FYI.  I have done my own research.  that 130,000 is a return from another coin.  Im thinking the safest to see a decent gain this year would be bitcoin or Eth.  Just curious what other think.  130 is a lot to loose so I dont want a higher risk coin like tron or verge.  Maybe Neo but you dont know what the chinese will do.  So should I 50/50 Bitcoin and Eth

Yes i dont suggest you to buy neo,  due to we dont know what will do in this year.  There's a lot rumor about China want againts bitcoin.  So for me,  i prefer you to spend all your money into ETH.  ETH is very promising crypto in this year,  and also i'm sure ETH will reach over $1500 in two months later.. Now it's the best chance to invest ETH,  due to i have looked in market last 24 hours ETH just $1000.

I definitely dont want anything risky.  I think both Eth in Bitcoin will go up a lot.  I think I will do a 50/50 eth /bitcoin buy.  I should be able to see a nice return at the end of the year.  Its amazing themore money youhave to invest the less risks you take

Second, one coin, two coins? You want low risk? There is a reason for stock market indexes being the least risky and good performance. One investment can tank, but if you spread it out over dozens, the entire market would have to go bust for you to lose.

That is quite a bit of cash to put into cryptos IMO. I don't think you can go wrong with the top 2 in total marketcap.

Spreading it out within the top 10 or 15 with more weight towards the top would be a good diversification. (May want to leave ripple out)

Scaling in would also be a good plan.

100% in ripple. look at their team and board of directors. if this market becomes regulated, you can bet ripple will be the last coin standing.

Thats what got me the 130,000.  Im not a big fan of ripple anymore.  After I learned that they dont use XRP in the actual money trasfers from country to country.  To me XRP is useless and I think ripple used XRP as a crow fund.  I would be to nervous to reinvest in ripple again

If you really want to invest all that, I suggest you split the funds. You can spend the $30,000 for different altcoins. And for the remaining $100,000, split that to bitcoin and ethereum since you're looking for safe coins. I suggest you invest in bitcoin and ethereum now as it is starting to go up again.

According to me the best coin to invest is bitcoin.Its is the most trusted coin in the cryptocurrency world.Bitcoin is the leader of all coin.It will give you very good return at the end of the year.

50:50 is good enough to invest in bitcoin and etherium because those two coin are very promissing.
However, i would suggest you to use 10% of that money to spread in good and promising ico.

I would choose Ethereum over Bitcoin right now just because there is more going for eth than btc.

Depends on the terms of your investments. If you are ready to leave those money in crypto for at least a couple years then you can buy BTC and just hodl. It won't be usefull  on the short terms because the market can dip very fast (like we've seen recently), so for example if any major ICO will scam or get hacked it can cause the bubble to blow up. But I'm sure that BTC will definetely recover in a long term. If you want the safe investments then make some research on stock market, especially on blue caps.

I think it more safe to buy 50% in BTC at lower price like $10k or $9k.
And another 50% you can buy and hold some good alt coins that i think will sky rocket in 2018 like ADA, XLM, XVG, ETN, VSX and some another coins.
Try to buy when it is cheaper, like these days and do not sell if price decrease, ust hold and wait to profit even it takes days, weeks or some months, dont be weak hands.

That's a big capital to invest on a digital currency. So if you are thinking of 50-50 percent  to both Bitcoin and Ethereum, that's a smart investment for you since both of these digital currency are stable and a long term type investment too.

Along with BTC and ETH, I would recommend the OP to also invest in some other altcoins like Ripple, Stellar, Dash, Doge or low priced coins because at present this low priced coins are rising 100% or above in single days. This will yield some erroneous profits and can make your portfolio jump high.

it is a good choice, I also just put my trust in bitcoin and ethereum if it will invest with huge funds, because if I choose altcoin I will feel haunted by a sense of fear for the funds I have.

Try placing on bitcoin, ethereum, and bitcoin cash why I am suggesting it in to be three because chances are the return on your investments might not be the other one well at least one or two of this placements you've made might be earning more one way or another. Also this three are one of the top in the coins of the cryptocurrency.

i woupd still go with btc. btc vqlu is low these days a good sign to buy and sell it on a higher price when prices starts to pump again. there are also potential alt coins there like ETH and ripple but value is still low. i would go with the biggest value and sell it with lots of profit.

