Title: Bitcoin should continue to stay in a low price?
Post by: kwabeedat on March 01, 2018, 06:38:51 AM
Which do you prefer?
Bitcoin should stay low, market cap not overly huge, few people talk about it, and then we earn small to revcover our loses or
Bitcoin should get the hype, price hits record high, people start to invest huge amounts, banks, media and governments get alarmed again, and then more bans, FUD, and strong regulations. Let's share ideas

That's some weird logic. What do you think is happening when price is increasing, more people are investing, media attention/FUD, governments issuing warnings, regulations? Adoption. Bitcoin did start off as a niche currency, all the above things happening are part of it becoming much more than that. Bitcoin should stay low and a few people should talk about it and that too for what, recovering losses ;D

Well, I don't invest in Bitcoin just to recover my losses. I want it to rise, and make good profits. The more people will invest in it, the more people will talk about it, the more government might be able to legalize it, and the easier it will be to use Bitcoin.

I don’t know if someone will do agree on that opinion.. It’s more of who will invest in bitcoin if that is the case and it will also affect the popularity of it.. I prefer a high price that with constant support to have a much more stable movement.. Let the government react on things they they can’t control,, we already know what they’re after and those bankers just ignore them that’s the best solution..

This is an interesting point of view, for now, the bitcoin has caused attention in many countries, so even if the bitcoin at a lower price, they will still have a law to limit the cryptocurrency market.

governments doing action for crypto because of taxation, they know how big money. Is involving here day by day, even price drops or hype whats important is the implementation of each policy they wanted to put on us.

This thing cannot be predicted exactly, but what i think is that the price will not continue to stay in low price. Even it has started increasing, and will increase lot more in upcoming months.

Every investor would want a profit in place of investment, like me. To answer your question I want to bitcoin price to drop, so I will buy bitcoin with all my money, then I expect bitcoin price to soar and I will sell it, right your think if that situation happened will make the various countries worry about that and bitcoin price will weaken again, and I will buy it. I think it will be a profitable cycle for me.

Your investment intention is very risky. I think you should look at your plan carefully. In the crypto market, nothing can certainly profit you. Anything that can happen, I advise you to thoroughly explore the bitcoin news and technology to ensure your investment.
Be a smart investor and get a lot of success.

Yeah, as much as people want to think "the big man" will always be expected to go against their wishes, one has to say that only ten years after Bitcoin's emergence, the situation with the way states/media/whoever else you want to see as the potential bad guy, could be far, far worse than it is today. In fact, even during the early years, a lot more institutions warmed up to the ideas that Bitcoin proposed, than most would have expected.

But to OP's question, as irrational as it seems... I'd definitely opt for Bitcoin staying "low" right now (crazy how 10k is considered low!0 for a little while, gathering stability and preparing for a slow and steady move upwards. But we all know Bitcoin is anything but steady and immobile...

I agree that Bitcoin's price will rise. However, I doubt that this will happen in the next few months. Bitcoin not so long ago experienced a sharp decline, it is just beginning to return to the growth trends. News from China and South Korea make investors wait with large investments in this crypto currency. So the main thing for Bitcoin now is stability, not growth.

I prefer the latter. What we need is continuous adoption. So we don't need to convert back to fiat when buying something we need. These FUDs and Government interventions are natural for something that is going mainstream. We just have to get used to them.

i am sorry to disappoint you but that is not something that can happen whether you like it or not.
bitcoin is constantly growing and because of that the price is constantly rising. sometimes this rise is huge and fast which means it should be followed by a correction (which is basically a drop) but even during drops the adoption is growing and the bottom of it is growing (a higher low).

My opinion if bitcoin price to stay in low price is that there is no meaning on it because the way I understand the situation, many people will no longer invest on bitcoin. What makes bitcoin more popular because when it pump, surely there is a great impact for the investors on their investment to gain more profit.
Perhaps I would agree if this will be only just in short term period to consider this as an opportunity to invest btc at a much lesser price.

