Title: A fun little project: The 2018 Shitcoin List
Post by: LeRatton on January 31, 2018, 05:02:21 AM
Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to share a fun project I am starting. It's call The Shitcoin List ( www.TheShitcoinList.Com (http://www.TheShitcoinList.Com) ). The idea is that I can make some pretty good returns by "blindly" investing in a list of Altcoins (or Shitcoins) generated by scanning the entire crypto market for coins that fit a specific financial criteria.

The investment is not 100% blind as the list is filtered through actual research: coin financial, project information, project development and current status, team, exchanges trading, etc.

So, a group of friends and I got together and came up with The 2018 Shitcoin List. Immediately after (or as in crypto terms, once my fund were transferred to the specific exchanges and were ready to use) I started funding each coin with an initial investment of $100.00/coin. This may not seem much but at the end of the day this is just a fun little project.

The list has some pretty cool projects like Viberate, Streamr Data, Snovio, Request Network, Simple Token and others.

There are no rules specific to this project except I won't sell any specific coin for 2x, 3x, or even 5x. The idea is that an incredible return can be achieved by going dumpster diving for hidden gems. I am targeting 7500% Return on Investment.

I will be updating the website and this thread daily.

Good Luck to us all!

with an Investment return target of 7500%, a very interesting and extraordinary offer. is it the minimum target or maximum target?

what platform are you using?
have you created a thread announcement here?

An interesting point of view. But it has the right to life. In fact, I personally know a couple of examples, when on shitcoins did good money. The main thing is not to miss the moment when there will be inexplicable growth, and you have time to sell it. However, you must be prepared for the fact that no growth will occur. And you will lose some of the investment.

Thanks for the comments and the interest in the project.

ALEXASONDA: Check the website for the platforms that trade these coins. I am not thinking about trading them for gains but rather invest at let them do their thing.

PEARLSOME: You are right, one would have to be at the top of the game as to not miss a spike in price. That said, I am not selling individual coins unless they have more than 10X returns individually.

One rule I am thinking about adopting is Buying in a down turn, like the one we are experiencing now, just to better my average. Although his goes against the primary point of " Set it and forget it". So we will see.

Since this is a 2018 Shitcoin List, the game ends at the end of the year. And then a 2019 Shitcoin list will start.

The 2017 Shitcoin List

Our 2017 Shitcoin List had RaiBlocks $XRB at $0.03 in May 25th, when the list was created. So yeah, we are on to something!

I will write about the 2017 Shitcoin List and add pictures when I get a chance.

An interesting project, but it has good companies, such as Syscoin, Tierion, Request Network. Based on which analysis these projects were added to the list?
A real scam project is a stox. I do not know these projects (Streamr DATA, YOYOW), but I don't believe that Bitfinex has added scam projects.

Thanks ALEKSANDR! Yes, the list contains some real good projects. The analysis was based on financial first: volume traded vs rank vs market capital, market capital vs circulating supply vs total supply. The we combed through the first list looking at trading platforms, team members, project information, etc.

The technique may sound complicated but it really wasn't. At the end, we were pretty happy with the results. One of the reason is that we trusted the technique and blindly combed through the crypto market and we needed up with what we though be great projects that were very undervalued.

Time will tell.

But for now, I will cry myself to sleep:

From my Twitter Account: https://twitter.com/LeRatton/status/959293514906390529

Holy Shitcoin! #The2018ShitcoinList currently at -35% ROI!! 😅 Www.TheShitcoinList.Com #cryptocrash #bitcoincrash Our Biggest Losers $SNOV and $DBC Let's just go cry ourselves to sleep right?

So I wanted to share an update:

We are truly in the shit house with close to -40% losses in our Shitcoin List Portfolio! 🤪 Things are getting out of hand! But we are Landing on the Moon or bust! http://Www.TheShitcoinList.Com

Best Performer $SYS at -8%. Worst performers are $DBC and $SNOV at a heart breaking -70% each!

I am beginning to move some cash to ETH to start buying these coins and lower my average. I think this is fair since I won't be selling anything and I won't pick and choose but rather buy same amounts in ETH for all.