I agree with you. Bitcoin, Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash are truly the safest investments with low risk both in the short term and the long term. Everyone knows how established and popular these 3 coins are in the crypto space and I would invest majority of my money into bitcoin because I believe that bitcoin will rise to extraordinary levels in the future. When it comes to high risk investments, I would invest into Electroneum and Ripple since I feel that these coins can potentially return superb profits in the short term, but the risk is huge in this case.

Buy some ETH and invest into altcoins like Digibyte. Invest into ICOs to get erc-20 tokens that has a lot of potential to gain more profit

I mean if it capable of doing that then you can do re-inevst into it and wait for it to pump again. Well, if thats not the case then you can easily put your money into BTC/ETH. In the both pairs also I would suggest you put some extra percentage into the ETH alone as you might be knowing that there is continued hype of the ETH this year and they all speculate that 2018 is the year of the ETH. On top of this I would love to suggest that do no invest the whole amount altogether because it would be great if you put some money into fiat and save it. This will minimise your risk a lot.

$130000 is a huge amount to invest, but i think you must go on etheruem, price was make their own way to make more fiat to exchange, and few months later etheruem price reach $2000.

I agree that spreading it out between top 10-15 cryptos would probably be the safest route. Maybe keep a bigger chunk in BTC and ETH and then an even spread.

Personally I wouldn't invest 130k into crypto. Crypto market is pretty risky but you can get reward for sure. My safe bets are ETH, STRAT, NEO and XRB.

The ideal formula does not exist, more precisely, it can only be calculated historically. I would in your case have diversified the portfolio to the top 10 crypto currency.

Diversify risks by buying 10 or 20 coins. Do another research to choose in which coins you want to invest.

I will advice you to split the money into 3. Use the first to invest in already available altcoin like eth, rxp, neo, iop etc.  Use the second part to hold some bitcoin and lastly reserach and invest in good ICO. take your time research about ArcBlock and other ICO.

130000$ is a huge amount of money. I think you should split it and buy Eth and Neo, and join some hyped ICOs. no need to invest in one coin always need to split your money. Like this will be safer

If you are keen on high risk and high return, you can just go ico hunting and look for potentially strong coins that could moon even its its just x10. If you found one early, buy during the presale (maximum they allow, of course!) and then wait for it to shine and collect your earnings. Do it multiple times.

Don't put all your money in one pocket. That's dangerous, buy different coins, that's how you can save and multiply your money.

I would split it into more coins. Instead of 50/50 ETH BTC, why not go for 33/33 ETH BTC, then 34% in smaller coins that are still likely to have a big increase? Not very small risky coins, but you could put some into projects such as NEO or NEM, and several thousand into smaller ones - Walton or Aragon for example. Even a few thousand in these could reap huge returns.

We don't know yet much about ICOs, yes some of them successfully went till like 5x or even 10x from last year which is great return, but this whole market built around ICOs is still relatively new so it could have it's own risks. He can however try to invest into some alts or ICOs even but I wouldn't advise him to put all of his money there but to diversify by putting majority into btc and eth and rest simply to "bet" on ICOs.

We've seen NEOs raise last year which was outstanding with low investment like 1k$ you would have few hundreds of dollars, so yeah ICOs and alts are not to be thrown away as there is still profit that can be made.

That is a huge amount to invest and I must say that you invest only half of it and make sure you research very carefully of the coins you will buy. Make sure also that you buy at least more than 20 coins so that you money is diversify.

If I would have $130,000 I will invest with ethereum, ripple, litecoin because of its increasing demand and INS this coins will probably hit hard at the top in a long term, connecting consumers and grocery manufacturers is a good idea to avoid third party.

If you have 130000$ you need to chop it and half invest in some promising alt( eth, neo ,nem) and half invest in good ICO. Maybe in two ICOs one hyped second one dark horse this will bring more profit to you.

So many coins are in circulation right now, but only a few are very good.
If it is planning to invest long-term, 50% investment in ETH. As we know ETH is good for the long term.
25% in bitcoin.
And 25% on the other coins, I have some recommendations that I think are very good. I have IOTA, ADA and XRP or WAVES.
Do some research, it will help to see the side of a coin and you will find out whether the coin is good or not for you to invest later.

This is actually a good time to invest, since the market has recently become bloody and prices are cheap.

