I heard that the wallet MEW may not be used anymore, this information is true. So if the wallet MEW for some reason can not be used then can we use any other wallet?

Where did you heard that news? Do you have any link to prove your claim? I just used my ether wallet this day and it is perfectly working. There is no issue in my ether wallet and everything is working fine. Maybe you heard an hearsay and you must prove that because it may create some misinformation to people using MEW.

what wallets like myetherwallet do is that they create a private key for you and they claim to not store the private keys anywhere. this means you control the private keys and you alone. and a private key is all you need to be able to spend any funds that you have in your address.

so in case MEW disappeared one day, all you need to do is to find a wallet that allows you to import private keys and then do that.

I just used my MEW a while ago to transfer some of my ETH to the exchange. I dont know where did you get that news. It is much better if you post the source or link of the news here.

One more thing. I will use MEW because it has a proven track of service and care for its users. On the other hand. I will never ever use Mycrypto because they are thieves. just like what they did to MEW twitter.

Do not worry if mew can not be used, there are other wallet options that you can use. I recommend you to use metamask, because I think it's safer than mew.

It really doesn't matter whether myetherwallet exist or not. Myetherwallet is not a wallet in the sense of third party to start with. With your private key you could spend and access your fund with any wallet that allow you to load your privatekey

MEW is still a strong and an effective wallet. What's important is that your end is secure. I.e. no computer viruses, phishing links, etc.

Why people like op make such claims without proper research is something I fail to understand. It is obvious that MEW(MyEtherWallet) is still operational and is not exhibiting any problems whatsoever and I have checked this yesterday myself. Why rattle people unnecessarily? I did hear that there are some problems between the MEW developers at the moment, but this does not mean that there is a problem with the MEW wallet. In the worst case scenario, if there was really a problem, you can always use your private key to access your funds through some other wallets as others stated.

It was just alert to avoid fishing sites of MEW. You can use MEW but be sure to double-check correct MEW website address or use Metamask as alternative

I'm still using myetherwallet, In last day I withdraw my tokens, still work no having problems in myetherwallet. I don't know if there is another wallet like myetherwallet that can handle any tokens.

Where did you hear this? MEW work well anytime. And MEW doesn't store your ethereum, MEW only give you access to block in blockchain where are situated you money. If something will happen with MEW you can import your account in other place by private key

Well, I don't agree with your point that MEW won't work anymore, where did you hear that news, any source? The first thing you need to know about MEW is that it only generates private/public keys for you, and it is just an interface that allows you to access your funds on blockchain giving you full control of your private keys, your funds are not stored in MEW it is stored in the blockchain. If somehow there is a problem with MEW, you can still just import your private keys or JSON file in metamask and start accessing your funds.

I just use it a few hours ago and send some token to the exchange and its work fine, i think that not true. MEW still best personal wallet for ERC20 Token. Safe and secure, i never get any problem with this wallet. Its easy to use it and safe for hold token in long term.

Well yes myetherwallet still works i just used it today to receive my ethereum won from bitvest and also some airdrop coins and i have still no problems using it although i am receiving some phishing mails stating that my wallet was hacked i always ignore though but if myetherwallet will be down, i will withdraw all of my ether and tokens to a backup address and download desktop wallet to transafer all of my coins.

you should include a link indicating that MEW can't be used again, to prove it all. I just opened my MEW, and it's still fine. and all the coins and tokens I keep on MEW, are still there and all right.

I can't see clearly where did the OP got this news all about regarding the problem of myetherwallet, in such a case if ever there are problem with the mew, as long as you have the private key like the json file, then it is still safe because that private key can still be accessed from other wallet like metamask.

MEW is in perfect working condition, and such misleading information should be avoided. the best you can do is to confirm the authenticity of such information before going into panic.

You're right, i've never heard or read any bad news about MEW. I also use Myetherwallet and i have many acquaintances who use this wallet. It is safe to use and i know my token was safe. It probably depends on how you care about it. There also bounty campaigns that require myetherwallet . This is what their participants need to use.

Stupidity. You can still use myetherwallet purse. It still works. So you can safely use it. The main thing is not to show your private key anywhere. And then your tokens will be safe.

