I follow this coin for awhile and truly believe it has potential but after this re ann I can say the dev team of this coin really dont know how to do the marketing. Almost same thread with the old one. Why not add more pictures and listout the feature that you guys have on road map to catch the new adopters. Many people just glance at the main thread of the project and decide right away if they want to get into the coin or not. They do not bother clicking on the links you provided on main thread. Also u guys need someone to regularly update the development status of the coin in here too to pump the thread up, not just only in discord.

Hello, thank you for your recommendations, we recreated this ann post because the title of the ann did not comply with the rules of the forum concerning announcements, must begin with [ANN]. We will obviously improve the graphic presentation of this announcement and update it with our news.

Please answer this question. Why is the 4.5million coin pre-mine not disclosed in the ANN? Feels like you are trying to hide it! Is this a pump and dump coin?

It has a next generation pre-mine, unlike pre-mines of the past this one is both bigger and less transparent than your last generation pump & dump clone-coin. ScamCoin 2.0 just don’t mention it and hope no one will notice before you’ve had the chance to dump your huge pre-mine on an exchange.

We are working on a secure webwallet similar to MyEtherWallet for folks who have a system not currently supported by the 64 bit Windows/Mac Wallets.

It's amazing the amount of coins with the same algo recently, something special should be coming, especially with XMR! Why are new devs using the same rationale? I may be confusing myself, but this Alloy name is not strange, is there another XAO thread? Maybe I've seen in tradeogree, but why the delay to create a thread?

I don't see the use if we keep mining the same cryptonote coins over and over again.

As said before, we had to recreate a new ANN page to be in compliance with the rules of this forum. Our first blockchain was launched two months ago, and we unfortunately had to restart it from scratch. So there is a part of this premine that was used to pay back the old wallets. The other part is attributed to the bounties, exchanges, and development, we will publish a detailed note on this subject. To answer the dump, we have no interest in doing this, we have been involved in this project since the beginning, and after this coming hard fork, we will work to ensure that botnets and rental mining services can not more mine with our new pow algorithm because they are usually the biggest dumpers and this makes mining unfair for small miners.

Can you explain what makes Alloy unique from other cryptonote coins? What is the goal of this project that will set it apart and make it a valuable coin in the future?

Thanks  :)

Thanks  :)

Our next step is to build our own Cryptonight based mining algorithm to prevent botnets, malware, and rental mining services, this already makes us unique, but we will implement further improvements over time, our current roadmap is visible at http://alloyproject.org/#roadmap

But wasn't Alloy CryptoNight/CryptoNote even before? I'm mining it since some weeks with cryptonight algo... So what's the change?

I downloaded the new ver 2.2.0 and having this errore continuosly even if the balance seems to look correct:

2018-Mar-02 03:55:26.200844 WARNING CHECKPOINT FAILED FOR HEIGHT 15261. EXPECTED
HASH: 4009419ee181ef6ec47baaf7ab5bb2c5f251e0ddfd24af9eba6dfa77be01bec2, FETCHED

What to do? Does it need to be fixed in some way or should I just ignore it?
Thank you!

You can ignore those warnings. They are generated from the older clients on the network.

We are still on cryptonight but plan to move to a custom POW algorithm in the future.

At block 17500, we will activate the new miner fairness algorithm (new diff algo) to make it easier for smaller miners to compete with nice hash, etc.

If you are having problems with version 2.2, try re-syncing your block chain by deleting the contents of %appdata%\alloy and relaunching the wallet.

Your block height should match : http://alloyexplorer.com/

If you have a balance issue, it's easier to just help you live on discord -- https://alloyproject.org/discord

And the current block height is 16715, so if you are below that you should upgrade to version 2.2 and resync.

If you're talking about Trade Ogre the only pair for XAO is bitcoin. However it's cheaper if you send Litecoin to the exchange. Sell it for bitcoin, and then buy the XAO so you don't get hit with the high transfer fees if you're sending a smaller amount.

I like this project. The wallet looks great too!

However, there seem to be a name clash with another currency.

I'm assuming the project is not related to Alloy Coin (https://alloycoin.com). If not, it's probably not the best name. Simply Googling or searching using the search term "alloy coin" on for example YouTube leads to https://alloycoin.com in half the cases.

What happened to http://alloy.cash, which is linked to in the previous thread? Would it not be less confusing to redirect from this domain (which is 404'ing GitHub page) to the current site?

If you want to rise above the average, attention to details like this are necessary.

You are probably trying to transfer all of your 76 coins and you don't have money for the transfer fee. Try to transfer 75.9 XAO

If you have a lot of inputs, as you might from trying to send coins from many different mining runs, you will hit up against the max transaction size limits.  Spend smaller amounts.