For those who bought Bitcoin at $ 18,000 or $ 20,000, a low price is not an option. But, in general, I liked the time when about Bitcoin was not spoken on the streets and housewives were not traders / investors.

I think you got it all wrong. The number of investors does not depends on the price hitting the record high because they are already familiar that bitcoin can do that. Plus, why will you invest at the time of the pumping? The only thing you got right is that the government will be alarmed again if the  price of bitcoin increases but that is only a small thing and bitcoin can surely adapt to that as it did in the past years of its existence.

i prefer neither of these things you are talking about.

instead i want a bitcoin that is adopted by people who understand it and don't busy themselves with silly notions which are waste of their time such as market cap, low or high price,....
if you start getting more familiar with bitcoin you will also stop asking these silly questions and know that low price is not possible anymore. ;)

Its really a paradoxical situation but I think I prefer this situation where the price is low and there is no much noise all over the space where its about bringing down and warnings about the impending doom that is about to happen. There is no doubt that the noise that happen towards the end of last year makes several people skeptical because the movement is just too sporadic and worst of all, there is no significant basis for that to happen. While I was happy you wake up in the morning and see your bitcoin left at $100 increased to $180 but I knew its not sustainable which is why I prefer this. Lets take it slow and steady before we know, we will all the to that coveted point and surpass it.

the low price of bitcoin will not continue because of its price rises as the investor expects a bitcoin to grow and its users also increase so the bitcoin price will increase in the next few days due to the bitcoin price increases and decrease continues.

Of course, I want value of Bitcoin to increase. I am investing and holding a substantial amount of Bitcoin in my cold storage wallet. It makes no sense for you to want Bitcoin to stay with a smaller market cap. What is bad about a large market cap again?

are you sure it will happen ?? in my opinion bitcoin will not remain at that price .. because bitcoin crypto is fluctuating where a time will always change
Yeah I am quite sure that Bitcoin will increase in price soon and gradually but it will take some time before we see significant changes in the price. But you are correct about the fluctuating bit. All cryptocurrencies are volatile.

not easy to predict with bitcoin prices, since last month its price has dropped significantly, but the price that happened on that month is relatively stable and I think it is good to do transaction.
but whether the price will be so, I think will return to the price at the end of the year in the next month.
low bitcoin prices are still enjoyed as well as high prices, nothing changes with bitcoin.

Or it gets high no one can pridect what will happen in the future if the bitcoin price will stay low its okay as long as its always at its consistent price.it is better if it rich high price but too high because if it will consistently high its too risky.

Why would you want bitcoins price to stabilize in low price. People invest in bitcoin because they want high profit. In terms of covering losses, there are other ways to recover your losses. Go for altcoins that have a good price when sold. Likewise, because of bitcoin high price, many will encourage to invest and join the community. With its popularity, governments regulation is part of the system.

Although you have thoroughly elaborated on the benefits of bitcoin price staying low; but I think it wouldn't favour some of us who are investing in bitcoins if the price should continuously stay low. Price must increase to help investors generate enough returns on their investment

No matter what the price of bitcoin I will be happy about it because of it's technology but if it goes lower It would be a once in a lifetime opportunity to fill up my bags and hold for long term. It would probably goes up as it is slowly being adopted and being known by a lot of people. for day to day use I prefer bitcoin at a lower price because it is a little hard to calculate with all the decimals it has.

I really prefer that the price is very high and be a price that justifies itself. something that represents mass adoption, but of course this is only my preference and it is difficult to predict the price, you just see that up to months ago the price was  $19000 and today the price is $10700. Before I used a few bitcoins to buy my refills for my cell phone and today I use more bitcoins to buy my refills for my cell phone.

