HODLING the following alt coins which I believe are all great projects: -ICX -Dragonchain -WaBi -Enigma -Sub -Enjin Coin -POE -bounty0x -UTrust -Medibloc -Linda And portfolio is still stuck in 50%. I thought things will get better in February but still not able to see any green. ??? What can I do? Making me want to give up and sell. I don't know how long more to wait from here. If you think the projects are great, don't just watch the price, see what developments are coming out in the coming months etc, At the moment its BTC time to grow, then Altcoins will follow - then there will be a correction. Post by: Legion13 on February 20, 2018, 03:28:08 PM Currently most of the money is flowing into Bitcoin since its going up. As a result you won't see a lot of gains in your Alt-coins. The USD value of the Alts is stagnant which correlates to their drop in BTC value. The last market crash has caused a lot of Alt-cons to drastically drop in its value due to a lot of FUD. But you are lucky you have invested at the right time. Its like a 50% sale from their all time high prices. Once BTC attains a stable value which I hope so, the money should pump up a lot of Alt prices. Its a cycle that repeats usually. Everything depends on Bitcoin.
My portfolio went from $10,000 to $3000 and now its at $5000. I am not worried since I will be holding the coins for a long time. You might also consider rechecking your portfolio and look for some other coins such as NEO, VEN, NANO, PRL etc. But since you say you are okay with the above ones then it might go well for you since I believe you have gone though their whitepapers. You may check each project updates for you to know if their is development and if its worth hodling coins. I liked on the above list coins are icx, dragonchain and utrust, I believe it will grow its value in the coming months.

Without any knowledge of the coins you are holding, chances are that more then half of them will fail. With a little luck 1 or 2 will make you happy enough to compensate for the others. If you are dependant on the money you've put in to survive then this is a huge mistake, timing of altcoins is also critical, while BTC is running strong it's typically best to hold BTC over the top coins, I only invest in new projects with low caps during a time like this, once things sway you'll see more value climb in the top alts. You can see the profit in a long term with your coins if they are undervalued right now. The most of the privacy coins are undervalued right now. The best opportunity is to find a privacy-related project with a low total supply (less than 100M), that way the price will be increasing much faster. And it doesn't mean that if you have a lot of coins means you can have a big profit within a month, since ICO's admin also need to find more investors, and it takes time to have a deal with big people. The market is still recovering from this drop. You bought on very high, the market recovered just 50% of losses from the date you bought, so what do you expect? Lets talk of 6 - 12 months of hodling and you will make a killing of you profit but always take not of Jan/Feb dips that happen almost every single year. Keep hodling and dont be enticed when it moons with a lttle percentage. Stretch yourself and hold till you can afford a Lamdo with your profit ::)

I'm not so sure about that strategy, what I mean is when you select good coins then you do not need to watch them everyday or to try to be on top of everything that happens, but when you buy coins that are new or are not as solid then you need to check them everyday after all those kind of coins can skyrocket or can crash in a matter of days and in some cases even hours, so while your advice makes some sense it is not something that can be applied to all coins.Without any knowledge of the coins you are holding, chances are that more then half of them will fail. My thought was that the OP should have at least half the portfolio in BTC to catch the next move up to 20K plus which should come by mid-May, and that then profits can be put in good altcoins for their large rises after that along with the altcoins already held - and thought profits from the altcoins should be put into BTC or a fixed price coin or fiat before the crash that will follow to a higher low. They, although have less room for growth, are also a lot more stable and wouldn't crash as hard as the small and mid caps in a correction. Also they are a lot more liquid when it comes to selling. What I would suggest you do is take a look at some large caps, Hshare, EOS, etc. and sell some of your small caps into it. Don't liquidate your portfolio yet, since there is really nothing to lose. As you know the market is subject to season fluctuations and the main waves are observed in spring and in autumn. I don`t think that we might see strong growth in summer cause all the major and big investors will be having rest in the warm and sunny places. So If there is no confident growth in spring months, in this case, we must wait and hodl our coins until the autumn time.

I think I just came across of that coin increasing today. The key to seeing profits on the coins you are hodling is to be very patient.

Some of them are already listed and making names in the market. Well, rhere are many ways to see the profit you can make. If you are eager in knowing, you can do daily trading. Surely, you can earn a great profit considering your portfolio. But, if you can wait long enough and wish to have a greatwr profit, then you can hold them for a while and watch their prices in the market. Either of two, surely, you already made a profit.

You're not alone brother because the market was really down since the year started and many had cut their loss even they know they shouldn't be doing that. OP shouldn't be expecting an instant profit here unless he do day trading but when he just hold he should have more patience to see some decent profit. In short, it can come any time, you would have to look for specific indexes for short, mid and long-term profits.
