Now that I had predicted yesterday that litecoin will go up past 200, Expect a crash in price today. Due to Chinese new year and since everything has been going up for past 3 days, another crash is expected today as people will be cashing out.

I don't expect any crash on Litecoin today because a hard fork is announced on February 18th. The owners of Litecoin will receive 10 LitecoinCash for every Litecoin they own. This is the reason why Litecoin has reached $221 today and probably move higher in the coming 2-3 days until the fork. The new forked coin will be mined with SHA256 mining hardware so it will probably attract some of the Bitcoin miners.
Charlie Lee announced that is against this new coin, time will show us if it will be successful or not.

I do not think Litecoin will have a big slump，Because if people need to spend money, then they will advance the cash of funds, rather than wait until the arrival of the Spring Festival began to cash.

Yeah unlikely that litecoin will have a big dip considering that hard fork, most will try to get more and take advantage of the situation where you will get forks free coins as well

Speculations. Most of the cryptomarket is going up today. Why do people think it just MUST go down before/after the holidays? Maybe a lot of people are actually gifting bitcoin/litecoin/some other currency during the holidays?

You are clearly not doing a lot of research litecoin wont have any official fork,it is a scam it is already have cleared by the LTC's founder Charlie Lee,if you dont know about it you better to dig some information.Litecoin wont have any fork,LCC or LiteCoinCash is a scam and unofficial forked coin.Stay away if you arent yet involved or you can join and lose your investments.

I think this is the right time to invest and buy some Litecoin for long-term investments, all altcoins go up, if we do not buy it now, maybe there will be no more exact time

You did not predict anything. Everything you did was guess. Neither do you bring any analysis to prove your claim, nor have you provided evidence for your "prediction".
I do not think LTC will crash in the next few weeks. I think LTC will have a slight price cut. But maybe now is the time when the LTC is again rising in price.
That would mean that you should buy coins now. But not more.

The only dip I'm worried about is the chinese new year. A lot of people expect a crash but I think it'd just be a great time to buy.

LOL. i have been away so i don't know if LTC will dip or not but what you said doesn't make any sense! if anything with this fork of litecoin there should be a bigger rise because more greedy people are buying it and that is a simple pump.

Chinese new year  is not connected in anyway with LTC.

LTC price is up, because they will start the lighting network in the end of the month. I don't expect a down dip anytime soon for LTC.

I'm sure this has nothing to do with chinese new year and LTC will keep moving up. Remember Litepay has been launched and we have not seen the best results yet. So we wait and see, as this is just beginning.

Not gonna happen since litepay starts at february 26 charle lee tweeted that they have 3 more big news coming out in that period.If you want to check your theory see if the chinese are buying doge coin since thier new year is year of the dog ;D

It is expected to crash because charlie already announced that there will be no upcoming fork from the LTC's team that is why most of the people who got FOMO from these FUDS are dumping LTC today.People needs a lot of research before investing to these scam projects,and people who are behind these shitty coins should be remove from our community.

I choose to use long term period to make money with LTC, so I can't tell you nothing because you're speculation trader/ invest, meaning you create opportunity from moment not by pattern. Actually, LTC is good coin even always get slow price action and get negative impact from btc. Until now LTC has been survive and new coin ( from ICO's ) still can't pass it. People don't care if the fork is official or it is not. Everybody knows what Charlie Lee announced about this fork. People want money, and this (as in any other fork) is for free.
So by buying more Litecoins, they have an opportunity to acquire some BitcoinCash for free. That is enough for them, it is free altcoins.
You don't have to make a research for this.
Litecoins price will rise until the announced fork (if any) and after that, it will return to the previous price $120-$150.

If only everything was as simple as you say. Chinese New Year does not have such a colossal influence on pricing.

Litecoin will get to $1k this year. Because why not? It has everything we want for cryptoCURRENCY - growing adoption, speed and cost of transactions and normal crypto characteristics. Charlie and team are working on this project. It's one of the most promising coins this year.

It will definitely dip,  but after hard fork!  People are buying and LTC is growing on expectations,  so after fork it probably will fall on an amount of free coins received,  I don't know yet, how much it will cost

Due to the hard fork of Litecoin, I don't think there's a big chance that LTC would dump big time. However, I am not going to say that I'm right. I could be wrong, because the cryptoverse is so unpredictable, highly speculative and volatility.

I don't worry about the dip if that happens, because I'm prepared mentally about that, especially during the big crash in mid-January to early February.

I think litecoin will continue to increase until the fork happens and even after that there may be a dip but I really do not think it will be that much, litecoin has been steadily growing and it is a bit more natural then a simple pump.

Litecoin will be one to watch this year.

for the time being litecoin seems to be on the rise and no matter what you guess, the trend seems to not agree with you. and with all these useless LTC forks that are upcoming in the near future i believe there may even be more rises as people are FOMO buying litecoin because they first see the free money in their near future and second they see the rise itself and feel left out.

Well, as we all know, after a big and serious rise in the market, you need to slow down, so people earning a few tens of percent fix their profits. I think that we should not be surprised, because this rule always works.

It is because CHarlie Lee officially announced that there will be no LTC fork coin,most of the people who bought LTC were FOMO by these FUD spreading of these scammers,they just want to get people's money from this fake forked coin which is clearly not part of Charlie Lee's team.

Well, I don't expect the litecoin price increase fast right now and yes lets expect the huge dump of litecoin in chinese new year but I'm afraid bitcoin as well.

Not necessarily, why people will be cashing out as much Litecoin, so that its price will go down? It has been descending for nearly 2 months already, and now LTC undergoes a period of stability and a slight increasing even, same as BTC. It might drop a bit though, but will recover in 2-3 days.

