Title: khal / dot-bit.org Post by: nlovric on October 08, 2013, 06:38:19 PM I am filing scam accusations against khal (https://www.bitcointalk.org/?action=profile;u=4957). I have ordered and paid for the registration of lovric.bit at their Web site – www.dot-bit.org – and have received no response – even after contacting them via e-mail – for almost 3 weeks now.
This is the order payment instructions e-mail: Quote Return-Path: <www-data@dns.dot-bit.org> X-Original-To: neven@lovric.net Delivered-To: neven@lovric.net Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by mail-smtp01.edis.at (Postfix) with ESMTP id 9A81C8B323 for <neven@lovric.net>; Sat, 21 Sep 2013 08:47:00 +0200 (CEST) X-Virus-Scanned: by mail-smtp01 Virus-Scanner Received: from mail-smtp01.edis.at ([127.0.0.1]) by localhost (mail-smtp01.edis.at [127.0.0.1]) (amavisd-new, port 10024) with LMTP id XPjiMTAMXpYK for <neven@lovric.net>; Sat, 21 Sep 2013 08:47:00 +0200 (CEST) Received: from mail-rbl01.edis.at (mail-rbl01 [10.1.1.16]) by mail-smtp01.edis.at (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 6FD978B3A5 for <neven@lovric.net>; Sat, 21 Sep 2013 08:47:00 +0200 (CEST) Received: from dns.dot-bit.org (dns.dot-bit.org [178.32.31.41]) (using TLSv1 with cipher DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA (256/256 bits)) (No client certificate requested) by mail-rbl01.edis.at (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 6F4A410006332 for <neven@lovric.net>; Sat, 21 Sep 2013 08:47:00 +0200 (CEST) Received: from dns.dot-bit.org (localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1]) by dns.dot-bit.org (8.14.3/8.14.3/Debian-9.4) with ESMTP id r8L6kxaw026465 for <neven@lovric.net>; Sat, 21 Sep 2013 06:46:59 GMT Received: (from www-data@localhost) by dns.dot-bit.org (8.14.3/8.14.3/Submit) id r8L6kxhD026464; Sat, 21 Sep 2013 06:46:59 GMT Date: Sat, 21 Sep 2013 06:46:59 GMT Message-Id: <201309210646.r8L6kxhD026464@dns.dot-bit.org> To: neven@lovric.net Subject: Dot-BIT : lovric.bit X-PHP-Originating-Script: 33:index.php From: register@dot-bit.org Hello, Your request has been recorded for the domain lovric.bit Send 0.1BTC to 15oBUScgjuQqUGyVmCzJ1muNTcCMBx2io3 to finish the registration. Title: Re: khal / dot-bit.org Post by: 🏰 TradeFortress 🏰 on October 09, 2013, 09:33:52 AM You don't need a registar for namecoin domains. In fact, it is the best idea to not use a registar, because the domain belongs to them instead of you and there is no regulatory agency to keep their behavior in check.
Download namecoin-qt or namecoind and follow instructions to register namecoin domains yourself - for 0.01 NMC. Title: Re: khal / dot-bit.org Post by: gotpetum on October 09, 2013, 08:25:02 PM and there is no regulatory agency to keep their behavior in check. (Lately, it's the regulatory agencies that are seizing domains.) Title: Re: khal / dot-bit.org Post by: DiamondCardz on October 09, 2013, 08:45:49 PM 0.01 NMC. That's actually cheaper than I thought it was via namecoin-qt. Damn. Title: Re: khal / dot-bit.org Post by: nlovric on October 09, 2013, 09:02:20 PM the domain belongs to them instead of you So, these domains cannot be transferred into the ownership of another secret key? My present knowledge of Namecoin is limited to the terms "Bitcoin-based" and "decentralized". Download namecoin-qt or namecoind and follow instructions to register namecoin domains yourself - for 0.01 NMC. I won't be able to do so until I set up my system. Title: Re: khal / dot-bit.org Post by: nlovric on December 16, 2013, 04:28:21 AM They should be added to the known scammers list.
In my case, I've received no response for almost 3 months after payment. They (https://www.bitcointalk.org/?action=profile;u=4957)'re logging into Bitcointalk; therefore, they're not in a hospital, in prison, their workstation is not dead, or wherever, so they should be able to – at least – respond.
