Cryptocurrency-related advertisements have stopped appearing on Chinese search engine Baidu and social media platform Weibo, amidst reports of China’s government tightening cryptocurrency and Initial Coin Offering regulations on Sunday, Feb. 4.

The Financial Times of the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) was told today, Feb. 4, that China will further increase regulatory pressure on cryptocurrency exchange sites and Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs), Chinese news site Sina reported.

Seems cryptocurrency will not recover so much in a short time...

HOPE THAT IT IS JUST A RUMOR. Although I do not like the china, I have to admit that they are really good in the cryptocurrency and they know how to develop the blockchain, ICO and smart contract. This country born a lot of intelligent people and it will be a waste if they ban bitcoin all over the country. CHina is still one of the most powerful country on this planet

As early as September 2017, the Chinese government has banned ico and closed all exchanges in the country. Therefore, all ico and crypto-currency trading are illegal in China.
Therefore, I wonder why the Chinese government will once again ban it. This is illogical.

china news = boring news

sorry but china looks to be out

but then if you can get mainstream even if regulated in

US,EU,UK,JAP,CAN,AU,

i think bitcoin will be just fine without them and probably better due to stability. You don't want strange moves every 5 mins.

i think so too. I always think that some people want to push down the price of bitcoin to carry out a global price control. The recent negative news has been keeping people thinking that bitcoin will die, it will end, prices will fall, I think this is the way in which governments take over Bitcoin and become the biggest bookmakers.

Is China the only country in the world? If they like let them stop the internet we are never bogged. Why is the whole their attention focus on cryptocurrencies. They will only be losing out if they refused to embrace the Blockchain technology. It's high time we stop paying attention to what the media is saying about cryptocurrencies because they are only distracting us. All their so call regulations won't work, crypto has come to stay and there is nothing they do about it. Thanks

@sukey2008. What is the sentiment in the local Chinese subforum and the Chinese cryptocoin forums in general? Is is really hard for your citizens to trade fiat to bitcoin and back to fiat?

How are the Chinese exchanges? Are there some still in operation? What about Localbitcoins in your country?

No need to worry about it then. It's just the whales playing their game and the newbies and inexperienced traders and investors are panicking. Bitcoin and other altcoins will continue to struggle until the end of the Lunar New Year. That's a no big deal.

Just chill out guys. The only ones who are strong are those who are #HODLing on despite the crash. Even with mixed emotions, there's no need to worry about because we are diversifying our options by not relying on a few altcoins alone.

Can't believe the FUD sale is extended again. ;)

For sure ICO is quite dangerous and you can loose your money if you invest in. But that's not about the cryptocurrencies, that's completely different things, like Dollar and crowdfunding. Dollar is a currency but crowdfunding is collecting money.

If that's true then it's good because meaning of it that they acknowledge and authorize crypto as what is it now so that's a better news or if you think that can affect the price i'm sure that's not good to think so better to move forward always like accept everything here in crypto even they leave then continue your business in positive way like if they leave it can happen that the price go low then do invest and hold it then sell in high.We are here to earn so think where we can earn, negative thinking is nothing because it's already in volatile price so that's it.

With this news, it seems very likely that we will have to wait a little longer before the cryptos will be able to recover and gain what they have terribly lost in the last several days. This is the problem when the government of a big country with a huge population who are into cryptocurrencies will announce something official that will be disadvantageous. But the point here is that this will not cause the death of crypto. That is for sure.

Again? I think it is irrelevant now for the government of china to ban ICO related ads in their search engines or in their social media sites since they are putting a pressure in cryto exhanges in china which is the only way to exchange your coins into fiat or another cryptocurrencies. I don't think that news will affect bitcoin and altcoin markets since we all know cryptocurrencies are banned in china..

I think we don't have to take attention for their governments, we could still go far without them and I am sure that there are many countries that will give some benefits news to us and especially in the cryptocurrency world and not make people being worried about some bad news that is repeated over and over.

Every authorities, like Chinese have reasons to get cautious about cryptocurrencies. But what they should realize sooner is restrictions are not going to lessen it's use but would advertise it to more people. They should find a way to adjust alongside crypto.

Well it looks like we may be experiencing the FUD we saw back in September.  Now if we all recall...this caused the market to dip, which resulted in a great entry point for many.  This in turn caused a quick recovery and prices again rose back up and then surpassed previous prices.  In summary, do not panic, that's what they want you to do...this is the time to HODL and if you can....buy more!!!!!

I would not compare the news with Russia and the news from China. China at the moment is more influential in the crypto-currency market, although now many ICO projects are Russian. Nevertheless, I want to believe that in the near future the market will recover despite all the negative news.

They just tighten their hold by extending the BAN to some websites they can control. We all know that for all of the SIN committed on earth, money laundering is the MORTAL sin for every COUNTRY, number one in China, they want full control of their FIAT money, by extending its rage against ICOs and the likes, we can conclude that China just making it more difficult for every person in their state to commit money laundering.

