anyone know why ETH getting down?
is there any bad news on it?

I just think we are in a bearish market, it will pick up.

I dont think any bad News every coin is on down side shortly will reach to moon

Total capitalization of the market of a crypt falls therefore also Efirium falls. Also it is connected with ICO capitalization fall.

Maybe people are realising that there are better alternatives and they are getting in early before they moon. Ethereum has already shot up last year so this year it will be the turn of other smart contract altcoins such as NEO and LISK. Momentum is already shifting to NEO right now, LISK will happen later this year

Thanks for the opinion. I was also wondering the same thing. I might give NEO a chance.

Markets still recovering from the recent crash, it will flunctuate for some time but generally go towards an upwards direction. Just give it some time and it'll get back to where it was before. NEO definitely is the star recently...

This year ETH will be moving to POS.. when that happens, there will be a strong bull run for ETH.

In the mean time, ETH is like a sleeping giant and will rise and fall with the entire crypto market.

No one knows but there was news of one of the developers getting annoyed about something, could be that.

Personally I think it is just the market at the moment. When BTC reaches like 13k again you’ll probably start to see more alts getting value. Right now most people are gonna be hesitant to sell their bitcoin while it is down in comparison to what they bought it at.

Could be what others have also said, EOS is nearing release of its own block chain and neo is going from strength to strength

The value of cryptos are very unstable because  it’s mostly given by supply and demand flows and these in turn are very influenced by irrational factors and exaggerated expectations and news.

Inflections like the one in theese weeks have been frequent throughout crypto's market history. Honestly, I think crypto market is bullish this year, only started bearish just to show you teeth.

Ethereum, follows the market sentiment. However it held more, on average cryptocurrencies, so hold and be patient.

I am not surprised by this kind of situation but the worries overshadowed my mind, usually investor interest will rise again and will make the price of ETH / USD able to rise, even penetrate the price more than that. I think the price of ETH is most stable compared to other coin.

Bitcoin dominance is going up that's why ETH is going down. Traders would want to take the opportunity to profit in the increase of bitcoin that's why it would be a big opportunity to sell their ETH or any other altcoins and then buy more bitcoin. If you observed in the previous bitcoin runs, altcoins go down when bitcoin is going up so if you observe that the bitcoin dominance is slowly going up, you better sell your coin also and buy lower or if your coin is already down then you can buy more to average down if you have more funds.

There is no actual reason, Eth is good for long term holding, at the moment it is under bear pressure due to btc as btc is going upwards and its dominance is increasing so money from eth and alts is going to btc.

It has grown well lately. The price of the etherium reached 0.122 btc. I think now just is a correction. But do not be discouraged. This year the etherium is expected to have a lot of news. I think we will see a good price increase!  ;)

I think there is no bad news, because of the ICO market bubble has disappeared, then the relationship between supply and demand imbalance, ICO team started selling ETH to cash funds, so I think this is the main reason causing the ETH price drop.

I haven't heard the bad news. I think this is due to the fact that soon should rise in the price of bitcoin and everyone began to sell Altcoins to buy bitcoin.

I actually prefer it going down so I can buy later on.

In my personal observation, there's no bad news. It's just a reverse correlation with BTC. Probably many traders sell their ETH to buy BTC and ride it's train. ;)

If you create each time a topic with a price movement of 5%, then there will be a million of such topics. There are no major price changes at the moment. If suddenly the price really starts to drop significantly, then for me it will be a signal to buy.

Well, in my opinion there are several factors why it falls. The first is because of the correction and it will not always grow, the second is that now everyone is selling ETH and investing in other coins, so time is needed and he will go up again

ETH/BTC ratio just went from 0.03 to 0.12 and now is around 0.8. Traders doing their job, now seems BTC turn to raise, ETH and other coins will follow soon

I haven't read and heard any bad news or something like that about ETH.
But actually i dont even worry and it doesn't really bother me that ETH price is going down.
Isn't this considered normal in crypto market cycle ? it is all about demand and kind of  reversal correlation with BTC, when BTC rising then ETH is going down.

I haven't heard any negative news on eth too. So this is just a simple correction which is very common since many day traders are not holding there coins long term. Just hold it as it should rise soon. I also added more eth on my portfolio as I can smell alts pump soon.

Well, for others they feel unhappy about this news especially when they are bound to sell their ethereum coins but for some it's also a good news because it's a good time to grab to buy ethereum due to price dropping. We all have different interpretations about this matter and it's depend upon our situation of what well gonna  feel.

It is pretty much the same as any other coins. Cryptocurrencies are in price correction process right now and besides investors are not yet coming in.

Cryptocurrency consolidates, it can't just go up all the time, market need to gain power, to go up/down. And yes this year is very bad for trading crypto, as government warns people, the market is too volatile and they want to make cryptocurrency under control. So I guess until there will be a clear situation, with the government in all of the countries the price of crypto will not rise, as there are too many uncertain!

its only natural since you're living on a crypto world, there is volatility in altcoins same as bitcoin.
try to read some articles about cryptocurrency and you might learn something about it.

So far I haven't heard of a specific cause of the fall of the ETH , so i suppose that it will increase again soon and this sudden fall it's because the market is a bit unstable right now , so is normal to be some dumps right now.

I think, what eth is down - this short-term trend. In future, etherium will go only up, because he have good team developer, including Vitalik Butherin!

I strongly believe on this, we need corrections of course and I think bitcoin has something to do with the current market of altcoins. Almost altcoins are down, not just eth you'd better to be more patience and try to accumulate more ETH, this is a great coin and for sure you can have good profit in this soon.

That's only a little correction due to the increase of bitcoin price. It will be following bitcoin as soon as possible after bitcoin has done with its bullish trend. We will see another ATH again soon. etheruem may worth $1500 in the future.

