Also, if you're on Ubuntu 11.04 and using the command line client it won't work, there is a bug in libcurl that sets the ssl timeout to too short a value. Means the owner decided to be their own certificate authority, instead of using a public one. You are still connecting with 128bit encryption, but you have to trust the owner, because they can easily crack the encryption. Us nerds know this and will prob take the chance, but such a thing will not fly with noobs. You should always spend the money and use a professional certificate authority. |
