Why you have a doubt in that. Bitcoin is the best asset as compared to gold, silver, diamond than platinum. You won't get this huge profit as you get in bitcoin. If you had invested in bitcoin, you will get double or triple of invested money. Now the price of bitcoin is reducing ,don't sell it know.If you hold means, you will be rewarded for that.

I think this is the result of panic in the entire cryptocurrency market.
All countries are ready to do more regulation of the cryptocurrency market, while facebook has banned the advertising of ICO, and the recent bad news has been too much, and everyone has lost confidence.

This is due to South Korea, Facebook banning all ads that promote cryptocurrencies, India govt news about bitcoin etc. Also Panic sell and whales play may takes place. At the moment no panic sell. Hold your BTC,,, HOLD HOLD HOLD HOLD HOLD HOLD. buying time.....  IT WILL BOOM SOON.

You as a full member of the most active bitcoin forum is supposed to behave two ways:
1. Know what is causing the dips and have more to say than "Any idea what caused it?"
2. Be least worried about it as you should be comfortable with the ups and downs by now because you believe in the technology and philosophy behind Bitcoin.

If you still have to ask such a newbie question then you are part of the reason that Bitcoin is going down. People who had no idea and no interest of the underlying principles have invested in it thinking they'll become billionaires like the winklevoss twins (http://fortune.com/2017/12/04/winklevoss-twins-bitcoin-billionaires/). This has made it susceptible to the stupidities of teeming millions who believe and form their viewpoints from 21st century media.

I believe that this is pure market manipulation at this stage. There are some major speculators with lots of money that entered the market lately and these guys have bought enough bitcoins to manipulate the market. They are slowly dumping these coins and artificially forcing the price to go down. ^grrrrrrr^

The South Korean government already announced that they are only going to regulate Bitcoin more, and they are not planning to ban it and the same goes for India. This tells me that there are other things pushing the price down and the only thing that can do that, is the institutional capital that has entered Bitcoin. ^hmmmmm^

Due to the negative news from couple of country regarding the ban on crypto currency have really hurt the bitcoin prices badly as people across world have sold in a panic situation. Though the news that India has ban the coin was media misinterpreted news that caused more the damage to the fall.

Market Downturn? Consolidation? Market consolidation before a crazy boom up to 50k?

Different people are going to say different things about the market of Crypto, who knows what's going to go on. Though the only thing that I personally think is that some fake news scared some people in Crypto and led to a good amount of people selling off, that's my take on it though, we'll find out in a week or so whats really going on.

Many people say it's because of the Asian market!

India's markets are in trouble, and the ministry of finance said in a statement that the encrypted digital currency was not a legal tender and was not subject to regulatory approval in India and could not be protected.

India also accounts for a large part of the BTC deal!

Bitcoin price is going down because of the production and also demands for bitcoin is going down also. The other altcoins price goes up because it steals the investors of the bitcoin. We should promote the bitcoin again to make its price goes up again. This will help the bitcoin and we also benefits from the bitcoins price and earn an income through it.

bitcoin fall always at the start of the year and always jump to its highest every november to december
sometime its always drop before christmas maybe because almost everyone sell some bitcoin for cash
after the drop in the start of the year it always climb slowly then jump high then drop but you can see that the price of bitcoin dont drop in the lowest price last year and it always break the highest price in the last year so we can say that in bitcoin you will always gain profit if you will just hold it and sell next year

i have a new idea which came to me just now!

maybe it is the altcoin bubble bursting that is also making it worse for bitcoin. you see all the altcoins were pumped and were in huge bubbles which have been bursting for the past week. and many of them have no way of going directly back to fiat so the way to choose is bitcoin.

people dump their shitcoins for bitcoin then sell bitcoin for fiat >>> bitcoin drops is intensified.

A relatively big part of Bitcoin's dip in price would be the recent negative news about it being not accepted in certain countries and platforms. This includes the recent news on Facebook, China, and South Korea among others which have contributed to its price decrease. Although given this output, the strategic thing to do is to hold on to your bitcoins instead of cutting costs and selling them due to panic. After this dip, Bitcoin will slowly rise again through 2018 which would give it a better price for investment ratio.

