Where is it better to invest our money? In famous coins or in ICOs projects?

Ico investments can be a bit risky compared to the altcoin investment. If you are looking for not valued coins. You can choose from icos recently finished and on exchange. Their price can be lower than ico price. They have much more potential.

Not much different between the two ICO investment means that you will invest into a project which isnt yet listed in exchanges,tokens you will receive will be available in the market after the ICO has ended,after the ICO phase where you can aquire cheap tokens it will be listed into exchanges that will be called as an altcoins.

You could lose a lot of money when the ICO has failed,but when it achieve success it will give you an unimaginable gains when it got listed in exchanges.

ICO investment is an altcoin investment too,its the same if you are talking about buying these tokens which altcoins are called when it isnt yet available in exchanges,as soon as these tokens are listed in exchanges it will be called as an altcoin.ICO tokens will be called as Altcoin when it is already available in exchanges there are no difference between these two investments,the only risk part would be the ICO phase because you could lose a lot of money when you buy tokens then the project will fail at the end.

It depends on the project and its price at the time.  If you look at the new cryptocurrencies in CMC you'll see most of them below ICO prices. So I think right now there are many altcoins better than most of the ICOs today unless if you're looking at solid ones like TomoCoin, Effect.ai for example.

 ICOs could be risky unlike in altcoins because ICOs are just starting to make their own coin while in altcoins their coins is already established. ICOs tokens at the start will not have value but if the ICO is a success that's the time that you will earn unimaginable earnings but if it fail your investments will turn into waste especially if it is a very huge amount.

Ico is more risky for me. But if you find very promissing project Which will achieve success you will get huge profit. But it is not easy.

It's a trade off, risk vs reward. I would say go with both options.
ICOs are unproven and risky, but with potentially higher rewards. Big coins have lower reward but less risk.

ICO definitely has more risks involved but it's always going to be a risk-reward decision. Remember too that many altcoins that are doing well rewarded the ICO investors handsomely too

If you want coins that are already value on the market, then choose Altcoins, but if you want to take risks and have a big reward of holding unto tokens then invest on ICOs, but if you can make up your mind then do 50%-50% on both choices.

Personally I will choose both. I want some of my investment in well known Altcoin while others is in ICO which I believe will have a great value to the community. But if I where to choose one, then I'll choose ICO.

Yeah, I think this is the best solution for those who prefer risks with high possible outcome. ICO can not even get to the phase of distributing tokens. There's too much scam out there. Or nobody would care about putting it on the exchange. And sometimes (I think it happens in most of cases) people sell the tokens at the first possibility to do that. That's why it's better to wait at least a couple of days after the coin is on a normal exchange and then decide whether it is worth investing in. And yet I think that it is still best just to buy the top coins and wait for a year. Most of them go up, so it's easy and safe.

I prefer to invest in altcoins. I consider them more reliable than tokens after ico.

I believe that it is better to invest in famous coins, but some money can be allocated to help prospective projects.

Both of them are good to invest but invest in good altcoin is still better and safer than ICO project because there are so many ICO project so it's not easy to find out a good project with good potential to invest in if you don't have enough experience and knowledge about investing in ICO. But with altcoin it's much easier cause you just need to spend your money to invest in good and famous altcoin like ETH, NEO, XLM, IOTA,...then hold them till their price increase.

Most of ICO's don't even success. But there're lots of long living Altcoins such as LTC, ETH, DOGE etc.

Money train of ICO projects became a bit slower last month and today most project don't show fast success with x3-x5 right after ICO as it was in december. I will assume that the famous coins you are talking about have a decent price. Now, since they have a good price, it means they already built their own community why they able to reached that status. They're already in the crypto world for long period of time and already experienced ups and down in terms of price. With that, we can analyzed how can we make profit out of trading them.

Now with the ICO investment, it will also depend on how the developers of each project are eager to execute their roadmaps. This will be a long explanation so I suggest to study first the risk of investing in ICO project.

If i must advice you it's better you do it on two of it. 50% of your fund for ICO invesment and the rest of it to altcoin OR you can do with all of your fund on ICO cause they suitable for a long-term invesment.

For the famous coin, you can invest to bitcoin, ethereum, monero or should I say the top 10-20 on coinmarketcap and for ICO you can read whitepaper and lightpaper of VLB.

