Title: EtherDelta vs ForkDelta
Post by: Crasengover on February 20, 2018, 07:43:56 PM
Just a week ago I found that EtherDelta has been forked and the new DEX is called ForkDelta. If has open sourse and uses the same contact as EtherDelta. And while ED has a lot of performance issues now, ForkDelta works perfectly. What are your thoughts about the new DEX and which one of them will win in this duel?

I think Forkdelta will win, but I don't trust this exchange yet. Now so many exchanges that Forkdelta will be difficult to compete. I think Cobinhood nice exchange.

I don't think there is a big difference in between them. Forkdelta will carry the same problems as it comes from the same bases. As a result, it may be seen as faster than the lack of transaction intensity and the lower number of users in the beginning, but it is unclear what shape it will take after this.

Forkdelta is obviously better in any way then etherdelta. You don't need to create an order several times as on etherdelta. And it is actually not blocked for some countries as etherdelta, and you don't need to use VPN.

this might just a fishnet that will be caught us in the middle of the ocean of trading market.
Is there any news or announcement link for this? wanna read it first before trying it. hacked of ED before was really scary.

The only information i found is this blog:
https://www.reddit.com/r/EtherDelta/comments/7odsni/i_forked_etherdelta_forkdelta/

So until they use the same contract as EtherDelta it looks ok, but they plan to change it when they get enough users. So let's wait and see what happens next.

There =is no official statement regarding the forked website so it has higher chance that this forkdelta could be a scam, because if some fork happened to etherdelta surely the owners would have announced it already which we see didnt happened .Forkdelta is looking good but i really doubt its credibility might be the bigger issue.

After reading the comments I think I have come to a conclusion that forkdelta is better than etherdelta although I never used this site yet. Is this a new site? I'll probably start using it later on.  Etherdelta is not that bad actually. But if it's true that forkdelta is better than etherdelta, then I'll use it for sure. Thank you for sharing!

Forkdelta may be better than etherdelta, but we need to be careful, it's because a lot of exchange is scam and very dangerous, maybe for now, etherdelta is much safer

Forkdelta is something new in our community, etherdelta didnt announced an forked website from them so we need to e vigillant because we might lose our coins if this forkdelta is just another scam website.Im sure that etherdelta would have announced if they created some alternative for now we should be careful with our trades, because if forkdelta got your  private keys you are all done.

I stopped using Etherdelta long time ago. I will be extra careful if I will use ForkDelta as well. The same problem can occur in it.

I do not use my main eth address to connect to these dex. Just like how I use another account in Idex. I spent extra sending tokens to that address but at least my main eth address is safe.

I didn't know about that, thanks for information. I can't notice any difference between them at the moment, but the fact that they have the same smart contract (i.e. order book) is awesome. Now we have some kind of choice if one of them has some issues.

Same here. I didnt notice such information about on a new DEX. I would really have the same words or observations as yours yet i dont see any differences but only on small changes on the interface.I dont know if i do trust it easily because if i have to choose i will stick with delta but well using up new exchange isnt really bad at all as long it can give its service without any problems then it would be worth to try out.

Forkdelta is something really new and we dont have much information about this website so i suggest that we should be careful using this exchange,it might be a better exchange than etherdelta but our security must come first, without confirmation from etherdelta it could be a trap or a phishing website that are getting our wallet informations without our knowledge, and we might wake up one morning and our wallets are all empty,so be careful.

Hm, I'd say that if I were in need of choosing between using VPN to access Etherdelta or access ForkDelta without using one, I would choose VPN+Etherdelta as in my opinion that way I would be at least sure that I won't lose all my money.
It's like choosing between riding a motorcycle in or without a helmet. In most of the cases, you'll choose the first option, cause everyone wants to be safe. But if you want to get some extra adrenaline and thrills, you can ride it without any protection 8). But what will be if something unpredictable happens? It's better not to think about it.
There is no doubt that Etherdelta is too slow and inconvenient now but on the other hand, it's way more trusted then the unknown fork, at least at the time being. From this point of view VPN don't seem like an unbearable inconvenience, right? :)

Wow, i've never seen an exchanger and especially a decentralized one being forked, but the real deal is that the new exchanger will win, it just needs more marketing, the new logo looks way better and if the dev team is quite active, we might see this new born exchanger in the first places in coinmarketcap exchangers list, it just needs some time!