Some people thinks that Bitcoin reached ATH and there is no way to go back there again. Some of them are panic seller's which are left industry with a lot of loss and regrets to buy Bitcoin. Speculations are behind them all and started domino effect. People who believe to Hodl and continues to collect on dips will be get some gains.

I think a large part of this is because many Asian countries together publish the relevant policies on the prohibition of bitcoin trading, which gives investors a big blow.

Title: Re: What caused Bitcoin goes down very hard recently?

I think the main cause of the very hard going down of the bitcoin is the panic selling of the bitcoin, It is due to the non.stable people becasue when the see a little fall in the value of the bitcoin the use the bitcoin and as result the value fall a little more mean while other people think that bitcoin value is going down and start panic selling of the bitcoin , when panic selling starts the value of the bitcoin hard down.

Yes may be a lot of people who sell BTC, so the price of BTC will be down whether it will be how much? Probably will be back again to 50 million in IDR again, everyone already knows BTC is likely to rise again as late as last year which touched 300 million in IDR, but all that happened many factors, factor of game market also can, game holders BTC at most, or the people who have a lot of money, can monopolize the BTC market, can play the price of BTC as they please, yes happy that many BTC can follow ERA BTC

You know.. that's because.. there were a lots of false news about Bitcoins being banned and other bad news too but infact it was just an exaggeration of some small news in which many Asian countries were gonna regulate Bitcoins and none banned them till now.
The Korean Market was shut down and India was also giving negative comments about Bitcoins thus ... Everyone thought it's the right time to give up hope

Things are on track though but it will take some time.

that was mostly FUD and only partly true.
some Asian countries like China banned ICOs which have nothing to do with bitcoin and bitcoin trading. and most of them regulated exchanges with some restrictions on them to prevent illegal activities such as money laundering. again it had nothing to do with bitcoin trading or bitcoin itself.

but the media loves bullshit like this, and they exaggerate it. and most people don't  care enough to check the source of the news they just read on a trollbox that "china banned bitcoin" and start panicking.

Bitcoin and all cryptos haven't been quite the same since we've been blessed by the arrival of the CBOE and CME. In fact, the crypto space is beginning to resemble the PM COMEX controlled stagnation of the past 3+ years. Of course it's coincidence.

There are two most prominent underlying causes for the huge decline in value of the most powerful cryptocurrency early this 2018. One is the prohibition and illegalization of bitcoin and all bitcoin-affiliated activities in China, Korea, and Vietnam, some countries that became a huge contributor to bitcoin's growth. And another, the practice of panic selling by a huge majority of unwise investors that thought bitcoin would get down just because of the small decrease in value of bitcoin.

It's getting harder to understand the reasons of the actual decrease in the market when it continue dumping in prices and marketcaps and circulating supplies. Analytics try to evaluate the position of the crypto market with the old traditional explanation that no way traders are getting fear from many causes. In my opinion i can mention some logical reasons as a crypto enthousiasts and an active follower:
- What professionals call it "correction" and this was expected due to the great growth in the last three months when bitcoin reaches to 20000$ limits.
- Last rumors about Korea and India that preparing to ban bitcoin utilisation due to its big volatility but the two government denied the rumors.
- Last successful hacking attack to the second great platform in Korea and the lost of more than 200 m$. Note that 1/3 of the youth population are inveting in cryptocurrencies.
- One last thing about Tether and Bitfinex that the USA government verify the equivalence of dollars besides Tether after observing the creation of more than 50 m$ in less than a week.

There must be more reasons but may be we can't see it now till it passes.

But we re in a digital technology and anything can happen and and everything is possible. There could be more reasons behind it and it can be known to us. Actually, I don't really know what exactly started the dump on its market value but chances are high that it has something to do with the demand in the market. But surely, this is jist normal and is only temporary. Its price will eventually increase so for now, investing to it and holding will be more necessary. Just believe and continue holding.