Having a very high price is very beneficial when you change to fiat, I personally want to get into the mining and know the technical part of bitcoin, so I see price increases as a great recognition of this technology and its usability

Which do you prefer?
Bitcoin should get the hype, price hits record high, people start to invest huge amounts, banks, media and governments get alarmed again, and then more bans, FUD, and strong regulations. Let's share ideas

Hmm... this is a very pessimistic view, governments are doing their part and we need to overcome governments, we can only do this if we show the advantages of this technology. It is true that there are governments that are are dictators and these governments already repress their own people and should not use bitcoin as reasons that they are worried about money laundering and that their people can lose money.

You know what, you have some really valid points. But I guess we cannot control the growth of Bitcoin because it highly depends on the people's support. The value of Bitcoin is unstoppable even if we want it to remain on a sideward movement because day by day some big number of new-comers to the Bitcoin community is being added. And then the reaction of the enemies of Bitcoin will always be negative and again FUDs after FUDs are released. But then again, it won't take long. The real price of Bitcoin will always come to the surface.

I don`t think bitcoin should continue in low price because if you are a trader of either bitcoin or altcoin the thing you want is to have bitcoin grow higher, as we know altcoin`s price also depends on the price of bitcoin because they are connected with each other. When the bitcoin goes down, same as through with altcoin and when bitcoin`s price rise up, altcoin will go up as well.

For those people who try to accumulate more BTC it is better to price stay low so they can buy/earn more with time,I think that's logical. But if you have large amount of BTC and intention to sell them at the highest possible price it is logical that you want to increase prices as much as possible.

Commonly opinion is that slow growth is better and healthier way,but hunger for profit is endless and most users just want to see new ATH,sell and buy back when correction occurs. There is nothing wrong in it, this is simple in human nature.

The question is simple,do you want that BTC become a stable currency that we can use anywhere and anytime or you want that BTC is only pump&dump scheme from wich mainly profit those who are the richest?

Actually the nature of bitcoin is act like a sun that has sunrise and sunset. In the life of bitcoin business, not totally all people have the same decision making and decision planning, some people want price stay at the top level because they are keep on joining campaigns without investing, some people also wants the price movements which quickly down and up, because when price go down they immediately invest large amount of capital and they sell immediately when price go higher again.

Hi,

I guess none of the two options is the best one.

If we keep the community small... Well projects will remain small, they will be hard to share and developped tools hard to spread.

But on the other hand, in your second scenari, we completely lose the concept of "autonomous regulation" that bitcoin was all about.

I want many people to become bitcoinner, but I don't want any large institution. And I know, I am naive when I write that...  :-\

The way you think is wrong. How do you expect bitcoin to evolve so that everyone can make profit out of it when the price goes up if the price always stays low and a very few people are using it? Bitcoin price has to go up because this is the only way more people are going to invest in it so that bitcoin will get more popular and become a great currency that everyone can use.

It is true that if the price goes up very much, more and more people are going to buy it and this will alert the governments, banks and FUD but eventually that has to happen. Bitcoin cant avoid a dispute with governments and it is just a matter of tine until they are going to do something against it. Sooner or later bitcoin will become a problem for banks and governments and they will try to regulate it

Most governments in the world are afraid of Bitcoin because Bitcoin can ruin their economy and this is very dangerous for the whole human race. But on the positive side, Bitcoin brings a lot of benefits. All over the world, Bitcoin is considered a global payment medium because every transaction is anonymous and can easily be bought on the item you like.

It shouldn't because this would be disadvantageous for traders and bitcoin would stop growing if it were to stay at a low price. Bitcoin was meant to increase in value and this is the reason why people continue to hold it. If it stays at a low price, it may eventually crash. It's okay for the price to settle at a certain level instead of rapidly always shooting up but it the price movement should always go up.

Of course it should not. Because it it will continue to stay in a low price, what will happen to us? I'm pretty sure that we will suffer from that especially if we are investing bigger amount in bitcoin and we cannot gain, right? We all believe that bitcoin price will go higher and higher and if it will continue to stay in a low price, I don't think people will stay and keep on investing if that would happen. People will surely going to stop investing their money if bitcoin price will continue to stay in a low price.