Chinese community plays big role in the cryptocurrency world because they have bigger community and most of them are investors that is why countries like China that has strong implementation of rules in crypto affects the price of Bitcoin and any other crypto's. But still we all know that bouncing back will happen anytime soon since majority of countries are into supporting crypto's. I think not only China did that thing but also other countries too. Here in my country we have already regulated by the government and we have no problems so far. But in other countries the struggle is real. It is okay if ICO's are regulated for our safety but if they were stereo typing crypto's I think we are the most affected people on earth wherein plummet is real but what is interesting is that every downfall will be our opprtunity to buy some so there will be no loss because both sides has win/win situation unless we are doing it right. Social medias like facebook also has rumors of stopping ads for cryptos but still not a big deal for me. It will just give us chance to invest in a more cheaper way. ;D

Indeed, it seems that while they understand the price of bitcoin intentionally. This has its positive aspects: it means that bitcoin will soon grow in price. As for the news about the tightening of the rules in relation to the crypto currency from China, they themselves have little effect on the crypto currency, but in general, along with other similar news from South Korea and India, give a bad picture.

The estopping of the usage of cryptos have been a long time struggle. In the short time, It is a way to instigate panic selling.

On the other side,  if at all, I see the struggle being to achieve some level of sanitation in the crypto world to push out mediocre. These countries will come around in the long term.
It will work to protect investors , guiding against shit icos .

However, history has also shown that change is always resisted. Crypto is new and trying to gain grounds.

It looks like, this year might be the hardest challenge of crypto world.  Because it happens that,  more countries will have banning cryptocurrencies than of previous years.  Though the effect is just in slow motion but it really seen to be going dip badly.

They are not banning it, they are just increasing regulations. Which I think is not a huge problem, because unless regulated, scammy ICOs run amok, as we have all seen. Asking ICOs to comply with some ground rules is not a problem in my opinion.

In my own opinion, a lot of news about government restricting cryptocurrency is affecting cryptocurrency price. I am new here and as far as I can remember, China restricts crypto currency every year and goes back to crypto again when prices starts falling. I guess this is one of their ways of manipulating market price.

apparently china always can be have affect for price movements and after they were published bad news and suddently major cryptocurrencies has dropped and although most people say no need to panic but they should be worried because to recover back to $19k again for bitcoin it will took more time to do so

From last year august onwards they are doing this idiot move buddy. They have the many companies and people supporting the crpytos including bitcoin bro. For example: Viabtc, Bitmain, BTCC and etc. We will know that if they completely wash out the crypto investment what will happen in the market.

I stongly believe that bitcoin value will be touch the 25k as everyone expected end of this year.

Theres nothing new with this china ban, this is how the bigplayers manipulating the whole market of cryptocurrency, financial institutions and whales are going to spread FUDs and after people got panic selling they will buy a lot of solid coins after that they will release some positive news from the paid websites or even there in bitcointalk, then they will sell it on the peak, repeat until they got most of the bitcoin's supply.

What if market will forget about the existence of China and its people? Do you have anything to worry about? Definitely none. In the current situation of bitcoin today as volatility has greatly affected the market demands, I'm not surprise that China as well as other countries find cryptos not good for regalization and market adaptability. Since cyrptos don't have a stable market price it will continue to become an investment asset rather than a currency and more country will decide to banned exchanges rather than supporting it.

We cannot stop them, if the Chinese government does not want their citizens and themselves to be part of one of the technologies that is going to change the world for the better then that is fine for me, that means on average the rest of the people not living in china will benefit even more from cryptocurrencies, so that is fine with me since it means more money in my pocket in the next years and decades.

The news is not clear to me. They will take steps to regulate the market? Or they will make new rules on trading? Blockchain is anonymous. So they cant regulate an anonymous thing. They can introduce some rules to prevent fraud, so bullshit ICO can't steal our money. China is one of the strongest country in world economy. They really did nice job on blockchain and crypto. May be they are scared of BTC like other government. Cause blockchain is going to be the main stream economy and way of transaction

With the FUD driving down the prices, and the regulations that seem to be mounting, I wonder if this could be the year of the "Privacy" coin. For example DeepOnion is a privacy coin utilizing the TOR network. It is anonymous and 100% untraceable. It seems like coins like this one will have a huge impact on the crypto market.

I agree with you, but I will add something. Chinese government can block TOR network, if you want to use it, you need some obfuscation protocol,  like OBFS4. This protocol has been recently implemented in DeepOnion and has been successfully tested by Chinese people in China. It works fine and passes thought the Chinese firewall, you can check it here:

The fact that the Chinese government once again decided to toughen the circulation of the crypto currency in its country, can not seriously affect the state of the whole country. However, in recent years, something has become too much negative information from governments of different countries. Maybe there really is some conspiracy against bitcoins or even crypto-currencies in general? I will not be surprised at this now. So all synchronously it turns out, that hardly it can be casual. In addition, for some reason, the bitcoin development team has not eliminated its shortcomings for too long, and some have already suggested that this inactivity is also intentional. However sooner or later, bitcoin should again recover and grow in price.

Welll all depends on what you read and your own decisions. I saw pictures of crypto ATM's being made and moved around China yesterday. Think about NEO - for sure the government is encouraging it and before too long we will see NEO become like WeChat pay and AliPay. Mark my words people. Additionally DeepOnion has the latest TOR protocol, Meek integration and OBFS4 tech so can be used by people everywhere - think of horrible places in the world and yes now you can use privacy coins there. Spectre says its good, but it lacks in so many ways. Please dont believe all the FUD and BS out there. Think with your head and find good projects

Yeah,  more so than this odd seemingly global resistance to crypto -    I get so tired of people freaking out and dumping at any sign of slightly negative news.   I decided last week to just stop looking at more porfolio and come back in a month or two.    It's tough to do, but so far so good.   If I was smarter I'd throw so extra money into this sale.

