Alredy approx 2 and a half month gone this year and just see again and again bitcoin going down.Every time i think now its gonna rise it just falls again..and after seeing last 12 hours it gone down 12-14% again now i am started to get worried a little.
This never happened with bitcoin since i am into it..i goes down for a month but when it rised it just created new recordes..but this year bitcoin for some reasons is just not able to gain any kind of momentum...we saw in 2017 huge rise..bitcoin getting 10 times within 6 months i think..but now i am seeing something which i have not seen with bitcoin in the past...
i am buying more thinking the price is down and its a good time to buy..but then it goes down even further... >:(

We still don't know if 2018 is the worst for bitcoin, because this just begining of 2018 and there is 9 month again we don't know, I think Bitcoin will be increase around middle this year.
I have read so many fake bad news which want to dropped bitcoin price, they just want bitcoin drop and after that they take that time to buy bitcoin and sell it when expensive later. And many people which panic sell make the price drop so fast because of this fake bad news too.
I believe Bitcoin will not drop so far and reach very low price, and that's will be back normal again.

2017 was good thanks to the adoption and a big rise but that doesn't mean 2018 which has just been started is a bad year for bitcoin.
we are currently in after that big rise and the correction persists a little more.

and lets not forget about all the FUD that has been around.

It's true that the first quarter is not good for bitcoin and the crypto currency market as a whole. Bad news keeps coming in amidst fewer good adoption news. MTgox is in liquidation stage and big numbers of bitcoins are being sold to the open market pushing the price down to an insane level. But it is too early to say if this is going to be the worst year for bitcoin because we still have 3 quarters left in 2018. But every dip in price comes with a significant opportunity to score bitcoin cheap. I am sure a lot of small investors are banking on this opportunity now. Probably we will see big rise in the value once these big accounts are completely settled.

The worst year for bitcoin was 2014. Mtgox collapsed, Silk Road was raided, the price collapsed from $1000 and kept on going down, bottoming at $170 in late 2015.

What has happened this year is a pinprick, a nothing. Most people are still in profit, only an unlucky few bought in December for more than $10,000.

Just be patient and be aware that we won't recover fast. Last year's massive gains won't be repeated till at least the next halvening.

The first three months of 2018 is not good for crypto currency but its too early to said that it is the worst year for bitcoin since we still have 9 months left in 2018. Last year, the first 3 months in crypto are also not good and at the start of 3rd quarter of 2017, the crypto value started to rise till the end of 2017.

We can't conclude too quickly!!; There is no doubt about the fact that 2017 was absolutely fantastic for bitcoin traders and investors. Although it has been struggling in 2018; I strongly believe it would bounce back

After the massive gains in 2017, it would have been difficult to have the same gains in 2018 as well

This bear market will continue a bit more but I'm confident to end 2018 with a new ATH (BTC at 40/50k $)

I'm not too worried about it since i'm holding bitcoin for long term purpose, but you might right seem like 2017 is the year of the bitcoin but it doesn't mean that 2018 is not the bitcoin year moreover the year is not finished yet. People lost so much money due to the price was crashing, people think that it's time to buy but the reality is the price is keep going down, this industry so unpredictable.

2018 is the oppressed year because:

• The Bitcoin saw a significant rise in 2017, especially the last 8 months without correction.
• Strong corrections increased panic and thus the collapse occurred
• The big turnout into bitcoin in 2017 cause a high fee appeared in 2018.
• Awareness has increased reasonable profit and not just saying that the price will rise to 100,000$
• Lack of good news.

Generally, the year has not yet ended and no one can predict the future.

2017 is the year of bitcoin's success when its value hits $ 20,000, but 2018 may well be worth it, now it's just the beginning.

No one can exactly tell what will happen next with bitcoin. And 2018 is not completed yet, more than 9 months are pending. And the price will most probably increase in upcoming months. If you want to invest in it then don't wait for more less price, may be it will increase. And the price change is not that much, so you can easily invest in it. And then just hold them for atleast 3 months.

We can't predict the price of bitcoins. Bitcoin has gone down a lot in the last two days, and I've lost a lot of money. But I still think that bitcoin will be well developed in 2018, and I'm sure it will recover soon.

I think you are not understand the crypto market. This is kind fluctuation is every happen in the market so you should wait and watch the crypto platform again Bitcoin is going to peak in one or two month. Two days ago Binance site is causes the big issue but today is different problem because you should always alert in crypto platform then only you believe this Bitcoin.

