I never thought the exchange was hacked but never say never, most people do underestimate the level of job  these exchanges are doing, if it were to be an hack the information would have filter into the space, security is first for most of them, especially when you are trusted with $1 billions of Dollars of users fund.

Good to see! I know alot of people were worried about this. Rumors were going around that binance was hacked. Personally I didn't believe it, but you know how these rumors get around so quickly. So glad to see that they're wrapping it up. I also feel bad for those who had their funds or anything else tied up on binance during this process!

Well the air has been cleared about Binance being hacked but this reminds us that we should take Security so seriously. True that Cryptocurrency is a gamechanger in terms of finance but so is Security. These days hackers are improving their game so we should be vigilant.

I like binance, i guess binance are leading exchange on how they treat their costumers, plus their mobile app is amazing, user friendly and less bug, and they really care "what" coin they listed on their exchanges. I just binance users who satisfied with this exchange.

Yea now binance is ok for trading.some one says it was hacked and i also saw some news about binance as hacked.but i did not worry about that because there is no official announce about it. So people should always avoid fud/rumor.

Always be cautious. The exchange will not be 100 percent safe. So you'd better pick up the tokens in the exchange.

I would never leave all my funds on one exchange. I leave less than 10% on a single exchange.

I mean it sounds like a great idea, but for someone like me, if I spread my assets around and divided them into 1/10s then I would be stuck with such little buying/selling power I would be lucky to make $20 a trade.

For HODLers yes, it is preferable. But for day traders it is something quite difficult to achieve. And sometimes I accumulate more bitcoins to transfer them all at once, because the fee is quite steep, usually 0.001 BTC, which is ~8USD.  Unfortunately even with SegWit and Lightning implemented, greedy bastards who own exchanges will never reduce this fee.

That's good, I wouldn't like to see Binance struggling, it's great exchange. Somehow I still feel better about Kraken and Coinbase, those are my 3 favorites. Been using them for years. Kraken has experienced some struggles lately, always showing errors, but I rather stand that than losing my coins to some new well performing exchange.

Perhaps a phishing attack was made on the Binance exchange site, as recently happened to the Coincheck exchange?

It is easy and simple that people like me thought Binance hacked! Because Binance hacked more than once ! Now, they are very good exchange site but still we have that past fear because of our money on it.

I could log in to Binance yesterday, when it was 'down' for maintenance. All it said was that trading was not available. But now, I can't even get the page to load. Could it be that too many people are trying to log on at once? I hope that's the reason, and nothing more sinister than that!

yes its good to see binance is back and also good news for traders as well because now a days binance is most popular and easy to use exchange. Also binance registration is easy , no need to wait for long time for account approval. In other exchanges like bittex, poloniex needs to very your account first for start trading. And binance service is fast. Good to see again binance resume its trading.

Binance is one of the best exchanges on the market together with kucoin and Exmo.

That was all of a sudden, to be honest. This platform was performing just so well lately - but those works were quite long. However, I believe that in future we will avoid such situations because for the traders there are a lot of crucial timings and technical works may result in serious money loss.

But anyway I doubt if I am ever going to use binance again.
There is no reason for the site to be offline for 24 hours, even if they have an important maintanance work to do, they atleast need to keep the trading platform up and to disable withdrawals and deposits if they have a problem with them.
People who stores large amount of money in the site are getting into panic mode and will probably won't use this exchange any more.

Yes, Binance is indeed back. I was laughing out loud about John McAfee attempting to FUD some investors that this exchange was hacked after hours of delay, but the Binance owner proved that there was no hacked involved.

BTC dropped a bit, but climbed back to $8.2K afterward. I hope this server upgrade would be good enough for them to sustain despite the increased trading activity and new registrations as well.

Their developers are working on it and after seeing this news all Binance users are rushing to check their balance so because of high traffic sometimes the site will down. I think within 1 or 2 days everything will be all right.

Binance hacked more than once? What the heck are you talking about? Binance was never hacked(If what they claim that caused their recent issues are true).

This is good news, but remember: never leave your assets in exchanges for long. Hacking, account blocking (bittrex style), temporary blackouts happening at the most strategic time, and many other problems make our current exchanges untrustworthy to hold your crypto for long.

Looks like everything is fine and up to the mark now even their mobile app is working flawlessly. Let's trade and enjoy the 70% trading fees. Even I was scared because yesterday I planned to sell some ETC and my order was stuck even after trying many times. Anyway I'm happy now because ETC moved to the moon.

Binance ain't working yet from my end, I did try after reading this thread, I'm not sure why there's some issue with this site I have some tokens that I wanted to trade but the site still down, maybe the team still working and trying to fixed the issue, any words from the team will give some good hope

Good to know that they are back. I checked them last night was getting error on my mobile app. Well This is one of the reason it is not advisable to store all your token on exchanges.

