It is very important for a person entering into college to choose the right course. I did experience that, in fact, the degree that i had finished in college is my 3rd course already, spending seven years in college to be exact. So I strongly encourage students to choose a course that you really want, force yourself to choose something that will make you happy at the end of the course.

You have to put a lot of thought into choosing your course because it'll have a huge impact in the future. I'm not saying that you'll be limited only to what you studied but if it isn't the right choice for you, you would be wasting years learning about things you're not really interested in. So I guess the only advice I can give is think about where your interests are and what job you would be comfortable having in the future.

It's easy to suggest but as a student it's hard to decide.
I was naive and so were my parents on choosing a course. I went with one and ended up making another field my career.
Though I don't regret having that course, it's of zero use to my current job.

I am also one having a struggle choosing a course when I was at my College days, I don't really know what I want, but I really like things about computer. I enrolled ending up with accounting and I didn't finish that course. Accounting is what my mother wants for me, but I really don't like that course. If I were you, don't choose a course that you don't like.

I was undecided before going to college so I took what my parents want. I just realized I'm not happy or motivated studying the course. I suggest you should plan what course you want especially when you're still young. Follow your dreams and choose what makes you happy or feel motivated in studying the chosen course. If you're still undecided, talk with different college students with different courses you know and ask them how it feels like studying their course.

In my country most of undecided students goes to vocational courses due to lack of opportunity for selecting what they wanted, then eventually they regret it. Even they want to become a professional they don't have a financial capability for supporting their studies therefore I think it matters on your ability to support your needs.

There are ways and tips for a student to choose a course to take easily.First, you must know your passion. Taking a course would need further support and willingness from your heart. Taking a course that is against your will would be hard for you to enjoy. Also, you must know what is in demand and is suitable for you and for your needs.

Nowadays, choosing a course in college is one of the main problem of many student, and sometimes if they are undecided in what course should they take, it will end up in a course your parents want you to take.

So, I suggest you should devise a three course you want to took in college and then pick the course that will suit in your ability, interest and you  enjoy to study it. Choose a course you loved and will suit your skills. And also you should pick a University, College or Institute that have a good quality of education in terms of the course you want

When I was on the time that i'll be going to choose my course for my college degree. I felt so hard picking the right course that will you think that your parents can be supported that they can be afford to that field of study. So for me i'll decided to choose a course with a smart thinking with a positive picking bachelor's degree. First I let my parents know what was my fields that I really wanted to go by and if they think that they cant afford that I will going to proceed on the 2nd choose so that I will discuss to them that this course will be going to be a not too much expensive but I cant be promise that ill be going to complete all the subjests to pass on time something like like because for me taling college is very expensive especially when you are in a university that has so many requirments so that you will be going to pay for this for that all courses are expensive and all courses are hard too study so that making this course be done always remember that this will be going your profession in life and you are lucky to be in a college degree so that choose wisely be smart.

Choosing a course might look difficult but it should not. You'll just have to know what do you love to do and to keep on doing til you age. But then, when these problems come across like financial capability choosing a course will be hard. It's like choosing between what is right or what is practical. So better think twice. If you'll choose a course that you love, be ready to make extra effort to finish it.

The guide is always based on ones favourite courses or courses you have flair for.
That is an indication of where your talent, skill and career may reside.Take time to
understand your area of excitement, interest and hobby. This shall undoubtedly guide
you in the choice course of study than comparing yourself with others who obviously
have a different calling from yours.People should learn to study what makes them happy
and what improves their self esteem and what satisfies their quest to life.

You have to be specific on what interests you the most, it may sound or look complicated at first since
it is your foundation to starting a career afterwards. Avoid peer pressure, talk to your parents about
suggestions if you have no clue. You can go to different colleges and ask what courses are offered and
inquire more finer details you wish to know. Sometimes it does takes time for it to build inside you,
to realize what you really wanna do and pursue. Be honest to yourself and ask if your curious. Evaluate
yourself the most, question yourself and try to really feel if the course you try pick is the one for you or not.