I believe this is an issue earlier in a cryptonote coin's lifecycle, as the transaction limit increases over time, based on recent averages or something.

See "Adaptive Limits" on https://cryptonote.org/inside#adaptive-limits

Code:
2) Max block size. Let MN be the median value of the last N blocks sizes. Then the "hard-limit" for the size of accepting blocks is 2*MN. It averts blockchain bloating but still allows the limit to slowly grow with the time if necessary. Transaction size does not need to be limited explicitly. It is bounded by the size of the block.

### A Clean, Modern Cryptocurrency Data Site - In support of Alloy

**Background & Motivations**

I was really overwhelmed by all the cluttered sites for cryptocurrency data. It seemed to be a theme that if you wanted any information in the crypto space, you had better be prepared for a full on assault from a storm of ICO ads (probably why Facebook and Google dropped them). You could never just visualize data for the sake of data. And ultimately, I felt like crypto-data sites weren't built for the end user so much as they were for advertisers.

I wanted something **simple, clean and minimalistic** without sacrificing utility. I couldn't really find anything that fit that so I created my own tool. It's called AlloyIndex  - https://alloyindex.com (https://alloyindex.com). Alloy is our project's name and Index because we want to add a few indices (financial metrics) at a later point.

https://i.imgur.com/nsIRJQR.png

####AlloyIndex (https://alloyindex.com)
It's not perfect but I wanted to share it in the hopes that Reddit could help me find ways to improve it. It loads best on mobile and desktop--I'll add support for intermediate devices later. **What kind of features would you like that you can't get elsewhere?** Features for now are limited and honestly, most of the data you can find in other places (not claiming you can't). It's the appearance, presentation and most importantly *user experience* of that data I was primarily focusing on. But we do plan on adding more sophisticated data analytics tools to further distinguish ourselves at a later point, if it seems people are interested in AlloyIndex (ie. semantic analysis, social media mentions, auto-trading tools, portfolios/accounts etc.). I have a background in machine learning and natural language processing so I'm excited to apply some of those techniques to data in this space.

Any constructive feedback would be greatly appreciated! If you do end up liking AlloyIndex, feel free to use it :D. Overall, I hope you find useful if not at the very least easy on the eyes.

*Cheers,*

So I'm still having trouble sending XAO from one wallet to another. Is there a formula to follow to determine how much fee to pay per transaction? I keep getting a message that says transaction too big. Ha! I wish it was bigger.

I appreciate the patience it requires to help along a noob. I pay it forward.

Please help!

About cryptonight asic, we're waiting to see how the transition from monero to cryptonight v7 goes before taking a decision, which is certain we do not want to allow theses asic to participate in our mining network.

We should improve our roadmap / whitepaper and our goals visibility.

We are still around, and continue to think about the best way to fork and analyze how it goes for the others blockchains/community who already forked in different ways, we do not want to rush, for now the alloy project blockchain is stable and has no defect, which is rather a good thing. We want to be certain of the direction to take at the fork level of the mining algorithm. We are moving slowly, and are still here.

The time for your team to think is too long. Thinking is for faster action. From now on, what disappoints everyone is that the results of your long discussions did not have any action. Everyone is losing confidence. This is something that your team must know. Excellent teams compete with each other in time, and time is the right way to do things

We take our time, see that in the long run, no need for rush. + we want a better solution than a simple fork to avoid ASICs and play cat and mouse permanently ..

Another cryptonote privacy coin. Why do we need so many of these

Perhaps because diversity and competition are good for innovation?

What hash rate on new alloy miner compared old cryptoknight algorithm?

The hashrate remains the same With Alloy-Cryptonight you will get like 60% less hashrate also on the global network because there will be no more ASIC's and mining rental services (until these services add our algo); that will be more fair for the little miners, and at the same time we contact the maximum of developers so they add our algo to the most possible mining softwares.

Yet it still right, but after the hardfork you will get more xao with less hashrate, because the difficulty will be lower without asics or mining rental services.

Awesome project, when other exchanges are planned!  ;D
Altex added to our exchanges list https://alloyproject.org/#exchanges
We are not affiliate with any exchange, use them at your own risk. More exchanges will come.

If you didn't know there already was a project named "Alloy" and it has scamed. So, you've chosen wrong name to your project...
We are not affiliate with any other project named Alloy, here it is the Alloy Project.

anyone having troubles mining this with nvidia cards?
If you have any issue feel free to join our discord https://alloyproject.org/discord

Any words about hashrate ?
You will get like 60% less than cryptonight, same for everyone else, our alloy-cryptonight algo is heavy in that sense, also harder for the botnets and that is better for our network.