It looks like a new trend. We've seen a wallet fork recently (MyEtherwallet and Mycrypto). Now exchange fork. It's interesting what would be next.
If things will go this way, maybe we'll see a tendency soon that everyone will consider it mandatory to make his own fork of every open source coin, wallet, exchange or another service so we'll have a million of coins, wallets, exchanges. And for the lazy ones, there will be some 'fork services' with a slogan 'we can fork everything you want. Every 10th fork is for free'.

- the transaction is fast
- very good for trade
- provide convenience with low fee amount.
- quality.

From what i have seen forkdelta seems to run a bit smoother , but that could be because they have less users at the moment. But like people say here be careful with new exchanges like this , only send small amounts at a time.

Yes, you're right about all that unprofessional acts and misunderstandings. That's not the way professionals should do. As for the fork question, MyCrypto team just took a code base from MyEtherwallet, changed logo, colors and that's it. New wallet is ready. Of course we'll see some differences in the future but for now they look like brothers. The same we see with Etherdelta and Forkdelta. These are the same forks by it's structure as we saw with past Bitcoin forks. Someone decides to do his own business, makes a fork, gives some promises and that's it. All what's left for him is wait and hope to gain some profit. :)

Ok I asked about the difference between the forkdelta and the etherdelta decentralized exchanges and here’s the response I got from someone who is well knowledgeable, I was told that etherdelta started charging  fees for listing  new cryptocurrencies which wasn’t done before and the members of the community decided to fork it, It's still using the old ether delta smart contract though
so the fork delta practically lists and new cryptocurrencies that apply without charging them fees for listing, also the user interface for etherdelta really sucks while that of forkdelta is cool.

So from the explanations above you see why forkdelta is way more advantageous.

The high level of advantages coming with FokDelta  doesn't mean in any way the high level of safety .
I think we should wait a bit before starting to trust it since the horrible lack of information about it ( PS : I am not devaluating FD , but I'd recommend that we ought to temporize a bit )

I don't like etherdelta, but sometimes there is no other way out. I hope, forkdelta will be not only "fork", but makes things better, otherwise it doesn't make sense.
In any case, you need to create a separate wallet for the etherdelta/forkdelta to secure your funds. Do not use the private keys of your primary eth-address on these exchanges.

I prefer Etherdelta the completely decentralized exchange has been updated and a lot of the annoying GUI bugs have been fixed at last. it looks like Zack, the main developer has been working tirelessly to make this decentralized token exchange very easy to use. see that the scrolling scrollbar bugs have been fixed, since the website originally loaded into a zoomed in mode, which you always had to zoom out with CTRL+Mouse Wheel, now this has been fixed. It looks like the price chart has been fixed, not only the decimal problem has been fixed but now the chart shows the date and time, and also a history of like 1 day but at a 1 hour resolution. This is much better. The pair names have also been fixed, now there is only 1 dropdown box for the name of the ETH asset, since obviously ETH will be the quote currency, so no need to have 2.

I don't think there will be any difference in between them because Forkdelta is just another rehosted version of the same interface used to interact with EtherDelta Contracts. I'm pretty sure it interacts with the same trades and contracts in progress but just from a carbon copy website. The fees of ForkDelta will go to EtherDelta, as the trades happen on their contract. EtherDelta's contract is solid A-grade work, backend is like a C+ range, frontend is an F.

We can't say for now because there is no official announcement if this ForkDelta is a legit trading platform for Ethereum or not. Better wait for  proper announcement and feedback before using it. If this is a trap, there is no way to get back your investment.

There is no doubt that the ForkDelta will win.
Because EtherDelta currently has a problem that is too large, I can't stand the platform, or even guarantee the security of our tokens, and the EtherDelta platform is no longer being developed.

ForkDelta is true decentralasied and it takes its niche. EtherDelta will die or will became centralised, because it is good brand and it can be used for standard exchange solution.  Now EtherDelta lost part of clients, whis start trade on Fork.

I prefer Forkdelta over Etherdelta, based on the number of cases that occurred on Etherdelta left behind Forkdelta. While the access speed of website display, Etherdelta often experience LAG when wanting to trade, while access from Forkdelta proved faster showing the value of buy and order. But if we see from the second view of the exchange, there is no significant difference, and the way to access the tokens that we will tradekan from both exchange is also the same.

Due to EtherDelta issues, people moved to IDEX and other exchanges, unaware of ForkDelta.

Because of that both EtherDelta & ForkDelta have insignificant trading volume and it doesn't matter who will win the race between them. The total trading volume is less than 2M/day. I myself (a single person) am making nearly 20% and more of that volume on other exchanges.