I'm honestly surprised privacy coins in general have dumped so much.   You'd think with this type of news,  people would rush to throw their money into that space.

In my opinion this is the best thing the Chinese government could have done for
push NEO, GAS and privacy coins.
That's why today I took the big decision of buy more provacy coins:
DeepOnion and ZenCash.
Their privacy concepts, in my opinion, are the top of the markets.
Deep Onion uses the TOR network with also the OBFS4 protocol.
Zencash instead uses secure nodes and DAO.
What do you think about these 2 coins guys?

I've been recommending privacy based coins for months as it became clear governments weren't going to tolerate crypto when BTC hit $20k.  I believe this put many big institutions (banks, agencies, and governments) into a panic and at least some of the FUD we have today is because of it.  This recent news from China shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone and in fact I'm surprised it took this long.

I also believe that coins like DeepOnion that leverage TOR and the new obfuscation tech will be where people will store value.  It's already been proven that governments can track bitcoin transactions down to the citizen so privacy based coins will grow like crazy.  Once we really figure out decentralized exchanges and connect that to TOR then there'll be no stopping crypto from fire-walled citizens.

a pretty bad news, but the impact is quite pronounced for the market price, the decline is pretty much going on lately, but I still think positive where things like this ever happened but bitcoin can easily deal with everything and recover even more up, this is only my estimate may be very silly, they may just want to play the value of the market, so the price continues to decline so they can buy it at a Cheap price and reverse the situation as in the past year, how things improved after bitcoin suffered a pretty grumpy decrease

After reading your topic. I think this is the negative information that will affect the rates of the entire cryptocurrencies market. It has also been reported that the Indian government banned all cryptos in their country but the truth is not so. So it is complicated for China to entirely ban cryptocurrencies because the state now owns the world's largest cryptos trading platform - Binance.

I agree with you. As a major financial force, there is no way that they won't buy their ticket for this ride. Their efforts have a good purpose, but they are aiming in a wrong direction. Cryptocurrencies are the future ally, not an enemy. Meanwhile, in my opinion, privacy coins are a good solution. We can not ignore the governments, but we can find a way to use our rights and keep our crypto- story alive. Verge, XSPEC, and DeepOnion are TOR integrated, and obsf4 that last two have implemented make using cryptocurrencies possible even in countries that "don't like" TOR and that are trying to suppress crypto in overall. Also, investing is altcoins, in general, is a smart move. Cryptocurrencies can't and will not be ignored.

While governments like China (and others) try to ban or impose restrictions on crypto, in the long-term, there are just too many practical applications being brought to market on blockchain for those countries to keep it banned.  ICO's such as FarmaTrust, Shipchain, Cube Intelligence and Restart Energy provide real-world industry applications for crypto.

In addition, ICOs like GBX will help to legitimise the way new ICOs come to market, thereby reducing the likelihood of scam ICOs - this will improve investor confidence, and if extrapolated out on a timeline, should lead to renewed acceptance by countries such as China who are currently taking a negative/wary stance on crypto.

This is better than totally banning digital currencies. Restricting the ICO and all investing sites is the right thing to do to ensure that the ICO is not a scam in which it will put their citizens money at risk. This is what of South Korea is doing too right now as they have just dicovered a huge amount was loss during their Iocal exchanges are not yet restricted before but again this is better than totally banning all digital currencies.

There are reports that China have plans to make its own cryptocurrency and they want to control the whole chinese crypto markets and that maybe the reason why they banning all cryptocurrencie, ICOs, and exchangers. And after Facebook banned any crypto related ads, China followed it by banning crypto ads in their own search engine and social media. These recent crypto bans in China might also a preludes to imposing a strict regulatory on cryptocurrencies and exchangers in the future.

As early as September 2017, the Chinese government has banned ico and closed all exchanges in the country. Therefore, all ico and crypto-currency trading are illegal in China.
Therefore, I wonder why the Chinese government will once again ban it. This is illogical.
I know right!it doesn't make sense at all seems like some poor journalism is actually what is pushing the market down and not regulations like they want to make it look.In any case, hodl is the word, weak hands will panic sell and will be surprised how the market will bounce back strong.

It's kinda expected for Crypto to be restricted in countries nowadays. Either because they can't regulate it, or they're just afraid of it. A footstep close to North Korea actually, and banks are also giving some warnings about crypto.

This is one of the reason why cryptos are not on the great spot right now and by that the market is not on the stable form. I really don't know why China are regulating the cryptocurrency in their place, but I think they think that idea very well and I know that crypto will not recover in a short time but I know it will still recover though it may took a very long time, but for I know I will just hold whatever tokens I will have.

I don't think crypto is going to moving anytime soon. There is going to be more regulations. I heard the U.S. is planning to do some regulation. It suppose to be some meetings. I forgot where I read from. I look for it when I get home.

This is better than total ban og digital currencies.