It is a wrong news, may be it might not be working for you and you have posted as if it is not working as a whole. MEW is still working for me and there is no issue in accessing it or moving coins or crypto in it. You check that again and post in the thread please, it might work for you if you have the address and key.

Nothing worry about any news like this for mew Wallet, you are the one controlling your own private key so it is very easy for you to move your token to other wallet. But I don't believe that this is true because mew is always the first choice majority of the altcoins.

Yes it still works. But i can see my coins on ethplorer.
Ethplorer is very iseful and it has the very present update in your wallet.
You dont need to log in to see your tokens, just put your eth address and you're good to go.

Having private keys and keeping them in secure place is one of the key element to control the funds you have. As MEW provides access to these keys, it gets you a chance to restore the wallet and all funds even if MEW disappears in one day.

MEW is perfectly fine to use. Just be careful, there are plenty of phishing sites that have very similar URLs... sometimes using special unicode characters so that it looks to be almost the same URL, for example it might replace an e with an e with a dot under it.

Your saying is funny for joking because some of here was have an account in myetherwallet and i am one of them that still using it for the payment if im joining to those paying ethereum so provide a link to believe in you.

Myetherwallet is the only responsible for that on how they should solve this problem. The supporters of myetherwallet will trust the dev to avoid much panic on not using anymore the wallet. Ofcourse if they do problem by their own then they should provide solutions.

Firstly, Myetherwallet is not a real wallet in the sense of it keeping your coin for you. Myetherwallet only let you interact with the blochchain on which your coin are kept. If myetherwallet stop functioning you could access your coin eaily on another platform.

MEW is a wallet and it gives you the chance to have your private keys which does not make it different from generating a wallet on your ledger nano, or your desktop wallet such as exodus and so on and as long as you have your private keys, even if anything happens to MEW, with your private key, you can have access to your stuffs on another wallet.

In which you still use your old wallet because you have the private key of your eth address. MEW reality is just the interface for you to access your wallet

They work. If the website ever goes down then you could import your Private Key into a desktop wallet. Myetherwallet doesn't usually have downtime.

It works perfectly fine as of now and have been updating their services with new security system and metamask features. I don't think an established and credible wallet would go down so easily and if that happens then I guess I would have to find another trustworthy wallet too.

I never heard or read any information or news that the MEW site is not working, and I have a couple of coins stored there. Where have you heard this information from anyways? Its digital key can not be opened, and having only a digital key, it is possible to enter the wallet from any device. It also has a very useful feature for etherscan. io, which provides an opportunity to view the contents of the wallet without entering into it. I would not trade this purse for others.

There's no issue with it so far so I bet MEW is prettt ok and suggested to use. You better use this site rather than using those new wallet offered erc20 storing since maybe you will get caught since they doesn't tested yet by big whales. But if you are worried to get hack by using it then you must secure your very own private key.

Your claim is wrong mate, myetherwallet is still working. I've been using this wallet daily and still working fine. Better to check thoroughly if the site is right that your are visiting. Many phishing sites attacks to scam user so be very careful.

Most of the bounty right now I guess using MEW, I'm sure this will continue to exist. Well we don't exactly know what ahead of us but if this thing happen there are alternatives in the market anyway. But I love MEW, I don't have any issue using their wallet.

IMO post of complains come from members that have been sloppy with their private key and look for someone to blame.

MEW has a great track record of dealing well under pressure and hasn't been hacked as of yet - We can see there have been phishing attempts but in actual fact the domain has kept its cool over the years. Its a great way to hold alts if you don't trust exchanges not to be hacked or manipulated... (Binance lol). So I shall keep using their wallets until i see a reason not to.

All problems i can see with myetherwallet is due to user's fault about their keystorefile/json file gone and private key gone too but in their platform or their wallet system i haven't heard that they had problems. Myetherwallet is being used until today and i myself use it too for erc20 tokens that i would recieve in the bounty campaigns. As for now there's no problem about myetherwallet until now so don't be afraid using myetherwallet. Try joining bounty campaigns you'll even see there are lots of bounty hunters who submit their myetherwallet address to receive their ERC20 tokens after the bounty campaign is reach it's target.