You should choose that fits or make you enjoy while doing it like hobbies, interest, or goals. If you don't have a goal even you finish the degree you don't like it will be useless in the end.

You should choose a course that is what you want to be , not want by anybody else. And you should choose a course that will fit in you and in your skill. Because choosing the right course in college is for you to have in the future. Your own skill is important in choosing the course you want to be in the future. It can make your life at ease when you graduated from it and have a decent work .

actually you do not need courses or private lessons. if you do not have enough money, you just spend money. now you can use the internet, of course it will save your expenses to learn. if you still choose for the course, you should strengthen the intention you to be serious. because all the science must have an expensive price.

In our country, before you enter college there will an exam called NCAT. This exam will determine your good and bad points in regards to choosing your course in college. I based my course in that exam and it led me to my current work. In some ways, it is helpful in narrowing your key points to choose from but you gotta ask yourself if it really is your passion.

Each course is a unique mix of many different ingredients — from the subjects covered, to the student body, to the end career it leads to. You can use these points as a checklist of things that you need to find out about courses of interest.

There are many factors to consider when you are weighing up courses and the institutions that offer them, but the key considerations include:

What you will learn
How you will be learning it
The conditions and cost
The end result

For some courses you won't have much choice because the exact options are only available at a limited number of institutions, some are no choice as they are studying with scholarship that is limited. passion can also be learn if you are willing to love that course. whereas, given the opportunity to go schooling, we have to take it seriously coz sooner or later you will begin to love it.

That is something to really think about. I believe your time in highschool really sets you up for what you want to do in college. Since there are alot of subject matters, extracurricular clubs and others that could help you out with choosing a career in college. If you're in your junior high, join as much clubs as you can yo get a feel for what you want to do. You could also look at the things that you can easily do. Find the thing that you're really passionate about and talk it out with your counselor. Lastly, whatever you decide is your own not your family's or anyone else. You will have to live with that decision for life.

On choosing a course is a very difficult decision because this will reflect what you are in the future and what profession you will be. First on your highschool days, what subject do you excel? This will give you an idea on choosing your course. Example if you excel on your math subject maybe the course you shall take is Engineering or Accountancy or BS Mathematics.

In choosing a course, you must follow your heart first before anybody else. You are the one who will face the struggles of the course so you should have it because it os your passion. No matter how in demand a course is, if it is not what you want, you will be just wasting your time and it will be hard for you to enjoy it.

It is difficult to choose what course we will pick but you should pick the one that you are good. What I mean is the course that is related to your skills or the one that you love to do in the future. If you choose course you don't like at the first place, you are wasting time or effort going to school and the result at the end will shift you to another course.

Examine yourself, take a look at your talents and skills, and on where you are good at. With that, I think you could know where your career is going. Besides, it's not hard to choose this time, there are exams taken by students before they could take their Senior High School and I think that's a good basis on which course you should take.

However, you should always think about your parents, they could be against your choice if is far from what they've taken during their college days. So you should try to consider their advice, especially if your parents have engaged in business and soon you'll be the one doing what they are doing right now.

Know what your strengths and weaknesses, firstly. And if you would truly enjoy your job lined up with the course.
Know if the course has like "stability" for the future or how wanted and needed employees of that job. For example, investing on engineering course or anything infrastructure is pretty good as there will always be a need for buildings. And anything lined on industry employment is kind of a hardship as technology gradually replaces manpower :)

In choosing a right course for you.You must look at the prospects of the course before selecting one,and there are a lot of factors to consider.

First factor is your parents income or your own income to provide what you need.
Second the responsibility  and commitment of that course that you take up.and other benefits of that course that will help you into your near future.

To decide what course to choose, it really depends on what you aim for college. If the purpose of college is just to get a high paying job, you should choose a course that offers career prospects with a large salary. Oil and gas industry sector for example, this sector does offer salaries above average. If you want to work in this sector, maybe majors Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering.
My advice, please do research in advance course that you will choose. Make sure you know exactly what courses will be learned in the course. Do not get stuck with the name of the course. Find out also, job prospects of the course, alumni profiles, and so on.
As much as possible, choose the course according to your passion.