There are a lot of dumpers who are holding bitcoins that resulted for bitcoin to have less value  . Just like what happened in one country wherein most of the holders of bitcoin sell their tokens because of the fraud news that they've heard spreading all over social media. Bitcoin users must hold patience and trust also in order to achieve what they perceive on their future. We have to double check, validate and do our researches especially when there are news that come up pertaining to bitcoin.

Title: Re: What caused Bitcoin goes down very hard recently?

Bitcoin price increases for all the possibilities mentioned. Suddenly, if any fraud or fraud is detected, its price decreases. Again, if any country is declared illegal, or if a country is in favor of this currency, the prices will get reduced or increased momentarily. The price is very much a psychological phenomenon of people. Then there are other sign currency positions. If news, Etherium or Ripple will be future coin, then Bitcoin will be reduced. Bitcoin prices rise due to these reasons. In this case, the profiteer big crocodile investor can invest a lot of time by increasing the price of Bitcoin, and suddenly it can bring down all the money.

Bitcoin’s price goes up. People are tempted into buying Bitcoins for FOMO and because everyone else is going long too.Bitfinex sells you Bitcoin and other crypto for real money, charging you fees for transactions.cryptocurrency created out of thin air by Tether and then transferred to exchanges like Bitfinex where it’s used to go long on Bitcoin.so greatly amplifying the effect.

Currently the market of the cryptocurrency facing big dump , but we should not forget that the people who are withdrawing Thier money from bitcoin are putting back in the another coin like etherium , dash which are a big part of the cryptocurrency work economy .
Here we need just to see the factors that usually happen in the cryptocurrency market i.e when price of bitcoin will up then altcoins get down and vice versa .
Here the down in the Bitcoin's price is only due to that reason of the negative news that we coming day by day , but still many positive factors are running in this field , so wait for few weeks until we came across the big pump ( i.e increase in demand rapidly after numbers of positive news ) .

There is a very important milestone in the US tomorrow. Tuesday 2-6 Congressional Meeting on Cryptocurrencies.

The Senate Banking Committee will take testimony from Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chairman Christopher Giancarlo and Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Jay Clayton.

https://qz.com/1200204/bitcoin-regulation-cftc-and-sec-weigh-in-on-crypto-oversight-at-us-senate-hearing/ (https://qz.com/1200204/bitcoin-regulation-cftc-and-sec-weigh-in-on-crypto-oversight-at-us-senate-hearing/)

It seems that, in short, from the US, at least, (we can address Asia after);

- The SEC is going after ICOs = Clayton (head of SEC) says every ICO he has seen has been a securities offering. The problem is, none of them has registered as offerings with the SEC. “ICOs that are securities offerings, we should regulate them like we regulate securities offerings, end of story,” he said.
- The SEC is going after lawyers and accountants who enable illegal ICOs = “A note for professionals in these markets: Those who engage in semantic gymnastics and elaborate structuring exercises…are squarely in the cross-hairs of our enforcement division,” Clayton said.
- But some ICOs, like those conducted with a “SAFT” agreement, are probably safe = "This includes some of the biggest offerings of last year, like Filecoin, with marquee investors like Union Square Ventures. “I don’t think it necessarily follows that the SAFT is within the SEC’s sights,” said Preston Byrne, a structured-finance lawyer and a fellow at the Adam Smith Institute. Byrne has been a major critic of ICOs."
- The SEC draws a distinction between “pure cryptocurrencies” and ICOs = It’s not entirely clear what that distinction might be. But Clayton said ICOs should be regulated like securities offerings, without mentioning the regulatory status of “pure cryptocurrencies.”
- US Congress could give the SEC or CFTC more powers to oversee cryptocurrency exchanges = “I think we may need [additional legislative authority], I think we may need it,” Clayton said.
-The FBI is assisting = The FBI has recently seconded agents to the CFTC to analyze transactions in the bitcoin futures and spot markets to detect signs of terrorist financing and evasion of sanctions by countries like North Korea, Giancarlo said. The oversight might explain the recent bitcoin price crash. Said Giancarlo, “Word is getting out that we will go after misconduct, I think you’re seeing it in the price, and it’s an important step.”

