I prefer electrum; syncing up with the network and DLing the chain just takes too much time with the stock wallet.

Armory if you want full control of your wallet. Can you recommend me some good illuminati/bilderberg-free wallets, Actor_Tom_Truong?

I have heard that there is a steep learning curve with electrum. Do you have to be a coder to figure it out?

I  like multibit but it didnt accept a return transfer that I tried. I sent out money and when it came time for the money to be returned it never arrived. Not sure if it was just that wallet or it was blockchain.

Not as far as I know; I believe each electrum wallet requires you to know or have recorded your seed, but otherwise operates like a normal wallet.  The seed is a long string of words that can be used to recover your wallet if it's ever lost.

LMAO you are right SSL can't be brought anonymously. LOL don't you know what SSL is? It is just so you know that you are connecting to the right site, and it can't be read if their was a middle man. Yes I am a php/js developer and every piece of code has bugs in it. That is just the nature of the beast, but a web wallet has too many attack points. It isn't safe, but that isn't my money so do what you want. Don't whine when your money is gone cause I be sure to link back to this convo ;)

Hell, I'll shamelessly self-promote if asked :)

https://bitcoinpaperwallet.com

Because:

  • It's offline (won't get hacked)
  • It resists being accidentally compromised (e.g. photocopied or scanned by helpful family member)
  • I know I can trust the generator (I forked it from bitaddress.org myself)

https://bitcoinpaperwallet.com/images/wallet-in-ziplock-bag.jpg

For a "hot" wallet to spend or receive smallish amounts of BTC, my favorite is just blockchain.info using the chrome extension.

Kipochi wallet is the best.

https://kipochi.com/

On the website for Kipochi, it states that ... "1 Bitcoin is currently worth 3,853.36 $. This is way to much to use for normal day to day transactions. The bitcoin currency supports transactions down to 0.00000001 Bitcoin. The Bitcoin community has decided that MilliBit or 0.001 is the most useful unit in the immediate future."

Plus there are numerous spelling errors throughout the site, and when you go to download the app, it asks only for your telephone number first.  Clearly this is a scam of some sort.  Will you be calling that number to request help bailing out your uncle who has a billion dollar check he can't cash, and if we would only send 500 dollars, you will give us 500,000 for our troubles?"    Thanks but NO thanks.

Be careful, folks.

any suggestions for iOS wallets?

+1 for Blockchain wallet for day-to-day. I have iOS and got it to work fine. There are some minor glitches when doing initial setup, but now everything's up and running. I signed up on Chrome first, then linked my Phone to the wallet by scanning the QR code.

Worked beautifully when trying out the Lamassu ATM at the San Jose conference.

Don't trust it on my word! Just run a "diff" between the two HTML files and you'll see that the only significant changes are in the user interface and graphics, not in the crypto. Well there's one difference -- Gavin Andresen sent me a patch to take advantage of better crypto available in some browsers, and that's been folded into https://bitcoinpaperwallet.com (https://bitcoinpaperwallet.com) as well.
