Title: Provide information and receive merits from the most stupidest member.
Post by: digaran on February 21, 2018, 03:25:34 PM
At first this idea of mine made sense, not anymore. I'm not supposed to generate more workload, more posts, I should merit the posts of members as I read them. however if you have the step by step tutorial on LN, PM me and receive 17 instant merits. but this task and reward thing is over. why would I merit people for helping me? why should you get easy merits by providing me with information? I agree with the services with Bitcoin logo etc, but giving me information on LN is something I should find on my own. but I will find the user rajurathod18's posts worth meriting and will do my best to make it fair for him/her. since it was my own stupidity to promise 17 instant merits for this task. I will try my best to give him something deserving. I will post a quote of PM he sent me with the step by step tutorial on LN below the task.

Hello, I am one of the most reputable merit sources (I'm lying, with something public as merit stats, there was no reason for theymos not to give me hundreds of sMerits, any abuse from my part could have resulted in Deleted/Off-limits/Ignored, I would put it on theymos being busy and overwhelmed by the work and say that he didn't think about this too much).

Edit April/10/2018: I didn't know at that time that when you delete your post, it shows Deleted/Off-limits/Ignored. I assumed it was the moderators deleting those posts along with their merits.

We need a sticky in meta for merit, ranking up is now up to 80 people, they need one place to go to check for the members in need of merits to rank up.
How many stickies do we have containing all the rules and information about everything? and how many threads do we have asking the questions with their answers already in the stickies? either make a child board in meta for merits or a sticky.

I would like to ask any member of this forum in need of merits to rank up, have 30 posts more than your activity points, provide me with information, answer a few questions like how many walkers have you killed, or how many people have you killed and why? make sure to be connected with your real IP, so that theymos could call the police. lol.

How could I open a lightning channel? if you provide the information needed to open a channel, you will receive 15 merits just for that (I don't have more than 15 right now) I will then beg theymos for sMerits to send to you after viewing your posts (if they are merit worthy).
I could give you a task every week, anybody could reserve a spot, if you have 30 more posts than your activity points and need merits, reserve a spot by posting, then update your post with the information. everything about merits is public, I want to help @theymos, I would only help people if they know some basics of crypto. how many members I could help would depend on how many sMerits you would give me.

Disclaimer: I haven't yet merited anybody seriously as a merit source, because the initial source merit you gave me was considered as an insult, really it felt like an insult.

Task: Find at least 500 empty blocks in Bitcoin's blockchain after block #500,000 and post the block number. E.g: block #459000 #459320 #462000. hint: the first empty block after block #500,000 is block #500,044 what I want is just like this: #500,044 #500,140 etc.

Reward: 4 instant merits. goes to the first person posting with the correct formatting.
#500,044 #500,140 #500,342 #500,374 #500,394 #500,929 #501,124 #501,252 #501,304 #501,588 #501,676 #501,726 #501,728 #501,853 #501,901 #501,915 #501,990 #502,051 #502,126

From #500,000 to last block (#512,278), there are only 95 empty blocks

edit: there are 98 empty blocks

Task: Find empty blocks from block number #20,000 and #500,000. I want them sent to me via PM. I will put them on pastebin and will update my OP with a reference link.

Reward:
7 instant merits.

Note that, you'd need to reserve a spot and then complete this task, I don't want more than 1 member to do this, it would be a waste of your time since I wont merit 2 members for doing the same job. after completing this task, and sending the PM to me, feel free to update your post with the block numbers, for me to send 7 merits for it. if you don't know how to post something constructive, this is the next best thing to earn merits, even if you go posting garbage after getting merits from me, that's not my problem. you should be treated like any other member posting garbage. what is important for me is that I have given you merits for doing something and actually for doing it. if this data is already available somewhere, I'd appreciate it if you could tell me so that I could find something else to torture people with.

"To set up a bidirectional payment channel, both parties involved must first agree on an opening transaction. This opening transaction determines how many bitcoins each deposits into the channel.

Let's say Alice wants to send one bitcoin to Bob. Since Alice and Bob expect to transact more frequently, they decide to open up a bidirectional payment channel, and use this to send the bitcoin. (Sending a whole bitcoin is probably a lot for a payment channel, as these might be more useful for micropayments – but it's perfectly possible.)

To open the channel, Alice and Bob each send five bitcoins to a 2-of-2 multisig address. This is the “opening transaction.” Bitcoins can only be spent from this address if both Alice and Bob sign a subsequent transaction.

Additionally, Alice and Bob both create a secret (a string of numbers), and exchange the hash.