Just checked out ForkDelta, The design is similar to that of EtherDelta but I'm afraid to add an account due to what happened to EtherDelta in the past. Overall, It's an overhaul of EtherDelta though. One other thing I noticed is that the volume is kinda low. But shouldn't be expecting much from a starter exchange.

Nice idea let's make an ICO for that haha.

Anyway I think forkdelta is indeed better than etherdelta, even though I'd rather avoid trading on both those exchanges if I can.

glance between etherdelta and forkdelta looks similar from the available menus such as deposits, withdrawals, transfers and other menus to look the same but I prefer the Forkdelta display because it is lighter and more eye-catching and also has trading history, in terms of price I tend to use etherdelta because there the price is still better than forkdelta

I needed a lot of time to figure out the functionalities of both. There is not much difference. Forkdelta is a fork, nonetheless. You can't expect something outstandingly different.
IDEX is more traditional. If you are a novice, you will do less mistakes there.

There was a time when etherdelta was the best exchange among tokens erc-20 but now those days are gone. He is on the heels of forkdelta and the same idex which takes the top spot in terms of trades per day. It all happened when etherdelta cracked hackers and stole a lot of private keys from the wallets then it lost all the trust of all traders as the safest exchange. There is an opinion that the former owner of the etherdelta exchange manages forkdelta and the exchange itself is faster than the old one.

As much I'm wary about Forkdelta which truly appeared unexpectedly when Etherdelta quit settling their API issues for two or three weeks. Be that as it may, it would seem that their altogether different methods for publicizing their DEX stage on different internet based life have been a win. Many individuals who were at that point tired of ED began utilizing forkdelta. Their UI looks great and quick, while putting in a request it doesn't take long like it goes up against ED. there are often complaints about hacked accounts and website, where you need to put your private key to trade.
Also, there is possible to buy/sell other shitcoin, delisted and all other garbage currency. which is worth nothing.

I don't think there will be any distinction in the middle of them in light of the fact that Forkdelta is simply one more rehosted adaptation of a similar interface used to associate with EtherDelta Contracts. I'm almost certain it communicates with similar exchanges and contracts in advance yet just from a duplicate site. The charges of ForkDelta will go to EtherDelta, as the exchanges occur on their agreement. EtherDelta's agreement is strong A-review work, backend resembles a C+ go, frontend is a F.

See the difference ...

EtherDelta is a decentralized trading platform that lets you trade Ether and Ethereum-based tokens directly with other users. You are responsible for your own account, funds, and private keys. ... EtherDelta makes no guarantee about the tokens that you trade using EtherDelta. ( What a shit line about "makes no guarantee about the tokens that you trade" , how can a company said that?)

ForkDelta is a newly-launched decentralized exchange that offers many ERC20 tokens for trade and keeps adding new ones (free of charge). As the name suggests, this exchange is a fork of EtherDelta and uses the smart contract of the latter. ( I used forkdelta to find a very low value altcoins , I prefer forkdelta than etherdelta. )

Since those mayor problems that started to happen around Etherdelta, immediately when I found out about Forkdelta I started using it. I'm still using it and actually I'm very satisfied. Been checking how is Etherdelta doing from time to time, even though I love the new UI I still find it not showing every trade or orders. So Forkdelta still works better if you ask me.

I believe that ForkDelta is definitely better, since it works better and does not require VPN for its work. In general, it is good that there are such exchanges where there is no registration and verification function, which really makes them decentralized. Another advantage is that you can add tokens without payment. Yes, of course, the turnovers on these exchanges are not big but still they have a place to be. It will be very unfortunate if these decentralized exchanges will be taken care of and need to be verified and God forbid to pay for adding a token.

In fact, both options are good. But of great importance is the token itself, which you want to sell on one of these decentralized exchanges. In my experience, sometimes one does not have a specific token, sometimes the other. The same thing with the volumes. My advice to you. If you need to sell a token, first go to both exchanges and choose the best conditions for you.

I trust etherdelta more in my opinion, it is more secure now, but I think it is worth to look closely to ForkDelta, but with caution, now a lot of scams.
Of course, you are right about security, but I still think that today there is a great opportunity to evaluate the decentralized capabilities of our exchange for all reasons. I am sure that you understand what I mean.