There are still some great ICOs out there where potential is huge, but obviously more risk than investing in an already established coin, especially with the market drop offering some great bargains. ICOs tend to offer bigger returns if the demand exceeds the supply, so look for ICOs with big (achievable) ambitions and low coin supply. The way the market is going at the moment, a lot of completed ICOs are hitting the markets below the ICO price, especially if they don't get on some of the bigger exchanges quickly. I tend to check out Kucoin and Huobi, they seem to list some of the newer coins quicker, so offer good opportunities to get in early if you missed the ICO.

I think I would like to invest in ICO cause it will support the project and that situation is very important to make the bounty will or not by the investment from people to support their project in the future. I think after the ico success the coin will going up

altcoins that has a name is more safer than has not. so if you invest on the ICO projects, you need to do a lot of research to prove that ICO is not a scam and you can generate a good profits from that. because most of the ICO projects are scam, not to mentioned all but most of them are. so if i were you, i will choose a coins that has a name and invest in on to that.

There is really no guarantee of success in every investments. If we compare the two, ICO investment is more risky but if successful, you will get a higher profit. It is a test of your strength and determination, to risk and get higher reward or not too risky but lower reward.

There is risk on both side of investment but the risk is more on ICO investment than Altcoin investment. ICO, if investted in a good project you could make good money but the question now is how to identify the good projects. There are some threads on that if you search around, though you will need some patience because I clasify ICO to be long term. I guess when you mention altcoin investment you seem to refer to altcoins listed on exchanges right? If so, you need to study how to buy, sell, understand charts etc on exchanges. Buy HOLD or buy and place a sell order. The profits here might not be much since the project might be trading higher than its ICO price. But if it is a long term project which concluded its ico not too long again chances are that the trading price might be lower than its ICO price before the complete development of the project.

You can do both and remember investing definitely has risks. If investing in ICO see who the team and its advisors are and if investing in altcoin pay attention to the enthusiasts of the coin

I invest my money in known coins and in promising ICO. For me, the risks are approximately the same, since in both cases we have to carefully analyze the growth prospects.

Both can provide a good return and some of the coins can do very well. There will be some that do not do well and you could lose money from both the ICOs and the altcoins so it goes round in circles. Investing in ICO and altcoin are totally the same, because they are both good in cryptocurrency business, but it depends the person who invest on how they used their ability and knowledge by using a good strategy on how to earn and gain multiple income.

 I would recommend choosing projects you really like, rather than going into projects people shoutout for you. Your hodling will be stronger. Additionally strategy is always to find a bulletproof entry price, so timing wise, it is perfect now. I would put 2.5k into two coins of your choice ( ETH, REBL) that target a specific problem, one is riskier and newer, the other one more established.

Yes I have seen this with many ICO when the tokens are out in the market the value of those ICO tokens will be trending at higher price only for few days then it just crashes down to scratch or equal to nothing.

I think the ICO is more profitable because you actually get a share in the project, at the very beginning stage. Altcoins is a little different, and they have a speculative component.

Usually investing in the good ICO projects is more profitable than investing in altcoins. There are few number of good altcoins which have some potential, while the promising ICO projects are several, and also you can earn by participating in their bounty campaigns without investing your money, so you are only risking the time and the effort.

It all depends on your calculated movement, icos is a bit risky when compared to an already existing project but at the same time good icos can earn you as much profit that an existing project may not be able to offer within a short period. I’d rather prefer to invest in altcoins. First of all, you can see the real working team or product. Secondary, you don’t need to pass KYC for buying new coins on market, but for ICO it is necessary. First decide if you love the money you already have. If you don't then invest in ICOs otherwise altcoins. yes, and I think it is better to do altcoin investment if we want to hold for a long time and although ico investment can give huge profits, I think it depends on the dev, the team and the project itself. there are a lot of ICO around us and it is only few ICO that could survive in this situations and besides that, we need to choose what ICO that could survive for a long time. and in altcoin investment, as long as we can choose from top 30 lists of coinmarketcap for the investment, I think it is enough for us to choose for 5 altcoins for our investment.

Yes I agree to some posts here that ICO's are really risky. If you will be in for a scam, it would be the worst day of your life. But if you have chosen successfully you might end up in a very good returns of investments. This really needs a lot of research. Altcoins investment as well may also be at risks. Volatility and FUD is a common problem but it is a bit safer than losing everything in a scam or Failing ICO. Its up for you to choose.

Ico investment can give you profits that is double than that what altcoin can give because ico's are cheap and it got even cheaper if you invest within a specific time given by them although you must be verry picky because ico's are known to be verry risky and most of them usually failed to hit the market because they fail to reach their qouta or cap but altcoin investment were usually already listed but they dont give any bonuses aside from when thier value decrease due to fluctuations  .