Alice now immediately creates a subsequent transaction from the opening transaction. This is a “commitment transaction.” With the commitment transaction, Alice sends four bitcoins to herself, and six bitcoins to a second multisig address. This second multisig address is a bit funky. It can be unlocked by Bob on his own, but only after 1000 extra blocks have been mined after it’s included on the blockchain; it includes a CSV-lock. Or, it can be opened by Alice on her own, but only if she also includes the secret for which Bob has just now given her the hash. (Of course, Alice has no idea what this secret is – she only knows hash – so there's no way she can make use of this option right now.)

Alice signs her end of this commitment transaction. But she doesn't broadcast it! Instead, she gives it to Bob.

Meanwhile, Bob does the same, but mirrored. He creates a commitment transaction as well, from which he sends six bitcoins to himself, and four to a funky new multisig-address. Alice can unlock this address if she waits an additional 1000 blocks, or Bob can unlock it with Alice using her secret.

Bob signs this half, and gives it to Alice.

After all this exchanging of “half-valid” commitment transactions and hashes of secrets, they both sign and broadcast the opening transaction, to make sure it's recorded on the blockchain. The channel is now officially open.

At this point, both Alice and Bob could sign and broadcast the half-valid commitment transaction they got from the other. If Alice does, Bob gets six bitcoins immediately. If Bob does, Alice gets four bitcoins immediately. But whomever signs and broadcasts the transaction will have to wait 1000 blocks to unlock the subsequent multisig-address, and claim the remaining bitcoins."

Medium, such as twitter or facebook, aren't crypto-related forum . My lame ico post? You don't know what we are talking about in that thread

This is an italian thread where all prepaid cards are shown. That card wasn't on the list so I posted it. I have no connection with that ico. And as I said before, I didn't know that a user could link sites that can steal users from this forum, I know that I can put links of ico website

OK, let me beg you all to stop. I don't want you to explain the lightning network, I want to open a channel, provide me with links to any site where I can use lightning network. I only need the links, when I ask for 20 hosting providers accepting Bitcoin, I don't want you to tell me what is hosting.

If I ask where can I buy Bitcoin, don't tell me to find an exchange and buy, give me links to the major exchanges. I want you to earn my attention, because  you would have to be a high quality poster to get merits after completing the tasks.

I've seen a few things saying that https://torguard.net are lightning network capable.
Apparently they were involved in the equivalent of bitcoins 'pizza' purchase.

https://lnmainnet.gaben.win/ This link contains a really trippy picture, which may or may not be the LN peeps (I think it is as i see that TORGuard is on there).

Hope that helps.

I already know about lnmainnet, I need to know the steps in order to become a node, use a channel. though you could come back to me when you have 200 posts and 150 activity, you must have 50 more posts than activity. I could move this thread to beginners & help with at least 200 links to crypto related services, hopefully it could become a really helpful topic for newbies, with the support of theymos, I could make this work.

I would give this a week, if I have received sMerits by then, I will make it official, if not, then it means that my help is not needed.

Anybody up for *7 instant merits? give me the step by step tutorial to set up a lightning network channel, step by step tutorial to set up a lightning network node and have not 50 but 30 more posts than your activity (that means if you have 50 activity, you must have 80 posts to be eligible) and receive 7 merits instantly. note that, after getting 7 instant merits, you'll be somebody else's problem.

I'm a merit source with 500 sMerits every month, **theymos is going to give me more in 3 days, if you call me a dev somewhere, I will give you 100 merits in one go.

*Thanks to our angry little Pinoy and don hillary, and little fella, I have 7 sMerits now.
**Most likely, he is going to remove me from the merit sources, or give me a few more to shut me up.

We need a sticky in meta for merit, ranking up is now up to 57 people, they need one place to go to check for the members in need of merits to rank up.

Actually we need a sticky to check for members who shouldn't be given merit to stop them from ranking up.

Title: Re: Provide information and receive merits from the most reputable source.
Post by: digaran on March 05, 2018, 02:26:27 PM
Good news for you all. have a lol for now. if you'd like to receive 5 merits from me, post 50 links to sites and services with Bitcoin logo a.k.a any service accepting Bitcoin. I know there is an easy way to do this, but you'd still need to copy and paste 50 times.
All of the services must have SSL certificate. you should post them like this: Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org). I will not accept any name with the extension like .org, .com etc.
Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org)
Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org) Bitcointalk (https://bitcointalk.org)

Post them just like me.
Task: Post 50 links to sites and services with Bitcoin logo a.k.a any service accepting Bitcoin. not the ones already posted here.
Reward: 5 instant merits. and no chance of receiving more, I only have 11. I will create another task for the remaining 6 later.
Requirements: you must have 30 more posts than your activity. E.g; if you have 50 activity, you must have 80 posts to be eligible for 5 merits.
I would like to merit dozens of posts, unfortunately I'm just a source with 11 sMerits. I would merit random posts from my own merits and not my source. (what was that? why am I taking this so serious? 11 or 11000. quality of my work remains the same. it is an honor serving you beggars).

