Remember when ETH crashed from $20 down to $8 in a week? That was the end of the world. It sat there and did nothing for about 6 months. Agonizing. The death of ether. Will never come back.

And then a few months later it had gone up to $400. 50x gains. Ah, that was sweet.

Remember right after that when ETH crashed from $400 down to $200 in a month? That was the end of the world. Oh, the insults we had to bear here on the forum. The death of ether. Will never come back.

It took 2 months to come back to $400, the sat around $300 and did nothing for two months. That was the end of the world. Agonizing. The death of ether.

But then it came back and went to $1400. Ah, that was sweet. We were all picking out our Lamborghinis. Mine was orange.

Remember when it crashed from $1400 down to $650? That was the end of the world. The death of ether. will never come back.

Moral of this story: if you think ether is dying, if you think it will never come back, you're too young in this game or you haven't been paying attention. If you think after a while of ether doing nothing that it is suddenly going to go up to some ridiculous price, then yeah... you've been paying attention.

See when the market is down every coin goes down and this time the market is facing bloodbath in which most of the coins are drowning but it's just Q1 of this year and situation will be under control within few months and ETH will also rise and reach almost $5000 by end of this year. But the need is to stay away from any negativity as it is normal price crash but it will soon recover and rise with greater boost and surge even higher.

ETH has proven its resilience over its lifetime and anyone thinking that this end is quite probably mistaken. Even at the current price ETH is up considerably compared to where it was last year or even 6 months ago. The whole market is in a lull right now but when it recovers you can be sure that ETH will recover with it.

The reality is that the cryptocurrency trading scene is dominated by a lot of impatient and noob traders. Ranging from those who naively invested with their life savings to those who got into crypto trading based on the hype of multiplying n-times their investment within a short period.This group are the ones always buying at all-time-high instead of selling off for profit and re-entering when there's a dip. I used to be a member of this group till I learned the hard way.

Cryptocurrencies (such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, NEM, NEO, ADA) that are promising projects with a solid support from the community always have the tendency to bounce back after a dip in price.

Yeah look at this as a buying opportunity instead of panicking. Ethereum has proven itself as a platform and doesn't has to do that again. The prices are bound to recover, if not today than tomorrow.

Anyway almost every altcoin is down because of the bitcoin itself. The more bitcoin will go down the more and more altcoins will suffer for sure. This trend is getting followed since December month and this explains only one thing that either investment from the ETH is going into the bitcoin as it is low and people want it more than ETH. However, this is over all crypto currency market which has moved down so we cant say surely that people are switching the coins or not. About ETH im also sure that it will recover itself soon and may spike to more than 1200 which has been its ATH.

We are in a dip where all cryptos are down. No matter which coin,or coins,we hold the price is affected by price of bitcoin. We have to wait for bitcoin recovery for others to rise.

Funny and True at the same time ;D ;D . Ethereum is my choice of coin that will make it to the top in future. Although it's price has come down to more than half now it still is holding well according to me. There will be many criticising Ethereum and Bitcoin but then who cares when the dogs bark. We can't bark back at them right. Just play the game along and knowing when to enter and exit would make us good amount of money at the end of the game.

ethereum is base of many tokens , more than 70% of them , some good ones like EOS , it means if eth goes down 70% of tokens would go down with it , since it has grown a lot, it has deep roots and it has came to stay!

Too much is already tied up on the etherium, so that it falls to the full bottom. Remember why the etherium was originally designed and everything will fall into place. All coins can be broken, and the etherium will live.

I remember when Etherium was around $1.  I was buying it for $1 and selling for $1.30 and making a 30 percent gain. I thought I was doing well because that is a big gain. If only I had held, I could have made 1000 times my original investment. The same could be said for many cryptocurrencies from a few years ago like Litecoin, Dash, and Bitcoin.

ETH is a pumped up shitcoin that won't last as soon as a better competitor comes along. They change algos on a whim, hard fork on a whim, and it's run by one guy. That's... Wow. Why not just invest in fucking Ripple? Same exact thing. Centralized shitcoin.

It costs $800-$1100, but it's worth 50 cents. I never would have bought at $8 because it was already a rip off at $1. No amount of fiat gains are worth selling your soul for.

There is no doubt, Ethereum price will recover and will rise to a new all time high. After market becomes normal, Ethereum will rise in price as the most popular altcoin.
And what is happening to cryptocurrencies now is not something unusual. It has happened several times. Same as before it will end and all the coins especially Ethereum will rise.

Yes, the great price collapse of Etherum has plagued many altcoins. In particular, all altcoins with Etc and came to the point of dying. I see this chaos as an opportunity, Etherum will never end and it will become more valuable than Bitcoin price.

Ever since they abandoned the hard fork which would have brought Proof of Stake consensus, ETH has been on a downward slide. I hope it picks up momentum again soon. I see new platforms like Steller making a lot of ground that could have been on ETH.

After Bitcoin, Ethereum is one of my favorites coins and I believe so much  in it. Even, most People predict that it will suppress bitcoin in the future but I don't think this is true. Just like bitcoin, whoever that is holding Ethereum should endeavor to hold on for a very long time, i believe this coin will surprise us like the way bitcoin did. Most people are saying it slow but we should all remember the way bitcoin pump all of a sudden. I believe in Ethereum.

i remember that time when it crashed because i bought it arround $50 and after eth fly i sold it at $300 i got very good profit. i know ethereum can crash again now and prepare to buy it again at dip probably the dip is arround $500 and will never goes down below $500 many project still pop up until now and the ethereum network also increase in transaction everyday. i am waiting untill casper is launch and will see the market movement after. i predict we will see $1000 again when casper launch

If you want to invest on ethereum now take it is a buy signal time and already both the bitcoin and eth together bumped in the market today.