MyEtherWallet is still working very fine. Just make sure you are accessing the original website before inputting your details to login, because the scammers already cloned a fake site of it. I also use both ImToken and CoinOmi apps to store my Ethereum and other ERC-20 compatible tokens. The both are flexible and secured to use.

I think MyEtherWallet still works really well for now, because I've been using it for over a year and have had no problems up until now, but Myetherwallet is not the original wallet in the sense of saving the coins we have but Myetherwallet just letting us interact with the blochchain where our coins are stored.

I really thought it was true and even checked on myetherwallet to see if the site is still working. Where have you got this ill news from anyways? There was only a time when there was some sort of hacking issue on myetherwallet but I doubt they closed the whole site because of that. First of all i want to ask do you have any reliable source for this information . I am using MEW from last 6 months , no problem faced. Myetherwallet generates private key and keystore file for any wallet , and they dont store that . So if one day you found that myetherwallet is not opening ( assume) you can still access your wallet using that private key from wallets like Imtoken , Trust wallet , so no need to worry , your funds will be safe unless you leak your private key anywhere.

But if there is ever a reason for you not to use myetherwallet then you can always access your ether wallet from any other ether wallet website. Actually we are free to use any wallet to store our coins and crypto currency tokens. We are not obliged to use myetherwallet. Whatever wallet that we use, the most important thing is to make sure that the wallet that we use is safe. Maybe some people are less comfortable using myetherwallet, but I personally still use myetherwallet. I've been comfortable using myetherwallet and I don't want to move using another wallet for a while. I'm not ready to adapt if I have to use a new type of wallet.

Well, I have never heard of the hacked Myetherwallet websites. Recently, Google DNS servers have been hacked, but this is not MEW fault, which is the fault of the Google server. (yeah, Do you know Google DNS?) Basically you will be directing to phishing websites when accessing to MEW sites. And if you are careful, you will easily recognize it as a phishing site.

With this you always have access to your coins whether with MEW or without. In this case you have to find another platform where you can enter your private keys. MEW is infinite to used. You can used it when ever you like as you have the intact information of the wallet specifically the keystore, eth address and the most important is the "PRIVATE KEY" which mostly used to open a MEW wallet.

Completely absurd. I have used MEW for over 2 years but have never had any problems with them. Problems only appear when you lose your private key. Of course, there are still cases of hack but MEW is still trusted and used by many people.

this is very misleading, mew is a wallet where you hold your private key and i know that mew is a very famous and adopted wallet for crypto lovers. I am using it till now 2019 of january. I love mew and i always use mew in all of my transaction, Plus i feel safe when i use mew than any other wallet out there.

That solves the problem. There's really no reason to be afraid if MEW will not going to operate in the later future. well, MEW is really a good platform to store tokens and its really quite sad if it will going to be not working anymore in the market. I will miss some of its features like offline account managing and JSON file keystore.

The problem with web-based wallets is with BGP attacks. You're essentially downloading your application every time. If your wallet is a local application, it's much harder to suffer from this. Much easier to target something like MEW instead of, say, Electrum

As of now I can still use and gain access on my account using MyEtherwallet with no problem. I have never heard that it goes down. Maybe some small maintenance but now, it is operational again and is safe.

Myetherwallet is certainly still very functional as usual. And the wallet that I use everyday to make transactions. Because I prefer to use myetherwallet compared to other wallets. Of course this makes it easier for me to make transactions.

We can use metamask to access MyEtherwallet account if you are concern on the security risk on the ordinary access of MyEtherwallet. I find it quite useful when using this metamask app because it is a user friendly also.

LOL, why should MEW not work anymore? Maybe the site is down sometimes and you can't create a new wallet or access your wallet you used before but it's only the site most likely has some problems and devs need time to repair it. If you want to create a wallet you can also do it offline. Just go to github, MEW, download it and you can start creating your new MEW.

Because i dont think its true, because i still have access to my own personal wallet, and the only true way you can lose access to your account is by losing you private key to the wallet and then all your tokens and investments are gone, so in order not to lose your money and investment always keep your private key safe
