If you are a newbie then you have to learn lot of things before invest your money to ICO's. First you have to do research about ICO's (Read whitepaper, Find team members, Vision, Ratings etc). Next you can invest your money. Don't invest your all money to one ICO then invest few different ICO's.

Investing in ICO consists of very high risk. You will need to perform due diligence before putting your hard earned money.

If you still want to go ahead then I would suggest to find the upcoming ICOs using icoalert.com or any such sites. Visit the website of the prospective ICO, check their team members, read their whitepapers, check their roadmap, etc.

After finding all these details, you might get some idea about the potential of the project. If you really believe in any project, then go ahead and invest in that ICO.

Once you get started, you will get more experience of it. So, if you really want to do it then start jumping as soon as possible.

Hello, any suggestions and advices in investing in ICO's?

Just to tell you, buddy. If you have to ask random strangers on what to invest in, then investing might not be for you. If you want to invest, you have to spend hours upon hours on multiple coins/tokens/ICOs to properly decide on what to invest in.

Hello, any suggestions and advices in investing in ICO's?
  • Do your own research. Don't invest in something because somebody told you to.
  • Research the offering thoroughly.
  • Most ICOs are going to fail. If the information doesn't explain in detail how the business works and how it plans to succeed, then it probably won't.
  • There are a lot of scams. If the promoters focus more on the returns than the business, then it is probably a scam.
  • Not every idea is a good idea or can become a sustainable business.
  • Evaluate the risk. 99% of these ICOs are going to fail. Make sure the reward is great enough to justify the risk.
  • Don't be afraid of missing out. There are plenty of opportunities, even after rejecting 90% of them.
  • Invest like a professional.

For example:

I would suggest you to invest in DeepOnion.
Check https://DeepOnion.org
We have airdrop too. Check for eligibility rules. The best privacy coin out there.

Don't invest in DeepOnion just because this newbie said to. In fact, I would stay away from DeepOnion simply because it is promoted by newbies.

Read the bitcoin whitepaper. And research all of the top coins on coinmarketcap. You need to know what is already out there to have an informed opinion on if a new project is revolutionary or copycat.

Research what ICOs have been very successful in the past. Try and identify what the common themes are in the successful ICOs. You'll need to look at what pain the project is trying to solve, how good their team looks to me, what the token mechanics are, % distribution etc.

If you think it's going to be an easy way to make a quick buck, think again. There are so many ICOs now, many of them scams/overvalued/doomed to fail you will lose money.

It can be VERY profitable if you are good at doing research, so I would recommend taking the time.

If you want to invest in ICO please select the most reliable one. Try to study about that ICO and check if it is genuine or just a scam. Because more ICO today are just a scam. You must look at its whitepaper also. Try to read the comments from other investors in their telegram. And see if their are lot of participants also.

Hello, any suggestions and advices in investing in ICO's?

Only invest an amount that you can afford to lose. The reason I say this is that an ICO has a good chance of failing. I heard someone say that it’s like investing in a penny stock. You could lose it all or you could make a lot of money.

You could look into a couple of methods of getting ICO tokens for free such as an airdrop, signature campaign that pays out ICO tokens, or bounty campaign.

Learn about the market and invest in projects you believe in.
You can diversify your portfolio and keep a majority of your investment in a well known currency (for example ETH or BTC).

A different approach - that has less (but still present) risk is to research the companies and projects during their ICO phase, but don't buy in yet.

A general cycle that's apparent (and been taught to me) is that when an ICO doesn't blow up from a scam, hack, or loss, it generally dumps for the first 1-2 months.

Once it bottoms - and if you've done your research verifying it's a project you feel strongly towards - buy it then.

Sure you won't get ICO-level pricing, but likely not far from it.

Since the vast majority of the risk is at the ICO stage, the slightly higher cost post-dump from those who did buy at the ICO stage will be worth the wait.