Our hardfork has been a success, without ASIC's, mining rental services and botnets, our network is now more fair for our miners.

If someone clones your exchange and runs it, how is that decentralization? Doesn't it just minimize the liquidity at your exchange as people don't trade at 20 spots simultaneously but rather pick the best one or two or maybe three?

Interesting question, it would be necessary to clone access only to share the same information, like the DEX, this remains to be studied.

Progress on the online/mobile wallet, it remains anonymous with cryptographic identification, no need for email to use it, your funds are encrypted and only you have access to them, you can also backup your private keys by downloading your wallet files.

Alloy is one of a few rare cryptocurrencies with true privacy - a feature that makes digital currency act like physical cash and be essentially untraceable. Alloy is created with high level of secrecy in mind, leveraging Ring Signatures to conceal sources/amounts transferred and make it highly resistant to blockchain-analysis attacks and general snooping.

Dear Community!

First I would like to thank to Alloy devs for this introduction of me. Probably it would be appropriate for me to tell you a bit about myself : I have a degree in economics - management and I have more than 10 years of experiences with managing small scale business companies and sports organisations. I am present in "cryptocurrency world" for about 1 year and a half. I started as observer, later as investoreven more later as miner and recently also as team member of projects. I have already worked as a team member of cryptocurrency named BanKitt Community. Unfortunately it didn't go too well, mostly due to lack of developers interest - if you want to know more take a look at BanKitt Community channel.

My job with Alloy Project will be to take care of all aspects of community management, promotion and expansion of project through crypto society. Be aware that my intention is to keep 100% transparency, and for that reason I will post official announcement about our progress every 2 weeks.

1. At the moment we are working on developement of mobile/web wallet. At the same time we are working on our basic infrastructure - 11 servers are almost ready to host new rpc nodes. After this is done we would like to focus on developement of our own decentralised exchange.
With my next announcement I would also like to give you some time frames, but please do understand that sometimes it is impossible to properly evaluate how much time some work will require. Have in mind that we are always working hard to deliver in expected time frames.

2. Good news is that we have been listed on new exchange. Lets hope this will add to trading volume and recognition of our project!
https://maplechange.com/markets/xaobtc?markets=all&column=name&order=asc&unit=volume&pinned=false

3. We would like to include community more, therefore we will create diferent kind of votings, where community can suggest and decide which directions our project should go. Please follow us on our discord channel - https://alloyproject.org/discord, where votings will be held. Tomorrow we will have our first poll, so stay tuned :)

4. We would also like to include community to help us with some work, so we can progress faster, and our developers can realy focus on developement work while other work is delegated to community. Of course we will reward all kind of community help.
First job is to spread our project through crypto community a bit more. For this purpose I would like to offer reward for anyone from the community who will help us get listed on any new cryptocurrency related social listing. Please contact me directly if you have any relevant informations. Hight of reward depends on importance of that particular listing.

So far we have been listed on :
https://coinlib.io/coin/XAO/Alloy
https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/alloy-project
https://www.livecoinwatch.com/price/Alloy-XAO
We have yesterday also been listed on https://coincodex.com/crypto/alloy-project/

You can also follow us on:
Blockfolio
DeltaApp
CheddurApp

5. It is very important to get new and fresh ideas from different angles, therefore we ask you to help us improve our project. Every suggestion from the community, which we will decide is usefull and will help us improve our project, will be rewarded with some amount of XAO. Please form your suggestions in organised way to make it easier for us to rewiev.

6. We created this mining emission graph, so we can better see and understand how our coins will be released into circulation.

cashbitca, our project is young, but we are slowly but surely working on its developement. We are still around and we stand behind our project, we are not hiding. We are ready for challenges to come.
We haven't passed the test of time, yes, but how could we if our project is only 6 months old...

I'm currently mining XMR and Graft with xmrig-proxy and some miners.
Someone can tell me if there a proxy version compatible with Alloy that I can use in my environment, without to change anything in my miners?

Dear Community!

First I would like to say that I am aware it is not yet 14 days from previous announcement. The reason for this premature official announcement is that I would like to fix dates of announcements on around 1st and 15th in month. Today is 15th, so you can expect next announcement around 1st July.

