Everyone now in the forum specially low ranked users has only one target : how can I get free merit points , I have the solution for you :
1- improve your writing style
2- try to read posts before relying so you don't repeat something already said
3- improve your English or just stay in your local board
4- try to avoid participating in signature campaigns because this is the big issue in this forum and the reason of the low quality posts nowadays
If you're here to make money then there is millions of opportunities and ideas in this forum that should help you , not only signature campaigns .
Anyway I advice you to forget about getting something free here , every thing has a price , even this post has a price , his price is my time .  ;)

I agree to all your points buddy which is mainly about increasing the quality of the posts you make and that was the whole point of the new merit system. But the 4th point you made will be quite difficult to follow for many people here because the sad reality is I have seen many here who just have signed up on the forum to rank up as jr. Member and above, join a signature campaign and start to earn money. Many people just think this forum was made to just earn money through signature campaigns, that's what I have observed here maybe I'm wrong.

Not all of us are desperate to increase our merit count. I'd like to try to influence people into using their point donations to improve post quality, and increase serious discussions. However, it looks as if most people see the merit system as a barrier to sig spamming, and hope to overcome this.

Of course I will,be flattered and encouraged by Merit points awards, but my sig allowance at the moment is sufficient to allow me to post a few domain names for sale, and I have no intention of spamming some service that I wouldn't use just to scratch a bit of extra cash.

It would have been better if you made the heading like how to get merit. Writing it as free merit gives a thought of possibility for paid merit as well.

I am sure that having good English helps you write constructive posts but this is not the compulsory requirement for a quality post. The intentions and attitude of the member should also be considered.

I just used the word free only to get more attention for the topic because I know that this could be an attraction , the message that I'm trying to send is there are a lot of opportunities in the forum to get money easier than trying to be enrolled in signature campaign , when I joined this forum my intention was to get information and get more closer to the cryptocurrencies world but when I understood the purpose of this forum I tried to share my knowledge and my opinion also with others .

those people who thought that this forum was created to only earn money are totally wrong and should find better idea to get money , why not just try mining or trading coins in cryptocurrency market , they could get much profit , buy the way what they should do with this few dollars collected every week , for me the amount can't even cover my beers cost every week , sad story yeah I know this amount could mean a lot for somebody's around the world but as I said they could do better

Agree. It is unfair for people who joined this forum before merit system was introduced. Grandfather rule must be applied as it does in almost all legal systems.

I am newbie here and i am patiently waiting for me to know everything about this forum and now i start reading everything fore me to get ideas then also im asking those friend of mine who already earn from this forum.thanks to you for your informative sharing here.

Why it is unfair? I think this rule is positive. It will increase post quality in this forum. I have another suggestion-The  signature campaign weekly post must be highest 10 that can help removing spam.

It can help lessening spam posts, but not the amount of low-quality posts. But the mindset of "just completing the weekly requirement" would still be there.

Over time no content posters will be eliminated, why? Because managers of campaigns will require a minimum merit score, so this may take some time to kick in but when it does shitposters won't get paid. So they will either leave or learn how to post in a constructive manner.

Come back in 3 months and my bet is we will have less daily posters and a much cleaner and constructive forum

I agree with you but i seriously think this new Merit system will soon start merit marketplace somewhere where people will start trading or buying/selling merit points, i do not think this can be stopped, the forum needs to implement simple ranking structure Merit is ok but i know that people will be manipulating it for sure.

Merit is the points given to you if you're post become useful and constructive.  You can get free merits by creating meaningful topics to gain merits. I have sometips to have free merits.
1. Make your topic creative so that it can be easy to see.
2. Make your topic useful so that you can help anybody.

You may be merited if your topics are constructive, useful and meaningful.

This topic (received merits) only shows how disabled is this system and how easily (before merit system) some of users got high ranks which don't deserve to have.