Just my two cents, but this gives you plenty of time to research the right projects and buy at the most opportune times instead of gambling on the ICO succeeding.

You have to read whitepaper and check the roadmap. Now a days most of the coin goes down after the ICO. My suggestion will be buy some  waves, Dct or ETH. It will be the best choice.

Research is must when you are evaluating a fresh ICO investment. I recommend you to investigate the members of the ICO team thoroughly, in particular, discover their experience. Search them on Google and read through their profiles on LinkedIn.

Check out whether the team holds any kind of experience in cryptocurrencies. Ensure that some of them have been involved in ICOs in the past.

If, despite all these risks, you still decide to put your money in a highly speculative investment, Ford recommends you be living below your means, be debt-free, have an appropriate amount of emergency savings (usually, anywhere from three to 12 months’ worth of essential expenses depending on your personal circumstances), and be on track with big financial goals such as saving for retirement and your children’s college tuition's. "You have to be comfortable losing everything," she says.

Hello, any suggestions and advices in investing in ICO's?

You'll frequently want to identify very strong projects and preferably get in during pre-sale to obtain the best rates. This is often times done by a lot of research, large amounts of capital and value adds (marketing, security solutions and others).

Otherwise, you can just simply buy any project at market when they come out if you want a simple and cheap way of being involved.

They pretty much all said that it was extremely risky and that if I really wanted to take the risk I should pick the most reliable one. There's a lot of scams out there, so personally, I'm focusing on whitepapers to learn more about the topic. Best of luck! ;)

Friend, before investing in anything, it is very easy to think and evaluate risks. After all, risks are great especially in the crypto-currency industry, volatility is huge. But if you still decide to invest, then invest as much as not afraid to lose. And do not invest everything in one coin or token, share the risks.

Hello, any suggestions and advices in investing in ICO's?

Although ICO investment, but is profitable it is very difficult to find out a real and successful ICO. Because there are a lot of ICO here. A lot of ICO is coming in every day. Most of the ICO's are scam and unsuccessful. That why ICO investment is very risky. So, you have to study a lot about that ICO you want to invest there. So, my suggestion is taking some time to understand the market trend and ICO investment. Otherwise, you will lose your capital.

Hey,

As everyone has said before me, you just need to DYOR. in my opinion, it's not that hard... there are a few key indicators to see if an ICO is legit (I'm sure you can find more of this on youtube or whatever... ) But here are the top ones:

1. Does the company have a clear plan for AFTER the ICO ends? If yes, this is a good bet that they have a real business model
2. Do they have any partners/backing of companies who already established
3. Can you research the team behind the project (see if their linkedin profiles look legit or not... check carefully.)
4. reach out to their customer service. Do they have involvement in the community? like real involvment... not a half-a$$ed facebook page.
5. Do they have legit blog posts on medium
6. Can you understand their road map? If it's vague, it's a no go.
7. Do you actually need to buy their Token? If you ask yourself "why do they need to be on blockchain?" its probably not legit. They should have a clear reason to be building on BC technology.

Those are my top ones when researching. If you want some good examples of a legit ico look at Wanchain, Zeex and then compare to those. Thats how I learned, is by learning a legit ICO really well, it makes it really easy to spot fakes.

If you are a newbie then I would recommend you to invest your time before investing your money. Many new ICOs are coming in the market daily and you have to do deep research if you are expecting your money to go in the safe hands, still returns will depend on multiple factors but the primary area of research should be integrity and then you can proceed with further checklist from the criteria. Do not fall for the fear of missing out, you will get many opportunities to invest if you have money in your hand but you might not able to recover once invested.

