Here are my options: Powercolor RX 570 4GB Red Devil = $290 * 13pcs Zotac 1070TI Mini = $620 * 7pcs Zotac 1080TI Mini = $920 * 5pcs If you were in my position, what will you choose in terms of profitability and faster ROI? I dont mine specific coin, I just mine whatever most current profitable because I aim to get my capital first. I currently have Powercolor RX570 4GB Red Devil*13 rig, drawing 1800W from the wall. And currently making .0345 ETH per day (based on profit calculators as pool's calculators are so wobbly). Thanks. i understand you want to pick the less number nvidia than 13pcs rx570. im really hesitant because i never had a chance to experience nvidia, given the price, i might regret in the future. but i can see that most of you choose nvidia. i might pull the trigger already. up there somebody asking where am I, Im from the Philippines. there are still stores that sell near msrp, but I doubt you can get one from the store I am buying at, they only cater Filipinos and from the time being, there is only 8pcs available 1080TI. so by tomorrow, all of these will be out of stock already. same with other variants. I told the sales rep to hold the stocks for me atleast until tomorrow, thats why I asked here for a good deal before pulling the trigger. shall i get the 5pcs 1080TI now than 13pcs rx570? Much easier to get going than 13 570s, more profitable, better resale value, more versatile.
1080ti is slightly more profitable if you know what you're doing. But the high tdp isn't ideal for mining, and it's terrible on eth so you lose some versatility. 13 570s should pull about 1500W (possibly less with good cards and settings, could go as low as 1400W) from the wall on just eth if you're doing it right. The fact that you're using 1800 tells me you should buy the 1070ti's. Title: Re: RX5704GB*13 or 1070TI*7 or 1080TI*5 Post by: d00f on February 08, 2018, 08:08:03 PM I have an 8 card 1070ti rig after very carefully analyzing profit and ROI. The 1080ti is 24% on average more profitable (at 33% more cost based on your numbers). I calculated the RX570 cards as 12% less profitable and their resale was about 40% less. Over Christmas I babysat a RX570 rig (12 cards) and it made about 25% less than my 1070ti rig and took more power too. I'm not sure why it was so much lower than my calculations, but the 1070ti remains the best choice right now. It just doesn't make sense to buy them for another 2-3 weeks until the first few major shipments of cards arrive from asia. Now I just wish I'd find a container full of those on the shoreline...

For mining, always get the most profit/$. It's true that 13 RX 570's will produce about $600/month profit in eth under current conditions. 7x 1070 Ti will product about $350/month in profit on eth and about $500/month on zec (under current conditions). But the 570's have poor resale value and cannot mine nearly as many coins profitably. If you can pony up for one more 1070 Ti, you could pretty much match the 570's in total profitability anyway. OP already has 13 570s. OP should diversify. Title: Re: RX5704GB*13 or 1070TI*7 or 1080TI*5 Post by: mattyforcrypto on February 09, 2018, 01:09:59 AM Depending on your electricity costs Nvidia might be the better choice if it's expensive.
If you want to use Nicehash or jump around with algos anyway, then as some people already said, the Nvidia cards will be much better since they're more versatile. I think you also should take other costs into account, with 13 RX570 you will most likely need more PSUs and Mainboards etc, additional costs and risk factors where you might get problems. 7 1070tis should fit on a single rig, depending on the board you get. Also don't forget the 1070 is one (or the) most efficient card when it comes to hashes/watt. The resale value, which was mentioned before, for the AMD cards is very low, they're also not as durable as Nvidia (from my experience) cards. A 1070ti is a pretty great card and will still be usable for people even in a few years once AMD will release a new series again, and Nvidia should release their new batch around May. Nvidia is easier to setup, no custom BIOS or other fancy things needed, just plug in, install and go, I would go for the 1070ti, or the regular 1070, not sure if the 9gbps problems are fixed yet Title: Re: RX5704GB*13 or 1070TI*7 or 1080TI*5 Post by: d00f on February 09, 2018, 02:08:01 AM Another fun point about the 1070ti cards. Buy the cheapest ones you can. Performance is identical comparing the most expensive founders edition super extra cool blower fan unit and 9 temp sensors with the most basic. I am running the zotac mini as it needs only 1 plug.

Would have been much better for you if you could get the 1080`s (at least they would have more resale value in the future), since those 570`s are 4gb :( Title: Re: RX5704GB*13 or 1070TI*7 or 1080TI*5 Post by: androstan1234 on February 09, 2018, 02:34:07 PM Too bad. I guess if you're dualmining 1800W isn't terrible. But the extra earnings just don't seem worth it.
