Title: Bitcoin watch or necklace bling Post by: Bboy360 on September 16, 2013, 09:15:54 PM Someone should make a watch/braclet or a LCD you can hang from a chain that shows the amount of bitcoins you have. That would be sweet. I don't have the time to put this on kickstarter or anything, but please some do and give me a shout out. This is great bling, without having to buy stupid diamonds or anything. And no-one is gonna rob you at gun point with this bling.

Or bullet proof/kevlar? Title: Re: Bitcoin watch or necklace bling Post by: Welsh on September 16, 2013, 09:29:56 PM Reminds me of the fill "In Time" displaying how long they have to live on their wrist. I think it's a good idea. However, I believe not many people would want to be waving that around. Firstly because it makes their home & computer a target to thieves and many people are uncomfortable showing how much money they have.
I wouldn't say criminals wouldn't point a gun at you. I'm sure they would if they knew it would get you to open your computer and give them the Bitcoin. This is a very dangerous piece of kit and could cause a lot of trouble. But, on the other hand, so is carrying cash and waving cash around. So, I don't see too much of a problem. But, you certainly aren't exempt from criminals. Title: Re: Bitcoin watch or necklace bling Post by: greyhawk on September 16, 2013, 09:32:31 PM I love the idea. Let me give my baseball bat a particularly good shine in anticipation.

Title: Re: Bitcoin watch or necklace bling Post by: Bboy360 on September 16, 2013, 10:26:59 PM Same can be said of people wearing $100k earnings or other jewelry. At the club you want people to know how rich you are. Any amount of risk is worth picking up hot chicks. I'd feel a lot safer with a $200 necklace showing that I have 100k bitcoins than a $100k diamond chain around my neck. What do you think is riskier? I'm not suggesting everyone do this, but it's a great way to be a baller without having to hire extra security.

I had no idea that such attitudes existed outside of the fantasy world of TV and movies. I had no idea that such attitudes existed outside of the fantasy world of TV and movies. I'll admit to being shallow, I have no problems with that. I can pick up chicks with my good looks, gamerscore, and breakdancing skills, but many people pay money to look good. Why does a handbag cost $50,000? Why do some cars cost 10k while other a mil? People buy expensive stuff to impress people. I don't want to get into the moral aspects of this, but people buy stuff to show that they're richer than the next guy. This is a great way to show that you're richer than the next guy, but you don't actually have to buy anything and it's not physically on you. I guess bank of america could also come up with a necklace too. It would just be a lot cooler if it were bitcoins. Also you would have to make it so you couldn't copy the necklace and you couldn't put a fake number up, but that's a given. All that stuff can be worked out. |
