If BTC hits $50,000, what price will Bitcoin Cash be? Will it rise in tandem with the bitcoin price or will it reduce as money is transferred into BTC?

I think it ultimately depends on HOW bitcoin reaches 50k.

The difference between BCH and BTC is that BCH has a larger block size, which can hold more transactions. At the time of the fork, the reason for this is so that more transactions can fit in a block thus increasing waiting times, and also reduces the large bitcoin transaction fees.

Now, there is a lot of talk recently about the lightning network. In my opinion, if LN actually works and becomes massively adopted, then Bitcoin Cash would not have any value anymore, since it's only purpose of existing is already solved in Bitcoin.

If BTC somehow reaches 50k without implementing LN or solving the scalability problems, then BCH still has some use cases, and would still be of value.

True but this is something "if" LN is implemented.
We will always have this kind of issue or speculations but mainly they might be on hold on this cuz many want more FORKED coins to be created. Maybe this is my point of view but seem like many are still on hold for most of the thing involving not just bitcoin but other coins as well. Maybe this year wont be breaking point in matter of price but maybe in matter of accepting new solutions for crytpo in global.

BCH has been relatively steady between 13-20 percent of BTC. Time will tell if people begin to grow tired of BTC's tx costs - if so we could see BCH fly past its current pegged percentage

I suspect that it will grow with bitcoin, I don't think it will disappear if bitcoin has great success. For BTC to reach 50k the transaction issues need to be fully resolved to make it a viable payment option again. If this does happen then we can expect that bitcoin cash will lose some popularity. But I also suspect that given bitcoin reaching 50k will require a lot of new investment coming to the market, then a lot will also flow in to bitcoin cash, even if it is effectively an inferior option.

Wake up from this mad dream.  Bitcoin will not reach 50k.  It is struggling to stay above 7k.  Why are people in dreamland.

Why would anyone skip that part where transactions are faster
and cheaper? Problem is that people are not well informed about
new things. Who use SegWit addresses at the moment? While
transactions are expensive and slow, people did not know to use
this option.

Wake up from this mad dream.  Bitcoin will not reach 50k.  It is struggling to stay above 7k.  Why are people in dreamland.

Your username say`s more then your comment. Bitcoin is struggling
to stay around $7k, but that is today, tomorrow we can see Bitcoin
struggling to stay over $20k. People needs money, they are selling
Bitcoins for that, time will come when all the money will return to Bitcoins.

A lot of people are here concerned of what will become of bitcoin and you are referring to its relevance to BCH. The bitcoin price itself is not showing any sign of recovery rather its only giving be to start setting upper limit on the negative side. When bitcoin starts recovering, we can then start talking of what the effect will be on other coins. Until then, you just need to calm down and wait.

I don't really care about bitcoin cash but it surely going to ride the pump of bitcoin. I'm only caring about bitcoin hitting $50,000 so let's get it on.
Will it rise in tandem with the bitcoin price or will it reduce as money is transferred into BTC?
If bitcoin price increases, alts will follow too so bitcoin cash will replenish.

Be a realist. it cannot hit the mark of $50 thousand, as people will not buy BTC for this price. Bitcoin Cash might never exceed 2K. IMHO.

In the long term Bitcoin Cash could rise with Bitcoin, but in the first time Bitcoin Cash will dip when Bitcoin is going to release the full bull. But I think it could take some months before we are going to see 50k USD again at Bitcoin.

zero, because if btc hits that price it means that current problems are resolved and there is no need for old forks.

If bitcoin is 50k then bitcoin cash will be about 10k, it is unlikely it will cost more, I do not see the point in this.

In my opinion, bitcoin is an indicator for all crypto, when alt will rise or fall.
If btc $50k then bch $5k, 10% of the bitcoin price is a decent enough price for bch.

I think BCH is going to replace BTC, so the price will steadily increase while BTC goes down. No one likes spending high transaction fees & wait a few hours before their payment is through, right?

It will stay pegged to BTC price so I'd assume around same percentage as it is right now. Can't imagine it doing anything else besides some major annoucement making price go up.

I do not really know going to BCh but I know he coin the fork with bitcoin
and it seems it will affect the price of the coin itself. so if you believe bitcoin will rise why not in bitcoin instead.

it's just a dream It can not be like that. Even now the bitcoin price is 7000$. if you say. Bitcoin is priced at 50,000$, I think BCH will cost between  5 to 10k $

bitcoin cash will always be 10 times less.. but BTC cannot hit 50K ...
No assurance regarding that matter, possible bitcoin cash will leave into their current value since bitcoin cash value are no ability to surpass ethereum coin in the market. If the bitcoin cash surpass ethereum there were a possibility that they can follow the half of bitcoin in the market. But as you can see now bitcoin price are down continuously so there's a high chances that bitcoin cash are touches the half of bitcoin in the remaining days of February.