^^ this/these statements hint at more regulation in the USA, giving cryptocurrency, or whatever it gets deemed in the future, much more viability in the long-run, not other way you can interpret direct quotes from the hearing today... so, yeah, while highly volatile because of recent Asiatic activity, I think it's safe to say, we're moving forward with it, regardless, in one way or another on a global scale.

oh, and this gem, which I don't quite understand;

- Don’t expect a bitcoin ETF any time soon = Clayton said the fact that exchange-traded funds (ETFs) are aimed at long-only retail investors, combined with issues concerning price discovery, custody, and volatility, mean that the regulator isn’t comfortable with green-lighting any applications yet. The crypto industry believes the hearing went well. Both Giancarlo and Clayton talked up the potential of “distributed ledger technology,” although Giancarlo noted that there would be no blockchain without bitcoin. The technology has “enormous potential,” Giancarlo said. Jerry Brito, the executive director of Coin Center, a blockchain-focused think tank in Washington DC, said the hearing showed that lawmakers want to fight crypto frauds and scams while letting Americans exercise a right to own cryptocurrencies. One prominent lawyer, who advises corporations on cryptocurrency matters, judged the SEC chief’s comments to be “neutral” while assessing the CFTC chief’s remarks as “positive.” Crypto is turning out to be the rare industry where regulation is welcomed rather than opposed.

...because of this recent article (which already dictates that exists an American ETF).

https://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe-investor/funds-and-etfs/etfs/osc-approves-canadas-first-blockchain-etf/article37828183/ (https://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe-investor/funds-and-etfs/etfs/osc-approves-canadas-first-blockchain-etf/article37828183/)

Regardless of that which, also, signifies the strength and confidence in block-chain technology and btc (hello from Canada).

So, I'd say it's neat to see how the USA/CND governments are starting to embrace it, in some hopes of regulation, but, it's even weirder how those that think this (btc, block-chain technology) is philosophically about decentralization also seem to want some form of regulation... I know that is getting off topic, so, let me end with;

A mix of the Asiatic news, the panic selling and likely a hint of market manipulation (some might call it capitalizing on panic selling and is completely legal), but, it's definitely NOT any-one factor.

I think (in my opinion) this was a good and necessary market correction so the experts, miners, owners, traders and consumers can continue to solidify the alt-coin eco-system, the exchanges and the future of BTC and block-chain technology while slowly pushing out the fraudulent aspect that has been so rampart (I myself lost 4 bitcoin in MtGox back in 2012).

I believe that in the last quarter of the last year we have experienced massive price rally and the investors who bought before that rally understood that this is something unusual and it will definitely bring Bitcoin price down. They started cashing out their Bitcoins when Bitcoin was reaching new all-time high levels that resulted in the commencement of correction process. However, I appreciate the correction because it not only helps Bitcoin to stabilize the price but also to grow in the long run.

For me bitcoin is good but it is goes down now a days because of the the competitors in the market People are now using the altcoin for business profit and for the investment and trading now they have judged that Ethereum is good to make investment in the altcoin because now the people are withdrawing their cash so that's why they have sold their bitcoin due to which the bitcoin supply is high in the market which effect the price and the buyers are less as compared to the sellers so we can say that the price fall because of this.

Well I guess bitcoin prices are affected by many reasons such as government issues, its demand and supply and also the media.because bitcoins are on top of the market for the past years the government tends to make a way to control it, many are investing in bitcoins that's why there's also a problem in supply vs demand. and also the media who has the access in everything could give an impression to the investors that can affect to the prices.

I would say due to the fights against bitcoin
in various country that could cause the price
to be so low, the government are trying to control
this virtual currency called bitcoin in may ways.

Yeah, looks like that but it'll be not easy for governments to control bitcoin in full.

There is a combination of many factors that caused the previous fall of Bitcoin and the other coins. The main one was the bad news coming from the Asian region.

In my opinion, BTC price went down hard because of those people who have bought out of greed during ATH in December 2017 without them realizing that the whales are slowly dumping and distributing their BTC to these newbies, selling to them at a higher price. FUDs came out like wildfire causing the newbies to panic sell fearing losses. At present, the whales, are at it again; accumulating BTC and buying discreetly from those who are selling at a lower price of BTC from the newbies. The next few months could possibly be an uptrend when the whales produce some waves.