1. I am glad to announce that we have just released a cluster of remote Alloy nodes that you can connect to using the Alloy wallet. They bring the benefit of not needing to download the entire blockchain in order for you to check balances and/or make transactions.
You can check the live status of these nodes and also instructions on how to use them by visiting https://alloyexplorer.com/#/remotes

2. Our new release of xmr-stak version 2.4.5 has been tested with both AMD, NVIDIA (rx550, rx580, rx vega 64, gtx 1070) and CPU (celeron G3900, i7). It is working like a charm. Please test it and give us feedback.
You can download it at https://github.com/alloyproject/xmr-stak-alloy/releases

3. Our first vote about exchanges is completed. It seems we all agree that we need to concentrate on getting listed on one of "medium sized" exchanges. So far our bigest exchange we are traded on is TradeOgre with around 200.000$ daily volume.
I have made a list of exchanges I believe are appropriate and have started contacting them. List is as follows :
Low-end :
- Crex24 with daily volume of 150.000$
- BiteBTC with daily volume of 150.000$
- Stocks.Exchange with daily volume of 300.000$
- Trade Satoshi with daily volume of 300.000$
Mid range :
- Cobinhood with daily volume of 700.000$
- CryptoBridge with daily volume of 800.000$
- CoinExchange with daily volume of 1.500.000$
High-end :
- Mercatox with daily volume of 5.000.000$
- BTC-Alpha with daily volume of 5.800.000$
- Cryptopia with daily volume of 7.800.000$

I would also like to hear your proposals about which exchange do you prefer. You can take a look at exchanges here https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/volume/24-hour/

4. We would like to create Alloy Project youtube channel, where we will post short 1-3 min videos about every aspect of our project (general, mining, roadmap, team, exchanges ...). I would like community to play active role in this videos, therefore I am offering 1000 XAO reward for person who will create 10s long Alloy video intro, and 5s long Alloy video closure. Probably it is not necessary to mention that you have to use Alloy Project logo - apart from that, be creative! Out of all intro/closure received, we will choose the best one and reward the creator. Second and third place will also be rewarded for their effort with 500 and 300 XAO.

5. As I already said on our discord channel, simpleminingOS is for now only working with NVIDIA GPU. I got reply from simpleminingOS and they told me mining cryptonight-alloy is possible using ccminer-tpruvot-v2.2.6-cuda8.0 (PHI2 , Allium Support). AMD GPU mining on simpleminingOS is not yet available.
We will continue to cooperate with simpleminingOS untill also AMD cards are supported.

We are also working on ethOS, to make it Alloy compatible.

6. I have updated our initial bitcointalk thread post with new graphics, and I will need some little help from the community. When I put link around img it pushes img for 0.2 cm into right so now it is not aligned with picture below and above. Does anyone have any idea how to correct this?  take a look at it here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3002653.0  and tell us what you think! Apart of that little problem, I believe it looks much more professional now!

Keep following us and stay tuned for more great news!
Your Alloy Project team

Our new release of xmr-stak version 2.4.5 has been tested with both AMD, NVIDIA (rx550, rx580, rx vega 64, gtx 1070)

Working with 560, 570, 480.
Not working with 1080.

Nope. There seems to be too many variables.

BTW, I noticed my amd rigs periodically get video driver crashes. This almost never happened to them with other miners. Not that often definitely.

I know how to fix this cuda problem, but I need to see nvidia.txt file, I am not able to tell from my head... Just past configuration of 1 nvidia gpu so I can see all the variables, and I will tell you which one to change...

Ok, I believe you should change some variables in amd.txt... probably intensity setting, try reducing it significantly, and if you don't get any more video driver crashes, you can than try to increase a bit ... and so on untill you find the best stability/hash rate settings...

if wattman crashes, then you're pushing your cards too much. either try less intensity or less OC or you devolt a bit too much (mV).
note that despite the fact that you may have similar or the same gpus, it will be a miracle if they all work with the same settings and thus you have to config them one by one in order to achieve the most stable configuration (this applies in every gpu minable coin).

Exactly, and what is more... they will not work with same settings for every mining algorithm, because mining algorithms are different and put a bit different kind of "stress" on your GPU... And this applys also for cryptonight coins - because cryptonight is now many different algorithms (Cryptonight V7, Heavy, Light, Alloy), so for example you can mine cryptonight V7 with xx settings, but you get crashes on cryptonight-heavy with same settings ...

"gpu_threads_conf" :
[
  // gpu: GeForce GTX 1080 architecture: 61

    "affine_to_cpu" : false, "sync_mode" : 3,
  },

],

Try first change bfactor to 8, and run miner ... If this alone doesn't help try also reducing "threads" and "blocks"... once you can mine, play with "threads" and "blocks" settings to achieve best hash rate...

Once you succeed can you please share with us how much hash rate do you get per GPU for 560, 570, 480 and 1080 mining Alloy ... we would like to put this informations together, so all newcomers can get basic info about expected hash rate with particular GPU...

IF i remember correctly...

For 570 8gb (samsung), bios 1-click patch polaris, not OC too much Core 1250, Mem 1950 i get around 560 h/s with SRBMiner

For 570 4gb (elpida, hynix), bios 1-click patch polaris, same OC settings as above i get around 525-530 h/s with SRBMiner

mV from -100 to -68 (it depends on the card)

Fully stable.