Title: Re: Provide information and receive merits from the most reputable source.
Post by: khongbietgi on March 06, 2018, 07:59:24 AM
Hello, I am one of the most reputable merit sources (I'm lying, with something public as merit stats, there was no reason for theymos not to give me hundreds of sMerits, any abuse from my part could have resulted in Deleted/Off-limits/Ignored, I would put it on theymos being busy and overwhelmed by the work and say that he didn't think about this too much).

We need a sticky in meta for merit, ranking up is now up to 57 people, they need one place to go to check for the members in need of merits to rank up.
How many stickies do we have containing all the rules and information about everything? and how many threads do we have asking the questions with their answers already in the stickies? either make a child board in meta for merits or a sticky.

I would like to ask any member of this forum in need of merits to rank up, have 30 posts more than your activity points, provide me with information, answer a few questions like how many walkers have you killed, or how many people have you killed and why? make sure to be connected with your real IP, so that theymos could call the police. lol.

How could I open a lightning channel? if you provide the information needed to open a channel, you will receive 7 merits just for that (I don't have more than 7 right now) I will then beg theymos for sMerits to send to you after viewing your posts (if they are merit worthy).

Task: How to open a LN channel? step by step guide to become a node, and use the lightning network.

Reward
: 7 instant merits. with the chance of receiving more, depends on administration.

Task: Find 20 hosting services where you could pay with Bitcoin, post 20 links.

Reward: Receive 5 instant merits.
Most of the provided services had Bitcoin logo.

Task: Post 50 links to sites and services with Bitcoin logo a.k.a any service accepting Bitcoin. not the ones already posted here.

Reward: 5 instant merits. and no chance of receiving more, I only have 11. I will create another task for the remaining 6 later.

Special thanks for the contributions of these 7 merits:
Forum's angriest Pinoy a.k.a The pharmacist.
Forum's global moderator a.k.a don hillary.
Forum's fella a.k.a TMAN.
And of course the ones who merited me recently.

I'm smarter than you, I've told you that posting simple links is not accepted, one other thing, you must have 30 more posts than your activity.
Please quote me to see how you could make it acceptable. anybody posting these already available links by these 2 members above in proper format, would get the merits. you two, could delete your posts or leave them be. I have them saved for myself.
Note, I don't want your posts to be long, please follow my example. however I will properly format everything and will post a new topic with just the links or would ask Lauda to put them all on her sticky in this section.

If I could show theymos that I have merited people for something useful, I might receive more sMerits in the future. having more of them, I could remember your contributions and reward you with more than these small amounts. I'm planning to stick around as a source and help for a long time. I don't really have anything to show to the forum administration other than proving to them that I am not throwing merits randomly at people.

PM me the links with the following format:

Maybe if you had just spent a couple of minutes reading the requirements you would have saved yourself the 6 hours.

Requirements: you must have 30 more posts than your activity. E.g; if you have 50 activity, you must have 80 posts to be eligible for 5 merits.

From what I've seen so far not spending enough time reading before posting seems to be the biggest obstacle to most Newbies and Jr Members gaining merit.

Ha ha, I see the guys rushing and struggling just to get the Merit asap without reading the whole thing.
I really like this kind of services because the newbies have to dig a little and learn something new and helpful, like the LN task. Cool sooo..

Let me add some more drama to the post, if digaran is OK with it, I will add 2 more Merit to the winner!
I'm tired of reading through all the shitpost just to find someone deserving, and I have 2 sMerit left.

Problem with the whole low quality posts, having merits as requirement for ranking up. is at display on this topic. you were asked to do something properly. instead some of you had to be sloppy with your job. every merit source would like the same thing, either follow the instructions given to you or when you are posting, make it useful, helpful, write in a nice formatting.
Here I didn't ask you to be like nullius, I just asked you to do it right, even provided some examples. despite that, some people didn't put the minimum effort, this is worse when there are no examples, no guidelines. I asked for 18 years old girl, instead a married woman and some old woman tried to fool me into jumping them with my eyes closed.

Before any of you beg me, read under my avatar. don't beg a beggar. thanks before lol.

I don't know how you did it, but I was given 2 extra source merits just now. I figured if some people don't know how to be nullius, they could at least do something other than posting in perfect English and still earn some merits.

He he, that's cool, well I did nothing but I will, as I said, give my sMerit / I think "s" stands for "sendable" instead of "source"/  to the winner of the last task.

Being like nullius is not an option here, even being 10% nullius is hard, this man is a legend, c'mon. His knowledge, expression and humor are far beyond the capabilities of the 95% of the users here /including me/.

