When is thus general Bloodbath likely to end guys?... All Capital tied up 😰😰

The problem is that everybody is selling right now, that is the main reason of why everything is dip'ing right now.
Bust just relax, this will probably be temporary just like it happened during the last few years too.

I am not worried at all, and i am losing a lot of money, but i am still positive about it because we all know that it will keep going up during the next few months.

Doesn't really mean much.

Almost everyday there will be a point in time when coins are green after being in the double digit red.

Without confirmations on the long timeframes its impossible to tell if this is the bottom.

Some alts that were the early dippers seem to be recovering, I'm taking that as a sign that the turn around is close. Price of bitcoin broke 10k briefly but has since recovered. Also just watching the markets now it seems there's a lot more support, in short, I think the end is close.

Bitcoin allows fantastic gains, but there is no gain without risks.
So, accept the idea that currencies fluctuate, sometimes go up, sometime go down.
If you are are a real trader, you can profit in both cases.

Many people were expecting this kind of big correction for some time and it had happened and I feel it is a good thing so that we are now prepared to go even higher than the previous high price. It may take some more time to stabilize the markets and slowly move up later on.

It is very difficult for me to time the market to make money in both directions so I usually buy and keep to sell at high price. if prices go down then I start accumulating more.

Once a month, such a blood bath is once. It's not a new thing, take a little time, stay positive. It may be okay in the next 3-4 days.

It is ending now! All I can see in the list of coins are green marks. This is it! Celebration! This a good sign that the red days are all gone and we are now formally entering the green days. I can even see great increases. Siacoin has even increased more than 40% already. Bitcoin and the major altcoins are already in green marks as well. Well, brace yourselves guys, we are going to fly now! Lucky for those who have made the best of the red days.

this current bloodbath is just like a tip of an iceberg, a few days ago when the price of  almost coins started to drop down I just use all my reserve funds to buy coins hoping I will do a good trade since the price of coins is low but then yesterday it drop down drastically beyond expectation. Lucky for those who buy at very low price. Hopefully it will recover soon

It's over already all these bloodbath is for foreign media and new traders or people who don't know anything about btc. I heard yesterday in a public place few people being happy that they didn't invest in btc now that it's all over.
But for use traders and holders it is clearly a buy opportunity whenever this situation has occured asian dump it but after few hours when they are asleep western pumps it and thus this is a chance of easy profit.

There are signs of recovery but in a day or so we will know exactly what the S.Korean government is going to decide on cryptocurrency exchanges. If they totally close down and ban crypto trading inside S.Korea we might see another wave of selling off. Once that is finished then we should see some sideways action until the next bull run starts in around the early spring it is anticipated. Let us hope the markets recover soon.

Simply now, a large number of investors will lose their currency. News that inflates the media negatively affect the investment. But I also hoped that I could sell my coins only in the spring. So this crisis has not affected me much and I wish all of you.

This is a very usual situation with trading and it can happen anytime in the year. One thing for sure is that this will not continue for long, hoping for the rise in price of bitcoin before the second quarter of this year. We should just be patient and hold our bitcoin for a rainy day and if possible buy more since the price has gone down so that you can make more profit after a period of time.

I think this will be a good example for all that you need to keep a portion of the deposit on which trade. Then you would have had money to buy at such sweet prices. I'm also an amateur to gain positions for a couple of months, but I always keep a some cash.

Well, in a high volatility market, this is normal; moreover, most of "traders" are not experimented, they are very sensible to rumors and make choices in panic.
So, big player spread rumors, newbies panic and sell cheap, and whales make big profit. Nothing new under the sun.

I dreamed that bitcoin fell to $ 1, and I could not buy it, because there are no dollars)

But he did not grow any more ... that was horror)
And then it's happening now, a temporary phenomenon and will be growth.

Title: Re: Bloodbath
Post by: Pursuer on January 18, 2018, 09:18:47 AM
the bloodbath for bitcoin was a panic sell initiated by the whales to shake out some weak hands and possibly it was because of the futures contracts that ended yesterday. either that or the expectation of it to happen caused the panic sell.
that ended more than 20 hours ago when price bottomed out and everyone could enjoy the huge discount they received on their purchases. the accumulation begun and everyone has been buying like crazy.

as for altcoins the bloodbath is the dumping that is the follow up of their fake pumps which caused lots of bubbles in each of them. when bitcoin had its drop everyone dumped alts to rush to bitcoin market and now that bitcoin is rising again everyone will start investing in bitcoin and focus their funds there so altcoins can potentially continue to have the bloodbath for a longer time.

No one can predict the exact time. But bloodbath will end as soon as Bitcoin rises to a level of 13k. While it's in region of 9k-12k, there will be uncertainty of it falling back again. All coins will gain back there lost value when this happens. If you have fiat or BTC lying idle then you should buy some good altcoins to gain more profits when they rise. Altcoins are cheap buy since they are 40-50% down from normal price.

I think we have weathered the storm from the last massacre that we have seen. Bloodbath has caused so much emotional and financial stress for all of us and its good to see the market making a headway to a positive direction. Although it looks like bitcoin is stuck to $12K, at least the bloodshed stops momentarily.

I'm sorry to hear that you got all your capital tied up, however, you can breath some relief, and you should invest what you can afford so that in market crash, you wouldn't think of selling your coins because you are going to suffer a big lost.

