Its a big big thing for bitcoin and to all altcoins! This latest news is good for convincing the others to accept the cryptoccurencies as well, specially to those who keep on believing that bitcoin is scam due to receiving a wrong information from the others. At least what is happening now is a good show of evidence for this people to eliminate the wrong thought against bitcoin. I believe that there is another great news of success in the next to come for bitcoin.

this has always been a bit strange to me that there usually are these "big things" you can buy with bitcoin. like real estate for example! that is a lot of money and if someone has that much bitcoin they usually are not willing to give that much up at this price specially. if price was $100k maybe but not at $10k.
or maybe some people with a large sum of bitcoin may do that but there aren't that many people with a lot of bitcoin in their wallets.

It is good to know that anyone can buy a house in Britain using bitcoin. I hope someday that it will be applied all over the world. With that situation maybe the economy will be greater and many people can buy a house because many people are using bitcoin. I also hope that there are other things that bitcoin can buy someday.

Stories like this are good news for crypto currencies but it also serves as good publicity for a company. I'm sure most would even offer a reduction on the price if paid with bitcoin. It wouldn't be like the purchaser wasn't going to spend the same amount in fiat to buy a property.

If you come to think of it, I guess this thing about buying a house thru bitcoin is not so unusual at all. Yes it may have  been given as an option in paying or buying for a house but with our current state if we have plenty of cryptos then we can buy a house as well thru converting it into acceptable currency.

Well this is a good news and this is the reason why do people still using bitcoin until this point, bitcoin should be used for something like this. There are real estates on sale for BTC in a lot of countries - I've seen especially a lot of in Asia. The prices are usually not that good tho but its good to see it happening.

more good news , this is exactly what bitcoins needs if we are spending our bitcoins and not just holding them of course this will push the acceptance of bitcoins as a currency, jamsey hagan , managing director of hagan homes commented that their acceptance is basically a reflection of their willingness to respond to the market ......bitcoins is getting help its now up to us to encourage the spending of bitcoins because if we continue to hold all our bitcoins then we are stifling the market and bitcoins and by extension our own investment, as if we continue to just hold then people will stop accepting bitcoins as a payment because it makes no financial sense to train people in an area that is rarely used so people please craft your portfolio with a portion dedicated to spending .At this point bitcoins acceptance as payment for goods is not great so when these opportunities arise we need to encourage and support them.

Britain was always among the leading countries in europe that embraced new technology and London is the financial hotspot in europe too. It makes sense that Britain stays ahead leads the way toward innovation and transformation.

Buying house with btc is good news ; and it means that Govt of the country have no objection if trading done in btc.  It is one step ahead in making btc more popular.  It will increase it's demand and ultimately as a result price rise.

You can, but should you? I don't think buying with crypto adds any extra utility to purchasing a house. Most countries allow great tax breaks for bringing in capital to buy a house anyway so often times property buyers are treated just like locals are. Especially in the UK I don't think that cash would be a problem. Using large sums of BTC for a payment other than just electronic FIAT could be more of a problem other than a utility when it comes to buying a house.

It's not a problem - buy something using bitcoin. The problem is not where to spend them. Now there are thousands of places where you can buy goods for bitcoins.

If I'm supposed to buy a house then I would stick to fiat. It is much more stable to use but if you really want to use BTC then go ahead. I prefer spending fiat in these matters. I have something which I can use BTC better though.

Well one benefit is obvious, people think if you don't cash out your bitcoin to FIAT then you don't have to pay any tax. You can buy goods and leave the taxman out of it. Buying a house would probably not work in this regard as you will have to register your property in your country. If you would buy outside the country you live in it might be easier.

I remember Expedia announcing back in 2014-15 that they were going to accept bitcoin. They were the first ones to do so and are quite big a name so it did leave a major impact on the community.

With more and more adoption like these and more news of it then more people would be more inclined to invest into the cryptocurrency market when they see that they can actually buy something tangible and of reasonable value with cryptos. With mass adoption comes more trust and more faith in the market and less people who believe that bitcoins and altcoins are scams.

It was always an eventuality that this was going to happen. it's about time people started making high value purchases possible using BTC. I believe that you can do this in any country that has legalized Bitcoin including the 1st world countries like Canada and Australia, but there are just few people willing to accept it due to the paperwork issues. Although I would like to point out that I don’t think many people will be taking advantage of this because I believe that if one does have so much bitcoin to buy a house, that they would not be willing to give up so much bitcoin as they would believe that bitcoin has a lot of potential and would give a better return.