Are you sure this was mining cryptonight-alloy? Be carefull Alloy is diferent algorithm than Cryptonight-heavy and Alloy gives much lower hash rate than heavy. The only way you can know alloy hash rate is by mining it.
Your hash rates seems much to high for alloy, that is why I am asking... Usually with 580 8gb you can get 400 - 450 H/s, not more.
We already had alot of confussion because people constantly reported hash rate they received on heavy and claimed it is alloy...

Glad to hear it works now... I believe your hash rates can be improved a bit. Are you using double threads with AMD cards, if not there is some margin of improvement. You should also play with intensity setting and overclock to get best hash rate.
With NVIDIA you can play with "threads" setting, and overclock to get better hash... but I am not sure how much 1080 should give.
Cryptonight algorithms in general needs overclock of memory to get better hash rate, but you can underclock and undervolt core, to reduce power consumption and heat production, with only slight decrease in hash rate.

Tried many times with different algos. Always instantly gives driver crash for all cards.

560 h/s 99% was heavy indeed. i'm checking it
ok so 560 h/s (570 8gb) was my max hashrate in ALLOY algo.

In heavy with the same setup my rates are:
https://imgur.com/a/SQN7XEU (https://imgur.com/a/SQN7XEU)
Sapphire 570 8 GB - around 1050 h/s (samsung) -  bios 1-click patch polaris, not OC too much Core 1250, Mem 1950, mV -68 - SRBMiner 1.5.0
Sapphire 570 4 GB - around 712 h/s (elpida - hynix) - bios 1-click patch polaris, same OC settings as above - SRBMiner 1.5.0

Hence, i was remembering correctly. It was 560 h/s on 570 8GB, alloy algo but OC Settings a bit more, meaning Mem was OC at 2050 while on 570 4GB mem was OC at 2000

Are you using double threads with AMD cards, if not there is some margin of improvement.

Tried many times with different algos. Always instantly gives driver crash for all cards.

I don't know why this happens ... but it shouldn't ...

Sapphire 570 4 GB - 464 h/s (elpida - hynix) - bios 1-click patch polaris, same OC settings as above - SRBMiner 1.5.0

Stable as a rock.

Those are very good hashrates :D thanks for confirming it being Alloy algo :)
I will go and try something with rx 580 8gb cards... as they should get atleast 500 + , at the moment its 400 :( hihi

Multiminer does make mining so much easier!! everything in one place including wallets..
just want to give a shout out to the miners on my pool..

Oh yes, I will try those... I stopped using them some time ago when I found out newer drivers gives the same hash, and I needed them for more than 8GPU support...

if the wallet support  the solo mining?

If you are asking If wallet supports solo mining, the answer is no. You can mine using wallet but it is pool mining...

Well it's true. Just in case - couple of minutes ago tried 2 threads on single 560 - got instant crash and reboot.

I just realised that I have forgotten to mention, when you use double threads in xmr-stak you must reduce intensity... so for example intensity for single thread is 1000, for double threads will be 600 each.... try reducing intensity alot, and if it works increase it step by step untill it is stable....

Of cause I reduced, more then two times less (i.e. was 890, made 2x390). No go. Tried downclock, overclock, reset settings, up power limit, down power limit - big nothing.

i have a few questions....your rig worked for other coins before or is new new? if its new new, check your risers they can be a pain in the arse
how much ram you have?
what cpu?
how many gpus?
what gpus?
are the gpus all in one machine or different machines?
are you on windows?
is vram enabled for the number of your cards?
is framework and visual c++ installed?
what driver?

Sure.

I make 2threads by copypasting one gpu section & lowering int. So it becomes smthng like this:

  { "index" : 0,
    "intensity" : 368, "worksize" : 8,
    "affine_to_cpu" : false, "strided_index" : 1, "mem_chunk" : 2,

    "comp_mode" : true
  },

I organise gpu_conf like this, but I really don't think this should matter. For double threads It would look like this

"gpu_threads_conf" : [
{ "index" : 0, "intensity" : 432, "worksize" : 8, "affine_to_cpu" : false, "strided_index" : 1, "mem_chunk" : 2, "comp_mode" : true},

{ "index" : 1, "intensity" : 432, "worksize" : 8, "affine_to_cpu" : false, "strided_index" : 1, "mem_chunk" : 2, "comp_mode" : true},
{ "index" : 1, "intensity" : 432, "worksize" : 8, "affine_to_cpu" : false, "strided_index" : 1, "mem_chunk" : 2, "comp_mode" : true},
{ "index" : 2, "intensity" : 432, "worksize" : 8, "affine_to_cpu" : false, "strided_index" : 1, "mem_chunk" : 2, "comp_mode" : true},
{ "index" : 2, "intensity" : 432, "worksize" : 8, "affine_to_cpu" : false, "strided_index" : 1, "mem_chunk" : 2, "comp_mode" : true},
{ "index" : 3, "intensity" : 432, "worksize" : 8, "affine_to_cpu" : false, "strided_index" : 1, "mem_chunk" : 2, "comp_mode" : true},

Not so much coins are listed as of the moment.

