully stop cryptos?! I mean there are alternatives that can circumvent any bans. At least for regular people there are ways around this. I am not sure how it is for companies but I imagine that even buisnesses will want to keep their transactions confidential.

Couldn't this be a step towards moving away from BitCoin as a main cryptocurrencies and looking to other alternatives?! Cryptos that have traceability protection and for the refular citizens something to circumvent any intternet bans that migth exist. TOR based cryptos like DeepOnion, Verge, Shield and Spectre might be alternatives in this market. but even TOR traffic can be blocked and for that you need something more like OBFS4 and/or MEEK. This might slow the traffic down but at least it currently can't be blocked. So far I think it is only DeepOnion that support both OBFS4 and MEEK for possible use in China.

If this is the move that is going to happen I have no idea but if stricter bans are placed on crypto markets in China, buisnesses and people will find other ways to invest since it is something that looks to be the future.

I fear this is only the begining. Crypto is here to give freedom to the people. No government wants their people to have freedom, not even in the western countries. Here is their plan:
1. Fight crypto with FUD (Failed)
2. Regulate it by wanting to collect taxes on it.
3. Ban it basically saying you can't do it.
4. Ilegalize it by putting you to jail if you own crypto.

once #4 fails also, we have won the war for freedom.

As the war goes on, we will move to privacy coins like monero, dash, deeponion etc...

I think most of us already accepted how the Chinese government is against bitcoin but it's also clear that Chinese people don't like it so they move to another country to continue their journey on crypto so I'm not totally worried after all.
It is not as easy, the Chinese government has a very strong control over all the money movements that is why they are scared of bitcoin, so those that already have bitcoin investments can move their money freely or at least that is what they think since it is obvious that if you used exchanges to get those coins that the government probably already knows you are a bitcoin holder and are going to watch where those coins move.

chinese leaders (e.g governments ) had already changed their minds because i heard recently that they already unabaned those ico's and exchanges that they banned on the past, maybe they now realized that cryptos are verry important to the economy and to the people who will use it as it can lead to more oppurtunities such as jobs and services to the people. not just china but also some of the other countries such as russia and korea are now reversing their order in regard to bitcoin and cryptocurencies.

There are lot of talking regarding the ban of crypto currencies in China but the fact is there is nothing like that in real and all such news are rumors. Still, there are number of investors who are investing and trading while sitting in China.

The only thing which the government of China have banned is mining of any of the crypto coin and that because of lack of resources as it takes huge consumption of power and electricity resources while doing mining.

About banning, they can't wider it through around the world, specially in the major country like Russia and many more. China is not a ruler of every living things specially here in crypto community. Most of the country see that the trading bitcoin or bitcoin, that this kind of currency is very effective and useful to promote more opportunity, business and services around the world. It fasten the transaction and cutting the payment through ignoring the mid man in every project or business. So better to ignore that kind of wasted news folks.

China banned BTC many times already yet still this has an impact on the markets. Maybe just because people want to get prices lower from time to time..Selling because of the China FUD might be the biggest mistake people make....but who care? We have privacy coins TODAY and we should protect our online identity at all cost and that's whay I'm also very interested in anonymous cryptocurrency lately. It is impossible to kill an anonymous cryptocurrency by government, especially a full privacy one like DeepOnion. TOR based with obfuscation protocol (OBFS4) and MEEK, it can be used in market like China or Iran. If any government declares to kill a privacy coin , it will only increase its price. And there will always be a way to trade them.

China indeed has a big impact on the global market, it's no surprise that once China reacts and does something it
ripples throughout every market in the world. I think there might be something in crypto that threatens or doesn't
really go well with their government at the moment. Hopefully it goes well and things will turn out great. For now
it's a ban but tomorrow and the next few months, they might change their minds. Maybe because of it's value and
potential to enable anyone to profit more and without any legal regulations doesn't really sound well for a great
powerful nation like China. As long as that issue lingers and stays in the surface, we may yet to see or hear the
final word from China.

Nah, China won’t ban it but you never know with the kind of people they are.
No matter the kind of people they are, banning is something they should already know by now can never be effective, considering the level at which the cryptocurrency market has grown over the years. Apparently, they will notice how the whole nation ends up turning deaf ears to them and they will as well be forced to just regulate it or keep their mouth shut forever. One of it must definitely happen in the long run.

The market has always been independent of most of these things, but some people always let their emotions drive them into letting it have an effect on the market. I would not blame anyone though, since traders are the market makers and they will always expect the market to react to news. However, China does not have any hold on the crypto space, and any news that comes out of there is always full of shit.

China apparently already said there is nothing they can do when it comes to banning bitcoin or cryptocurrencies, so if they are calling for a wider ban, they are really just beginning to act and sound stupid, but most of the time, I believe whales only use this news to their advantage and nothing of that magnitude may have really been said.