I don't like both of them. Use Interfaces are obsolete, user experience isn't good either, volume is low. I think that IDEX and Switcheo is a much better choice. Especially Switcheo after adding ERC20 tokens.
IDEX is a nice another Decentralized Exchange, but sometime when want trade new token, forkdelta and etherdelta is fast for listing the token than IDEX and in idex market minimum trade balance is too high than other Decentralized exchange

ForkDelta and EtherDelta work almost on the same engine. Very often, the same rates that are on ForkDelta can be seen on EtherDelta and vice versa.
So there is no big difference between the exchanges. I trade both there and there.

Although both are decentralized, I prefer Forkdelta. As an advantage I know in terms of security, Auto login with a private key. And what I know has never been attacked by hackers, according to my personal knowledge. For the shortcomings only in terms of transactions, which is almost always error.

I think the are both basically the same in terms of functionality, features and mode of operations. I don't think there are noticeable differences except that one has operated for long than the other. Fork Delta, however, has a more organised and likely appeal and is beginning to look like the go to choice amongst traders. Personally, I prefer fork delta due to some terrible experience I had with etherdelta but like I said, there is no stark difference between the two.

These two decentralized exchanges have long been familiar to many people, but among them I always choose forkdeltha because it have a much higher interface speed and fewer bugs and crashes compared to the etherdelta.
Yes, that is good than the etherdelta but some people like me are using etherdelta from the beginning so they are familiar more to etherdelta and mostly stay on that exchange and sometimes on forkdelta. But because of the low volume I do not often like it. In recent times, forkdelta has moved into new domain and their server speed is also decent now. By having whatever pairs available on which exchange, we may decide to go for one of these exchanges. Having multiple options is always good as we can minimize our risk somewhat by trading in multiple exchanges.

ForkDelta will withhold victory in this fight. More stable and successful project. It hosts the bulk of all orders and there is a demand for tokens.
I use it constantly and there are no failures in work. So you can safely use this project, I am sure you will not regret it.

Then shortly after I heard about ForkDelta and I didnt know that it was a fork of ED.  ;D  If I were to base it on the Interface, I'd go with ForkDelta but generally, if I want a DEX, i'd go for Idex. I think the winner is Forkdelta, even though both of them use the same smart contract but in terms of performance Forkdelta is superior to Etherdelta. Even so, I rarely use these two exchanges, because if the Etherum network is busy it will take more fee to make transactions (fee is more expensive than central exchange).

Either should still be OK to use for smaller trades as there isn't that much liquidity remaining there and Forkdelta is probably the most popular but coinmarketcap has recently removed these DEX's as secondary markets which is a little disappointing but shows the trend now changing in favor of more regulated exchanges like IDEX

Etherdelta exchange compromise last year caused the lost of confidence of traders, so they seek alternative in folkdelta.Folkdelta came around that time also, it wasnt difficult as option. Now there are more decentralized exchanges that service better.
Soon these two exchanges will be dominated by Binance DEX once it's launch, the confidence of the people is high if we talk about Binance.
These two exchanges are the most popular now, I used both but lately I'm using ForkDelta if I try to buy some cheap tokens.
There is nothing to improve in the interface as simple is better, but the security has to be improve.

They are both trash and they will be forgotten once Binance Dex has started. When I was a new user in EtherDelta, I was very confused on everything like it's interface is for professional IT staff only to understand. It was slow also and you just keep refreshing whether your order is set or not. I am certain that the Binance DEX will never have those issues.
We can expect that as they have all the funds to develop a good Decentralized Exchange.
I can't wait to use the Binance DEX because I'd like to dump my shit coins, if they would allow. LOL.

Maybe it will be the solution for project that are longing to get listed and get some decent volume as this one might be free or with less fee.

The Stock Exchange Etherdelta and ForkDelta are, in my opinion, the worst of the decentralized trading floors on the current market. Everything hangs on Etherdelta, you need to constantly log in via VPN. Exchange ForkDelta slightly better in service.

These decentralized exchanges work only with the ether network. They fulfill their purpose that anyone can add their own coins. The ForkDelta now works better than the Etherdelta. At low gas prices, transactions on the Etherdelta end abnormally, but the commission for the transaction is still removed from the user.

After doing research, ForkDelta may be a great DEX to be park your ERC20 token here. Thanks for your hard work.  ;)

Fd may be more lighter and faster but i think fd is lacking of trading volume  .  also , not all erc20 coins and alts can be found on fd  .  fd is only a good alternative to ed but we still must prioritze ed because we can get more on ed .

They are not the worst dex exchange  .  fd and ed are pretty useful especially for a bounty hunters and airdrop hunters  because these dex exchanges are the first exchanges that will support their coins  .and there is no need to use a vpn to be able to access ed and fd  .