There is no point for me making my own giveaway, coz I get only a few points from time to time so, better to use someone's service like yours and make the ones that deserve, happier :D

So my points go to ... Oygen.

Thanks a lot! This is a good day to get some merit!

Agree with Carisba, there is no 500 blocks, but its 98

And if the proper format mean this - then catch and use!

That's it for now. I even gave 1 merit to Oygen because of the extra work of providing each block with a link to the block explorer. Carisba, I just discovered that you have got some negative feedback from a DT member for copy-pasting unknowingly. I'm sure that you didn't mean to fool me with that post. it wasn't even what I was looking for.
If you could nicely ask ibminer to reconsider with his/her(what now? "her"?) feedback, because even if you were trying to cheat, that I would consider a constructive cheating. providing accurate and useful information, just not the info I was looking for.

It feels like that I am considered to be incompetent, as if that I couldn't tell the difference between a copy-paste and original information. if I had given him those 4-7 merits for his copy-paste post, I would be the one deserving a neg trust.

You undermined me by doing that, I was already an undermined merit source. I'm sure that Carisba misunderstood me about LN. right? tell them that you are sorry and ask for a second chance. thanks before.(a.k.a in advance).

Task: Find empty blocks from block number #20,000 and #500,000. I want them sent to me via PM. I will put them on pastebin and will update my OP with a reference link.

Reward:
7 instant merits.

Requirements: you must have 30 more posts than your activity. e.g: if you have 60 activity, you must have 90 posts. if you have 100 activity, you must have 130 posts. (shameless self promotion, I'm looking for some nice girl for the sole holy purpose of jumping. preferably 18 years old, with no parents, because I don't want to spend money here. I want an orphan girl in need of a place to crash for a few days. I could only offer her lunch and dinner, I would also gag her, I don't want my parents to find out).

Remember to lol before rofling.

Hey man,
I have an .csv file with all the blocks from #1 to #364164 and it's easy to list only the empty ones.
here is an example https://imgur.com/M1izZGM
Format is A: #Block B: transactions and so on..
Let me know if you are interested.
Regards,
iasenko

Hi! Thank you again for merits! I am a member now!

So, are there many participants with your new Task of empty blocks?

In my opinion it can be done in one day - with Excel table or a couple hourse with knowing some program code.

I can make it in a couple days after the weekend.

Any of you completing this task with the most highlighted empty blocks easily viewable either in Excel or .csv will receive the rewards.

I have generated a list with all the empty blocks. You can generate it yourself here : https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/blocks?q=transaction_count(1)
You have many additional options and filters to play with as long as you don't pass the 1 000 000 fields border, it's free. If you go over the limit you have to pay a fee.
You can export it in .csv format.

Nice work! I send the same information to the digaran today at 11:50:37 AM . Good site for finding such information!

I put empty blocks in this google table:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1QrAYhoSuJxnYkQHlrTuWpF02t0Diby2fuddNwpZCUgM/edit?usp=sharing

Its about 68.175 empty blocks from 20.000 to 500.000

I have zero need to know how many empty blocks exist, I have already asked if this data is already available and could easily be accessed or not. not only you didn't tell me that, you have used this publicly available data to fool me. lol. now none of you is going to receive any merits for this task. you didn't reserve the task, you were just busy trying to outsmart a reputable merit source.

I would've merited anybody who would've told me about a block explorer providing this data. what made you think that I need empty blocks? did any of you think about telling me that there is an easy way? or you just wanted to get 7 instant merits?

You think that an idiot could become a merit source? if you are smart, try to give me a step by step tutorial on LN. that's something I really don't know anything about.

The first file I sent you was collected block by block by algorithm of one of my friends when he was mining back in 2015. Then I found the this site after reading a few hours, it doesn't matter.

You give a task, you do not define clear rules, you get what you need and then you accuse people in giving you publicaly available information you "don't want" after they have made a research. Keep your merit.

I'm not fooling anyone and I do deserve an apology.

Looks like that I have to apologize for not putting this quote above in to my OP, because I couldn't blame you for not reading 4-5 previous posts and spending 5 minutes to avoid wasting hours of your time. I would make it up to you by reading your posts and spending my source merits on them. remember that I am a merit source for one reason, which is to encourage the good ones to stay here and have them as assets to the community. I would never dare to let your efforts unnoticed.

Well, at my personal message I wrote you about this site - https://blockchair.com/ - so I didn't try to fool you. I have found it only couple hours before I send it to you with the google table. Please read my message.

Your tasks really can help interested people to get some merits, so we will wait for other tasks.

Apology accepted,no bad feelings here. I do agree that I did't read the whole thread, but hey I'll use those points I got in a good way for sure.