Bitcoin should get the hype, price hits record high, people start to invest huge amounts, banks, media and governments get alarmed again, and then more bans, FUD, and strong regulations. Let's share ideas
We also consider that ones bitcoin price go higher the more scam and FUDs may exist.  But in the opposite thing,  a lot of people may invest in here cause they think it is growing and gaining  more profit.
There's a lot of speculation on Bitcoin though the price is only going to move if we put the money in there. There's is a lot of time for Bitcoin.

If one product price stays the same then there is no thrill in trading with Bitcoin because it looks like an ordinary thing like the others, it make the world of BTC exited and challenging if the price stays volatile.

What you say makes sense for me and it's a hard decision to make. We must give up the "anoymity" and confort to have high prices and high adoption, but if we want to keep flying under the radar, with must give up the high prices and adoption. Well, it's a natural process and it's out of our control, but if I could choose I'm reaching to the conclusion it would be better to stay with lower prices and consequently less attention from the media and governments...

My opinion on Bitcoin price as of now is still in good stability the price stay at $10k to $11k sometimes upto $12k price hype working up and down movement of btc price in the marketcap, is a good sign Bitcoin slowly working up and down their, i also assume the highest hype for Bitcoin to get great earning return for long term hodl.

Everyone who invest in bitcoin has different reasons but one reason for sure why they invest because they want to gain more profit. But if the bitcoin price continue to stay in a lower price they can't achieve their goals. But at this time bitcoin price are quite stable at $11000 which good,it is not too law. I believe one day it will increase fast more than our expectation and speculations.

I dont know if im missing something but you're basically saying that we should keep bitcoin on the shadows, just so it will continue to be what it is? I think the best choice, is to just let it grow naturally. Let the prices hit record high, then it will enter correction etc. Adoption means, going through all this highs and lows and that's okay. In the long run it's all worth it.

For all the crypto currency and bitcoin in particular, it will be better if bitcoin does not increase too much in its value. The higher the cost of bitcoin, the closer it will be to the attention of different governments, and the greater the restrictions on walking will be imposed upon it, as states will be afraid of its drastic depreciation due to the fact that its bloated bubble may burst.

Actually the investors will wait for this movement to buy more coins and if you are an investor don't expect sudden profit from any investment. you have to wait then only you can earn good profit. Now the crypto market is stable but very soon it will take charge.

Correct, I've read some news that bitcoin's price is going to skyrocket again this mid year and I'm going to wait for it and not going to make any naive move like doing panic selling since there are no reason to do so. Buying bitcoins now because the price is low is a good move and would be going to be profitable in the long run.

I prefer natural and organic growth, but then you wouldn't have the volatility and swings of the market. In my opinion, it is those exact swings that make the markets profitable and provide some uncertainty, which is necessary for free markets. How boring would Bitcoin be if from start to finish it progressed upwards in a linear fashion? It would be immensely boring, and there is a reason why that isn't what the graph currently looks like!

Well, I don't invest in Bitcoin just to recover my losses. I want it to rise, and make good profits. The more people will invest in it, the more people will talk about it, the more government might be able to legalize it, and the easier it will be to use Bitcoin.
Once we have invested money in bitcoin, only one our hope is price increasing to take profit. But we have to undesrtand that in price movement, there are uptrend, down trend and sideway. In Uptrend price  tends to go up suddendly and strongly and the other way for down trend. While for sideway, price will move slowly and in small amount of movement. This phase is call as consolidation time. What we need and expect is a a good price stability. There is a low price, high price and middle price. These three levels of price will change any time based supply and demand in the market.

In my own opinion I would prefer it when Bitcoin is at a low price, because what happened earlier this year has really hurt many people. With more and more people investing in Bitcoin, at such a high price, and accompanied by prohibitions in a country that eventually dropped the bitcoin price. Really for me, better at such a low price in the past. Although little that we can, at least no loss.

This is not how bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies should work. This is naturally an unstable market and pumps and dumps are not just some peculiar phenomena happening, these are natural occurences in digital world. The decrease in bitcoin price are meant for investors' time to buy and the increase is meant for selling. We don't wait for the rise to recover losses. That is not the primary goal, but to gain and multiply money.