Bitcoins has reached a whole new level as it increased from $900 to astonishing $19k and this increase shows how volatile and unstable bitcoin is and whenever bitcoins gets bullish it always ends with a drop as to get kind of stable or corrected with low prices. And after the correction many people panic sell which made bitcoins fall more. But this drop wasn't that bad as it created opportunity to invest more in bitcoins as it will rise soon.

The price will eventually increase so for now, investing for it and holding it will be more necessary. Just believe and keep going, actually I do not really know what it is market value but most likely it has something to do with demand in the market. But certainly, this is normal and only temporary

We can not deny that the main cause of the drastic drop in bitcoin prices a few weeks ago is related to bad news from some countries like China and Korea. But, in the last week chart of bitcoin price movement has shaped uptrend and I believe that bitcoin price in the future will increase and certainly accompanied by various corrections.

The Facebook ICO Ads prohibition couldn't have been a factor in the value going down and the South Koreans wanted all traders to use their official name on the exchanges so it also had little to no impact but China banning Bitcoin did a major one on BTC and it would have continued it freefall had the US senate hearing decided to ban bitcoin but thankfully it was averted.

I agree. The facebook ban in ads was actually a good thing since there have been an increase in suspicious icos all over social media platforms trying to draw people's money in. The korean regulation may have contributed to the drop since, like the indian ban, it could have been misinterpreted by media reports as an actual ban

It is simple, there was a series of negative news articles surrounding bitcoin, many of which were worded in such a way as to scare monger. First of all the news articles said China was BANNING bitcoin, then this was clarified that there was no ban, but that it would be regulated. Then there was news of it being BANNED in India, and then of course we find it isn't banned.

When you see a few negative articles such as these, it is best to cash out whilst the market takes a dip, then buy back in when it is recovering.

I guess the price drops recently was caused by the high amount of people that cashed out during certain celebrations. Moreover, the number surge if newbie users that are easily scared by price drops and therefore withdrawed their investments at the moment of bitcoin's decline in value. As well as it's high volatility rate are to blame as well.

I don't know much about why the price of bitcoin down, which only I know is possible, which makes the price of bitcoin dropped is because the enthusiasts of bitcoin is already not much more not like in 2017,I also think the price dropped bitcoi recently caused by the high number of people are cashing in bitcoin for a particular celebration. Moreover, the surge in the number of users of the newbie who are easily frightened by the decline in prices and therefore attractive investment at the time of decline in the value of bitcoin. As well as high levels of volatility are also to blame.

The main reason that i see is the price correction. Addition to the FUD and negative news that bitcoin is facing also cause the value to decrease. Some altcoins are only paired to bitcoin in trading, so when the price of bitcoin will go increase or decrease, the altcoin value will also affected.

Title: Re: What caused Bitcoin goes down very hard recently?

because there's a big mafia playing, selling all the bitcoin they get from the bitcoin scam website they made last year
and also the altcoin price that is falling now, is also the cause of bitcoin down
so the essence of the answer above, bitcoin prices down because of the "coin" scam that promotes his coin and to reap a big profit and then run away.
but do not be afraid bitcoin will continue to fall, while we are still using bitcoin, then bitcoin will continue to be valuable.
let the scammers sell off the coins they have, and the bitcoin prices will be back to normal again
if you no longer follow the bitcoin HYIP website, and do not get caught in the altcoin which leads to a scam that only takes on one side profit, then definitely the bitcoin price will not decrease because there will be no more bitcoin "scammer"

Bitcoin fees got too high.  So everyone quit the network.  Now there are no more transactions and everyone went to other cryptos.  Ironically, that caused the fees to drop.  But no one is returning to Bitcoin.  it is probably over unless they can get lightning working.  Which will take forever.  Try Bitcoin Cash.  Things look exciting there.