Choose a course that is highly demanded by the market today. Take into consideration also if you can afford the course you are planning to take and a course that you know in your mind that you can finish.

It is very important for a person entering into college to choose the right course. I did experience that, in fact, the degree that i had finished in college is my 3rd course already, spending seven years in college to be exact. So I strongly encourage students to choose a course that you really want, force yourself to choose something that will make you happy at the end of the course.

I have the same story with you but me i have 2 course and spending 4 years in college but i didnt complete any of the two because the 2 course i get enrolled is not for me, the one course i entered is my parents choice and the other one is my choice but i dont think im fit in that course, until i get pregnant and didnt finished college :(
So better choose course that what you know you can fit in, better choose course in what you are good with so that you cant waste money and time searching for a good course for you :)

the best way to choose your course is that first find your passion and then act accordingly. if u are intrested in engineering and the demand if the doctors is higher then refuse that work because its not your passion and your passion makes u successful not your degree.

You have to put a lot of thought into choosing your course because it'll have a huge impact in the future. I'm not saying that you'll be limited only to what you studied but if it isn't the right choice for you, you would be wasting years learning about things you're not really interested in.

Choose a course that you like and that you think could help you in your future. Don't a course to please your parents or anyone else. If you hesitate between several courses, talk to older students to get their opinions on the course they chose.

Sometimes the course that the college students take, the parents is the one who decides. What is appropriate course and useful for their children. In fact its not fair for their children. This is the reason why other students did not finish their studies. For me, students should take the courses they want and they have passion on it. Choose the right course that you desired the most. The most important consideration when choosing your course is asking yourself why you are looking to study.

Do you want to further your career by extending your skill set? If this is the case you should choose a course in a subject that is a natural progression of your existing skills and qualifications. If the aim is to progress further with your current employer selecting a course that is relevant to your work is recommended. Discussing study options with your peers, colleagues or employer can help to determine what qualification will help with your career.

Another is that, choose a course that excites you to study everyday. Your course must be related to your passion in life. But then if you’re the practical one, choose a course that’s in demand so that i’ll be easyfor you to find a job.

It's easy to suggest but as a student it's hard to decide.
I was naive and so were my parents on choosing a course. I went with one and ended up making another field my career.
Though I don't regret having that course, it's of zero use to my current job.
Its not easy to choose a course but you must know it what really you want to take, otherwise you may failed and you may regret at the end.

I've noticed a lot of students been struggling in choosing what course to take in college. Do you have any tips for it?
In choosing your course in college, you should consider the following:
1. What are things you are interested about?
2. What courses are related to things you are interested about?
3. Among those courses choose one that is closest to your heart, so you will never regret your choice.

Title: Re: Tips on choosing a course
Post by: joms123 on April 03, 2018, 11:48:04 AM
Before choosing a course, ask yourself the following questions:

1. What are you interested in?
2. What career do you want to pursue?
2. Is your course needed or going to be needed in the marketplace? Is somebody willing to pay you for it? or can you earn a desired living doing that?
Once you have answered the above questions, choosing a major becomes very simple. Now, the toughest part is to immerse yourself into learning. Affording the high priced education we have today is also a challenge, so you must have a strategy of how you are going to afford college in addition to making sure that you do well in school.

Goodluck and Godbless :)

Tips on choosing a course
This write up is all about tips on making the right choice on course to study. Passion is an important element when it comes to choosing a course because the secret to happiness is being able to love whatever path you choose in life as career.
However, to get things in the right direction one have to choose from the beginning the right course at the right university or college and you will be inspired to succeed.
The question that always comes to mind is how do you choose the right course? Here are the Top 6 tips on choosing your right course in other to excel in life.

Tip No.1 WHY DO YOU WANT TO STUDY?

There are reasons why people want to study. It is either to extend existing skill set, to change career or diversify their knowledge. Therefore, it is very important when considering choosing a course to sit back and ask yourself why you are looking to study. Ask yourself that question and be sure you find an answer to it before further actions.
Your answer no doubt may fall into one of these areas mentioned above.
•   To extend your skill set: if you intend to study to acquire more skill to be more qualified in your profession or to grow higher with your current employer then choosing a course that is relevant to your profession or work is recommended. One other thing that really helps is discussing the right choice of course with friends or colleagues of same profession or employer.