Some investors prefer bitcoin in low price rather than investing in high price. But of course, they invest bitcoin to be able to have large amount of profit. That means they wouldn't want to lose all their money and efforts they sacrificed just to get little amount out of it. Also, before risking their money they were aware that bitcoin's price is volatile. They were ready beforehand that it has 50% probability that their money would cost nothing.

if very low, it will be a lot of investors and users are harmed, and the effect on the market will be quiet of the trader.

if very high or hype, it will be a lot of intervention from some parties, who do not like bitcoin, so it might make bitcoin drops to the point of abnormal.

This is an interesting point of view, for now, the bitcoin has caused attention in many countries, so even if the bitcoin at a lower price, they will still have a law to limit the cryptocurrency market.
There are number of people who are taking a keen interest in crypto currencies including the high officials of different governments but the point is the market value of bitcoin cannot remain this much low for all the time and that it will surely rise in the near future. In fact, the graph of the market value of the bitcoin has already started turning out green and that it will help the people in having more profit later on.

I think bitcoin price is better stable or the price increase but not too high, so we still get a profit. Meanwhile, when bitcoin price soars, the government will definitely tighten the rules of bitcoin. In addition there are certainly parties who do not like the existence of bitcoin. This will also affect the growth of bitcoin and also can make the bitcoin price down. So I hope the bitcoin stays stable and has normal growth.

It's true that the incredible price increase from 1K to 20K causes a lot of buzz around Bitcoin. People start calling it a bubble, institutions began warning against it, governments now want to regulate. This is the negative side, Bitcoin could be centralized instead of decentralized, what we would all prefer. However, that doesn't mean the price should stay 'low' around 10K. The sleeping dogs are already awake, so the price may as well increase.

Well, that will never happen. Bitcoins price will always rise and fall because of its fixed supply.  As bitcoin is getting more popular, many people are investing to it thus making the price go up. Whenever the price go down a bit, many people are afraid that it will drastically go down so they sell their holding and makes the price go down further.

Indeed, if bitcoin is to grow rapidly in price, as it was in December of last year, this may cause some defensive responses from some countries that will restrict its circulation and establish new rigid rules. The fact is that everyone understands that if bitcoin is not provided with anything and actually grows in price only by increasing the speculative demand for it, then this is an ordinary financial bubble that can burst at any time. And given its high cost, caused as a result of possible depreciation bitcoin damage can be huge for citizens of any state, especially those where bitcoin is very popular.

Technically if you are looking it as a payment system then it should remain stable for the long term, however as we all know this is not practically possible as the number of people using Bitcoin is growing day by day whereas we have a limited number of Bitcoins so eventually the price will rise. I am expecting it to rise with the sustainable rate instead of rising overnight. Speculation makes it difficult to grow at a sustainable rate in my opinion.

It could be good if the price is not so low and not so high for the moment, as what you have said there are so many regulators hunting for the bitcoin and its problem spread to the community. But the fact that most company gain billions of revenue and shared to the people like what a Chinese company did, that widens the eye of US legislator and trigger the search for their share in the technology.

I think that is is good for Bitcoin that it had decreased. We don't have to rush, fees are really low so it is a good time to move your funds with multiple inputs since it might be to expensive for you in the future. People need to calm down, Bitcoin price has been growing so fast that many people started to believe that Bitcoin is a huge bubble. Now we have to focus on making Bitcoin faster and better. SegWit adaptation is growing and the Lightning Network is also being work on. It is a matter of time before it will start to increase again, we have to be prepared.

To the eye of investors probably they want to invest in a low price then sell it in the peak price, So basically they want to get more profit. Bitcoin is very attractive that is why the government want to put a tax to those bitcoin holders.

I think bitcoin is better at medium price because if the spike is too high it makes big turmoil and makes the global economy becomes rowdy better there is no high spike and keep it better