Yes as what he stated 1, 2, and 3 i did not opposed of that in fact that is really nice to happen now here in forum. But i think the number 4 for me is not right, i joined signature campaign to push me on how to have a quality post and improve my performance because i know they are paying to do that. Doing a quality poster is on the beholder of a member if he willing to change his attitude that to be improved his/her post he can do.
Remaining in signature campaign for me is the best way to post and count a good quality post. :D

I'm sure there are thousands of back-door, black market deals going on via PMs, e-mails, and posts on other forums, with people trying to buy merit and so forth.  I know it's going to happen, but this whole system has made it much harder for the typical shitposting fool to rank up an account.  I do love it so.  And I'm actually surprised there are still so many one-line crap posts being submitted here.  Not much to gain by doing that anymore.  It'll be nice when signal:noise starts getting cranked up.

Thank you for pointing this out DU18. OP highlighted in his set of rules how one should read through or check out threads before replying so that no repetition of answers or topics would happen, but here he is going against his own stated rules. I've seen numerous threads of the same topic, but this one gained the most merits at one giving. We all have the freedom to give our merits to anyone we want as long they are deserving. I really think there are far more better posts that are deserving of such merits. How can we make this forum better if these types of threads deserve such recognition? Let's all be responsible in giving merits, please. People should not incorporate their abusive ways in the new system just like what spam posters do.

I don't think that this merit system will start something like that after all merits are limited and should only be given to deserving posts. And many people here regardless of rankings have been helping the forum to find suspected, potential, and real abusers of this merit system and WE can report them here:

In short, all of us are being observed by everyone as well. It doesn't actually mean you MUST do it, but if you don't want this trade/buy merits to happen, we may help as well to prevent more users who farm or abuse the new system. It is unfair anyway for anyone who indeed made quality post but didn't received any merits while someone's short and nonsense post gets merits.

We may have our own decision to give merit to someone but we need to remember that our decision should be aligned with rules of merit system.

Yes a newbie can still receive merit in order for him to rank up but he can't send merit as newbie and junior member don't have sendable merit. I hope that answer your question.

I also feel that recently. Actually, I think merit farming is going straightly and there is anyone to see it. maybe still now multiple users are available there improving Own ID with merit farming. The merit system is too much difficult to get the merit for a new member.

There is no such things as free merit, I think you will be merited if you have a quality post, which is the main reason why bitcoin has a merit system. This merit system encourage us to improved ourselves' our writting style and our english.

All the smerit of one account is for free but it would gives to those account who are clearly make constructive post which contributed alot to the community of this forum. Also dont beg for the merit its shows you are greedy person wants merit for your goods and not the forum. Some signature campaigns now require at least full member to join. Say goodbye to low quality, spam post, easy earn money through signature. Merit system force BTT members invest more time and brain into their post and hope this post will receive some merit.

It is clear that merit is not for sale. It is just an systematic procedure to make yourself highly valued from other users. As Op mentioned you need not pay something, just make yourself knowledgeable about the cryptocurrencies and the way of expressing will get the best merit points.

Agreed that the new merit system favours the existing members with no basis of validation.  Be that as it may, any new meta (see what I did there  ;)) always needs time for a correction.

I guess this is not free, because there is no benefit of SALE. There are many good threads that encourage users to make helpful suggestions about questions others need to know, and improve the quality of this forum, as we see most of the opinions put into each thread have been created for payment for their campaigns. As far as I know, we just need to improve how our posts can benefit other members and have a good or new education or information.
And I am also aware that there are still many things that I need to improve upon.

In my opinion there is no free merit unless they reward us for being good  posting in forum.We should learn how to make a constructive post and better grammar in english to make others give merit to us.Merit system is a big challenge for those are hard in english but as long we can try what we want to achieve in bitcoin we need to learn more.

The user that sent the merit is in the same time zone as the user that received it too.... they probably know each other in real life.

No reason for damnation - some DT members are doing the same thing to each other.