Keep it up I like the fact that you are not hiding your losses, after all the only ones not losing money right now are those that invested in a particular coin that is growing or those that are out of the crypto market, for example most of my money is in bitcoin so since the all time high I'm at about 66% loss in bitcoin so your numbers are not that bad.

THANKS! Yes, diversification helps. I have some coins at -70% and some at -8% and lots in between at -20% only so that help.

I am not hiding losses or pretending I'm a genius. This is just a fun project. And we are talking about $1,600 investment so it is not the end of the world if it goes to zero. Actually if it goes to zero at least I will have a decent funny crypto story to tell.

Disclaimer: I am in lots of other coins too.

XMRG should be crowned the winner since the devs minted like 10000 Billion tokens the night after they marketed and did the airdrop and scammed a ton of people out of their money. I didn't lose anything except the opportunity I had to cash in my 1200 free tokens while it was being pumped (I would have made about $150).

XMRG Shitcoin of the year so far.

I have never heard of XMRG but I did a quick search and holy shitcoins.... I would have to read the thread here and check twitter to know the whole story but wow that drop and that bag and that run LOL... glad you came out unhurt... and their website.... https://monero-gold.org (https://monero-gold.org)  smh

But my Shitcoin List is different, I am going after great projects at shitty valuations. I know there are a lot that I could be adding in a daily basis but these are actual coins I bought and I wasn't willing to drop $1,000 every week lol.

Lots of "shitcoins" out there.  Should be interesting to follow your project.

Thanks for sharing!

Another day, another shitcoin right?

The list was based on a series of filters applied to the entire crypto haha and I just blindly bought them. I will keep posted every day!

Don't throw actual money into SHITCOIN. Just do simulation trading and you'll be fine...

SHITCOINS will be dead in 2018, when this giant shit bubble bursts. Expect some 98%-99% loss in your SHITfolio lmfao.

Too Late! I agree that most overvalued shitcoins will be forever gone but not the ones I picked. These were filtered intelligently. We just had bad timing.

Best of luck! I do think you have some winner shitcoins in there. Do you have any further info on what sort of financials you looked for in these coins?

Thanks! And GL to you! I may share the strategy we used later in the project. But what I can say is we only used public information. We did not engage teams on Slack or Discord and we did not search for or used gossips o insider news in our decision making.

Haha! This is a very funny topic. I wish the author good luck and will follow your adventures. And were there any cases when the splinters were undervalued gave a profit of 1000 percent or more?

Thanks! Yes, our 2017 Shitcoin List had Raiblock on our list at $0.03. and it peaked at $34 this year. (You do the math for fun.. but basically you turn $100 into $113,000)

Our goal is to do it again in 2018.

By the way, we are at -36%  :'(

I probably have an account on all of them, Except Bitfinex, I had one but then they started kicking out accounts from people living in the US. The exchanges used to buy the coins on the 2018 list is mentioned at the bottom of the website Www.TheShitcoinList.Com

Hey $100 a coin is a good idea. Spread it around in shitcoins and if you lose it, not a huge deal but if it goes 200x then you just made a ton of money from doing nothing at all. Why not? There are always going to be new winner popping up. Just knowing when to get out will be that hardest part. I wish I got out of some of my ICOs early on when there was lots of hype with them because they're dead now (in terms of price not moving up anymore at all).

Thanks! And you get the point. $100 per coin is not a big investment. Spending $1,600 total is not a huge loss if it all goes to zero.

Plus, it is not like I am investing in Pepe Coin (which btw would have also made you a lot of money had you invested in January 2017)

And true, the hardest part would be to know when to exit. As I stated above, I won't plan to sell for 2x or even 5x. The goal is to keep them for maximum gains or bust in the process, so a coin going above 5x ROI would be a good candidate. I use a Google Spreadsheet to follow my total gains. I setup my own sheet to follow real time valuations for each coin, track return on investment and total losses or gains. Check this tutorial: https://jbuty.com/how-to-get-crypto-currencies-rates-and-more-in-google-sheet-1a57e571bc14 or Just Google "Google Sheets Cryptofinance".

Love Tron! Specially at these prices!

Thanks for the support! And by no means I encourage anyone to follow my steps haha. Please everyone read original post so that you can get an idea of the project.

Why the enjin coin in your list?