Now that you look at it. This is the better approach. It lower downs the scammer. You got people like bitconnect who made billions of people life savings. We need to get rid of corrupted people like them. If the regulations goes well then we can start having some legit ICO and real projects that people will definitely invest in.

why is China so influential on BTC market?
every statement always raises a commotion in the world of crypto
China, as the largest miner, government news will affect miners' decisions. When the country begins to ban it, they will start to be nervous and will sell their coins, thus affecting the market.

That's what I thought at the beginning too, it's an effort from China financial institutions to regulate the system, but there is more than that if I've quit understood.
https://www.coindesk.com/report-china-cutting-access-to-overseas-crypto-trading-websites/
It's not only about ICO, they are also trying to cut the possibility for chinese people to use exchanges overseas, they are trying to avoid capital escapes.
IMO this is just a good buy opporunity :D, it's like September once China made a first tightening on ICOs, furthermore there are new technology that allows to avoid this regulation, like OBSF4 and MEEK which are already implemented in privacy coins such as DeepOnion.
At the end of the day they will just slow the process, they can't stop it IMO.

It's not even about miners selling mined coins/tokens. People are naturally scared and a bad news about cryptocurrency shakes them so much and they panic leading to a huge sell off. Don't forget that majority of the people in the space are noobs who were only told about the potential profits you can make. They don't know It might goes sideways too.

I don't think the chinese government can stop their citizens even if they tried. TOR network might be blocked but as a few people ahve mentioned this can be circumvented with OBFS4 (or Meek) integration which "hides" (more complex than that) the nature of the internet traffic so that it can't be detected as TOR traffic. With access to TOR there are exchanges such as "Bisq network" which can be used for trading cryptocurrencies. There are cryptos which are already supporting OBFS4: DeepOnion and SpectreCoin. I know for a fact that DeepOnion has already managed to sync their wallets in China using the new Meek integrated wallet.

Then there will be other options like IntenseCoin for a decentralized VPN which might also "help" blocked regions to access whatever they want on the net. There will always be ways to keep the internet free, the innovation can't be stopped.

Do NOT panic Chinese people!
You already have a solution with SpectreCoin and DeepOnion : these crypto can guarantee your transition privacy behind the Tor protocol because they can support the OBFS4 integration.

Anyway your governments can no longer control you since you are taking care of what you're doing on the web. Always put your privacy in the first field..

Be free. Be safe

well, I agree here, quite a lot of newbies came into BTC. They bought it on very high price, like 15-17k usd, some even 19K I guess.
now, they short like 3x times, some even more. And those news from China or Korea or US that governments wants to ban BTC do not give positives, all this stuff just make things worse and the price tends to fall more creates more and more panic on the market.
So of course news that miners can mine some coins and sell them even through great filrewall is a good news, so I think DeepOnion was one of the first coin which integrated new versions of tor, OBFS4 and MEEK, I guess other privacy coins will update the wallets as well and that would be really good news for miners.

The news of China's ban coincided with another downward turn on the market, as currencies wiped out up to 20% of their value overnight. But it is unknown if the measures have a direct effect, or if the drop is related to other factors, such as inertia, or overselling, and a coming bear market.

You are right. Governments are beginning to take measures to limit the growth of cryptocurrencies. For example, China, India and a series of bans have caused the price fluctuations of cryptocurrencies. However, many are rumors that they have not completely banned bitcoin. We need to be calm and HODL.

To prevent financial risks, China will step up measures to remove any onshore or offshore platforms related to virtual currency trading or ICOs.Chinese buyers yet, with the exception of Binance, who offered to refund a part ICO backers from China in September.

The government is controlling everything, but its time for people to realize that we should not fear and sell, but buy more crypto and fight them!

There's nothing new about China and this latest anti-blockchain is they're stopping it for the next level.
At first they just don't want crypto-exchange and trades in their own country but after that day their citizens or chinese could still access crypto exchange and trades though their browsers and phones Apps that's why this time Chinese governments put an entire blocking to stop nearly all crypto activities in their country. That's the hard part of being a chinese crypto enthusiasts that they could no longer earn and trade Bitcoin and Altcoins this time unless they're willing to access it through VPN and other proxy services that will allow them to access any websites and other internet services in the world.

Well, I don't the Chinese government could stop their citizens into earning and trading cryptocurrencies after they're blocking all the foreign crypto-exchange site and other services because crypto and blockchain cannot be stopped by any governments or states or any organizations or individuals.
I still believe that there are more Chinese crypto whales and investors today and some of them were trying to seek foreign licenses to continue to serve the crypto trading and other crypto related services.

Hi

My opinion:

I am happy to buy all these cheap coins from the panic sellers. Thanks a lot for this. Many friends of mine loaded theyr depots.

And for those who change to USD and wait .... Had someone take a look at USD/EUR Pair ? Amazing - Not only the crypto world is in deficit ...

I just got 125 USD for 100 EUR at Pokerstars lol

My TIP Dont panic buy with FIAT  -- BUY -

And China and the regulation all over the world is for my Coins no problem. I hope that there will be a regulation soon so that the SCAM Coins and ICO Scammers get banned forever. Fake exchanges in china should be closed and all ICOs should be regulated like china says. My opinion.

Happy BUYING -

Chinese new year is coming soon. 2nd quarter and 3rd Quarter is mostly a major milestone in most of the companys. I dont thing that regulation can stop technology. That would be like you say I dont want to have a Color TV or a computer in the pasts.