I believe that it is too early to say that 2018 is a bad year for Bitcoin, we are just in the first quarter of the year and this time is usually the time were bitcoin do not perform very well, I think the best year is yet to come, I believe that Bitcoin despite of negative propaganda through the media, remains strong and gained more popularity, we do not know what will happen in the future so I just hope it turn out to be good.

being a good or a bad year is not just about the price of bitcoin it is about a lot more than just what bitcoin is worth.

it should really be about the adoption that bitcoin has as a currency and also all the improvements that it is going to get that help it be adopted as a currency and i'd say in 2018 we have Lightning Network which is already being used and it will most probably be ready and a lot better by years end and that helps with the usage as a currency part.
this alone makes 2018 a lot better than 2017 if we get more adoption on top of it.

and don't worry about the price too much. it is just temporary, it will shoot up eventually even if it has to take a longer time. just imagine how you feel like not buying at $1000 and back then market status was similar to today.

Do not lose hope. Bitcoin can still climb all the way up if ever a clutch happened. The year is only in the midway and a lot of things could happen. Just hold the bitcoin that you have bought for atleast 4 months and wait. I predict that bitcoin will go to the moon once again and it will make my dreams truly come true.

Bitcoin really had a great year - 2017 and I think it's too early to say 2017 is the best year for bitcoin because nobody knows how good bitcoin will also perform in this year 2018. we're still in the first quarter of 2018, there is still a long way to go in 2018.

It's not like that, wonders happen every year and new milestones are touched every year with the many events in place and every event has got its own importance for boosting the market. We have to just be patient and wait for the target prices to hit as lots of analysis also spoils the mind set making us land in losses. Let's keep our cool calm and ensure minimal losses are booked, that's the agenda.

Don't woory is too early to worried bitcoin goes uprise more than 20k usd before end of this, just the  2nd quarter of this year sureky the price go to become hugable. So set back and relax hodl you bitcoin for your future investment.

it is true that so far (meaning in past 2 months LOL) 2018 didn't have a huge rise and no moon was seen until now but that still doesn't make 2018 the worst year, it is not even a bad year for bitcoin either. it is just a normal year so far where the start of the year is a little slow with some downward drop specially since 2017 had one of the biggest rises in history of bitcoin.
other than that, the year is still young and the price is still high and it will start rising at some point making you happy!

Nope, it's just the start of the year and actually it happened to 2017 too, at the start of 2017, there is a big drop in price of Bitcoin and people lost hope in Bitcoin too but then at the end of the years 2017, the price was multipled 19 times....

I do not think 2018 is a bad year for bitcoin. The sharp decline in value at the beginning of 2018 is just the beginning. We can not predict aunt. I believe its value will increase sharply by the end of 2018. Now its value is developing in a positive direction.

I do not believe that 2018 is gonna be the worst, but I have a feeling that it will start falling slowly. At least I don`t believe it will get to 2017 heights for sure.

bitcoin always attack by many fud or fake news that distract the credibilty of bitcoin always accuse of scam especially now this year 2018 there is a line up of fud about bitcoin, mainly regulation of bitcoin and accusing bitcoin as high risk investment may be 2018 may be not but one conclusion i can have bitcoin is a big issue to bitcoin investors and not because of its impact to world financial system a lot of debate and article that can rebrand and destroy bitcoin community

I can't say 2018 is a bad year for bitcoin. this year just started and we do not know later in the end of 2018 maybe bitcoin prices will jump up. Do not despair, the journey is still long gays ..

How can you say that this year is the worst.no body knows what happen in the future.for me untill there is bitcoin and continually works it is the best.sometimes other people thinks negative?the best thing to do is think possitive for what are we doing everyday and trust on it.All business in this world have an ups and downs.not all the time we are in the higher level sometimes we fail but we need to stand still untill we recover again.until the business is there,for me its the best and continue to do it until we reach our goals.

2017 is a very long year for Bitcoin, for this reason I think Bitcoin is the year of glow for 2017. Obviously, the year 2018 is not different from the previous year for me, Bitcoin's favorite feature; is to constantly surprise us.

We cannot really compare the two timelines because 2018 isn’t over yet and as far as I know we can only compre the trend of the 2017 to 2018 up to this day. And yes, 2017 might have a slight edge but I am still optimistic that there might be really a movement going on the cryptocurrency market once all this prices settle down and the dust goes down and the countries come allowing tre bitcoin into their borders because of everything we have started and built and that my friend is a dream

you can make profit if you do short trade only, just don't hold for long if you feel that this year is the worst for bitcoin, it can be happen just like in 2014 that bitcoin was never go up that was the bad year for bitcoin.

We always see a correction and a lower price in January to February of a new year, but then things goes back to normal and

we see a increase in the price. The difference this year is the MtGox coins that were dumped at the worst time possible. This

triggered some panic selling and now we are floating between $9000 and $11,000. This will go on for a while, until all those

MtGox coins are sold.  >:(

theres no doubt 2017 is best year for bitcoin and altcoins but for now we cant say this year is the worst  we qre just only first quarter of the year i still believe this year still good year of bitcoin i think bitcoin will bounce for coming months.

Bro,  we have few 9 months before end of this year 2018 is long time and for sure they have many possible to happen. Even the price of the bitcoin decrease for sure it will increase again we need to wait so we can get profit again. But I hope bitcoin will increase again so this year will be better to 2017. 

