hi, can you suggest what altcoin is the best for short term trading? because i wanted to trade other altcoins while im holding some other coins.

In my opinion, it is better to invest ethereum alone. The price of ethereum is relatively stable, normal transaction speed. With the existence of a special platform ethereum, of course salk Ethereum transactions become easier. Already many investors who joined in the project ethereum. Short term trading is dangerous and I don't think it is the best way of getting money.
However, I can advice you to take a look at "Hertz", it's a token on the bitshares blockchain, the price is programmed to vary in a sinusoidal way. It's possible by being backed by BTS.

The best thing for short term trading is -  with margin trading, it available on polo (x2.5), bitfinex (x3) and bitmex (x100 or even more). Polo has low fees and comfortable interface, so u can trade ETH, BTS, MAID, LTC,DOGE on it, but be careful with margin calls.

Short-term trading is not what I recommend. The following coins have a firm basis and good teams behind them. Whether they will succeed for sure is impossible to say. As always, do your own research. This is not financial advice.

The coins I have researched and found to be worthwhile are:

ETH, ADA, XLM, XRP, ENG, EOS, ARK, DRGN, MTL, POLY, QSP, NEM.

The best from my list are STRATIS, Waves, EOS, Credits, Cardano, NEO, OMG,Wings.

I would suggest cardano, because it is affordable for all range of people. Next neo is expected to grow good. Litecoin has been showing signs of good growth and it is expected to grow high once after the fork which is under schedule. On the whole Eth seems to be the best, because it is gonna be the best coin for the ongoing year.

I believe the most valuable crypto-assets are the ones who will be used by major firms, who are already creating value, in 2018. That's why I'm heavily invested in VeChain and Waltonchain. Secondly, platform tokens will definitely gain value the coming years, so you should think about investing in Ethereum, Icon, NEO, and so on. Spread the risk.

Market is down now. For trading now, you should choice best coin. Don't choice dead or inactive coin. You can choice top 20 coin from coinmarketcap. Neo, trx, ltc can be good choice.

I think ethereum has a really low price now, and according to price charts, I think expecting good gains from ethereum doesn't be illogical. Of course the choice is yours, but I think it has a great potential to reach good prices again.

The coins and tokens that show good promise. Once you do the research yourself you should find a proper altcoin to invest in..
But it's not a black and white issue, there are certainly exceptions. For example, if the technical team looks committed to the project (Linked in etc profiles loudly showing their involvement in the project) and if the whole ICO looks very well organised like in Multiversum ICO, then it probably means they are in the long haul.

Short term trading is very dangerous. It's better conduct mid-term strategy buy-and-hold. For buy and hold strategy I would suggest Ethereum, looks like we passed the dip. Also Fusion (FSN) is performing great even on bear market - already x3,5 from ICO price. POA and Wanchain blockchains will hold their value in ETH and BTC also

I agree on these coins. In general, recently I try to reduce the number of coins and leave only the most reliable ones.

I suggest the altcoin that you should have is STELLAR LUMENS (XLM), because the coin is stable in price.

My suggestion is altcoin with high liquidity, because liquidity is that you need for trading. If you choose coin without liquidity,then it is more likely for long term investment.

Short term trading is very risks you should have had a time management for you to earned profit. Looking on coinmarketcap and do searching is really helpful for you to decide in which coins to trade as short term only.

ETH is a second best altcoin after BTC , and this altcoin is so promising where ripple is a best for short term trading.

short term trade is a bit of a risk in my opinion. the cryptomarket volatility is a benefit when you make the right call but at the same time a diasaster when you made the wrong call. I think infrastructural platforms are the best play for trading, especially platforms that dapps get built on. here are a few. ICON, Stratis, EOS, DRGN, WAN.

BnB does not have much practical usage. I think Bitcoin Cash has bigger user support.

All the altcoins price is very low because all coins faces only downtrends recent days. So its better to buy some altcoins and save the coins for future. The first coin is Ethereum, it is the best coin to invest for long term to get better profits. It is next powerful coin in the coinmarketcap after bitcoin. So it has a bright future in upcoming days. Other coins such as NEO, Ripple,Waves, Stellar are also good to invest and these coins show their good growth.

In my opinion, Ethereum is superior to other altcoins.

You can't judge which coins are good for short-term trading and some others for long-term trading. It depends on the market situation, some time it is suitable to do short-term trading and some time it is for long-term trading. I would suggest you follow the chart well of some coins and decide yourself, what to do.

Maybe ripple if you are looking for a long  term, it can easily double it's price in less than two months.

Indeed, it's amazing how many individuals here think posting "buy low, sell high" is laying down some deep thought for the community.  I see it over and over.  It's almost as bad as "don't gamble more than you can afford to lose".

Anyhow, my favorite altcoin wallet is Coinomi.  I've not had a problem with it, it's easy to use, and there are a lot of coins it supports.  They also have Shapeshift built into it, so it's fairly easy (if you're not a US resident) to switch between coins.  One of the best features of it is that you can adjust network fees, which something that really should be standard for a wallet but isn't for a lot of them.  Best coins it supports are Dash and ETH.  Those are by far my favorites, and lately they've been offering a good opportunity to make some money.

Stay away from thinly traded coins, the likes of which are traded on sketchy exchanges like yobit.  The markets for such are so thin that it's near impossible to get sell orders filled.  Stick to coins with very liquid markets, which means the bigger named ones (Litecoin, Dash, ETH, Monero, etc.).
