What is your opinion and why?

New platforms will definitely rise. My favorite is NEO.
Lending coins will rise. Ethlend and Ripio Credit Network will reach Salt level.
Privacy coins are never out of fashion. Decentralized exchanges will also become the new norm. Check out Idex.market.

In my opinion, all of them increased as long as it is good and the coins are supported.

My top 3 still Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Ripple. They will enjoy this position up to the end of the year. With the strong demand on crypto the uptrend still be the seen for the next two months.

Well, for top altcoin i think smart contract is good choice like etherium and waves.
For new developing altcoin i prefer to invest in privacy coin like xpec. But anything is your choice. If you find a litte issue the just leave the coin.

This is an interesting thread given that so many coins are doing great this year. It's just the start of the year but i can see greens in the market for a lot of altcoins such as Cardano, Litecoin, EOS, RIPPLE, MONERO and ICOn. this only means that there will be a lot of opportunity for us to buy altcoins and make them more profitable.

Which group Bitcoins was belong? Anyway, I think all coins are unpredictable that we couldn't really tell which type or groups will lead as every group has their own representative like bitcoin, ethereum, Monero and Salt as these will always depend upon the investors choice of where they will like to pour their investment but still i can say that Bitcoin and Ethereum group will surely always do the lead.

Look at binance getting a lot of value from their token. Offered a discount with transaction fees just by using their token and then boom, it blasted crazy in price.
I guess once a trading website gets successful this is what happens. Good advertising and market will help and it will roll by itself.
Etherdelta says they are making a token for themselves and wants ICO's to deposit money by buying their token for listing. I say that is a good move but with all of this errors in their website they might be losing all that shouldve invested with them.

Still I think bitcoin that won't be that easy to beat on the top. Bitcoin cash and MKR followed as of today and Ethereum was just so stable until now. Some are rising in popularity as well but still I doubt if they can beat bitcoin. This clearly it is where everything had started anf tested through time bitcoin will always survive.

Bitcoin is on its way to bullish the market. At the top list of the market, bitcoin is currently moving up and other cryptocurrency are in its bearish. I hope that the rising up of the bitcoin's price will continuously grow.

With the limited amount of knowledge i know of crypto currency and the trend of the market nowadays, i believe both bitcoin and ethereum will still be strong this year; or at least it would still be on top of the market. I feel litecoin is getting stronger this year because it's becoming more stable and getting a good momentum. I don't know what's going to happen this year since again i don't know mich of the market and it's trend, but i really would like to think these coins will be getting stronger this year

Definitely Privacy coins will shoot: Monero, ZCash, Dash, Verge
Smart Contract coins also: like ETH, Neo, Waves, Qtum, Komodo
I would add some coins with passive income(POS, forging, masternodes): DCR, RNS, ARDOR, STRAT, etc.
And maybe some coins backed with something like Bancor with its liquidity system.

BCPT has a very direct purpose and it looks solid.

BLOCKPORT looks like a very good improvement on coinbase which has a pretty quick timeline to launch.

The privacy coins are all using different methods of privacy, and some like dash can be traced and monero is too data heavy. Zcoin has a great privacy model but it doesnt have the customer interface like dash has. So the products are all kind of flawed right now.

Neo is a good bet

eos is still on ethereum so we will have to see what happens with their launch or postponed launch.

I think the biggest increase will come from the infrastructure coins, think big coins that are laying down the future crypto infrastructure that everything else will use, i'm thinking the decentralized exchange coins will outperform next year.

it looks like a strong coin in 2018 is a coin that has a coin type that has a limited total supply like raiblock (XRB), Bitcoin (BTC) and many more coins that have the potential to become very expensive coin in 2018.
Verge, LTC and ETH have the potential to become expensive coin.

If regulations and taxes are enforced on investors then privacy coins will definitely take over the market. As of now, I think we are safe with altcoins. Bitcoin seems to be gaining market share slowly, now at 37%, but I don't think it'll grow beyond 50% as is used to be.

The most common coin that lead's among all coins is bitcoin, we really knows that bitcoin is the most in demand and shall we call bitcoin is the strongest coin. As we look at the market value of all coins, the leading one is bitcoin, and other types of coins are depend on what bitcoin price status. So we can determine immediately that the strongest coin of all coins is bitcoin.