People that are scared are those who don't yield to the advice that don't leave your fund on exchanges. Binance iss one of the exchange I personally like and has scaled well in recent month but the team need to be very security conscious because it is going to be target for hackers

I discovered the difficulties when I wanted to access my acount on the site and was unable to do so. It's good that they are back but I don't think all is set yet as I still can't transfer funds to my account. Perhaps they are still working on the engine. Hope everything get back to normal soon.

I suggest you never keep all your funds in the crypto exchange since it's not very safe since you never know what might happen in the future. Also, if someone hackers Binance, I do not think they will have enough funds to cover the losses because this exchange is also an ICO project. I always send my fund to trade for less than a week and withdraw it as soon as possible.

It's good that Binance is back in a business because it's really comfortable and easy to use exchange.

I never used Binance but this thing always comes up in my Facebook Crypto feeds so I found out that many users freaked out due to Binance' system upgrade.
Speculations were everywhere and most of them came out from nowhere due to recent hacks and attacks of Crypto Exchanges that made up people into thinking maybe Binance' also hacked but they're trying to keep their mouth shut.
Binance is back to business, in fact they're offering 70% discounts on their trading services due to their clients' unable to access in the last 72 hours of waiting.

Just calm down and relax - Binance is upgrading their system in order to protect their networks and everyone's assets into Hack proof and they just don't want to be the next hackers and attackers' target.
It is important that the IT security specialists will know the cause of the attacks and the network vulnerabilities from the recent attack activities in order to patch other Crypto Exchange servers. Otherwise, it will lead again to the next market crash if they won't fix it as soon as possible.

Binance is one of my favourites exchanges.. very easy interface and there are alot of common currencies that it had united... and also my 30k usd worth ripple were stuck there :D.. good to see it back

Do not listen to McAfee he is a douche,he twitted binance was hacked but they werent it might cause another panic this McAfee doesnt know how powerful his words are,because most of his followers are blinded by the anti-virus thing but he himself should be cleaned because viruses are giving him a lot of delusions.I never thought binance would be hacked because it is one of a kind which has the most secured exchange system.

Did you have money on Binance? Were you alarmed or confident? I had a few grand on there, far more than usual... Super glad it turned out ok, but still let this be a reminder to me and everyone else, storing coins on an exchange is more scary than on a secure private wallet

Honestly i didn’t panic at all during this situation because they handled the situation well. They didn’t lack communication and informed us on a regular basis. Of course it’s not cool to lose access to your coins. Hope it won’t happen again.

Whatever it is still the best stock exchange binance. They lowered their commission rates to apologize for the time they waited. I think they show good intentions.

Yes it seems its already up and running,most of the people started to panic when this McAfee has tweeted that binance has been compromised by the hackers which is like spreading another FUD,he doesnt know that it might be the reason why bitcoin's price will drop gain,because his stupidity doesnt consider people's mindset.

McAfee is just talking for the sake of having talked, his comments have no substance. When did he even become an expert for cryptocurrencies? We should stop paying any attention to what he is saying.

Binance was offline longer than anyone would of expected.  This resulted in a flood of FUD on twitter in which John McAfee also took part of.  The CEO did send out tweets to calm people's nerves.  Binance was very professional during this issue.

Unfortunately I wanted to buy a specific coin via Binance, but it rallied hard yesterday and now I don't think it is a good idea to run after the missing train.

This is a truly good news, and not only for those who are having funds there, but for the whole world of cryptos. Had Binance been hacked I am afraid we would have another huge blood bath on top of the one which we just had.

Right now they're not forced to share any data with any government. Imagine an exchange from Japan sharing data of Greek citizens having account with the greek government. Not very likely, right. Also some of them like Binance have no verifications if you withdraw daily up to 2 BTC (or its equivalent) so I don't see many people withdrawing more daily.
If you keep them to your private wallet and withdraw them there, you don't have any risks!

I guess they are not fully up. From my end I am still having some problem with my API connecting and even on the website some things are still not working correctly. Probably, some work is still going on and they are trying to just make most people relaxed a little bit with all the FUD going around regarding the exchange. The twitter has been active anyway but I am just eager to make some trades and now is not the right time for them having issues like this.

It is really crazy seeing most of these exchanges experiencing some little shut down for upgrades or some shit, and sometimes it really gets scary if we are safe or not.

Yes, no one is safe as long as it comes to an exchange since we do not have control of our money, but at least, there should always be information upfront before just closing up and logging everyone out like that, it can raise some negative vibes and send the wrong messages. I was almost losing it until I saw some tweets on their page.