We need to allow TIME for the merit system to sort itself out.  Those that hand out massive amounts of merit will soon run out, unless they are a source.  In which case, Theymos will notice it and remove them as a source.

The nice thing about the merit system is that (unlike trust) every transaction is public.  We can see that user A sent user B a ton of merits for all time.  :)

Seriously, they wont have tons of merits to exchanging each other. The problem is with temporary rules of merit system, we can not do anything to punish those ones, which will lead to deteriorating believe on positive impacts of merit system.
I think Theymos will release new rules for merit system in the coming weeks to control them.

merit is one of the requirements to level up, the higher your rank in the forum then the higher your salary in the signature campaign, with the merit rules then we all have to learn to make a good post and useful for all of us

It's good to see how some people are considerate and show affection on how to help others to gain merits.
But as others have said. This is just another duplicate topic. It is not needed anymore.
And what gets me a bit angry is that you got 50 merits for it which might be better if this merits are distributed to newbies who really deserved even a portion of that amount.

I wanna just make some points clear here :
1- when I created this topic I didn't expect to have such a number of replies and views so for that I'm so glad  .
2- I really appreciate some replies specially from newbies and junior members and happy that somehow this post should help them to make a good contribution on this forum .
3 - I didn't expect either to get 51 merit points for this post and specially 50 merit from only one person and for that I saw many replies accusing me and this user being farming accounts . If someone have a prove to that he can just report that for moderators . If this is farming than this account should be at least a full member rank by this time .
4 - also accusing that  My account is an alt of the hero member who gives me the 50 merit has no sense , it's not my alt account and even if it is , I believe that having alt account is not considered a crime .
5 - it was not my purpose by this created topic to get merit points , I wanted only to advice new users to focus on opportunities here in the forum more than trying to get merit to rank up and try to be enrolled in signature campaigns . We all need cash but there are multiple ways to get it not only from campaigns.
Finally - I don't need merit points and I don't even need to rank up , I was totally surprised getting that because I really consider that my post may help some people but not deserve that much of merit . Since this is a duplicate topic as you said, I do not why have given unnecessary bump to this non live thread. You need to check your query by creating the own thread on the same board or elsewhere to report the alt users. DTs and Moderator very strict towards the scammers and alt users.

But,I don't think, working in signature campaign can do any harm in getting merits.Rather it will help one to get involved in better signature campaigns.Because, good signature campaigns give us some rules like scam,or shit posts won't be counted. Consider this as an exception. Such cases are happening even after members keep reporting them and these accounts getting negative trust. Some members will never give up on cheating. They make it look so obvious that it is very easy to spot. There cannot be two opinions that this post did not deserve 50 merit points. Not only those 50 merit points got wasted (which should have gone to genuine posts) , it also gives a wrong message to the people seeing this. This is a big discouragement for a member who is trying to level up following all rules here.

Merits is free and will always be, if you want it by true way. This is given by the forums to distribute in quality posts. The main initiative is to reduce the no. Of spammers in the forum who just want to participate in signature campaigns.

I am unable to understand how signature campaign participation can affect getting merits.  Making  quality post just depends upon one's ability to express himself over the subject for which he is having knowledge.  Now if he wears signature I am sure it will not affect his writing ability.
Though nothing is free in this world, we have to pay something in return for what we receive.  Suppose I write and post some topic, my expression, presentation, message is liked by some senior ; in return he may send merit.  Though I have paid nothing in physical but the knowledge I expressed is the value I paid which could increase / satisfy the knowledge level of merit sender.

I don`t understand why you don`t follow you own rules. Your writing style isn`t such an excellent one. You have created a topic that has already been mentioned thousands of times. You didn`t write anything new and useful. And most importantly, your post does not fully match the title of your topic. You make grammatical mistakes, so your English is not very good. And you participate in signature campaigns, although you recommend that others don`t.

Exactly DIA7 sent him all his merits he gets when the system was introduced. This is his alt account or just merit abuse. Why there is no red trust given to this accounts?