This is a very good bloodbath, as cleans up the market from weak hands and improvised investors/traders.

Yes, a healthy correction that shakes the weak hands once again. Strong hands always prevails. That's how the market work as much as we don't want it to be. Those irrational buyers of $19K bailed out already the minute they see the price making a reversal.

This will end soon, but the best thing that you can do now is just buy as many altcoins as you can. This is the perfect time for doing so.. I am investing a lot of money right now because as soon as all the market recovers you can easily make a x2.

Wow.  Terms like bloodbath are just what the media love to see and use.  But really, look at the numbers. Btc is only a loss if you sell (assuming you bought at a higher price) and the dip has really only taken it back to where it was last month.

I agree with you and I think this is the great time to buy Bitcoin and Altcoin in lower price. and now all the coins price increases again. It would be very profitable if buy it now.

This correction is really good for the crypto market. To be honest no one knows exactly if it is over but i am confident that this is not the beginning of the end. People who are saying that have their own agenda. I am possitive that after this correction another price rise will happen. So just hold your coins and let the weak hands sell.

This was a normal and very expected correction, and it's a bloodbath only for who bought bitcoin at the top value in december.

I suppose that people who are crying bloodbath on bitcoin are people who invested wrongly. They misjudged the market, expected it to keep going bullish while at $19,000 or thereabout, the market was looking for a resistance level. The fall is appropriate and much expected and accepted. It has let of some fake flesh or economically called bubbles, now is entry time again before it gets to $13,000.

If we remember last year that at 13,000, it took some time before it broke lose to $15,000. The market has settled down now. I don't expect a sharp move upward like we saw in December.

So, is not a bloodbath for bitcoin to me but a correction time.

Seems the bloodbath has come to its end for this season well as expected a huge drop in bitcoin price takes place I'm not surprise seeing all other alts drops but good thing I am a believer of cryptos that what we have  just experience is only a matter of fluctuations and a normal activity. I don't count whatever profit or loss I have now on my investment because it wasn't over yet and I'm still holding my coins till now

It seems to me that this bloodbath - out of a predictable correction - was a provoked one, by big players starting to make declarations with the intent to create panic.
The impression is that the "bigs" (central banks, governments, megacorporations,...) want to enter in the bitcoin game, and they try to pay the minimum price possible.
I predict much more losses, at least until february.
Then we'll see.

Title: Re: Bloodbath

Panic selling, that is the only explanation that you are probably looking forward.

There is a huge pressure on the price right now, huge hands are trying to bring the price back to the bottom again, and that is really happening.

just relax, because it will go up in a few weeks or months from now, it is just all matter of patient and for how much time you can hold on this situation.

all altcoins out there are traded with bitcoin, so when bitcoin value falls, the USD altcoin value usually follows. There are many instances where altcoin will increase significantly during btc decline and this will be a good time to consider trading

The rule of cryptocurrencies are that a coin "NEVER"  move in a single direction. It has to move in both the directions to grow steadily. So even if the coins are falling down, we need not worry because at a point they will stop falling and then start rising. We should just be patient until that moment and have to wait while the bloodbath is over. I think the bloodbath is over now since we can see some of the coins rising up while BTC is still going through minor dumps. January is probably the month of dump. Let's see what the next month brings us.

Well,do you believe the regulators in various countries that say that Bitcoin and Crypto are all schemes to take our money and avoid taxes and
terroism and the dark net?

That is the claim, for increasing regulation and tax compliance and the rest of the FUD...

IF above concerns you, you should take your profits and run...

myself, I mine, I'm legal, my hoard is legal etc

So IF the majority of folk can live with regulation and paying taxes and crypto is NOT used in the above manner all the Gov't and other are FUD'ing about

well, the price will resume an upward path, simply because the majority of us HONEST folk using crypto and BTC will HOLD

and with 80% of all BTC mined

it will HAVE TO AT LEAST GO SIDEWAYS FOR A BIT IF NOT UP IN THE LONG TERM

place your bets, gentleman, are you on the Dark Side of your view of Crypto (banks/gov't concerns) or are you on the light side of crypto (honest use as an alternative

to banks/corrupt gov't's and an alternative way of moving money and a decentralized store of value)

anyway, how I'm looking at it...and I have a significant amount of coin that the dump of BTC in the $9K range...'hurt my tummy' more than a little bit :(

I do believe however there will now be international coordinated FUD and regulations to limit crypto, but they can only do so much if the majority of us are legal and hold,

even in those countries where BTC and crypto is outlawed....you can still slip it out via USB drive to a relative or whatever outside that country exchange (me thinks)

anyway, pick your viewpoint

(We wanted BTC and Crypto to gain mainstream attention, goes to show: be careful what you wish for, you may surely get it!)

maybe in march we can see if bitcoin will break the price range or not. Its a matter of time.

I understand how everyone felt about the crypto bloodbath, and I kind of felt the same way too. We need to overcome our fear when we see all reds in CoinMarketCap, because that's pretty normal.

The whales out there are just laughing and taking advantage of the bad news by just simply dumping a percentage of their assets and wait for the newbies and inexperienced traders to go FUD mode so that they can buy more at lower prices.

Think of the bloodbath as an opportunity to get XX% off in buying that digital asset, just like we saw in malls and shops who are on bargain sale. So for me, I think it's like FUD sale. :D