Enjin Coin is a great project and it fit the criteria. It was spitted out by our algorithm as a potential coin to kick ass in 2018 and extremely undervalued.

I think you'll do better once the market turns around. You would of been down in profits even with non shitcoins

Great Great point. For instance, We are currently down -38% "ONLY". BTC has dropped twice that and most coins too. The reason we only are -38% is because these coins were identified as undervalued and we are leveraging in the power of diversification. Some dropped 70% like $DBC and $SNOV but most coins are closer to 30% and some in positive 8% like $SYS.

I can not be sure that the shitcoin project has serious prospects for the future. I do not think it's a good idea to buy such projects. But the choice of course for you and support such projects, I'm also not going to

That's why I am willing to invest what I can afford to lose. I suggest everyone to do the same.

$ENJ gaining some back. $SNOV and $DBC not totally sucking.

Another Update:

Our Shitcoin List Portfolio has definitely hit bottom.

This may be the time to add to these Zombie projects! 😅

$DBC and $SNOV have made some good gains but we are still way down on all of them.

$SYS at +11%

Another update!

Our shitcoins pumping just a tiny itty bit now. We at -35% ROI. Bottom's in?

$SNOV having a comeback
$FUEL kicking butt this morning
$REQ doing its part

The rest are doing pretty much nothing with slight gains against the USD but not so much against BTC.

Losing our shirts here haha

We are at:

-45.7%

If and when I hit -50% then I will add to each coin.

Everything pretty much cratering. I am still fully behind projects like $SNOV $DATA $ENJ $REQ $OST ... pretty much the entire list

Guy, another quick update:

Our Shitcoin List Portfolio still very much in the shit house (pun very much intended).

We at -45%.

The projects really lagging behind are Snovio, DeepBrainChain. With the rest of the portfolio hanging at around -30%.

Request Network really pulling a bit but our purchase price is keeping us way under.

Our only performer in Green is Syscoin!

Feel like this is the time to start adding to my bags. Bitcoin has been going kind of sideways for a few days.

Goldman Sachs buying Poloniex, US talking regulation or at least not fucking things up.

Future looks bright!

Update:

Alright! #The2018ShitcoinList is only at -46%!

Feel like a champ here. Biggest losers are the same $DBC $SNOV, in green $SYS with $ENJ and $NXT pushing through a little.

Stay Strong Crypto Nerds!

SYS is a great project. I'm with you, this could be the one with the big returns.

There are a few others that I really like, Enjin, Streamer Data, Snovio... I think I really like all of them.

By the way,

Performance at -49%

LOL....

Out of words

Lol! This could work out or could be a complete disaster! Many project that is been referred to as "shitcoin" are project that have not develop or mature. But out of desperation  of some impatient investors, those coin were dumped real hard. I am sure there is still diamond in the ruff

So far it is looking like a complete disaster hahaha but that's ok, I am having a lot of fun managing the portfolio and researching more and more about these projects and others.

In crypto space, -50% drop can be a thing of every other week. Gotta be able to stomach a -50% if you want 1000% returns later.

By the way this is very off-topic but I wanted to check your opinion on hardware wallets. Looks like there are only three wallets most used by everyone:

  • Ledger
  • Trezor
  • KeepKey

I am really liking KeepKey and the reason is that they are owned by Shapeshift which I really like and use all the time. But I hate that KeepKey does not have a stand alone wallet software or even a web wallet but rather a Chrome or Firefox Add-on. I may be thinking this is unsafe but perhaps you guys know better.

Interesting project. ;D

Will definitely be following just to see what happens!

Thank you for the information on the new project, read it, analyze it. But I adhere to most of the many that this is just a pump.

Please don't take this as a "Buy My Coins"... That's not the point of this project. Please read original post.

I think the loss in investing doesn't mean that the coin is shit. yes, bitcoin, etherum, and other altcoins are falling right now. so is it worth calling it shitcoin? I think the exchange rate is low, it doesn't make it a real scam. in my opinion the scam is when the token is not actually in the list of exchangers, or even not distributed to the bounty hunters.

I can't open your website, something wrong with your link.  Man, I think you are crazy, with 7500% ROI target.  LOL.
How much money did you use in total?  It's better if you give that money to me but of course it's not fun, right?   ;D
