Advanced -> Trade -> "Select issuer". The issuer is your gateway...Bitstamp more than likely. Send your BTC to Bitstamp. Then in Bitstamp goto withdrawal -> Ripple -> "Trust this address". Once you've "trusted" Bitstamp, you change your issuer and the orderbook will show. You're basically telling the client which gateway orderbook to display. In this case, Bitstamp. You can buy direct from Bitstamp at a premium to fund your account. Other gateways like SnapSwap give away 2000XRP for signing up and adding a Dwolla account. I'd suggest you learn about what you're putting money into before you use it.