Tradeogre is pretty good imo -- you can be up and running within couple minutes with no bullshit kyc and the interface is pretty lean. Sure, not too many coins are listed yet, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

some miners ask for visual c++ in order to work. i dunno about framework since its already being installed in Win10. however you are in win7 so try to install latest framework as well.
now its been a long time since win7. i've even forgot how it were.
i use as swap(virtual memory in windows) 16 gb per card. since you dont state how many cards but you call it a rig i assume its more than 2 cards per rig so try increasing your vram if that's possible.

You seem to be doing everything RIGHT! I have no idea why this wouldn't work for you :(

I beleive not every gpu is fit for this exact algo/mining. For example: one of my 580s mines almost everything just fine - I tried it with lots of coins, and it's very stable. But when I run claymore's equihash miner - it also instantly crashes and pc reboots. Still it can mine all other coins AND equihash with other miners. It looks like hardware limitation.

So I think this type of issue could relate to other specific algos/miners. How much statistics do you have on cryptonight two threads mining?

Yes and they just simply don't start without it. Also how could c++ be required for two threads and not for one? That makes no sense.

Quote

I stated, you just missed it. "4 gpus each".
And rigs were running with 32 gb for past months perfectly, I raised it to 64 gb for this case, just to be sure. (And it didn't help, of course)

I have never had problems mining with dual threads. Whenever I use xmr-stak I use dual threads... I have been mining old Cryptonigh, Cryptonight V7 and Cryptonight_Alloy with rx550, rx580 and rx vega64 ...

Yeh, I agree with you about tradeogre... I am pretty much satisfied with this exchange. And the volumes are not so bad...well on alloy are a bit low, but this is not exchanges's fault...on some other coins on tradeogre volumes are very nice :D

Few people only... I didn't talk much about this with anyone...
It seems you will just need to surrender :P Anyway don't be too much upset the difference is not so huge...but it can be some 10%
I even tried to mine with 3 threads or 4 threads....and it is working, but hash rate decreased a bit... I was trying this some months ago...maybe if I would give it another go to observe hash rate/power/temps ... At the moment don't have time for it, maybe one day

Announcement

Dear Community!

This is 1st July official announcement about our progress. I would like to keep you up to date with our current work.

1. We have started developement of electron wallet. Electron wallet is a shell for the Alloy daemon. It is cross-platform (windows, linux, macosx) and will provide us with an easy to use wallet. We will merge our current work on mobile wallet with it, so electron will provide basis for mobile wallet.

2. In last two weeks we have been working on development of "webminer", which will allow for people to mine our XAO coin with CPU from all kind of devices (Pc, phone, tablet). Webminer will be a script embedded in a webpage with a pool selector and % usage selector options. All you have to do is to select pool, intensity, input your wallet address and press start.
Webminer is in testing phase right now and we expect it to be ready in 7 to 10 days.

3. Integration of ethOS support for Alloy coin is almost done, and will be finished in next few days. Next step is simple mining OS support for AMD devices.

4. Our new Youtube channel has been created and updated with first 6 video guides. You can expect more videos to be added soon, also we expect from you some suggestions about which topic you would like to see covered with video.
Alloy Project Youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLeRirQiiXKcQD_N_TfamrQ)

5. I am happy to say that job for creation of video intro/closer, posted on our discord channel, is no longer active. We have chosen video intro/closure from our community member
Navneet Jaiswal. Thank you very much for this great intro/closure, that will be used in all our videos. You can see it in each of our videos on our youtube channel.

6. We are also working on our own wiki to add more resources about our Alloy Project. In case you are not sure what wiki is - wiki is a website on which users collaboratively modify content and structure directly from the web browser. By far the most popular wiki-based webpage is Wikipedia.

7. I received confirmation from Cryptobridge exchange, that they will start listing cryptonight coins within 1 months time. Next to being decent exchange, Cryptobridge is also decentralised exchange which is in compliance with our project and idea of bein private and untracable coin. This is another reason that we are interested in Cryptobridge.