Best greetz from austria !

We 't deny China contributes a lot of market cap to the cryptocurrencies scene, and by the government china banning, cryptocurrencies losses a significant amount of market cap and that reflect why Bitcoin keeps going downs. but even with or without China their users still can access the cryptocurrencies because the nature of it is decentralized, it's not mean to be controlled by the government.

They can continue doing what they are doing, I believe at a point, they will eventually get sidelined anyway and no one will care about whatever comes from the country. Crypto space is here to stay, and if they feel it is a threat to them, they can go hang themselves, but nothing is stopping the progress of decentralization.

The cost of the crypto currencies fell by 20 percent due to this bans. It seems to me that prohibitions will intensify in many countries and the cost of Bitcoin will fall and fall but on the other hand it's a good time to invest in the crypto at a low cost especially as it will obviously grow.

stock markets have correction .

Similarly the crypto market correction is only by external news from government. whenever there is government action on crypto the market reacts in panic mode.

It is one way of correction for the newbie's to get a chance in the crypto where they can get bargains on the their token they would like to pick

You are right. Governments are beginning to take measures to limit the growth of cryptocurrencies. For example, China, India and a series of bans have caused the price fluctuations of cryptocurrencies. However, many are rumors that they have not completely banned bitcoin. We need to be calm and HODL.

Seems like another FUD coupled with the numerous FUDs that have been popping up lately. Just recently, we've heard about the ban of Facebook promotions and it seems like China has followed suit to this. Either way, China has known to be not very bitcoin or crypto-friendly so it doesn't make much of a difference. China has already made numerous attempts in the past to have control over the growing number of crypto usage in their country and apparently continue to do so.

Yep,  also Saudi Arabia, Iran, and maybe France...
The solution is to use some kind of obfuscation like Obsf4, the latest and the most secure protocol...
This article explains well how it works, and why it's so important for Deeponion project.

The china seems to always contain the news content. China stops the ICO, China's regulate the bitcoins what else? China banned bitcoins? almost every day this is always the reason why the price of bitcoins is falling. Hopefully this will be over. So that the market has risen again.

They have already got the speculation on restricts. If they realy have wanted to limit cryptocurrency, then they completely would forbid it. So they just try to derail the market by possession of insider information. Everything easy and simply. Cryptocurrency markets resemble usual markets/forex more and more where earn only very big funds, owning and creating insider information

bitcoin prices fall as China bans Bitcoin and it is news that I do not like to see. all altcoin prices become unstable as Bitcoin prices continue to slide down to be $6.000. I've often seen the news why bitcoin prices are down because the first obstacle is China stop ICO, prohibit bitcoin. let's hope everything to back normal again and price altcoin in market up.

According to me don't take serious China restrictions over crypto currencies. Because when all crypto currency came back to there previous rates then it is compulsory to China that they reopen there crypto market. I think (just assuming) China wants his monopoly to control the rate of crypto currencies and also wants to know the reaction of world by ban on crypto currencies. I feel this is a strategy of China to take control over whole crypto market. So don't take serious this problem and wait for right time when all crypto currencies are on there high. This my personal thinking.

It is, banning crypto is just banning technology, while you can shutdown exchanges and try to regulate the trading of currencies you can't really ban the technology behind it. Even with all the resources China has they can't ban crypto's, that would mean the rest of the world has a technical advantage. More so the underlying technology will simply find a way. More and more crypto developers are starting to make sure their blockchain is completely anonymous. Projects like Verge, PIVX and DeepOnion all use anonymous networks like TOR and/or I2P.

The governments of many countries will try to impose taxes and restrictions for cryptocurrencies. But on a result all will look at each other. And if one country takes a step forward and recognizes cryptocurrencies, then later time and these countries will make it - the reason is simple, they wont want to lag behind in development.

Chinese gov restricts Crypto again and again. :)

Nearly every month we will see the news that chinese gov banned the Crypto. I don't know how could they do that once more every month. I my opinion they have already banned the Crypto , why they say that again?

After I did a little work on that, I find that the ban or restrict on crypto is not possible. Crypto is decentralized, no one can blocked it unless to power off the network. People always have some tools to connect it such as vpn.

Now crypto exchanges  maybe the weakness of the field, but when the decentralized exchange  as kyber or 0x launched, no one can banned anymore.

In the current, the news like that may let the market get panic. But when the news comes more and more, the influence of that will weaker and weaker.

At the end, no one will care of that. :D

Yes,  it seems like because of this news it affected all crypto. China is one of the contributor in this industry and one of the most powerful country thats why there's a drastic downfall. Just like what happened last year crypto will recover and honestly,  I hate the fact that because of this country all of us are struggling. Banning crypto in any other country would be their disadvantage in the future because they will be late in the innovation.

I am happy not living in China, but in same time I feel for them cause we are all part of the one ecosystem, indirectly it affect us.
Good thing is that privacy coins exist so people can completly anonymously still transact. I use many of them Like Zcash, Monero.. today I read on twitter that Deeponion released security upgraded wallet concerning chineese people directily using TOR EDGE 3.3.0 + OBFS4 + MEEK . I hope this will come very handy for them..
Even the crypto enthusiasts in China care less about the whole shit being done in their country.
You think if I am a Chinese, and I have a lot of crypto to cater for myself somewhere else where it is welcomed and accepted, I won’t just move away from China ?