I don't think it is crashed but it is the extended version of just a regular dip ;) :D.See ETH has been the most progressive coin of recent times and has been stable in terms of price from most of time. It just that people panic way to much when prices slightly go down from their expectation.I consider ETH as one of the most powerful coin in future and has done lot of investment.I am positive about ETH giving me lots of profit in future despite of this dip.

Well its also like following the bitcoin pattern. And as we all know, almost all altcoins did and ethereum is not a exception. Maybe the people really thought that ethereum will go to the moon specially last January when it peak and reaches its all-time-high. However, it drop dramatically hence investors panic and dumping their coins.


But you can't really take away those panic sellers, this is how we benefited, weak hands sell and then we took the profits.


lol mate. I have the same thought. That first march around May-June hitting all-time-high was a good feeling back then.  But after that it crashes going into bearish trend and then moved up again in December-January and now into another major dip. This is just another test we need to have patience and keep holding at this time.

Those thoughts cant really be avoided because this market is way too unpredictable which means prices can anytime pump and dump in a short period of time but only few coins do have potential can sustain price developments all over the years and I don't have any doubts on ETH capabilities and potential which it is really worth to hold of. Once theres a pump you can sell out for profits then buyback on dump.Ive made some serious cash with ETH if you do know how to go with the flow of such prices.

I am a small ETH holder here, and perhaps I should say that I was a long time saying I hated it and never could support it. I finally got a small part of it when it dropped to $800, happy I did so. I did not change my views on ETH, but I am also a practical person. ETH has shown its strength. It will dip like Bitcoin, but it will for sure return to old highs and higher. I may never hold it for more than many years, but it is not dead and for sure not close to dying. Just wait and see.

It looks like we back agian to the last year's chart. This time the market will be in the stable value without a lot of volatility. Due to the mtgox trustee dump so many bitcoin to the exchange site and then the majority of traders are need to build their mentality again. I'd expected another bullrun and i guess that will be happened at the middle of this year. that based on the chart from the last year.

Yes from day to day the price of ethereum continues to fall from the highest price of Jan 10/2018 ethereum price peaked around $ 1,284 81 and sekang down to $ 699.83 is very sad for users of crypto, I hope hopefully ethereum prices can be recovered and peaked again.

I still remember all that days but there are something fishy going on in cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin's fall is followed by other altcoins and this bear market is sign of weakness of current blockchain technology. Ethereum will recover after passing April in my humble opinion. 800$ level is good support and keeps price above that line.

Every coin suffers from big crash, this is only a test to know how strong is that coin.

Ethereum is not Bitcoin. People that think just because Bitcoin recovered from the dead other coins can do it too are wrong. Ethereum's only strong selling point is the ability to issue ICO tokens in a fast and easy way. When regulations come left and right on the ICO sector, the ICO stuff will probably go down along with ETH's first use case, which mean's ETH's price will go down too.

Ethereum is the only coin I'm sure which is  going to hit an ATH this year. There is so many good news lined up for it this year. Theres the shift to POS, sharding coming and plasma being developed. All these are big developments and will sky rocket the price of Ethereum.

Well for me it's not a crashed it's a correction and it is pretty normal to me that's why I am not worried because I know Ethereum will go up once again I'm still waiting it to dip more so I can buy again some bags of Ethereum. Patience is a virtue.

Blockfolio has so many problem to get the latest price from the market. I've used it but it looks like it doesn't have high accuracy right now. Just wait all of this bearish will at the end of this year. I think that there will be a bullish period soon in the future.

I almost fully agree with the posts and general comments on this topic and in my opinion Ethereum is a solid and guaranteed market, where do i want to go? As much as the downfall trend of the market is extreme somehow Ethereum always tends to rise, it seems surreal, but it is  not, is the strength and quality of the project.

to secure the assets when the price of coins down then this is the only safe way. patient and not panic and wait for coins go up in a few years is the right choice. given the ethereum is a very nice coin and potentially like bitcoin then this must be maintained in order to get a very big advantage.

In the short term I don't see any serious challenger of ETH's place in cryptos especially ICOs. The first mover advantage and strong dev community of ETH will guarantee its success.

I remember brother. I also distinctly remember selling when the price reached $50! It felt so good and i felt like i was the smartest king of the world!! Until it reach $400 and i felt like a total poop who blew his load early. In any case, good point. HODL ethereum as it is has potential to really change the world. There is no other crypto team that i admire more than Vitalik and the ethereum developers.

Ehereum is not crashed, previously the price increased very fastly and the present situation of the market is in fluctuations. So we have to wait for until bitcoin price settles and then ETH price will start increasing.

This can be said about many coins which, despite the corrections and significant losses in the price, still grew even more, this was demanded by the market from them. Nice one man! I believe ethereum will rise again in no time and this time i'm pretty sure it will be around $1600 - $2000 I guess. China marked ethereum as the best blockchain in the crypto market and I believe they won't just pick it out of nowhere without deeper research. I guess they can see the potential of ether.. regardless, ethereum will definitely rise again, i'm sure of it!  for those who are losing money because of investing in ether, my stupid suggestion is just to let it be and hold it for at least a year. This logic doesn't only implies to ETH. It can be said for the market as a whole. Cryptos has undergone more severe dumps in the history and it always came back. We are just getting started and market is in its initial stage which makes high volatility a normal thing. Market lacks volume which makes whales control the amrket. But with time, market will get mature and whales will lose the hold. Then price might get rid of high volatility. Right now, being the early investors, we have to deal with high volatility.