I'm  working with the German project Vreo.io, maybe someone heard. I couldn’t find any competitors for project, that's one of the reasons why I believe in them. They are doing dynamic in-game advertising. They are going to create marketplace for developers and advertisers. Moreover, the interests of all parties are taken into account. Developers of small games can attract investments and create high-quality products, for advertisers this project will be useful due to the expansion of advertising opportunities and selected target audience, and gamers will be able to receive quality products cheaper, besides they also receive income from the ads they watched, without interrupting the gameplay. It seems the product meets the gaming and advertising industries' needs. Here is their link at bitcointalk https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2886707 Telegram grp https://t.me/vreoico

Before investing in any project you need to do some research, know the amount of coin in circulation, the value. And I believe pre-ICO and ICO investment will help a lot. Even professional investors do the same thing. And its advisable not to invest what you can't afford to lose because investment is all about risk in most cases losing is sure why success is luck. Good luck as you invest!

Research the offering thoroughly. There are a lot of scams. If the promoters focus more on the returns than the business, then it is probably a scam.
Invest like a professional.

1. First of all, you need to deal with all the main cryptocurrency (find out their differences, understand why they cause interest in most people)
2. Understand which direction is more profitable (I'm interested in ICO of new blockchains and ICO of new exchanges.)
3. Here is an example of a site with ICO descriptions: https://icodrops.com/

If he wants to invest in ICO then he better stick knowing more about ICO. Knowing more with bitcoin is easy since the forum is mainly focused about bitcoin, he search things that he want to about it.

be careful because of scamming
Too many ICOs are just decoy for the real intent of the developers of scamming investors so watch out.

I guess that this year most of the ICO's will struggle on their sales.

I would like to suggest that you are about to lose your money. Almost all ICO's are scams. Read until you understand why you don't want them. At that point you will be in a position to make better choices.

This.
Don't let any ICO hype you unless you know it's 100% safe, reasonable and profitable. Some IRL companies holds ICOs for BTC holders for example, of which you may buy real world shares with cryptocurrency! If anything, you're better off reading tutorials around the internet.

I would advise you to be very careful and get advice from experts. You need to read the whitepaper and know the team behind the project. If you cannot go through the stress then I'd advise you to follow YouTubers like Chris Coney, Boxmining, (Crypto O)Omar Bham and Ivan-o-tech. These guys are very objective and knowledgeable about ICOs. You can check their channels to see if they have made a review about the ICO. I'm not saying that these guys have the final say but I'm saying that they will point you in the right direction. In the end please know that ICOs are very risky to invest in but they can be very profitable.

Hello, any suggestions and advices in investing in ICO's? I have invested in www.orbistransfer.com $1500 already via paypal

You have to be really careful. Anyone can make ICO's these days and most of them - in fact more than %70 - are due to fail.

Check out one of my previous posts below. It will hopefully help you understand ICO's and safety measures when investing.

Hello,
BEWARE ;D A LONG ARTICLE AWAITS

Why do people invest in ICO's?
How to research and choose the best ICO and minimize risks?

ICO's are very profitable. In most successful cases, they can have more than %3000 ROI(Return of Investment) rate, immediately when they are introduced to exchanges. That's a x30 return of your money.

However, anyone can create ICO's these days and one has to be extremely careful when choosing an ICO to invest in. According to some sources, the probability of an ICO being a fraud or simply failing is more than %70.

The things you can do to minimize the risks include:

Reading and deeply comprehending the white-paper of the project --> You have to completely love and believe in the project and its purpose before you put any money inside. It's very important that you understand their aims well, and you think that they are accomplishing an important thing that hasn't been done before and bringing solutions to a still unsolved real life problem. You shouldn't act according to the words of your Private Investment Group managers, popular youtubers or telegram consultants. Remember: You should invest in the ico because you like the idea, not because someone recommended and pledged high profit.

Check the market cap and token price, how many tokens you receive doesn't matter! --> Take a project that gives 100000 tokens in exchange for one ETH. A novice would likely look at the project and get really excited, dreaming about how rich he would get if the token price reaches 1 USD each. However, he would never bother to check the number of tokens to be issued, which is 100 billion!
A token with 100 billion market cap needs to have 100 billion dollar total volume to become 1 USD - (it would be very fortunate to exceed the price of 0.01$). On the other hand, a coin with 20 million market cap will only need a 20 million dollar volume to become 1 USD - the 20 m one is in fact likely to go upwards than 1 USD; more than 10$ is actually possible if it's a strong project.