I think LTC will continue to increase in time and stay on the market. LTC has its own advantages and attracted many investors.

I dont think that Litecoin will not dip that much because there is a nice fork called Litecash upcoming. The people will start to buy if they see that htere is a great upcoming fork!

Even if there will be a dump, the dump of Litecoin will not be that obvious. No matter how odd the circumstance might be, Litecoin if not maintain the status quo, it will moon greatly well instead of crashing.

Come on, Chinese New Year is not such a big holiday that can affect the market! I guess it is our thoughts about it that change things more. People keep saying the prices will go down -> other people read it as well -> people sell their coins expecting the Chinese to do the same -> the market goes down and nobody is happy.

Litecoin grew in price because of the upcoming fork and it is not likely to go down at least before the fork and claiming of coins is over.

Chinese New year will be positive for cryptocurrencies as I don't think the Chinese market markers will have time to dump Litecoin because a lot of Chinese people are spending their time with family members and friends. Last year, the Chinese new year didn't have a big impact on Litecoin or Bitcoin price since most Asian already cash out Bitcoin in January or before because I believe only big Litecoin investors can crash the market.

that's exactly what It's . The state of mind and fear are the ones that make the market dip most of the time not the actual news .
People start spreading these rumours and predictions that are based on nothing but other peoples words . If everybody held their bags then the chinese alone won't be able to effect the market that much , It might dip a little but it wouldn't be really that big of deal if not for the panic sellers and people who listen to the rumours and other newbies advice.

It is expected to dump because these FUDs are done when CHarlie Lee himself twitted that there will no LITECOIN fork,which makes these people behind litecoin cash as scammers,they just want to use litecoin's name for their popularity but there is no official fork that will happen according to the founder of Litecoin.

I don't see any reasons for Litecoin to go up or down. It will probably grow just when other coins will start growing after we'll come back to the green zone stably

I don't think there will be a crash, cause there is a fork coming soon. I think it will go steady for few days and then rise again after the fork.

Litecoin is popular but has no real world purpose. It is just a tradeable coin that you can't do anything with apart from hope that someone else will want it. Ethereum and NEO are the ones that will rise this year, or other purposeful coins like LISK which has been billed as an ethereum killer and will release their product very soon.

Are you really saying this i dont think so because even today price of litcoin increased and it didn't happened even today because you said this statement yesterday. You must check where you find this news up. It looks like the market is starting to go up once again. Last year, the Chinese new year didn't have a big impact on Litecoin.

Anyway litecoin still has fallen dramatically relative to the Etherium. This coin must still grow in price, so we can't name this a strong growth and buy this coin. At the moment my choice is Etherium. Bitcoin I think will grow less than Etherium.

I think the price will maintain, the entire market has an uptrend so I think we are good here. We are going to hit 1 trillion dollars on coinmarketcap.

 :) i am not surprise as many people still doubt litecoin, but LTC is a viable alternative and serves me well during the btc and eth network congestion period. I still view ltc as a great propect going forward as it has better development roadmap now. Loking forward to ETC will do the same thing thia year.

Like you said, time will tell, however, a fork will always be a fork, but that does not mean it cannot still end up having some bit of usefulness in the community, even if it ends up as a shit coin as they all end up adding to the total market cap anyway. However, anything can happen, Litecoin is looking good and strong as well, so I do not see any reason why it should get dumped hugely for now, but like I said, time will tell, nothing is predictable in the crypto market.

The first thing you must remember ethereum congestion caused by first dapps runs on ethereum network while it can't be done on the litecoin network.
the second thing this is a hype due to the lightning network and litepay. Some people are still discussing about that and the fork coin of litecoin is not officially launched by litecoin team.
Consider charlie is still actively developing litecoin itself.

Agree. Any coin that goes up in a big way will be dumped soon after its pump. That is just the nature of the market. Pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered.

Litecoin even have some good stuff going for it right now, most especially with the payment system and I want to believe that should cause some rally for this coin after showing some strength for some days now and looking like it is going to be testing some new ATHs.

We cannot always be 100% right though, but I am seeing this coin hit a good target before selling, but not without the stop loss on.

I do not know why some people are even attaching the whole holiday to cryptocurrency when they hold a few percentages of the cryptocurrencies when compared globally. Moreover, what has the holiday even gotten to do with anything? Market is looking good, we are not sure if the wide correction of the market is over, but at least, it looks like there is still a little bit of hope right now, so let's see how it turns out.

Pure guess work based on nothing, I totally agree with you. Apparently, one of those guys who just like generating FUD on everything. Sure, we cannot dispute the fact that anything can happen, but what is the point of him coming to tell us there is going to be a big dip, when the market is saying otherwise. I am sure even if he can analyze the charts right now, which I totally doubt he can't except for guessing around the thread, he would know there is really nothing that depicts any crash on litecoin right now.

Yeah agree with you all the crypto currency price chart are exactly moving according with the price chart of bitcoin so litecoin also following the same.But litecoin is one of the future coin so it is better to get that coin when it is available for cheaper.
But I will never agree that litecoin will go down to big dip because it is the one of the most stable crypto currency even when compared with the bitcoin so it is not possible to lose its value in the future.

It is normal that when people cash out then we face a little bit panic because with this the price fall happens in the market the demand and supply forces can measure the currency value because these forces can decide the currency future May this become false that people will cash out lite coin but some new people will also buy lite coin as they may wait for this time when they look the price fall they will come to buy lite coin for holding.