•   To change career or diversify your knowledge: if your intension is to completely change career path or diversify your knowledge consider choosing a course. And because education and studying are expensive, so be sure you properly carry out a research on any prospective career.
Summarily, prior to taking decision on what course to choose make sure you; think about your existing experience and skill set; Consider prospective careers and employment opportunities; Think about what subjects interest you; and  also talk to your employer, colleagues or peers about which courses are relevant.

TIP NO.2 WHAT ARE YOU REALLY INTERESTED IN?
Interest in taking up any course of study comes in diverse ways. Therefore, it is really important to think and examine yourself about what you are interested in. It is also important to know what course you want to study. Are you interested because you can see your glittering career ahead? Or are you interest because your parents are interested? Pondering on these questions now, you can work things out and choose the right course for yourself.
TIP NO.3 WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE TO STUDY?
Where to study is another thing when it comes to choosing a course. You have search for the best country to specialize in this subject area of your interest.  Maybe it’s a country with massive internship and graduate work opportunities in that industry or a city that has access to specific resources. For instance, if your interest is in marine biology, why not head straight to the world’s largest coral reef in Australia and take up the study right at the source? There is another good question to ask yourself like; where in the world would you love to live for a few years? Studying outside your country gives one with a better opportunity to learn a new language and a new culture, make new friends, and experience a different way of life. If you are happy with yourself, you will be happy to study because the level of happiness in your life will play a major impact in your study.
TIP NO.4 TAKE A REALITY CHECK
This is what to do, take a reality check now that you have found your dream. You know why you want to study, what to study and the country to go for the study. Now the right questions to look for their answers are:
•   Can you afford the flights?
•   Can you afford the tuition and cost of living?
•   Do you need to have certain qualifications first – English language proficiency, GMAT scores?
However, don’t get discouraged, a pathway program may be all you need to scale through those challenges. If this really is your passion, you have to prove it in your scholarship application and financial help will come your way.
At this point what will come to your mind is how long you want to spend for the study which is dependent on the duration of the program of interest. For example we have Postgraduate Certificate which runs for six (6) months, Undergraduate Degree for (3) years, MA for one (1) year, and PhD for four (4) years.
TIP NO.5 REDUCE YOUR OPTIONS
It is quite important to streamline your bogus list to four or five in number to enable you have fewer and better practical choices. This actually takes a lot of research. While researching, there different criteria to judge universities and courses you will definitely come across which include school ranking or prestige, research facilities, practical experience and internships, cost of tuition, student support services, safety, social life, chance to travel.  A StudyLink course search is a good guide to make use of. Read through student blogs to see what it’s really like. Most times  glossy prospectuses don’t always tell you the full story, so there is need for you to interact with people you know who have studied in that country or city about what it’s really like.
TIP NO.6 YOUR OWN STUDY PATTERN
Obviously, one cannot tell lies to him or herself even when you try to do that, you already know you are lying.  Hopefully, you have some idea by now of how you prefer to study. .  Practically, some people prefer final exams, others like regular assignments to keep them busy throughout the year. Some like theory, others like practical hands-on application, some like to work in groups, others like to work individually. Some like verbal presentation of their assignment; others prefer to create written reports. However, choose a course that will match your pattern of study, and you will perform very well and be more confident in yourself. Or, if you want to challenge yourself, choose a course that will take you out of your comfort zone!

In our country,  we have already the K to 12 curriculum wherein after graduating from high school,  students will be enrolled in senior high school. This is another 2 years of schooling before they can proceed to college. In this 2 years the students will choose the course that she want to. This is their preparation to college. The.main factor of choosing a course is the capabilitynof parents to enroll their children in a choaen field. If they cant afford it,  they have no other choice but to take any course that suits their budget.