There is no other real exchange for me, tbh. The most professional and most transparent team yet. Incredible support, I lost my 2fa a while back. Emailed them at 3 am. Next morning I woke up to them having reset my 2fa. I just hope it doesn't go to their heads and they end up like bittrex or something like that. The CEO seems like he knows what's up. They've pretty much been trying to avoid doing the mistakes the others have made. And it's worked out incredibly. They're on top of the game right now.

Luckily it was 'only' a DDOS-attack. There is not much an exchange can do about this to prevent it from happening. A DDOS-attack is pretty expensive to execute. What did the attackers want to achieve with this? Spread FUD to decrease the bitcoin/altcoin price and step in with an investment at the bottom? Good to see the market didn't react to this attack.

I'm also happy that there was no negative reaction, price-wise. It leads me to believe that this market is increasingly resilient to outside attacks. It is still rife with manipulation, but I feel we're on the right path in terms of future stability. After this last crash, which resurfaced some of the insecurities I had long ago dismissed, the market seems to be on a healthy path. I'm not very fond of violent swings, downwards or upwards for that matter. A week later, it's as if it didn't even happen.

Binance's altcoin trading volume is the first in the world, and the number of users is the first in the world. This maintenance should be only a database problem. Although the maintenance time is relatively long, there is no need to worry about it.

A good exchange should be always transparent to their user whatever happens.Binance is one of the good exchange but for me even you use a very great or very secure exchanger its always your job to secure yours assets.Never stock your your assets inside the exchanger specially if your not a daily trader.Its just for your own safety as well.

This applies to any exchange that Tether is on, not just Binance. If I understand correctly, Tether (UST) is under audit.

I think what's happening is the sudden lack of access to funds on such a huge exchange made its users realise how risky it is to keep their money on an exchange. Loads of people are probably trying to withdraw their coins, which is probably why Binance can be a bit hard to access for some people.

Moral of this whole story (and I'm definitely not the only one saying this): don't store coins on any exchange, unless you're actively trading with them

I never had any doubts of Binance not coming back.  There was a lot of FUD about Binance possibly being hack but that was not the issue.  Everything is working flawless now and my balance is all intact.  Binance is my favorite exchange to trade on. 

I can't even imagine if a good exchanges like Binance will be down due to some hack issues. Thanks that they are back and business as usual. The good thing nothing had reported of such a lost of coins after the shutdown. Hope that they will improve more as many users will trust to them as one of best exchanges in crytobusiness.

I was worried, there was no concrete news, and a lot of negative news were busy flying around and not hearing anything from the devs or team, unless I missed it though, was not really comforting. Glad they are back, and I hope the essence of it all was to get better. I know with the level of growth going on in the crypto space, it can be overwhelming and it would take some more exchanges coming up and the present ones keeping up with the speed of the growth to be able to stay afloat.

The level of DDOS attack that most of these exchanges experience is not a small thing and even though it can be crazy, but it takes a high level of security team to always stay at alert. We are talking about a lot of funds here and I am sure they will be trying their very best to make sure they stay on top of their game. I am sure they must not have expected the level of explosion of users though, but they will just have to find a way to keep up.

Even though how secured it is, still have possibilities that any exchanger to be hack. Good thing to know that nothing have been loose from binance, hackers really underestimate the capabilities of this exchanger. What happen to Binance really impresses investors and traders of it's security system, it gains more trust from them and encourage others to make used of Binance as a their trading site..

The binance exchanges was really hacked,and they are only blaming those bots instead of admitting that they were compromised blaming those bots for the stolen APis is really not a good move,very unprofessional that is why i have already moved my funds from binance back to bittrex which has more secured features than binance.

Although Binance has come back and is more secure, my trust in Binance is over. I will transfer my altcoin to other trading floors. Binance is trying to justify their lack of responsibility, their flaws have alienated many investors.

Nothing is wrong with Binance, I trade on Binance all the time.  The rumours and it's effect in cryptocurrency could be huge.  If you don't know what you are doing in this space one could easily be derail.

binance chain is really all just hype nothing more easy money for them the binance Exchange has some serious technical problems a lot of customers are lockout of their account and their funds binance should invest in customers services they are making millions of dollars and their customers services is just prewritten messages that doesn,t solve the problems of their customers

I think that binance lose a huge amount of profit because bitcoins increase like sky rocket back in december then bitcoins decreased drastically so there is no doubt that they would not have any problem because they have a lot of investors.

Binance will increase in price, because they are waiting for another burning of their tokens and it is these actions that will bring coins to a normal look and price, and not as others do that billions of tokens of one project are created and in the end they are not needed by anybody, this is not serious.