8. On our blockexplorer, in pools section we have now also data about pools latency, which is also important information to have when you are choosing your favourite Alloy mining pool. Underneath the pools list there is also "benchmark list" about hash rate with different CPU/GPU - use this as a guide.
Alloy Project BlockExplorer - Pools (https://alloyexplorer.com/#/pools)

I am already looking forward for next announcement on 15th July, because some great news and implementations are coming!
Stay well and keep on following us
Your Alloy Project team

Hello. This is cool news, but i want to know, can we use Electron wallet at Android and Ios devices? Also, do you have more news about exchanges, except Criptobridge.
And I would like to give you advice - create subtitles on the YouTube channel manually, because now they are not entirely correct. Well, or it would be nice to make a video not only in English.
Thank you. good luck to you!)

Electron wallet can only be used on Win/Linux/MacOS... but mobile wallets (Android/Ios) will be build on top of electron wallet.
About exchanges : Well I am in contact with some of them, but to be honest we are not ready to spend most of developement fund to cover listing fee. At this moment, and with this market situation its not yet time to pay big BTC :) Cryptobridge seem to be good decentralised exchange with more room to grow, so listing there might after some time prove to be good decision.
About youtube : yes I will create subtitles manually... about other languagues, I agree it would be nice, but this will have to wait a bit :P

Hi, i use Xmrig in you github but i have a problem.
if compile in linux (test Ubuntu and other distr)
build comple, but if start xmrig see "No valid configuration found. Exiting."
i copy config.json in src dir and create config.json self, result same.

if use official github Xmrig all work fine but no algo "cryptonight_alloy" :(

Who have this bug? please fix ^_^
if need more info please send me DM
Thanks

Will ask devs or others in community, and will come back to you...

I expect this ICO will be useful. Absorbing activity, extraordinary approach, justifiable results.

Alloy Project is not an ICO, but apart from that I agree with you ;)

Hi, i use Xmrig in you github but i have a problem.
if compile in linux (test Ubuntu and other distr)
build comple, but if start xmrig see "No valid configuration found. Exiting."
i copy config.json in src dir and create config.json self, result same.

if use official github Xmrig all work fine but no algo "cryptonight_alloy" :(

Who have this bug? please fix ^_^
if need more info please send me DM
Thanks

Will ask devs or others in community, and will come back to you...

It seems that you need to change variant to 0 in jour config.json ... this should solve the issue. If you have more issues please join our telegram channel and we will help you there

OH MAN!!! I just woke up from a crazy dream that XAO was listed on Binance. It was so real that before I was fully awake I logged onto Binance and had myself convinced it was real (That was part of the dream). I even woke up and had written XAO in the search bar. I can't wait until this dream becomes reality. Any news on future exchange listings?

Haha, that was not a bad dream! I am not sure about binance, but one day we will be on a big exchange. I am still waiting for Cryptobridge to update support for cryptonote cryptocurrencies.

Hi...I am not sure, I will take a look and will come back to you...

I have checked it and the thing is : Mining with your GUI wallet you actually mine through alloypool.com, so your hash rate goes through that pool, and you also receive payments from that pool. As of 9th August payment system of alloypool.com is broken, due to some problems with chainsplit. But you don't have to worry, because you will get all your payments once it is fixed. As long as pool is finding blocks, and as long as your pending balance grows everything is ok... You can check directly on the pool with your wallet address, and you will see how much is your pending balance. One of our devs who is in charge of that pool is currently on vacations, and as soon as he comes back we will fix this problem. We appologise for any possible inconveniences...

When you are in GUI wallet, you need to go to Mining tab -> the lowest one on the left. In Mining tab you have list of pools, you need to drag the one you prefer to the top of the list. If your prefered pool is not on the list, or data is incorrect you need to manually add new pool at the bottom... and that is pretty much it... just remember the pool you prefer have to be on the top of the list...

Thanks @Lukal! That was easy enough. Also. I was pleased to see that after joining a working pool I seem to have been credited for the hash power I had contributed but yet to be compensated for. Just got a nice deposit of 50.6 XAO. SWEET!

Resignation from Alloy Project

I joined Alloy Project about 5 months ago. In this time my role was to support community and try to raise awareness about Alloy Project in crypto world, without spending any coins from Alloy development fund. It is worth mentioning that in all this time I haven’t received not a single coin from Alloy funders (not for myself and not for marketing purposes). What is more, I spend some of my personal coins (that I bought on exchange with my own money) to pay for some promotion activities/bounties.

Recently (about 4 weeks ago) one of Alloy Project founders — OxHaK, announced to us that he is leaving the project, because he no longer believes in it. At that time me and Kh4n were willing to take all the burden of such project on our shoulders, because we strongly believe in the project.