To choosing a course in a college, choose according to your interests because if you go through something with a sense of fun it will feel easy, otherwise if you run it with a sense of unhappiness it will feel heavy / burdened. it is not easy to determine interest, especially if our interests conflict with the expectations of your parents.

To choose the right course, you must ask yourself what are you really interested in. It’s really important to think about what you are interested in and not what others want you to choose. You Must also think where do you want to study. Think of the school that will give a good education of your chosen course. You should also Focus on the detail. Every subject has so many different options, so it’s good to know the most specific interest you have.

I've noticed a lot of students been struggling in choosing what course to take in college. Do you have any tips for it?

For you to choose the best course, you must know your passion and you should know the things that you love doing. Better choose a course that you love not a course that others want for you or the course that your friends want because after all, it is you who will face and do the course alone not our friends or your parents.

Choosing a course to take up in college is kinda hard really because some of students havent yet decided of which course they wanna take. Some students are still wondering what course they fit.My tip is think lots of times what type of course you wanted.Ask yourself if you can make it without any regrets at the end.If you think that course is right for you and you like it then grab it because if you choose a course and you arent interested in it for sure you will regret everything.Choose a course that makes you happy.

My opinion on this is that you MUST first find out what it is that you love doing. What is your passion. And many people will say, I don't know what is my passion, or I don't have passion to do anything. But the key is to explore yourself. If you do not know what to choose, the best thing you can do is take some time to figure out where does your passion lay.Take a few years and try things. And I don't think just try it for a day and move to the next one. Try doing things for several months at a time. Maybe you'll discover that you are a developer at heart, maybe you'll discover you like to write poems. Whatever it is, when you find it, you'll know what it is by the way it feels. It will feel so easy and you'll be so immersed while doing it, that the time will just fly. You will stay up late because you can't stop working on it. I was lucky to discover that kind of passion for software dev early.

This is exactly what i followed while choosing my career path and i actually made the best decision because I enjoy what i am doing presently;
1) Assess Yourself (your weak and strong point)
2) Make a List of Occupations to Explore.(choose a career uou will be happy doing and not necessarily for money)
3)Explore the Occupations on Your List.
4)Create a "Short List" (Base ona scale of preferences)
5)Conduct Informational Interviews. ...
6)Make Your Career Choice. (Be sure you have done due diligence on 1-5)
7)Identify Your Goals. ...
Write a Career Action Plan.
All the best friend.

Choose the course what you desire and what you think are suited for you. The course you choose must not under the influence of your parents nor your friends cause it might turn you into a wrong choice of course.

Choose a course that is nearest to what interest you. Like me, I took up Information technlogy since I am into editing and programming. Choose a course that you really love and you will enjoy it.

Don't be too pushy, just select the preferred and really attractive. doing so would certainly be more comfortable and excited. This is important and not considered trivial because the convenience is a good thing.

It is important for students to have a goal or ambition so as to be prepared when they reach college. By doing such, it'll be easier for students to do what they want and to choose what course will they take. Some students nowadays are entering college without a definite goal which ended up taking a course they don't really like. This increases the rate of failing grades which will later cause them to shift courses.

Consider the field of work you would like to be in for the rest of your life. You have to think about the things you like genuinely because what you'll choose now will be what you'll be doing for a long time, but with pay. Choose the course which offers subjects which you like the most or good at. Also, if you are passionate about something you must consider in taking courses for it. Make your passion your job, then you'll be happy with pay.

In choosing a course, you should consider the future that you want to have and you want to be. Think of the profession or passion that you love and have it as a measurement and basis on choosing your course. It is better to follow your heart rather than the influence of the people around you.

Choosing a career is hard if you do not know what you really want. Determine first what your heart desire. Some people choose their career because of money yet they don't want it. For me, in choosing a career, you have to follow your heart. Because when you love what you do, you will definitely succeed in it then money will follow.

your choice must be made, not as the mind tells but as the heart commands, because after receiving an education not by your favorite profession you will be constantly upset (((as the philosopher said, find a job after the heart and you will not work a day))

This decision is always not easy but I think students have to listen to their hearts, not parents or friends. If you do what you like you always will do it well
