Title: PrimeDice, Just-Dice, SatoshiDice and Co - ALL unethical and BAD for Bitcoin
Post by: kingsportzrulz on September 26, 2013, 01:01:04 PM
It has been interesting and amusing reading of late with all the allegations and ddos attacks occurring at present in relation to bitcoin casinos.

People has been complaining and making allegations against bitcoin casinos for scamming and cheating and being unfair for ages and always get shot down with ‘where’s your proof’, ‘you’re just a sore loser’, ‘it’s gambling, of course you will lose’ etc etc.

Now these same casinos are the ones making allegations of unfair and unethical behavior of others. Just because something can be done, doesn’t mean it should be done. Just because a man can rape a woman, doesn’t mean he should. Just because an adult can abuse a child, doesn’t mean they should. Just because you can set up a bitcoin casino, doesn’t mean you should.

WHAT THE FCUK guys?? Do you really think you are an ethical, fair, and esteemed person or member of the bitcoin community?

Get your head out of the clouds you greedy and evil people.

Ask yourself these questions:
1.   Is there any mention anywhere on your sites about responsible gambling;
2.   Do you plan on paying taxes on your business profits;
3.   Have you (or do you plan to) donate any of your business profits to gambling related charities;
4.   Do you state anywhere that you do not accept betting from underage players; and
5.   If Satoshi were to comment on your business, would it be negative or positive?

Has any of the above even ever entered your small brains? Gambling in society is strictly and heavily regulated. It is as such for very specific reasons. If you want to operate in an unregulated environment, accept that you will be shot down at any opportunity that others get. Stop all your whining and crying about it you pathetic scum.

All you see is dollar signs. You don’t care one bit about the damage gambling does to people, their families, and society at large. Is making an easy profit the only part you care to take in all of this.

You guys are the new wild wild west, dog eat dog. So what the fcuk are you all complaining about? You are running illegal businesses. You are taking advantage of people. You are allowing people to use your service when they shouldn’t.

You are just gang leaders, and your ‘investors’ the gang members. You are all too blinded by the perceived easy profit to see the damage you are doing. Too busy running your drugs and protecting your territory to realize that drug running is illegal as well as a target for other drug pushers.

And guess what - surprise surprise, when one gang sees easy money being made by another gang, what do you think will happen? How long did you think the ‘party’ would last?

You all have targets on your heads. Don’t be so blinded that you can’t see that fact. You think you are anonymous. Well there are other Anonymous people out there that will take you down. In whatever form that will eventually take. Best to take your stolen money and run now.

GOOD v evil. YOU evil scum will LOSE.

Just my humble thoughts  :)

It would have been nice if you asked in a more professional manner, but I'll respond to your questions.

1. No. Should a paint salesman provide instructions on how not to eat paint?
2. Yes
3. Have already donated a considerable amount to both charity and other btc project development, will donate more in the future.
4. Yes
5. I have a feeling Satoshi's opinion is favorable

The ability of a person to make a wager on a future event is not unethical. Many find it fun. The stigma attached to gambling is generally related to puritan religious nonsense, which posits that some activities are "vices" and are wrong. If you hold that opinion, don't hang out in the gambling sub-forum. Freedom of choice is a beautiful thing.

Actually , in the EU we have those warnings on toxic products (including paint) , do not eat ,do not spray into the eyes , etc . :D

True, okay let me clarify.... it is generally good to warn people of things that may be harmful (especially if it's not obvious). On SD's new site, there will be a warning about responsible gambling. However, I believe there is little virtue in nanny-ism, in assuming that users and customers are all children, and must be coddled and protected from themselves. Most adults are adults, and ought to be treated with respect, professionalism, honesty, and courtesy. Treat people like dependent children, and you'll end up with a bunch of dependent children.

The recent complaints against Betcoin are because they are not acting in an honest or professional manner. Instead of running to the government and using coercive force to try to stop them, instead we are voicing our concerns to the community - concerns that are equally valid regardless of the industry.

There is a section on responsible gambling in the Just-Dice FAQ. I am sure there are other sites which have similar info.