I think the Chinese should be careful, although people think that nothing will happen to them, most likely they start with the search for people who operate with cryptocurrencies, it is very easy, because the chain of blocks can track them, of course there is alternatives to how to use cryptocurrencies anonymous, verge, dash, deeponion, the idea is that the market in China does not stop, because it is very representative in the world of cryptocurrencies.

They cannot change their mind their entire regimen depends on that, they cannot allow people to have economic freedom or their government will have to change and as you may guess those that are in power do not want things to change since they are getting great benefits with the way things are but technology is not going to obey their commands and bitcoin is not going to disappear so I think cryptocurrencies will weaken their strength and will allow some Chinese citizens to get back that power.

In the long-run with continued FUD from China (that seems never-ending) tor-integrated currencies such as Verge and DeepOnion will thrive as a solution not only to enable covert mining operations in the country, but also as cryptocurrencies that are still safely usable. This is surely more relevant long-term. In particular ONIONS running over the Tor network (with obfs4 and meek) looks like it's providing one of the few options left in China for keeping transactions hidden from the state.

Bad news from China has the purpose of speculators and whales. They want to lower the value of bitcoin to buy more at cheap rates or get their crypto to reach their goals. The market should be more responsive to the bad news originating in China, which holds the most bitcoin in the world and also has the most bad news about the market.

Yeah I agree with alot of the comments made on here. China just loves to control people and what they do, this is no different. If the world accepts it then 1 day they may do too.

Now that I'm immune to fake news, what's wrong with this news? Does China completely ban bitcoin? No kidding.

There was a similar story last year (China will ban encrypted currency, and China bans password trading).

Now China can still trade bitcoin (VPNS)
The Chinese government did stopped its citizens from trading bitcoin by targeting methods including offshore sites and over-the-counter trading but people in China still trade bitcoin behind back door.

Anyway, After I published this report , I didn't hear any new updates from china towards this action. I guess they are still not has come to a final conclusion to ban Crypto in China. They are just afraid of this new trend as they still collect more details about it.

I can agree with you but one we have to remember if they want to ban the cryptocurrency then they need to ban firstly NEO, Binance exchange both of them belong Chinese only. Till now, they never said directly that they are banning Cryptocurrency.
Bad news from China has the purpose of speculators and whales. They want to lower the value of bitcoin to buy more at cheap rates or get their crypto to reach their goals. The market should be more responsive to the bad news originating in China, which holds the most bitcoin in the world and also has the most bad news about the market.
I alone can not understand why the countries that have a Communist or totalitarian regime are very strongly opposed to the crypto currency. Is it really connected with the fact that they do not want their people to have financial independence, as well as more or less good financial stability.

I think nobody really cares now what China says. They always say that and then you hear that most Chinese traders still secretly trades crypto and even migrate to continue what they are doing.
People still care about what happens in China, I'm not really sure why since China has chosen to withdraw from the market of cryptocurrencies and I suppose it's kind of difficult to let go of old habits and people still put attention to China thinking that is still as powerful as it was just a few years ago when it came to the influence it had over bitcoin but that has changed.

Chinese regulators have been working to crack down on money laundering and fraud for years, and they do not want to preserve another means of supporting these criminal activities -- bitcoin. Perhaps worse than money laundering is the possibility of opening up a market that is often used for speculation, which has intermittently plagued China's financial markets. China's rapid financial development poses a continuing challenge to regulators, who have been trying to clamp down on unapproved practices before significant losses.

China's crackdown on the bitcoin deal also reflects disagreement over the views of all sides of the cryptocurrency. Some people think that bitcoin is simply a legitimate currency; But others see it as a "scam".

The news is usually not effective in the market.

South Korea started the same program to regulate the market.

It is difficult to completely ban the encryption of money, but China can control it fairly rigorously.

Last month the south Korean financial services commission said it would ban the issuing of new trading accounts on the currency exchange. In a statement, the committee said that if a new account was opened, the government would have the right to take action, either stop trading or close the exchange.

The commission added that since most of the encrypted currency transactions were anonymous, users had to use their real names.

The south Korean government also said it would monitor Banks closely and would act "quickly" to restrict the flow of money into encrypted currencies if necessary.

The south Korean government has issued a warning that it would include shutting down all options, including the closing of a cryptocurrency exchange, in an effort to curb the use of cryptocurrency speculation, which has sent the currency tumbling.

Look at DeepOnion with TOR, OBFS4 and Meek... works everywhere... stealth addresses almost ready so privacy guaranteed.

Obviously they always feel pained in their heart that it is impossible to just rule out the cryptocurrency space completely like that and the best they can only do is to regulate it, not if decentralized exchanges start taking the part of the day in the long run anyway. All the above, a lot of fake news comes from China a lot and the communities are the ones paying attention to this without even verifying anything which makes it possible for some set of people to want to capitalize on the news for their own benefit.