Bitcoin will cobtinue to lead the market and same with etherium. Knowing that new coins are now getting into the market, price of this coin will become greater. I also see potential to the coins which are newly introduced. I have observed that those coin that has lower circulating supply easily gets larger price. Possibly, new bitcoin fork will also be release in the coming months, this only mean that it fork coin are also potential for tge increase.

I think Zilliqa (https://coincodex.com/crypto/zilliqa/) has huge potential, solves a lot of scalability problems with sharding.

Maybe the base chain and the cross chain project will be strong. And I think the decentralized exchange like kyber and 0x will strong this year too.

Its is hard to predict the most stronger coins in 2018 because even the weakest coin in the market cap we dont know there is a chance will be stronger coin in 2018, but as of now the strongest coin was in the top 10 coin market cap.

I think no one can beat bitcoin, it is the coin that always leading and on top and based on the cryptocurrency market capitalization. while in privacy coins i prefer dash and for the smart contract coins is the ethereum it is leading in the market too.

In my opinion, it is better to make your own research and trust your guts.

And yes, the most of the privacy coins are undervalued right now.

The best opportunity is to find a privacy-related project with a low total supply (less than 100M), that way the price will be increasing much faster.

From privacy coins, Verge has huge potential.  Crypto trail blazer Bitcoin wil still lead the way in 2018 and beyond.  Infrastucture plays like Quantstamp, Icon, Achain, Rchain will have huge gains as they are undervalued right now and will provide for the expansion and growth of Blockchain environment

I think all of you would agree that bitcoin is really going strong in the past weeks after recovering from its crush which I believe this will continue to go on and on reaching the $20K mark within the year. For the altcoins, I really believe in XRP,LTH,ETH,and Monero since it has a good performance in the past weeks that I assume this will also be on the increasing trend in the coming weeks to come.

Very interesting question. I believe that all of them will continue to grow because there is still a demand for them. However, the one that will increase the most is honestly up for grabs...maybe whatever society deems popular at the time perhaps? In saying so, Smart Contract coins tend to stay on the rise, but privacy coins may also be increasing in popularity in my opinion.

In my opinion, with all this regulations things, more and more attention will attract privacy altcoins, like Monero, Zcash, Komodo.

yes, to the four crypto I save and the rest I trade to get the daily profit. I think I can get a lot of profit in the middle of this year with altcoin that I have.

In my opinion, DASH and LTC. There are still a lot of issues that need improvement. However, I think they have a clear orientation. Along with that is strategy, perspective and practicality. They are trying to show all that strength. I like their strong and professional.

The following coins which I believe that will emerge progressively are ETH,LTH, XRP and Neo since these alts have very good performance record in the price chart. These altcoins have very good reputation and because of that, many people were encouraged to put additional investments. As expected, these investors could gain good profit in the coming months.

I agree with you. Perhaps more types of crypto types are competing in the market. But as you say, these three types are crypto types that will remain firmly in their position because they are the more common cryptographic base and widely understood to the people and also easy to understand.

I don't agree with you about "private coins will be less popular than today".
Many experienced investors here prefer to stay private about their profits (I've made this conclusion from other threads).
Besides one very popular exchange (I won't name it here) is going to give information about it's users to US authorities in a couple of weeks. And there is always possibility any exchange gives info to other countries.
I'm sure there will be many people who won't like it. So I guess private coins will be even more popular.

If bitcoin bounce up again sure thing that the top 10 alts will increase their respected value as well, just like what you just said, they represent their venue, they already served their purpose and a lots of audience already tested the service, ETH will come up big this year as we expect more updates
to happen and more tokens will use their platform, so better to hold this coin for long term investment.

if I think BTC and ETH, because two coins are stable enough so far, although bitcoin got up and kept getting threatened to be shear from etherium but bitcoin was able to regain its rise, while etherium earlier this year also increased volatile.

For me, I rather go for those Altcoins with the plans of their own blockchain just as Btc. An example of such coin is Neo. However, some other ones without this kind of idea can also thrive. Coins such as XRP, Storm also will thrive. I am really hoping for the best also.