There is reason to believe that the recent downturn in the value of bitcoins has had a big impact on the continued ban in countries such as Japan, South Korea, China and India. In addition, the boom of bitcoin led to new investors joining the cryptocurrency-subjective. They collapsed when the bitcoin value plunged $ 3000- $ 5,000 just about 2 weeks. It made them scared and sold the BTC.

The caused of bitcoin goes down very hard recently because of the "big wheel cash out" which means some investor get their money because of contentment of the amount. Mostly they hold when the price is low. High and low price of bitcoin is normal which no need for us to be worried.

There were many reasons for so but mostly the panic caused as many social media sites and even countries started banning the trade the demand drastically landed going down. Many countries marked it as an illegal trade too. So a lot of times it becomes hard for BTC to stay up and keep growing with stability.

Well it all shows that Mt.Gox is liquifying it's bitcoins to be able to repay their debts. You can easily see How volume peaks at the selloffs, like 2-3 times per day.
It all indicates that someone with a huge amount of btc is doing that. Honestly it's  just a bad for Mt.Gox that it has to sell at such a low price and decreasing the price in the way, but if you can understand what caused this and it's not really the effect of some goverment bs you can invest at the dip and buy some cheap btc.

The cause of the falling bitcoin is:
1. Bitcoin Mine Cover: If one of the bitcoin mines closes, then it is likely they will remove all the bitcoins that belong to it. So the availability of the currency will be abundant in the market. This will trigger an effect that leads to a fall in prices.
2. The exchange company is closed.
3. Announcement of ban on the use of bitcoin.
4. Number of traders more than user.
5. The emergence of negative news.
6. There was a fraud.
7. Market saturation.

Another fact, the Japanese people wanted to buy Cliff trying to work for them for two months in the manipulation of Bitcoin through the web boot report, but he refused and in those conversations he got a lot of information from them stating that the Japanese have 4 trillion of dollars waiting for the purchase of hoarding large blocks in Bitcoin volume...

Another important information to keep in mind is that Goldman Sachs USA took control of poloniex and the recommendation given was to prevent or move the cryptocurrencies to cold purses as a precaution...

According Cliff High Bitcoin will reach by the end of December the 100.000$.

I think one of the reasons is negative news on media, this is a major tool that causes a lot of panic thereby leading to an increase in supply.
It is true. News plays an important role in this. Lately, there is news about Google that will ban all ads about cryptocurrency, and see the effect on market prices. Some people try to secure their assets, panic sell.

A recent report from the Bloomberg said that a group of 1000 investors used to have 40% of all the bitcoins. It makes the market much volatile. If a few of these investors are playing in a concert then they are the ones who are controlling the market.

This is surely a combination of a whole lot of factors, the absolutely ballooning value it had in 2017 included. Hence, as it tries to compensate everything it surged last year, we have to be patient as it is still starting to get a momentum to rise again. You know, we cannot always get the cake and eat it too. Just like the stock market, there are good and bad days. And often times, the good will always outweigh the bad when the right timing comes. Also, one reason I see that is very destructive of Bitcoin's value is the selling in Japan in relation to the Mt. Gox. I believe since the selling is still not over, the price will still continue to slump. The soonest it gets over, I am positive it will gain strength thereafter.

We can also say this is base FUD that run all over the crypto world and some users, investors and traders listen to that

It is a nature of bitcoin. The price high and low is not significant to the bitcoin.  Bitcoin is volatile, but it will not end. There are several new developments regarding cryptocurrency regulations that may be affecting the price. Whatever the catalyst is, this is a normal & healthy market correction, that if anything, should bring you a sigh of relief.

A lot of new investors had entered the scene in 2017, and these people want 10x profit in one month. And when they realized that this is no longer possible, they started dumping their coins. This is the reason behind the recent downturn in the exchange rates.

because there's a big mafia playing, selling all the bitcoins they've earned from the bitcoin scam website they've made last year, and also the falling XPY price is now also the cause of the bitcoin down,
Many HYIP sites underwent bitcoin investments that led to a scam, and now it's time for scammers to sell bitcoin from their scam.