Good judgment for choosing ForkDelta over Etherdelta although both really does not have the volume.

Have you tried IDEX yet?

That one is better than the two based on my experienced.

I thought it wasn't too bad, I used an exchange from the past that was safe and there were no obstacles, there might be a bit of a problem when the site was experiencing maintenance.
I don't need to enter Exchange etherdelta have to use VPN, maybe that happens to you the problem of the influence of the connection or. Your internet signal

I don’t see much difference between the two stock exchanges. In essence, these are two identical platform conditions are also equal. There are a lot of different coins that have not yet been exchanged. Here you can buy different coins at a good price. I think that both exchanges are useful.

They are not stock exchange, they are crypto exchange, just so you know.

They are very useful for traders who wants to dump, and traders who wants to buy cheap, their volume is also not attractive as centralized exchanges.

Compared to Etherdelta, i find it more comfortable with Fork delta because the transaction confirmation seems to be very fast. Even with the fee, whereas the in Etherdealt they will charge a high fee for the order execution and when transferring the coins to our own wallet.

To clarify about both have built by the same person and look at the how wallet that used by FORK and DELTA. Both of platforms are using the same hot wallet and that can be confirmed of both are the same.
But this is not going right because that platforms look so terrible for me consider about how complicated even when you wanna do a single transaction.
IDEX looks a better platform than it.

Does both from the same people? That doesn't make any sense. Why do he need to fork his own DEX while both are still active? I think someone else has forked forkdelta.

if I prefer a forkdelta because I often trade there, and the standard costs are not too high, but if I see the second pertukarang between forkdelta and etherdelta it's like the same but I still doubt etherdelta

I can understand comparing etherdelta and forkdelta but i don't understand why people trying to add idex into this comparison. Idex is only a semi-decentralized exchange so it is not comparable with both.

After getting hacked and making an unnecessary ico i stopped using etherdelta and using forkdelta. Also, want to add this because of older comments, they are using a contract, they don't have hot or cold wallets.

Well, both have the same designed platform, when you open their interface platform they also both requiring the users give private key and Ethereum address, which I think its too dangerous if We import our private key to their platform exchange, that's was Etherdelta faced the issues
before. Though DEX was still good but not on this two exchange platform.

Are these websites working well? I have the impression that no one supports them anymore and that their operation is questionable.

Forkdelta will convey similar issues as it originates from similar bases. Accordingly, it might be viewed as quicker than the absence of exchange force and the lower number of clients before all else, Etherdelta isn't that terrible really. However, on the off chance that the facts confirm that forkdelta is in a way that is better than etherdelta, at that point I'll utilize it without a doubt. Much obliged to you for sharing. Im sure that etherdelta would have declared on the off chance that they made some option for the time being we ought to be cautious with our trades, because if forkdelta got your private keys you are completely done.

Both etherdelta and forkdelta still working? Wow… I thought they are dead now. Who even trades there? For me it was always a place to trade received crappy bounty tokens. But since number of bounties has decreased, and those who are left barely pays, what people trade on these two dex ? And who trades there, when there is uniswap?

Both have been working for a while now, but I think among them forkdelta works best this is because I used to hear people saying a particular token is listed on Forkdelta more than I hear about Etherdelta. Also, there are cases where a token will first get listed on forkdelta, at least some of the 2018-2019 projects listed on forkdelta gained a little growth and moved to other exchanges.
Additionally, in terms of user interface, I can say both are found wanting in that aspect as it takes a bit of experience to actually trade there. Talking about volume, speed, withdrawal and trading fee, they are both in the same category. And lastly, you must know the contract address of that specific token in order to trade on any of them.
From all these I can say that, both really served a good purpose then and currently with the high level of expertise in centralized exchanges, little attention are being paid to them nowadays.

I have been to that both decentralized exchange but I am more confident and had gone good in forkdelta. I do believe so that forkdelta has more users or projects that has been listed compared to etherdelta. I do not know but basing on the platform on which had been established first then I do believe that it was etherdelta. However, again as I had mention above that forkdelta is better compared to etherdelta that is base on my experience using both platforms.

Yet, there are other good decentralized platforms here that had been implemented and are also being successful like the uniswap. If Uniswap was being included in the pool then my vote will goes to uniswap of course. Fully decentralized and you can earn from the small amount of percentage you can get basing on the amount being swap in their platform.

Yes? I don't see the difference between them, I used etherdelta very often before, but then after a while I stopped using it because the bounty became not profitable. But I used both forkdelta and I did not see the difference