Did you seriously compare the ethically operations of a bitcoin online gambling site to that of a man raping a woman?

Wow.

It's tough to a cringe worthy comment like that seriously, I will say this: These operations are no illegal under any state or federal law. The people that gamble are willing participants and are well aware of the risk and opportunity they are taking. Who or what has given the moral authority to you and what right do you have to pass judgment on other's behavior?

If you don't like the concept of gambling, I respect that. However, you have no right to belittle others that do.

Take your bull elsewhere.

In most of the world online gambling is fully legal. In the US, there is no federal law banning online gambling (though there are laws banning the "funding of illegal gambling sites," which is a different legal argument) There are also a handful of US states that do have laws against it.

Ask yourself these questions:
1.   Is there any mention anywhere on your sites about responsible gambling;

It would have been nice if you asked in a more professional manner, but I'll respond to your questions.

1. No. Should a paint salesman provide instructions on how not to eat paint?

The ability of a person to make a wager on a future event is not unethical. Many find it fun. The stigma attached to gambling is generally related to puritan religious nonsense, which posits that some activities are "vices" and are wrong. If you hold that opinion, don't hang out in the gambling sub-forum. Freedom of choice is a beautiful thing.

This is really unethical, the compulsive gambling is a problem for many people and should be ways to autoban of a site, is the first rule to follow when you have a gambling license.

Did you seriously compare the ethically operations of a bitcoin online gambling site to that of a man raping a woman?

Wow.

It's tough to a cringe worthy comment like that seriously, I will say this: These operations are no illegal under any state or federal law. To be fair, it's ambiguous in its current state. There are no federal laws directly against online gambling. States have worked to make it legal and some have passed laws allowing people to gamble online like New Jersey. Other states like New York are currently looking to make online gambling legal. While other states allow some forms of online gambling like horse racing and lottery, they either fully reject or have nothing concrete for slots, blackjack and sports gambling. I'm sure if you asked a government official if online gambling was legal in their state they probably couldn't give you a straight answer.

It's a classic gray area, but our government is notorious for that.

I'm going to start offering bitcoin gaming licenses. These will be GPG signed, as well as printed so you can post it in your office, as well as graphically signed so you can post a picture on your website.

Anyone who has a bitcoin gaming license from me will fall under by jurisdiction and authority.

Now, I'm still thinking what the fees will be, but all who apply before 31 Dec 2013 will get their licenses for free, will be considered charter members of Dabs Bitcoin Gaming Commission, and will retain their free license for a period of 10 years.

All members who apply from 01 Jan 2014 onwards will have to pay a non-refundable application and processing fee of 1 BTC per annum, renewable every year.

First time applicants are not automatically accepted.

Certain rules and regulations will apply that all members must adhere to, but common sense will prevail, and will be similar to other internationally issued gaming licenses.

Ok, I'm going to think of more things later on, but that's it for now.

First time applicants are not automatically accepted.

finally read the OP in its entirety, i'm amazed why there are so many "yes men" when it comes to these fraudulent online gambling sites. I find it shocking they log ip addresses to track users and use this info to taylor the odds!  ::)

The top dice sites, particularly the 3 mentioned in the title, do not log ip addresses to "taylor" the odds. Except for SatoshiDice, the other two already have you make an account, so they don't need your ip address since you are logged in as one account already.

And you're advertising one of them in your signature.

What convinces you? Because, I'm also an idealist and I'm all with the community and then some. But I also need to see verifiable proof, otherwise it's just all anecdotal or hearsay.

IANAL, but it's just not right to condemn an innocent man to death for a crime he did not commit. What if we're wrong? Proof is needed. That's the whole point of being provably fair.

These dice games are fair to players at least. Only investors could potentially have problems. The little article by some dude about injecting html or java partials just doesn't make sense even to me, although I'm usually a fail at understanding probabilities and math.

I don't know for certain, but that message probably came from an outside company used to defend against DDOS attacks.  In other words, that message came before you were redirected to the dice game's website.