so, at the core of the above answer, bitcoin prices dropped due to the act of coin "a scam that promotes its homemade coin and to reap big profits and then run away.
Do not be interested in Invest Bitcoin's business on the internet right now, it's better if we collect bitcoin by way of searching from faucet "and also capital that has accumulated in capital for trading, you can see collection of trading sites to be a choice of bitcoin trading.

so do not be afraid the bitcoin price goes down, while we're still using bitcoin, bitcoin will continue to be valuable, let the scammers sell out the bitcoin they have, and the bitcoin price will return to normal again.
If you are no longer following the bitcoin HYIP site, and do not get stuck in altcoin which leads to a scam that only takes profit on one side then it can be definitely the price of bitcoin will not decrease because there will be no more bitcoin scammer results

*Correct me if i wrong

The valuation of BTC fluctuation is always the hot topic to discuss and it is never constant, it always fluctuates and the fluctuation in the valuation of BTC is due to the demand and supply concept of BTC. If the larger the number of bitcoin trader and more the people are engaged into it, inflated will be valuation and vice versa. The fluctuation in valuation of BTC is as common as like other investment and according to me, the valuation will soon increase till the month of June.

Price fluctuations on bitcoin and other cryptos are normal due to its unstable price. However, banning of crypto exchanges in other countries followed by banning of crypto ads in facebook, google and other sites added on its dumping price. From January to March almost or more than 30% of its price were lose. Despite of this, im still hoping that its price will still recover.

Indeed, wealthy people can often control the market the way they want. But this downside of the crypto market is not related to their moves. Perhaps the modern technology is experiencing some problems and investors no longer believe in technology. Alibaba and Amazon shares have declined significantly and have had a dramatic impact on bitcoins. That is my thinking about the cause of bitcoin.

Well, everybody knows that the price of bitcoin and other altcoins are now very dropping. But, what will you actually do with your coins? Are those for your investment? I'm sure that everyone has their decision. In this case, I'm pretty sure that the price of bitcoin will still rise their amount at the future time. therefore, I'll not sell my coins right now. It is better to keep the cryptocurrencies and get more of them to invest for long term. I think now this is the best idea that I will do.

one of the causes of the decline in bitcoin prices is the loss of confidence in the digital currency because until now there is no clarity of all countries about the legality and rules that allow the use of digital currency. so all altcoin prices go down as the bitcoin price drops.

In my humble opinion, i think the lack of volume shows lack of interest in bitcoin at these prices, meaning it still expensive relative to the market sentiment, i see more potential downside than upside. Nothing definitive has happened in the last 24 hours to change the very sentiment that has driven BTC from 20k to 6k last month, and back to 6k in the last few days. The rebound was also short lived, with strong resistance at $7200. The death cross just happened today as well, which shows further downside and long term bearish momentum. The last time this cross happened was in 2014 ... and that was the start of 1 year bear market. Hopefully not the case this time, but still, something hard to ignore and important to consider.

My 2 cents.

That is absolutely fine brother. Yes all these characteristics of bitcoins have made them advantageous and superior over so many coins existing now in the international market. Every other day a new coin is popping up in the market but still the market is not getting saturated. However the stance of bitcoins are so clear, so strong and so determined, only for this, people are proffering them over others.

The circulation of the negative news will certainly change the thinking of bitcoin holders, especially those who are new to bitcoin, because they are panicking, they are selling their bitcoins into the market, thus making bitcoin supply abundant and this makes bitcoin prices down.

Yeah me too, now bitcoin price down because some company, media and google ban cryptocurrency. Many people who lose money from site scammer, it's because in 2017 and 2018 many new investor come to the world of crypto in this situation utilized by scammer for geting profit. For me the way social media and google ban cryptocurrency it's good way, though make price continue decline but in the positive side the scammer in the world of cryptocurrency will decrease. And I think this price will continue to dicline because google will ban cryptocurrency in june.

Actually the price of Bitcoin is influenced by what ? If you notice fluctuations or ups and downs of Bitcoin prices are quite extreme.
If you are currently observing Bitcoin prices, then you will be amazed by the rapid rise and fall of Bitcoin prices (fluctuations). In fact you may also wonder whether companies (such as Luno) that determine the price of Bitcoin?
The answer is no, because Bitcoin is interoperable.