Bitmain right now is having subs in countries that appreciate what is being done and see it as a welcome development and not a country that wants to frustrate the effort. At the end of it all, China will be silenced.

But may be it's just a 'BIG market manipulatng'?
no, the market price can't be manipulated. the price of crypto is influenced by supply and demand, so it is difficult to manipulate it. if the Chinese government restrict crypto, it means the Chinese government is the one who conspires. they might do that and make an issue about crypto that makes the crypto demand decrease. when the demand on crypto decreases, the price of automatic crypto will also decrease.

Some of this news are true, most of it is FUD. But even if China bans crypto entirely, and that is not very likely, there will always be some solution for people in China that want to deal with crypto. They will just need to turn to cryptocurrencies that enable them to use it regardless of restrictions.
I know that DeepOnion has integrated latest TOR protocol with OBFS4 and Meek that allows it to be used in China without issues. This was tested and reported as successful by number of users.
So it will be up to developers of cryptocurrencies to enable people in China to use them. It is only a question if there is enough knowledge and will to do it.

I really dont know why the Chinese Government are doing this things, I think they are being greedy on their jurisdiction, they really want to rule the world most especially in terms of money making that is why they are doing this things. Because of this kind of banning in China our industry is much affected that is why we are in the red zone right now, hopefully the values of the coins will soon rise up once again.
I really do not know why you guys keep stressing yourself over what the media is dropping every now and then, The main purpose is to generate FUDs, the market is already in a lot of it and the whales are still wishing they could have a better chance to drive it down the more so they can hold more positions. But afraid not, there is another coin that proved it's possible to get through the heaviest Chinese internet censorship, obfuscation protocol, OBFS4 used by DeepOnion.

This protocol along with the DeepOnion Meek Integrated Wallet allowed the syncing in China and tested by many chinese users.
DeepOnion OBFS4 + MEEK will allow Freedom for the Whole World!

Oh my God, I have also found this news that shocked me. Here is the link to read about it:

It is normal that governments protects itself from competency and stop people sending funds abroad. If crypto continue growing it is a matter of time for governments to improve what is wrong or lose the race.

i dont think for real China government would take out his nation over the cryptos and icos market, this would be a huge piece of world market that will have some problems in the future

The regulatory is good if applicable at all elements of blockchain community from the richest to the poor, so that is really fair in my vision and be very sustainable for a growing investment in the actual and future markets.

No one knows at the moment if china will be in the blacklist we only need to wait to good news, just stay tuned guys and letss see whats happen :)

Hello op, where did you get this news? Please give us a link about this news here.

Looks like the government of China is just scared to lose its control over their population. They have blocked already everything that they could (Facebook, Google, different messengers). Now Crypto is blocked. What is next?

Strict regulaters will  cause black market. They don't really ban cryptocurrencies. Artificially yes but in fact, Chinese trader still can use VPN. Do Chinese Stupid Govt will ban VPN too? I think they'd better ban internet at all.

The Asian market is huge for bitcoin since they are paying more for their BTC compared to the rest of the world. But regulations and bad news have caused people dumping their coins. Amidst all the bad news there is now something positive coming from the US market where they are not looking to bad crypto and I think that news has had a positive influence on the market since FEB 6th.

If it comes to the point where all trading of cryptocurrencies are banned all over the world the truth is that anonymity coins will not be of much help, since you will be able to keep yourself safe from being identified as an user of cryptocurrencies but no one else is going to trade with you, at that point the market of cryptocurrencies will be closed for any normal user.

China ban will create more demand for Privacy coins and not all privacy coins are able to enter the Chinese market. DeepOnion is a TOR integrated coin which uses  public key obfuscation protocol OBFS4 on top of TOR that will make it usable even in the countries that ban TOR. Check more details on OBFS4 here https://github.com/Yawning/obfs4/blob/master/doc/obfs4-spec.txt

I think they want to manage their people like Korea. I do not know what their purpose is when they have banned so many tech things. Or do they want to create everything from their country?
They know that their country is the most populous country in the world and they use that advantage. I think they are looking to turn any undeveloped technology into China into the world's leading technology. That's my opinion of China's purpose. what's your opinion?

John mcafee tweeted about this. I like his approach a lot, he says "You cannot stop crypto, only delay it". This is so true. Crypto will be delayed a little due to the fear from governments, but tech will always win. Right now chinese users can for instance use Meek to connect the deeponion wallet within china. And if the government finds a way to stop this, well then another tech solution will come up.

It's impossible to stop!

I understand that China is most likely going to be the biggest obstacle in the Crypto, and time and time again it has been proven to be so. The government there is notorious for keeping funds within the country and attempting to bring in as much foreign cash as possible. Crypto is a big hurdle for them and quite a risk which is only making hiding payments/transactions easier, especially with the likes of Privacy coins gaining traction.
This technology is only getting stronger and more complicated, and history has shown that if people want it, they will get it one way or another (see Torrents, warez, movies).

At this stage I think the best thing you can do is begin migrating or adopting a good Privacy coin and learning how to perform truly anonymous transactions, there are the likes of the TOR network which makes it practically impossible to trace which location the transactions came from and almost impossible to block the use of them. You only need to refer to my signature to see what I am currently using.

