Tonight I saw a dream that the 150-200 range will be over very quickly and the next stop is 200+ prices. The main message of that dream was not 200+ prices but the fact that 150 .. 200 range will be conquered surprisingly fast. One might wonder what is the time period for surprisingly fast. My wild guess was a month but it can be longer as the dream didn't say anything about exact dates - just the fact that it would happen quickly.

It would fit with the theory that a bull-flag breakout should look similar to the "flagpole".

I think it just a difficulty and trend lag indicator

I had a dream that someone had a dream about dreaming the price about reach 200+ very soon. When I awoke I realized I was still dreaming, but I found this post about your dream. I don't believe I am awake even while writing this but I do hope that Bitcoin is over 200 in the nearish future.  :D

There are three possible reasons for this dream;

1) The dream was a fulfilment of your conscious desire for the price to rise quickly.

2) Your subconscious has noticed something you aren't consciously aware of, and it's informing you of its perditions.

3) The rapid price rise in your dream is actually a symbolic fulfilment of some other repressed desire.

You do know that making your dream known to the public will make it not come true right? It's simple quantum physics, the moment an observer takes note the wave function collapses. :P

When I was about 12 years old I had a strange dream once. I woke up and reflected upon it, after which I completely forgot about it again. A few weeks later what I dreamed about happened before my eyes exactly as I had dreamed it, like a deja vu only this time I remembered dreaming about it. Coincidence or not, I thought it was quite interesting and reading this made me think about that again. :)

It has become kind of likely that the bubble can be re-inflated over a short period of time. 200 is laughable, if it does we will get new a new ATH pretty soon. (Before end of the year)

Last night in *my* dream a CIAAA Road Service agent helped me and some other folks get away after a heist by throwing a blue blanket over us, enclosing us in some sort of transdimensional bubble, bright blue and shimmering, which bullets couldn't pass through.

I'm not sure dreams are very useful for predicting the future.

On the contrary, many great events have been perceived in dreams before they happened. The subconscious is much more powerful than the conscious mind.

200 is reasonable, also where can I get the tea tea leaves you are buying with BTC for these predictions, can't seem to find them for sale for BTC.  Are they the same ones used in New York  ;D

My last bitcoin related dream actually manifested. About half a year ago I dreamed that my BFL ASIC finally arrived and in that dream I felt like I coudln't care less as if I received some piece of junk. Last month I received the ASIC and the emotions were exactly the same as they were in the dream I saw 6 months earlier :D

To me there is no gamble anyway so the last night's dream is just an interesting event as I don't get to see bitcoin related dreams very often. I'm in since the single digits and won't cash out before the next order of magnitude so 200+ leaves me quite cold. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see whether this speculation actually manifests. If it does I should start taking my dreams more seriously :D

The SR bust signalled the start for the next bubble the same way Pirateat40 did, by showing the antifragiliy of BTC. The peak will come within the next 12 months for sure.

This could last for a while. All we need is a few days of returns like this (which we've had) and the Chinese are going to be pouring in. Kind of like back in Jan-April when everyone noticed the gains and jumped on. Remember - the Chinese are actually LESS responsible investors than we are. They don't care about the risk that it's a huge unsustainable bubble! They have thousands of brand new empty buildings built with real estate bubble money from the middle class and the government, that no one can afford to live in.

Their real estate bubble is formidable compared to ours, and it hasn't popped yet... their BTC bubble will be equally formidable.

...Or, it could crash tomorrow and resume a slow, agonizing bear market down to $30. ;D ;D ;D
...Or, an anvil could fall on your head tomorrow and you'll never know what happened.

I admit I am very surprised how quick and strong the price recovered after the SR crash. I would have expected a much deeper and much longer correction. However, price is now going up parabolically again, sentiment is getting overly confident: victory songs popping up, bears being mocked. Short term all indicators to buy sell. For the coming months I still estimate chances we get another correction to below $100 much higher than going into another tenfolding.