Several factors played in this days price plummeting of the most popular cryptocurrency. Maybe because of those unpleasant news with respect to fears on regulatory crackdown; suspension of exchanges; banning from posting in facebook; issuance of waved of subpoenas and so forth. Also don't forget concerns about price manipulation of whales. But the most relevant factor i am seeing is that investors may just be ultimately loosing their trust that they can recover their capital that in turn a massive sell-off is the only notable thing to do.

Well in this kind of industry we do have different peoples and those different peoples have their different kind of thinking which come out of different ideas. So each one of us here have their own ideas on which things affect the price or value of bitcoin. What I am saying here is that no one knows why, when or how much it will increase or decrease it is all depending on what you believed in.

Without the people who are getting greedy all the time and are so naïve when it comes to investment, the whales would not really be having a lot of moves in the market. However, we are still in the early stage where so many people would obviously want to tap from the whole idea and some would always want to get rich quickly and the latter are always the target in every market. Those who understand all these will always use the moment of dips to buy more.

Some of the whales spread a bad news about bitcoin. So the weak hands people scared about the news and sell there holdings.
It has always been their way and it would always be. Weak hands are there to serve that purpose for them and as long as that keeps happening, the whales will keep winning and getting richer while the weak hands keep getting poorer and complaining for the rest of their lives. One thing with the market is that it is still very volatile since we are still in the adoption phase and people keep getting greedy and that would keep making it highly volatile until further notice.

There were many reasons for so but mostly the panic caused as many social media sites and even countries started banning the trade the demand drastically landed going down. Many countries marked it as an illegal trade too. So a lot of times it becomes hard for BTC to stay up and keep growing with stability.

Feel free to answer my questions and thanks for your participation.
Dont bother about the price drops, because it always followed by price growth.

This is a normal scenario nowadays and we have no power to stop this, what we can do is just go witj the flow, dont put big investments just do it little by little and be particular in timing of investing

This is some really wise words and made me muster up courage again for supporting bitcoin. Indeed, we cannot go for changing the market all the way in few moments but all that is in our hands is to help bitcoin in doing so by keep investing into it. This is going to change our patience into a reward. It is better to stay patient over things that we cannot change than mourning over them and regretting.

There are a multiple reasons to why the value of bitcoin goes down.
Panic sellers easily give in to wrong and false speculations, they raise the supply - the value depends on the demand/supply scheme.
Also because of the influence of the policies of their government which mostly is negative at present.

It has a great potential though, it will rise.
Not to worry especially if you are investing in the long-term.

There are number of reasons that led to the price drop, and within certain time interval it gets recovered which is the common thing. In specific there is none to give a perfect reason for the recent price drop, all that happening is unpredictable. At times we see growth at unexpected times. As a beginning the forward push has got initiated with the recent pump above $7500.

Indeed! No single factor that affects the price to fluctuate, it could be due to banning issue, fake information, and more. But I believe that instead of focusing on what causes the drop, it is more important to think positive, think for the better, keep calm, accept the fact that the presence of volatility is always there. It's our response to the situation that matters, it's the patience, the way we take a look at the brighter side even the situation is unfavorable, and our faith that market can soar high again, that it can get back on track.

I agree! There's nothing wrong in determining the cause of how price goes down, because it gives us more awareness on how market moves, but I don't think it's helpful if we focus more on it, the more we can't think and decide creatively. The rise and fall in price is very uncertain, a lot of factors to consider like media influence and more. We can't control its movement but we can control our responses by taking a different path and make use of our time to be productive. By taking advantages on the dump, becoming more strategic, learning to deal volatility, and be positive that if things don't turn out to be good this time, it will find its way to be better the next time.

I think the cause is that so many countries are banning bitcoin from being used in their country like China, so bitcoin investors in that country have to sell all its bitcoins and keep the price down. and the effects for altcoin I do not think there's any effect whatsoever, and the estimates for bitcoin rise again I think later in 2018

The only reason for bitcoins to lost its popularity is the fud or fake news that is generated by different individuals, the price is also increasing because of the popularity dealt by different social media's.