Yeah even the private companies are working in cohorts with the Govs and Banks to spread more FUD. Back to the OP, China will just make blockchain developers create more sophisticated privacy coins to go around with them just like DeepOnion.

I'm sure that there are no desperate situations at all. And even the Chinese government is doing all these restrictions have a very huge overtones. In the history of China's economy, there have never been windows where anyone could earn money other than the state. Therefore, I think that the Chinese government wants to clean up its crypto currency and mining. AEG about the company should also be under control. That is their strategy and policy.

Exactly. They try but people will always find ways to bypass those laws and legislations  :)
Projects like DeepOnion and CloakCoin are currently integrating TOR, MEEK and OBFS4 protocols to hinder that, and test has proven successful.
Government can FUD and regulate all they want, but the people will always win.

The government could not stop the crypto as many privacy coins are easy to use all around the world. As I know all Chinese Deeponion users have been started to use the newest Deeponion wallet in China.(TOR EDGE 3.3.0 + OBFS4 + MEEK) The real decentralised cryptocurrency is still popular in China.

Over the world, even politicians will be having investments in the cryptocurrencies; so, they will not let them banned.  Only thing what they could do is putting some regulations mainly to save their banks and so their governments because if banks fail, they will too and will lose the power.  Therefore, they will try to balance it out with something so that they can save banks and that mainly only involve taxing what we have, nothing else. Here in countries like China where regime puts firewall, people will have the option of using privacy coin like DeepOnion which uses obfuscation OBFS4 and also MEEK (alongwith latest Tor protocol) has already been tested by Chinese and found to be usable by them.

There are certain forces, groups of people who want to spread false rumors about crypto-currency to cause panic among the population and to lower the price of bitcoins and other crypto-currencies. Only today there was information that someone from the Central Bank of China sent a false notice that some major banks are joining together in order to further restrict the circulation of crypto currency in this country. It is interesting simply that this is such a great dislike of the crypto currency, or the desire to temporarily lower the rate of bitcoin in order to have a good profit on it?

The Chinese government may try to stop Cryptocurrencies but certain coins using the new TOR OBFS4 updates will still get around this,

For example DeepOnion running with the new OBFS4 Tor upgrade can bypass the Firewalls, there are screenshots on the forums of this happening.

If the clamp down continues, I can only see Privacy coins becoming more predominant in the marketplace.

There is not a point in thinking about a conspiracy, just look at bitcoin and what represents and it is easy to see why bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will be seen with bad eyes by governments, bitcoin is a currency they cannot control in any way, they can control the users but not the protocol, they cannot destroy it and it weakens them so it is obvious why they hate bitcoin.

China is not a free world to start with and if the world is left to China, they would make sure nobody breath without government approving it! It would be like having licence to breath. I would only be worried if a country like United State or United Kingdom ban cryptocurrency outrightly!
It is a threat to them, they know they can hardly fight it and they know what that means to fiat. So, the best way to do that is to attack it. Unfortunately, it is too late for them. We already have a lot of stronger hands now than before, so even if they try all their bullshit, at the end of the day, the cryptocurrency world will just keep getting stronger and stronger. So, I would really just take any news from the government or China as a pinch of salt.

china news = boring news

sorry but china looks to be out

but then if you can get mainstream even if regulated in

US,EU,UK,JAP,CAN,AU,

i think bitcoin will be just fine without them and probably better due to stability. You don't want strange moves every 5 mins.
yups, the chinese maybe a big contributor to this community and their presence is highly appreciated but if they will continue to make actions like this,i should say they can just leave cryp forever,we can survive without them, coz its happening since 2017 whe they first banned crypto..the market will grow sooner so theres nothing to be affected
Which unfortunately, they will never have. Those who have been gullible enough to sell it to them at a lower price will have themselves to be blaming now. So far, those who are smart enough are seeing it as an opportunity to just keep loading up more as it keeps getting lower.

Decentralization is here to stay and no matter what the government is thinking, it cannot work and they know that already.

We've heard it so many times.. Now facebook is announcing to do the same with advertising. Yeah, maybe scams (and that is good thing) but with solid projects there are no hiccups. It is not over, it's only a start, yeah China may block TOR for example, but there are anonymous currency projects like DeepOnion that act fast and implement protocols to help users from China using crypto still with success and another layer of anonymity. Recent implementation of OBSF4 and MEEK in DeepOnion is clearly a sign that is not over. It is starting. By the way, look at BTC now, does that not look like consolidation and recovery? :) Crypto is not dead. It's time for FUD to die once and for all.

This FUD is bullshit, they are not even trying to ban crypto and it's not clear what the Chinese government is planning exactly, in fact they rather support crypto as long as they can control it, it's just medias and markets being hysterical as usual. But it's good DeepOnion offers a user-friendly solution for Chinese citizens to bypass government control allowing  them to protect their privacy and individual freedom, I think it might be safer for Chinese people to use this kind of technology actually.

maybe people out there need to learn more about bitcoin and need to know that they don't have to panic and it is better if they learn about manage their feeling too so if somehow there are a bad things that happen for example, the price is down like yesterday, they can calm down and just wait for the price increase back. I think they need to know that not every news will give a good news but some of them will try to make people to gets panic and finally they will sell their bitcoin because of the price is down.