Lol. Seriously? Have you also tried other exchanges withdrawal fees? They are all nearly the same. Perhaps bitmex has the highest withdrawal fees of all these exchanges. Or maybe you are referring to a specific coin? 

I totally disagree with you. Binance is one of the most cheapest withdrawal fee compared to other known trading platform like bittrex. You should try bittrex or poloneix to appreciate Binance lowest fees.

KuCoin has lower withdrawal fee than Binance.

Kucoin is good. A new exchange that is growing day by day and is competing well. But compared to Binance it is still a bit far. Binance got the volume that every traders dream of. Binance having a smooth running app is a big advantage.

Binance started to work smoothly. The world's largest cryptographic exchange has returned to normal after 2 days. I never thought about the possibility of a hacking attack. I know cyber security precautions are enough. :)

I'm not sure about binance I mostly trade on bittrex. I may not have enough experience and will change my mind in the future.

Binance is a great exchange to use but its still only crypto in or out ie no FIAT gateway which is one advantage that Kraken offered. The trading fees are great some coins withdraw fees are lower than others but if you don't move things in and out to often then its not that bad.

binance is the best exchange for me. have many altcoin and new ICO on it. better than bittrex and poloniex (which never update new coin)

I think binance is a big exchange there are lots of coins to trade but they are having a lot of scale problems and reliable exchanges. And Binance may be hacked but that's not the problem. Everything works perfectly now and my balance is whole. Binance is my favorite exchange to exchange.

Never had a doubt that binance would bounce back and would just return to normal. It is the biggest cryptocurrency exchange out there which means that they have a reputation to uphold and they would do the best to bounce back. Everyone should just make sure to now leave their coins on exchanges and to always transfer out coins to wallets which they hold the private keys to, as this is the safest.

I do not think that something bad will happen with this stock exchange. But all this depends on the honesty of the team. If they are caught for the fraudulent prices of tokens, then they will be in for big problems. And we, including.

Their price has held up fairly well during the crash aswell. It's the only coin I've been holding long term, literally mad how fast their company has grown whilst being profitable from day 1.

Binance is great but also I feel like the risks it takes (when Japan reprimanded them for operating without a license) are unwise at times and may tarnish the brand in the medium-term. Right now, the company has released reports of obtaining a fiat license in Malta for Euro to crypto but who knows whether that will get them one step closer to a fiat to crypto license in the U.S.? I guess only time will tell. In the meantime, I'm betting more on companies like Huobi that are setting up multiple separate entities that are loosely affiliated with each other. Yes its good to see binance is back and also good news for traders as well because now a days binance is most popular and easy to use exchange. Also binance registration is easy , no need to wait for long time for account approval. In other exchanges like bittex, poloniex needs to very your account first for start trading. And binance service is fast. Good to see again binance resume its trading.

I think a good exchange should always be transparent to their users no matter what. Because finance is one good exchange but for me you even use a very great or very safe exchanger, it's always your job to secure your assets. Never keep your assets in the exchanger especially if you are not a daily trader. Just for your own safety too.

Whatever it is still the best binary stock market, and They lower their commission rates to apologize when they wait, I think they show better intentions, but still let this be a reminder for me and others, keep the coins on the stock more scary than in a more secure personal wallet.

Yes, although Binance is popular, well known and one of the best exchange out there. Don't ever trust them with your funds, don't ever store large amount of funds on Binance and any other exchange. Get a cold storage (hardware wallet) to be specific because it's more secure than any other exchange that you have been trusting. This is applicable also to traders, they can transfer funds that they will trade but for the remaining funds they have, they should store it somewhere secured like what I mentioned.

I think this is normal. Given the scale of the exchange and the number of users, such problems with the functioning of the platform are acceptable, but I was surprised that the project team quickly solved this problem, which shows that the platform is good.

Binance is also a big exchange which means it also cost alot of time in order to fix their platform  . cryptopia on the other hand is hacked . thats the reason why they cant be accesible .


 
What about the traders ? Do you mean traders are the only one that can continue to put their funds on any exchange ?  Why ? Because they are actively trading ? Traders are actually the one that can be a possible victim of hacking because they are the ones that oftently deposit coins on the exchange while non trader users can be hack rarely  .

Actually, small or big, maintenance can take a long time and regular maintenance usually means shorter times during downtime. The longer you delay, the longer it takes. Cryptopia's case is also a bit different, it was not necessarily hacked, that it the story, but they took their server offline to fix it.

And yes, traders who need the funds to trade are the only ones who should keep money on exchanges. IF you aren't using your funds, they should be sitting on your own wallet. No excuses.