It is normal in the market especially in ethereum, this is because the holder of ethereum sell their token that cause of falling. Especially those token that ethereum only is the available token to trade. I think you are a beginner in the field of cryptocurrency, ethereum down of almost $570 and compare to the price now it is high. In this situation it is good opportunity to the trader to buy and then hold again. Be patient, their is right time for buying and selling and don't panic cause it just normal.

Hey, you do not need to worry too much about it. ETH is a safe bet in the future. At times the market volatility makes the value go down is quite normal, maybe the amount of ETH sold out more than demand because of the need of investors. Or just a minor adjustment, it will soon return. Not necessarily concerned about its reasons. You will feel more comfortable.

I have not seen any news that has any impact on the ethereum but I think it is still in a state of fluctuations, it may increase or decrease at any time. The crypto market is recovering, though not strong, but it also shows good signs. And at the moment, the ethereum has shown some signs of a slight increase. Hopefully it will return soon and grow strongly

I have not seen any news with regards to ethereum of why it is going down. Maybe it was affected by the recent problem of etherdelta on their website. But aside from that i think everything is just normal

I guess, when bitcoin is down most cryptos and altcoins goes with the bitcoin. Remember bitcoin is king they said when he is up, all the altcoins  tend to go up also. when bitcoin is down, altcoins going down too. And now the market is down and bloody, which means bearish then dont wonder why ETH is down also. Eth is down with the rest of the cryptocurrencies.

I do not know why ETH falls, a very strange behavior that is likely based on some kind of news, but I can not say yet, because I have not heard anything about the project. Usually I expect only good news about the project, because now Vitalik is very active on ETH

Dont worry, this is just a normal situation happens every year, when the price of btc drops and brings down the entire market, ETH will be suffer heavy lost,  so rightnow, more people are investing in btc instead of ETH, but soon when btc is dump again, its volume will be reduce into ETH and ETH price will encrease in the future, this happpens every year.

But sometimes it seems that the altcoins are so dependent on the bitcoin's price, take the example before and during the month of December and some dates of January you can tell by looking at the market cap that they have a similarities in pattern, whenever bitcoin rise the same effect happens to some of the altcoins the same at the price drop, when bitcoin drops from 20k to 10k USD, it seems that most of the cryptocurrencies got their own red days.

I think same. But also noticed kinda FUD rumors spreading around about Ethereum, calling it "scam" without any comprehensive explanations.
May be this also affects ETH price somehow...

To my understanding not only Ethereum is getting down, even as far as I know some altcoins are dropping very drastically more than anybody can imagine and this is not based on hearing I have those altcoins.

Yup not only ethereum but few altcoin are going down while bitcoin are start rise up the market are performing abnormality we cannot really know what happen to this situation but this falling have a big pump up next trust ethereum it has great developer inside.

If the Bitcoin is going up, then all alter coins going down. When BTC going down, then alt are also going down. The BTC consolidation time is the best time frame to alt's journey. This was happens thousand time in crypto industry. This is cause to ETH price.

I don't think ethereum has significantly gone down in the past few days. It might have dropped a little bit but it is pretty fine, doesn't look that bad. Also even if there is a little bit of price drop, it would mostly be a short term thing,  so there is no reason to worry. Ethereum is a pretty stable coin and good for long term investments, these short drops should not affect, keep holding.

i think its because trader still watching and hold their btc,since btc at bearish condition.when btc already in stable condition,usually trader will start buying altcoin to follow btc price.

Eth isn't going down its just correcting after a multi bull rally. It can't just keep on pumping. Just in the last one year it has grown by astronomical figures. You just need to hodl for some time, you never know when it will surprise you.

I think your claim is a bit exaggerated. Ether is just doing like most other coins. Responding to the general market movement and condition. The prevailing fluctuation in the market is affecting almost all coins including ETH.

You should know by now that prices of crypto currencies are not stable. The prices don't need any reason to fall down or go up within a given time. Events that causes price rise or drop lasts for a long term. But unusual drops are temporary and usually recovers within a short period of time.

This is quite normal for stock trading. Ttraders buy cheaper and sell more expensive manipulating the price.

I think investors are focusing more on bitcoin rather then Ethereum. Bitcoin managed to stay above 11k support and this is a sign of good things for it. That may caused some investors to switch bitcoin from Ethereum. I can’t see any other specific reason for it to lose value.

The truth is that, etherum went down just like every other coin in the market.

The total market capitalization went down from 830 billion to 280 billion some weeks back before recovering and went to 450 billion(+) and this affected the total price of coins in the market.

Etherum is a solid coin with good fundamental, so I would advise you to hold your etherum as it would surely grow significantly this year.

Fully agree. I don't see reasons for ETH to drop down significantly. The market always begins to grow from BTC, so most alts don't rise until BTC stops.

One of the reasons may be that very wealthy players are often disconnected from working with cryptocurrencies on exchanges for various reasons. They can put an indecently decent amount of tokens for sale, which will cause the offer to exceed the demand for some time.

     Well, I currently have two issues in mind that I think are the reasons as to why the price of ethereum has been decreasing and remaining low(although I am not so sure about the second one). First reason I can think of is the drastic fall on the price of bitcoins which obviously affects the prices of all the altcoins out there and ethereum obviously is not exempted from this fall. Second reason is the split happening to mew which has been mew and gave birth to my crypto which are having a competition on who will be the best online crypto wallet out there.

The BTC also crashed,so it's normal for other alts to follow suit, as they in one way or the other all either rise or fall with the bitcoin. I think both coins ethereum and bitcoin would both bounce back,but it'll definitely take some time,we need to recover first before a bull run or stability.