The Chinese government has lost its influence on most of the altcoin and has recently introduced the relevant restrictions, so the rise and fall of the digital currency is not limited by China.
They are losing influence but as long as most of the miners are still in china and a great deal of bitcoin user are also in china then the government will keep some sort of influence over the market, but thanks to their foolish actions that influence is going down and at some point it would be so small as to not being able to affect the markets anymore.

China...China...Chinese gov, restrictions...always the same. But TODAY we have privacy coins and we should protect our online identity at all cost and that's why I'm very interested in anonymous cryptocurrency lately. It is impossible to kill an anonymous cryptocurrency by the government, especially a full privacy one like DeepOnion or Spectre. Both are TOR based with obfuscation protocol (OBFS4) and DeepOnion comes with MEEK and can be used in markets like China or Iran. If any government declares to kill a privacy coin , it will only increase its price. And there will always be a way to trade them.

I don't really think China will completely ban crypto and shut down source of profit for many of their citizens and companies as well.
If they continue to go hard on crypto, there is a good solution in a form of Deep Onion cryptocurrency – everything going through TOR network, with MEEK and OBFS4 protocols in place, making them perfectly safe to use in China and other countries blocking TOR protocol or crypto in general.

Though the coin may be portrayed anonymous but the DECENTRALIZED factor is more spoken of. All the countries that have preached a ban on the cion even benefit more. To me, it is all deceit and distraction.

If the Chinese government introduces full restrictions on the use of crypto currencies in the country, it will make poor Chinese citizens only. Unlikely that it is possible. Most likely the government wants to strengthen control in this sphere only.

Are we not even supposed to be tired and used to the kind of news that comes from China already?
Yes I know that we don't have to stress or to be bothered by these kinds of news but we have to be updated so that not only us but also the people who are reading our posts will be more updated and knowledgeable of what is happening in the industry right now, and also what and how will they adjust for us to be more stable in this kind of condition in the market, but you are also true, we need not to stress ourselves in matters like this but I think it is worth the argument.

Hopefully that will come true the market had experienced so many bad times in the recent months hopefully there will be a twist of events when the month of March approaches. If we are to conclude the last year's statistics, therefore the month of march will be more stable compared to the past few months, hopefully.

Whatever happens or might happen in China or other countries, there are cryptocurrencies who will not have a problem attracting investors either way. Privacy coins are a whole category that can take care of hiding your real identity while you make your transactions anonymously. And while some might be thinking Monero, I say look at DeepOnion. Not only does it utilize the Tor network but also the developers have integrated the OBFS4 protocol and Meek. Also, the developers are planning on implementing stealth addresses soon. That is more than enough for any person in any country to make anonymous transactions safely without worrying that their government might know about it.

China's  underground loan problem is very messy and has yet to be resolved completely, so its natural for the government to be weary of crypto ICO and trading of crypto currencies ,as the combination of both can easily develops and balloons into another financial headache. The Chinese government need time solve their present loan problems to ensure their growth and economic development are intact. China is always very forward looking in many ways, giving more time I sure it will embrace CRYPTO again.

Good news for the Chinese people!! DeepOnion is here to provide a great tool to send and receive hidden transactions using the TOR network so Government cannot control your money anymore! This DeepOnion project added recently these layers of security and anonymity  (TOR, OBFS4, and MEEK) new releases coming soon among them Android and Mac wallets! Total privacy via DeepSend!

Bad news for the Chinese people!! TOR barely works in China.

Maybe do some basic research before you shill your bags.

It's a good thing that DeepOnion is not on ICOs. It is distributed through airdrops. And what the DeepOnion technology to offer against increased pressure by governments are its special features integrated with it. These features integrated are the latest TOR v3.3.0, OBFS4, and MEEK. Another plus factor coming soon are the Stealth Addresses. These features are very useful to people in TOR-banned countries such as China and Turkey. This makes DeepOnion the best alternative.

I feel sorry for Chinese investors, They were really very dominate in crypto market after Korea. But we all can see how it affects the price of coins, and it's all bleeding red last 6 to 8 weeks. But there is always hope, and if Chinese people again able to buy crypto, it will be huge boosts.

I do not understand why the Chinese government prohibits cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin. If it is forbidding ICO advertising, I can understand that because many ICOs are deceptive, rigorous regulation of cryptocurrency transactions is equivalent to restricting the development of cryptocurrencies. I feel very sorry.

What you say is true, actually the regulation pressure has been done by chinese government since 30 september and until now nothing has changed a little bit.

Seems cryptocurrency will not recover so much in a short time...

True, last year if there was something going on with the chinese market its impact would be felt in the crypto market globally but now whatever happens with the chinese state in the slightest doesn't impact on bitcoin.

That's the main reason why is important to have privacy coins. DeepOnion, in this case, integrated with OBFS4 and MEEK, also  with the latest TOR update is the perfect alternative for China crypto users. It's anonymous and with untraceable payments. With DeepOnion there is no need to worry about the government tracking your crypto trading. Anonymity and privacy are the most importang thing in crypto world, and just because of that 2018. year will be year of the privacy coins.

Some strange ways to strengthen control. More like the fact that they do want to ban everything related to cryptocurrency.

I've been don't understand why the bad news is always related to China, at present the main market transactions in the United States and Japan and South Korea, so most of the time, China's current investors does not change the market trend