Try to invest on worthy projects with a good future, specially the ones with a functional platform (bittrex said the coins without a fully working product will be delisted from their exchange and they will have a good chance of going to zero price if bittrex or other exchanges delist them). I dont think put that very much money just into 2 coins is good idea.
I more suggest to put at least 10 type different of altcoin like waves, monero litecoin too. So you can do your own research for the rest.

according to me thats a lot of money to invest and you must sit down give time and calculate what percent you are investing in which coin and how much profit you are expecting from each investment.
i suppose you invest 45% IN BITCOIN
30% IN ETHEREUM
15% IN NEO
10% IN LITECOIN.
if you are looking for a long term investment you can invest 5% in ripple too and make it 10% in NEO.
keep up with the market on a daily basis and also do occasional analysis of where you are standing like once every month or when there is a sudden correction in multiple coins like that happened this time.

Buy btc and eth is a great idea for a "safe" investment, but why don't buy, with a small part of your money something more risky but with more chance of profit?

These 2 coins are really safe for a long term investment. But it is your choice. Make some researches before invest on any coin.

You should leave a good amount into Bitcoin and Ethereum in the first time! Another interesting project is Modum, they already have some nice partnerships and a working product that they are going to release soon. Neufund is also one of the big players that is still in early stages.

If you want to make big money you have to take risks. If you do not take risks, you can not make big money. Do not forget this! I suggest you invest in NEO.

I will invest DeepOnion, BTX, ETH, and HSR. DeepOnion and BTX have airdrop program which can be a good way to hold for your future, and ETH will boom in the future I am very sure. For HSR, I think it has a really good idea to connect different blockchain, but it's not an easy project.

You've mention the two best coin right now and you don't want to lose that $130k right so just stick and go on with btc and eth, split your investment in that two. Choosing only those on top making you atleast safe from getting scammed or lose. There's also some alts that is good out there, just check/search for it but if I were to invest such money i'll just stick on btc and eth

My choice is bitcoin,Ethereum,Dash,Ripple and you put 25% in each coin all these coins are in top 10 list in this market. And all  are public favourite.

Since you have a big amount, you should consider some of it in the king, Bitcoin.
My altcoin suggestions include:

In my mind ripple will rule the roost..i would suggest populate ico for listing gains too specially when you have that much money you can get in at an early stage for 50% discount

I hate Ripple tbh, it's a centralized coin that works against what crypto has the potential to be in my mind. I think Neo, UBIQ, DRGN and ETH are all pretty good and safe investments for 2018. I would put 50% in BTC and maybe spread the other 50 between the four coins I mentioned... But that's just me. BTC should have a really good 2018!

If I have such fund then I will invest big in the two giants I.e Bitcoin and Ethereum. Those coins are for long term investment with such fund.

Of course if you look at the best safe coins now to invest, i prefer bitcoin or ethereum, because both coins have a good future and apart from year to year the price is always increasing.

First of all congrats on making a handsome sum of money. If I were you I would distribute it 3 ways, 33% I would put into bitcoin as I believe that btc has a long way to go from here and will exist even when most alts will vanish. Rest 33% I would put into eth and last share would go into NEO as 2018 brings a lot of developments for NEO and also various NEO based ICO's are on its way.

Already you know crypto are high risk investment. We can only just hope we don't lose anything. In my opinion, you should invest in Ethereum if the following apply to you:

• Risk tolerant
• Patient and level-headed
• Do not need the money for at least 2–3 years
• Looking for high upside
• Only invest money you can afford to lose

If you are able to endure the volatility and hold Ethereum long-term, it will likely be a great investment.

Bitcoin have to be a part of a bigger list. You have to diversify.
You mentioned Ethereum, but you should widen the list - maybe add Neo, maybe Waves too, maybe some other smart contract or ICO platforms.
Then you could add some anon coins. Monero, maybe Dash, AEON, ZCash, whatever you think they have better year.
Iota or Byteball could be another direction.

Since you want to stay safe, I advise to also invest in something different from crypto. Maybe gold, maybe bonds...

Question is not weather the coin is centralized or decentralized or what principles it has and what are particular goals of one coin. Question is can you make money? Are people going to buy and invest into ripple and the answer is yes, from my perspective there is money to be made. As I said let the man think for himself as who knows if trusting random people over the internet is healthy for his investment.

That amount of money is huge for most. You will be facing a lot of risks if you invest that much. Which is why a better strategy would be to increase your chance of earning profit by purchasing various coins/alts which are under a dollar. This way you’ll get more coins and once they increase you will bag huge profit. Just remember to HOLD until you feel that your earnings are too much for you to bear.

Bitcoin and ether - the safest coins for investment in the year in my opinion. But if you want to get more profit in a short period, then you can allocate 10% of the funds for investing in promising altcoins.