Research about the background of the project, and the team behind it --> The team. Check their social media accounts. Check their LinkedIn. Are they well educated? Are they strong scholars in the field of their project? Do they have previous ICO's? If yes, were they fraud, success, failure? Do they have scam allegation background? (If information is limited on the team, be suspicious. If the team isn't disclosed at all, pass, that's a scam.

Check their affiliates --> Do they have partnerships?(i.e if they are a cryptobank project, did they secure partneership with a credit card issuer company? Have they acquired legal permit from government? Do they have agreements with major exchanges (i.e Binance, Bittrex)?

Check the community views on the ICO --> Is there a lot of hype? How many people know about it? Lots of hype is always a good sign. ICO review websites can also be checked but be careful, some of them are rumoured to be biased and advertising for bribe.

Lastly, are they in touch with the investors? Does the team communicate with the community efficiently? Do they have a thread on bitcointalk? Do they answer questions expressly? Do they have a telegram channel? A telegram channel with many members never hurts!

Always invest what you can give up. Invest at your own risk. There is always a chance of loss, no matter how cautious you are.

First of all be prepared especially mentally that you're entering a risky venture (the higher your returns the higher the risk). Another interesting thing is that you can multiply your money over 3/4/5 folds if you get a good project. Since you're a newbie, I'll advise you read a lot about each project you'll want to join. Follow major discussion about altcoins and ICOs. Take your time and invest one ICO at a time and don't 'put all your eggs in one basket'. Enjoy your stay here!!

Before joining an ICO, definately do your research on the blockchain project, because purchasing ICO coins is similar to buying stocks of a company except riskier so you want to perform the same standard of research. You want to make sure they have a viable project, experienced development team, good reputation, understandable business model, and of course, growth potential.

We have a blog post on the top 5 ICO's that attended the Coin Agenda conference in Puert Rico.  Check it out  :)

Hello friends,
Investing in ICO is very risky, you must first survey the ICO you will follow, I usually see from various factors
1. check the ICO rating or profile from icobench or other reliable survey ICO site, higher rating is better
2. check ICO social media
3. check admin activites and members in the Telegram ICO group, usually they have telegram group

after confident and have reliable information with the ICO you want invest, now it's up to you to invest or not.
Note: do not expect quick profits, because usually investing in ICO is for the long term.

Hello my friend, before you invest in anything you must understand the whole concept of cryptocurrency. Its important for you to understand the whole conecpt of cryptocurrency, always keep in mind that you do not simply invest in something you are not sure of. Dont jump on the bandwagon and follow what other people do just because you fear you're missing out. A lot of people out there are investing by just following some shilled and hype coins without even conducting prior research. Therefore, my advise to you is do your own research before investing. Hope it helps.

These days most of ICOs dump when they list on exchanges...most coins are dump to 1/10 of ICO price because of the bearish market and bounty token sellers.  So better to find some good projects with good future, but already dumped 1/10 of ICO price and invest in them. I tried that method and it was successful..most Dump coins team try to increase coin price to at least ICO price and you can get at least 5x gain.

I think it's better to read about this crypro world or maybe to check some listing and rating agencies, sites and etc before investing. The way to profit from investing in Bitcoin is to trade on the exchange. It's similar to buying and selling shares. Considering the exorbitant costs plus fluctuating values that are liars, it seems wiser if you don't invest too much money in the beginning. For info only, the daily movement of Bitcoin can reach millions of dollars. At the moment I am writing, WORKING the day of Bitcoin is in the amount of Rp59 million, while the night falls to Rp57.8 million. So, you can access it free and your capital runs out, you don't lose.