Of course it is a very obligatory thing to do. Creating good post quality and also contributing to the forum is a thing to be fulfilled when we want to get merit. If you see some users who get merit but they actually do not have the quality then I make sure they do unfair actions. They do something that is not commendable in order to qualify to follow the signature campaign. Let's contribute and we will get a satisfactory result and do not forget not to be a scammer and spammers. Because It can harm ourselves and also others. Struggling with a contribution will be far more valuable than we earn a little money. By making a good contribution then we can earn more money. Trust me !!

Merits are free you just need to have a good comments and posts. Response to other questions nicely. Spread useful information and you users will give you merits.

I do not know how many posts I am reading about this tip responding to questions nicely, spreading useful information but I don't see this kinds of posts being given a merit.

After the first month that the Merit is implemented, a lot of posts are being merited, I mean that is great but after another month, the merit being given dumps low. I know this since a lot of good posts now don't have merits.

Because at this point everything has been repeated. It doesn't deserve merit when it's already been discussed about 10 times this week. If you have a genuine new discussion and you answer the questions intelligently then you'll get merits. Doesn't mean you'll get it every time you answer one.

I think if good skills in English can be improved by seriously posting it. I will know about cryptocurrency in the literary campaign. Here it is known about the whole world. I will know about different things and share with others. I have to improve quality more importantly.

Your points are well on check. Especially the last one. Nothing is for free to get anything, one have to work their way out for it. If everyone is concerned so much about getting merits some persons might lose sight of what this forum is really about. I suggest for once, we all take a break from seeking to get merit and focus on learning which specifically is what the forum was built for.

This was just your own means of farming for merit. I'm here like how the hell did you get 50merits for saying nothing. Maybe you just exchanges merits between your account but you should have done that reasonably and in buts not just dump the whole merit once. Newbies and juniors should avoid joining signature campaigns. The reasons are that they are still new and the signature campaigns need better exposure for the business which initiated them. On the other hand newbies should work getting to know the forum and how everything works here. Read more than you write posts. Gradually you will be able to make constructive posts and in turn get merits to rank up as well. Its a slow and stedy race and not a shitposting spree to get paid.

@OP nothing come for free in this world. This "free money" attitude of shitposters in this forum is the reason why its going to hell.

This is very ironic for you. You advised people to avoid joining signature campaigns, but here you are. And I don't think not having a signature campaign would really give you a chance of receiving a number of merits. I mean it has nothing to do with it, simply it depends on the user. If that user can cope up to the required number of posts as well as having quality posts, then that's good. For example you have 20 posts requirement for that signature campaign, you could plan for a schedule like 5 posts per day. Making 5 quality post for the day is more than enough time to do so.

I think other way how to get merit is just to be helpful to others, for example providing some service and in return you get not only paid for it but then you have a ground for asking for some merit.

The merit system is part of the new social media rating concept " Proof of Brain " - it doesn't seem to have worked in this case. :)

I've just realized and it's shocked me.
No offense, but by looking the OP posts summary, it's counting +170 posts since merit system was implemented. And he got all these merits only on this thread, what a surprise he made!

Same here!! The OP thought he could outsmart us by posting a qualifying post that could help people. So, if he got 50 merit points, no one would blame him or accuse him. It sounds very fishy for me to be honest. His idea was suggested by many other members on this forum and no one got 50 merit points. I do not see how this thread deserves many points. One merit point per user is enough if you ask me.

Yep - a couple more candidates for the ignore list. Not that they appear to need my merits, but I'll use them for more deserving members.

Merit system was created to stop spamming endemic and allocating merit points to only deserved threads. Therefore, merits are not totally free. Users should and have to do something to earn merits, specifically making contributions to the forum via their threads, topics, infographics, etc.

there is no such free merit..merits are given to those users who has a lot of experience in this king of business. i am having a hard time getting those merits eventhough my post are useful or has a sense. unlike others who is given merits but when you look at their post, the post is not that great.