One of my friends sent me this today. He says this is a statement of a person who participated for a meeting about cryptocurrency in US. ''

House ICO Hearing: overall, still low awareness of the technology and the cryptomarket: 'cryptocurrencies are a crock' and are used only to fund terrorism, claimed California Representative. However, other Representatives urged the Congress to properly study the subject before rushing into regulations. The end of the discussion was positive too: 'I believe that this is probably hello and not goodbye'.

Nothing is being proposed in any other country and china is not calling for any wider ban on cryptocurrency and whatever anyone is telling you right now are just pointless. If Chinese regulators want the country to opt out from cryptocurrency entirely, no one is stopping them but using fake news by some people to generate FUD in the community is uncalled for and has to stop. Time we stopped paying attention to too much negative news.

A senior official at the people's bank of China has called for a broader ban on the country's digital currency trading services.

But that does not stop the cryptocurrency.

Germany, Japan and other countries have recognized the legal status of bitcoin, and some U.S. states are trying to legislate for bitcoin.
We should pay more attention to some useful news.

From the current market, it is true that the encryption market has been very volatile, because it has been down for several days.

In the long run, the encryption market will not die, because it will be helpful to people, and the blockchain technology will be widely used, and the market will only eliminate some useless currencies.

I really do not believe in news from China to prohibit crypto because it is just an act to lower their cryptocurrency market so that these investors can buy crypto at very low prices the market goes down. Be alert to the situation, certainly the Chinese will not want to prohibit cryptocurrency when they are the most crypto-holding country.

Also, I am pretty sure that the hardcore traders will find ways to trade crypto currencies while exchanges are prohibited in China. Thanks to the digital world of the internet and I doubt that the government of China can effectively prevent those activities.

Good or bad news about cryptocurrency will always be there. I think the CHINA government will find it difficult to completely combat the use of crypto in the country. The government may issue a ban on crypto users, but it will not be a problem for crypto users. Because in crypto, users do not use the need to use their credentials to join. Crypto does not have data about the user's identity, so crypto users also feel safe. So how can the government eradicate it?

From the moment the exchanges ceased to operate, China lost its importance, and in a way it did lose its importance.

There is no way for China to ban encryption altogether, because the exchanges have moved abroad. People can still trade bitcoins.

When government don’t want such coin to exist in their country definitely they will be marking it illegal. And for such illegalization, they have to ban everything related to bitcoins. Here comes many exchanges and people who are continuously working for bitcoins. So this might happened in china but as far as I know, these are just fuds. Its a bad news, but not to enough worried or panic.because they cannot ban bitcoin all over the world.I think they cannot use bitcoin now.,I hope its not a permanent. Its just temporary.,also in China people still trade bitcoin.
So far, none of the government official of China has given such kind of statement and that the people living in China are still busy in investing their money into the crypto currencies and are even doing trading of the crypto coins.

The only thing which has been banned by the government of China is the mining of the crypto currencies and that they have sealed all the mining fields because of resource consumption.

It is a good source of money and China should not really ban this.

Just after the Korean news that Korea going to shut down all Crypto exchanges completely. A similar news coming from China now. here is the link to the news

It is very unfortunate if the Chinese state really prohibits cryptocurrency in any case. Because I think crypto is very worthy to maintain. And crypto can really make our living economy better than ever. Surely this is already proven for some people who feel the benefits of crypto. Hopefully, no more countries are affected by the actions of the Government of China.

If BTC proves in first world countries to be useful and profitable for Governmental purposes, then yeah, China will look up to it and make a copy of its own. But until that, they don't care and will try to ban as hard as it possible

Well for me it is just another crisis in the bitcoin cryptocurrencies which will be leading again to falling of bitcoins value and other alternative coins value. In you are studying bitcoin you are able to say that they can't ban bitcoin in every part in the world because it is in the internet's side which means they must shutdown the internet first because btc belong in internet and no one can delete it or ban it.

Lolzzzz… I think this is an old news because I’ve been across this topic in the forum before, and after that I read a post that talks about a meeting being held by leaders (either of China or the world) to make China lift the ban on ICOs and Bitcoin. They also mentioned something about Bitcoin being regulated by the authorities, but I’m not really sure if that will be quite possible. But I’m very sure China is talking about lifting the ban on Bitcoin and ICOs, cause I read it from a news website online.

China is no doubt one of the super power in this world and that it holds a very strong influence as well. We have come across news like banning of the crypto currencies as well as banning of the mining of the crypto coins in China and that the only reason behind all this is that the government of China is thinking of taking control over all the crypto currencies and for that they are taking such kind of steps.

I don’t understand what China is doing with bitcoin. Many times they banned, but soon gave permission to their people to trade in bitcoin. I think they have different mindset about bitcoin and cryptocurrency. It is possible that they launch their own cryptocurrency and no doubt they can because China has a strong economy in the world and they will become super power in the future.