True! We cannot predict the future. FUD is present right now and not knowing the possible outcomes by the end of the year is driving many people away from the certain coins including the Bitcoin. Even if old investors are backing from the Bitcoin in the fear of the fail the new ones are coming in double numbers.

the first quarter of every year was generally bad for bitcoin. I am still keeping faith that we will see a 25000+ bitcoin in mid summer or towards september-october, the skyrocketing in december was not healthy and these are the consequences, crypto is here to stay though but a lot of projects still have to finish their products, once they do crypto will blast through the trillion dollar market cap

yes 2017 was a better year for bitcoin but i disagree with the opinion that says 2018 is the worst year for bitcoin, because by this time in 2017 nobody dreamed that bitcoin can get to 18k$, but with greater surprise it got there, so i think bitcoin still has the chance to surpass last year price.

but I do know that 2018 is very young and it seems that the OP is very frustrated that bitcoins fiat value is slipping again.

Yes last december 2017 is the best year for bitcoin, but i think this 2018 will not be the worst year for bitcoin, but will be another great and best year for bitcoin, because maany bitcoin experts predicted that bitcoin will pump this year and i believe in that! That's why i hold my bitcoin because i know and i hope that bitcoin will pump!

Total crypto market will finish the year under 300 billion IMO. Investors are being blinded by the false premise that the "institutional money" is coming. The institutional money has been deployed long ago! Bill Millers hedge fund bought bitcoin back in 2014, Peter Thiels did so in 2016. These guys aren't idiots they NEVER buy high, and they most definately don't buy after the retail investor has bought.

What you are saying is true and I feel the same way about it. I have been seeing BTC from quite long and this year is really bad for it since it is facing continuous declines. Just as the price increased to $11k it fell back to $9k. The price is low today. It can be considered as a good time to buy but then it is has been long now since the decline is still not over. BTC is trying really hard to break the resistance but is failing every time.

If we say that 2018 is the worst year in bitcoins journey could ever have, i think its wrong, 2018 has just started and we don't know what lies ahead.Lets have positive outlook to have positive impact in bitcoins price votality.Bitcoins adoptors contributes the price to rise up but there are lots of manipulators nowadays,FUDS and whales that threatens bitcoins price to fall down..but lets just hope that this weakness of digital currencies would be resolve so that the price won't bounce back so deep and most predictions that it will hit to $20k to $50k would be reachable and will happen.

I don't know how many times people have called bitcoin dead. Bitcoin is doing quite well right now. It has been maintaining its price in $8500-$11000 for quite a while now. Usually the year always starts with bearish sentiments. The year start dump was indeed huge but it was expected after the highly bullish period of December. I won't call 2018 to be the end. Rather bitcoin will touch new ATH this year.

You need to understand that bitcoin can not grow in price constantly. Every year, the growth of bitcoin prices will decrease in percentage, but in dollars the price will grow more than last year. For example an increase of 100% from the price of 2K is 2K, and the growth to 50% of 20K is 10K. 2<10

Yes 2017 is indeed the best year for bitcoin, but that does not mean this year will be the worst year for bitcoin prices, because miracles always happen every year in the world of crypto.
I don't think so, because this is just the 3rd month of 2018 and there are still 9 months for bitcoin show the best performance and again increase again.

Well we are still only at the begining of the year, and we can't really judge the whole year from what happen in the first 3 months, it may be true that bitcoin have never fallen this way before and it is not the best results comparing to last year, but bitcoin has never reached this price before last year at this time bitcoin was 900$ now its 9000$, the price is always going to change and the past at which rises could change, last year it went from 1000 to 2000 in 4 months, than after it went up to 6000 in 2 months, and than within a month it was past 10k, the bitcoin market is full of suprises and really unpredictibale, you just have to adapt to the situation .

I think you have concluded on this issue too soon. You think that 2018 is the worst year of Bitcoin, I don't think so, Bitcoin just experienced the first months of the year, there is still plenty of time behind. Last year, Bitcoin also started a new year that did not go well, but please look back on its phenomenal growth. You should not have such negative thoughts, I believe Bitcoin will come back. This is just my opinion

Just have some faith and patience guyz.I understand that these few months have been not that great but you have to understand that in that period of 2 and half month,More than 50% is the time of crash and for a normal coin this type of crash would have impossible to survive but bitcoin did and now it is recovering.The prices have increased more than hundred percent from the lowest it got in january.

Bitcoin has suffered worse than this slip. It can be worse. And it is too early to tell if 2018 is the worst year for bitcoin. You are comparing it to the best year of bitcoin yet, that is why it looks bad. Wait til the best months is over then say if it is the worst or not.

And if you are a trader, I would not say it is a bad year. I am making good money out of those large swings, so I can say bitcoin has been good to me so far this year.