I like the way you are thinking but to be honest with the current struggling market 50000k mark looks quite a big task for BTC at the moment, we need some bullish momentum in the crypto markets to post such analysis.

It will be implemented what we do not know is when, but the devs are already making tests but it seems they do not have the manpower to make advancements as quickly as they would like, so it is going to take a lot of time, meanwhile bitcoin cash will take advantage of this and will keep growing in value, it seems to me that if the Lightning network takes too long there is a possibility that bitcoin cash retain its value and becomes another coin in the top 10 instead of just disappearing.

Little to optimistic for bitcoin to be 50k until summer but like this one, on cash and ether probably will go over 2000 maybe even more that is still dilemma what will it be. Bitcoin is unpredictable but my pick could be around 12k max.

My question lately is if there is any type of innovation in development in BCH to be expected anytime soon or their whole gameplan is perpetually doubling the block size every so often? If the latter then I think we all have our answer as to what price BCH will be in the coming months/years...

I agree with you, I think it would be very hard for bitcoin to break the $ 50000 price even though there is nothing impossible in the world of crypto. this is too far even to break the $ 20k price is already a tough thing.

And why bitcoin cannot hit 50k? If the demand is there it is going to happen, now if the OP said in this year I will admit that will be a difficult target to reach but no time restriction was given, and to me it seems 50k could be very possible in the next 5 to 10 years at the latests and there is a chance to reach that price a lot sooner under the right circumstances.

It's funny how during a dip or correction people say 50k isn't possible, when the market is pumping you see tons of 50-100k comments.
This time last year the same thing happened, big crash, under $1000 per coin, look where we were end of 2017, over 15x increase in value.

From where we are now we only need 5-6x returns to hit 50k, just because 50k per coin sounds like a huge amount of money it doesn't mean it won't happen, the supply of BTC isn't going to change much over the year but you can be sure the demand will.

Good news from SEC and the likes will bring in more people, a year ago if I mentioned bitcoin to people most would say "what's that?" now almost every one knows what it is.

It's the same basics, % growth based on demand, why would we seriously slow down to a point where we can't get 5x a year on BTC?

The current rate is 1/8. So if it's $ 50,000. The BCH needs to be between $ 6000- $ 7000 plainly.

bitcoin cash and bitcoin are both different because bitcoin cash is an altcoin and bitcoin is a main crypto , therefore that simply means their value won't correspond or related to each other. sometimes bitcoin cash pump unexpectedly even though bitcoin is in a dip phase and there were also times that bitcoin is on a pump phase but bitcoin cash is dumping. however many factors could also affect their growth , that is why you shouldnt always depend on the price of the bitcoin if you want to purchase a bitcoin cash.

I understand that this is Bitcoin cash. I believe that Bitcoin cash has nothing to do with bitcoin, and therefore its price is not tied to Bitcoin at all. At its core, each coin is independent of each other. Therefore, it is not worth looking for the question of dependence. Maybe I'm wrong, But all my research talks about independent pricing for Bitcoin and Bitcoin cashe.

there's no assurance that it will forever be steady with that percentage of the price and ranges cause remember last year where BCH pumps up to 2k USD where the former price ranges from 200 to 500 USD then the opposite happens with bitcoin it dumps almost to like a mountain cliff then some groups of individuals, as well as the mainstream, started to spread FUD's and false news that bitcoin cash is the real bitcoin and the current bitcoin is just a bubble, spam transactions attack to bitcoin where most of the fees are so low that makes the network overloaded which results to high fees and slow confirmations.

Bitcoin cash is another shitcoin.. keep it in your mind my mate, every new coin and every new fork that uses a name or a prefix of another coin or token is totally a shitcoin with no value. Peoples usually fomo about these fake projects, that gives the coin a value or even the free 1:1 distribution of forked coin is the main reason that gives a coin its value.
Bitcoin is and remains the mother of altcoins, the original and the greatest invention ever.

I think if bitcoin touches 50k $ I predict the price of bitcoin cash between 10k $ -15k $ because I think the growth in value still follows the bitcoin that is between 10 to 20% of the bitcoin price.