That being said I have come to the insight that my strategy is indeed no good. My returns on bitcoin are now lower than a buy and hold (1080% for 2013 vs 1200% for buy and hold), I only have half the coins I started with and a bunch of fiat. I worry that the price will continue to go up and I will be left behind.

If I could do it all over I would follow cypherdoc his advise to buy more in February 2013 when it was breaking the old all time high of $30 from 2011, and to never sell a single coin but simply buy and hold. Easier because no trading needed, less counterparty risks, less taxable events, and eventhough much more volatile, very likely also much more profitable. My counterarguments against a buy and hold: 'risk management' I no longer support. Sure I could have sold some coins as to lock in some profits but half? *shrugs head*

Lesson learned. Thank you all for helping me see.


What to do now? Buy back the coins and make large losses if $60 were to be hit? Or continue to wait for a correction to $60 that may never come?

I'll take the middle road. I'll raise my fiat canons to above $90, instead of above $60. And this time I'll charge them sufficiently as I hadn't done so on the recent SR correction and due to this could only buy a few.


As to defend against the characterizations made of me.

Cypherdoc, when proven wrong I prefer a man of silence over a man that does not take ownership.

Zerg, though I have certainly been a bear most of the time since it first crossed $150, I have always remained open to a relaunch into new all time highs, and have turned bullish every time the price had corrected sharply. In my trading as well as analyses here. You throwing me into the bear camp like EM seems not nuanced to me. Am I misrepresenting myself or are you overconfident or angry? Where have I spoken irrational?

Conservative I would call the line that touches the bottoms.

A year and two months for every tenfold increase. $2000 by Feb. 2015, $20,000 by Spring 2016, trillion-dollar market cap a few months later. So like 3 years to mainstream adoption. I can dig it.

I too love thinking logarithmically about this. By my analysis, we've plateaued a couple of times for long periods after a tenfold increase. The latest plateau appears to be over.

As I'll never forget you saying a while back, "We've got to get going ".

Meanwhile the BIT now has a nice return since launch. 11% in 3 weeks, nearly 600% annualized. Not a bad start.

Not sure how much of your reply is an obvious joke but in case you didn't get my point then imagine this:
You see a dream where you are extremely happy about something related to bitcoin. Now what would that be that could make you very happy about bitcoin? The answer to this rhetorical question is the actual prediction. The emotions are just a hint.

I believe there are not many people that get exact predictions in their dreams. I know one however. A female friend of mine saw a very detailed dream of another woman. The face, the name and a message in russian language "paзвoд". She didn't know what that word meant. However, soon it turned out that her husband was cheating her with the same exact woman that appeared in her dream and she was shocked when she found out that "paзвoд" means divorce. Dreams are not a joke, be glad if you get to see them. It gets even more awesome when you get to experience lucid dreaming and astral travel but I will save these stories for another time :D

Today 7 days after this dream we can already say that we've reached 200 and indeed it was unexpectedly fast. I now believe that sometimes I see future in my dreams. 8)

OP you may want to change the subject of the thread to $400 instead of $200....

Yes, in that dream the price went past 200 with no problem but the charts I got to see were 200+. It does not mean the price won't go to 400 because the message of the dream was precisely "150-200 range will be over very quickly". Thus, I can't say anything about 400 and I haven't got another dream :D

However, now it is good time to recall one of my earlier btc related dreams. In that dream bitcoin's price went to 10k $ and I felt ecstasy. I hurried to the exchange to get a couple of bitcoins into fiat for my material needs. However, by the time I got to my private keys the price was already in the range of 100k - 1000k and I felt positive panic to get to the exchange even faster. Turned out that the price was in a bubble and by the time I got to the exchange it had already corrected itself but was still out of Earth's orbit (100k+ $ prices). That dream however said nothing about dates and the main message was panic and ecstasy :P We're still waiting for it to come true.