With recent development of project OxHaK recognised his interest in the project, may it be good or bad, and suddenly returned to Alloy. He has instantly deleted some of my announcements and taken away all my authorisations. Now he is acting like he has never left the project. Since I have joined the project OxHaK has been constantly promising what he will do, but has never delivered any of it. As far as I see things, OxHaK hasn’t done anything in this past 5 months. Most of the work, development wise, was done by Kh4n.

Some 3 months ago I proposed to the team to reveal our real identities, in order for people to see that we are willing to stand behind project with our real name. As my intention was always for the best of the project, and for that I was willing to risk my privacy. And guess what? OxHaK was the only one strongly against it.

Now, OxHaK will probably try to ruin my credibility by stating that I am working for CryptoNote fund ICO. It is true, I am advisor for CNIF, but there has never been any conflict of interest. My work for both project is legit, and I have nothing to hide. If I had something to hide, I wouldn’t agree that CNIF publish my real personal informations on their website. I have never directly promoted CNIF ICO on Alloy social media channels, and I have never asked anyone in Alloy community to go invest in Fund. All I did was emphasise the importance and benefits that Alloy could have if it was selected in Fund. And I asked people to go vote for Alloy, NOT to go invest in Fund. I still believe that this Fund is great oportunity for Alloy Project to get much wider audience, and good marketing, and I am sure that this last price increase was caused because Alloy was exposed to much wider audience thanks to the Fund. In my announcement I stated “At this point it is also wise to say that Alloy Project is in no way connected with Fund, except that Fund is potential buyer of XAO on exchanges, therefore if anything negative happens with Fund this should not affect Alloy Project in any way.”.

There might have been some concerns that latest price surge was caused by Fund. Let me explain that latest price surge was organice, because Fund has not made any investment yet. Fund will start buying cryptocurrencies after January 12th 2019, when ICO phase ends.

I don’t like the way OxHaK works, and I believe he is the limiting factor for Alloy Project. Many times he was blocking my marketing atempts, and therefore obstructed projects development. I believe he is damaging the project, intentionally or not.

I am still interested to work for Alloy Project, but obviously I am not willing to work with someone who I believe is harmful for the project. So at this point I resign from Alloy Project!

Hi everyone,

kh4n confirmed to have a publishable version of the web / mobile wallet, and before publishing it, he wants to be sure everything is safe. It will be released as soon as possible. Nighthawk is still with us, helping to maintain the safety of our network. In the future it is possible that we use freelancers for some tasks that do not affect the security of the project, which will help us focus on the main objective.

We will keep you informed as soon as possible when things are ready to be published.

Tradeogre says their wallet is not responding well, shows negative balances. There is no chance to contact these guys or girls :). Anyway is there somebody who could go on github and resolve that problem? It is bad that this coin is on exchange and not working, I mean very strange.

The only available pool is stuck for 2 months, yet wallet shows some noticeable hashrate and blocks generating.

xao.pool.mine2gether.com:1777 but bear in mind that this has no development and people are keeping it alive just for fun.

The wallet in TradeOgre is dead as well, stuck in maintenance for some reason that i do not know.

Yes but if you think about it selling this does only make the buyer sad if that person doesn't gather sufficient information or buys for whatever reason. Even if you get the wallet working temporarily, the project is actually dead.

The buyer will end up as a bag holder for sure.

Well, thanks for the info.

Btw, price on the TradeOgre spiked in the last 24hrs. That seems fun, but pretty useless, since you can not neither deposit, nor withdraw.  :)

Suspicious, maybe the exchange holds some and artificially boosts the price to lure some people into buying the fake hype. Definitely a possibility.

i contacted TradeOgre on tweeter and they replied super fast.
It seems that the wallet implementation is buggy and i quote directly from them "Their (XAO devs) wallet software shows negative balance"
so until someone fixes the bug they are unable to activate the wallet.

Now about the volume, possibly some people with btc in TradeOgre play with XAO for some reason that i dunno.
It would be great if this actually gets revived although i m not sure what it has to offer

Yes but the exchanges can also drive the price up artificially. Yobit has been known for that for quite a while. They had bots on almost every single coin and they can create buying pressure out of thin air. Don't know, but seems fishy to me.

If they had something to do with it they wouldn't tell you anyway, right?

There is nothing I can add except for the recommendation to follow your advice. Getting into this artificially pumped and hyped coin hoping for some profit will most likely end in a financial disaster...

That's a possibility, but I really doubt it. In the last days a whole lot of CN coins raised noticeably. XAO is just one of them, but sadly has only one exchange.

That is a an obvious possibility because that is the case more often than not. If the exchange ends up as a bagholder and they are in the position to artificially raise the price and create volume without getting caught, I think they will take that opportunity.