Bitcoin is very strong coin in 2018 for good profit for customers and earn more money from this work.

Bitcoin has long been regarded as the king of virtual currency, not only in previous years but over the past ten years. Bitcoin is still the leading currency on the market, I think because of the current trend of development. Bitcoin is better than other currencies, but the risk that Bitcoin gives to investors is quite good, but they still invest and support Bitcoin.

Smartcontract will become a mainstream blockchain infrastructure. How a lot of these projects are comiing to issued their own smartcontract. As far as i know just like credit and universa which has already used by some company to issued their tokenization in the future. But it looks like another service just like rent car will be booming soon.

I think marketing related and technology related coins will be having a good market this year because i saw some coins from those field that pumped really good like the PRL which was finished few months back and it didn't have a good ICO run though the coin in the market during ATH of btc pumped way too high.

I think you have a lot of experience with your rank. I think, you better understand and understand very well to examine which altcoin that can be profitable in this year. I personally have my own choices and predictions for some of the altcoins I invest and trade.

The price of all altcoins depends on the price of bitcoin. We always see synchronous price charts. The only exceptions are those coins that are only at the beginning of her life. The cryptocurrency market is just beginning to develop so all coins will live this year. Space in the market will be enough for everyone.

On my mind smart contracts are very demanded in the modern period of time. I heard about providing bills about blockchain and smart-contracts in different states in USA. Smart-contracts are as provisions of real contract.

In my own view, I owned more than a dozen of tokens but for me it's Oyster Protocol PRL that has the guts of leading the underdog Cryptos in the market today.
I mean, Oyster Protocol PRL has a very effective project but it is currently undervalued due to it's main net isn't available yet in the market.
This coming April will be the launch of Oyster's project to the public so I am getting excited for what it will become.

I believe that the following coins, which will gradually develop, are ETH, WAVES, ICX and NEO, because these violas have very good performance in the price chart. These altoknymi have a very good reputation, and because of this many people were invited to invest additional investment.

It seems to me Ada still will show itself from the good party and so I advise all to study the analysis of the market, to watch trends.

I do see many people are keep suggesting monero for anonymous transaction purpose but I do see dash coin is also serving the same purposes. When there are two established coins are serving same purpose then I doubt both will share their success which will be impacting each other in terms of growth. Still, if people do consider having an anonymous transactions is the biggest a concern, then we can be sure about success of these coins in near future.

But, I do believe bitcoin alone will be enough in 2018 to make handsome amounts of profits as bitcoin still remains strong and more promising than any other altcoins.

I hardly know which coin will be strong in 2018 but the grouping of coins which I think will do best are privacy coins, security token coins, and DAG type coins. These 3 groupings to me stand to have the best year given everything we know about regulation and the way the market is trending.

I hope to see bitcoin stabilize around ~$15k by the end of the year.

Though if we see some btc growth, other coins might also follow suit, but either way, I'm pretty optimistic right now. :)

Well the answer is absolutely simple to me as i strongly believe that some altcoins will move significantly in this year 2018 the way things are going at the moment. Although there are some speculation about Bitcoin increasing in value to the turn of $50,000 before end of December this year.

Most likely base chain technology that provides a better technical solution than the existing ones are likely to have a large interest from the community and growth.

I'll go with anonymous coin. Because these kind of coins has the future because sending or receiving coin without any information or you cannot track by anyone. This will help every user to hide their identity. Hope there are more coins coming that will about privacy.

For me ethereum my number one pick becuse as a secondary coin follow their boss bitcoin, ethereum have potentially to grw up their price in the marketcap actually i relay also the prediction according to the prediction for the ethereum 2018 goes up their price in the market but difficult to predict what month can upirse their value, hoping before end of the year ethereum reach the highest price expectations from the people.

It all depends on ROI expectations. I think NEO, ETH will continue their uptrend in USD value.
ETH will go up - cause its everywhere and many ICOs are dependant on ETH. I have low ROI expectations.
NEO will go up - cause very strong ecosystem is built around it. I have also low ROI expectations.

Also new platform may go up (Wanchain, Icon, Zilliqa) - but they need to prove themselves and its time - so I would expect medium ROI.

I think it's really important to keep an eye on platform coins and overall crypto infrastructure projects. This is where the real value lies. I think 3rd gen platform coins like NEO will do well. ADA EOS will also have strong 2018. Ive also been seeing allot of talk about decentralised trading platforms given the increasing regulatory tensions. My pick would be the NEX exchange launching on NEO

I think privacy coins will be big! Given the regulations aspect from the government's, I believe privacy coins will be used more and more as an attempt to get around certain regulations. I am a big fan of DeepOnion! I think this could of severely undervalued at the moment and has a huge potential!

If you look into altcoin there are a lot of coins having similar properties or they are indented for the same purposes. That is the reason we could not expect which one is going to stay with us  and which one will get dumped in near future. There are always huge risks in front of us if we choose investing into altcoins. I'm not looking for investing in altcoins so I am not worrying about this coins because I have plan to have only bitcoins.

ETH and BTC are the top two listed in most popularity of coin, so I think either of this two it is more stronger in this year because the fluctuation on its prices immediately grow and the demand bounceback again.

For me what is successful today will be successful tomorrow there is a possibility that they will not be successful anymore but in this case there are some coin that keeps on being successful no matter what happen because there are people that are loyal and they do mot want to use new coins they much preferred those old coins because that is much less riskier to them that is why bitcoins became a great coin because they had to the people first. So if there are new coins they have a lower chance to be on top immediately

coin type that I think in 2018 will be a very reliable coin and become a coin that began to be a big advantage is like Ethereum, Ripple, and Bitcoin Cash. I see some of these coins will be very able to be relied upon as the main coin. because premises of development that continue to increase will be very good for the future.

The strong type of coint in 2018, I think is ethereum, this coint also has a high selling price and of course is very good for investment, investing in ethereum is not a loss for the future

I think type coin will strong on this years still like bitcoin and ethereum. Bitcoin already know as private coin and can be a store of value like gold. Ethereum coin is good investment in 2018 too because this coin is most favoritable coin after bitcoin

I think these coins have platforms and each has its own distinction or advantages and platforms such as ETH and NEO etc.
The tunnels or coins are just programmed now presented as new ICOs, with great ideas.

Buy in only blockchain tokens, utilities tokens are good but you need to choose very wisely, you can check on ICOdrops on the performance of each coins after ICO, you can see that utilities tokens are mostly below ICO price, one reason is that they price it too high during ICO, before having actual product to be used.

Projects to avoid are $hitcoins and lending/ investment related projects, we already have BTC, LTC why we need another useless crypto and ponzi?

Eventually the project will just die off, for those of you who propose utilities or $hitcoins here do your own research before getting others into trouble

I make my stakes on the cheaper but promising altcoins. I know that Ethereum is great but it will not give more money than some smaller alts. Deal with TRON, Credits, Gladius, Crypterium, KickCoin, and you will win.

I think that POS coins are getting more than usable at the moment, most people is just looking for passive incomes without having to do anything in order to get them easily.

in my view, many coins are a good long-term and potential purchase in the future such as ETH and Ripple.

I prefer Ethereum and all coins which have the feature of smart-contracts are interesting for me. Bitcoin’s forks are good also. Most of my savings have been kept in Ethereum, Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash.

I think marketing related and technology related coins will be having a good market this year because i saw some coins from those field that pumped really good like the PRL which was finished few months back and it didn't have a good ICO run though the coin in the market during ATH of btc pumped way too high.

One of the issue in cryptocurrency market is scalability issue, so coin that will strong in this years is coin that will solved that problem. Some of these coin is BTC, ETH, ZIL, EOS. All these coin will solve scalability issue that possible to process amillion transaction per second.

I think coins based on smart contracts will be more successful. Ethereum and NEO are very strong. They have a strong infrastructure.

Hard to tell which altcoins WILL rise, but the only thing I'm almost certain of right now is that Bittrex & Poloniex coins are already dead, look for the new blood in the market, the good ones among them will pump at least twice before a new cycle of Altcoins enters the market
