I read an article a couple of days ago, in which a guy was saying that he thinks bitcoin will reach 100.000 $ by the end of 2018.
What do you guys think?
I'd appreciate pertinent and/or fact based opinions.

I had read an article about this also back in November 2017. It was a French economist that said bitcoin will drop in the coming months , just like we're seeing now.. he claimed bitcoin will drop to 6k and by the end of 2018 we will see price up to 60k !

Bitcoin will hit 50k and above but may might not get up to 100k. See bitcoin at 100k next two years.

This is just a hypothesis. I think it's going to be very difficult for bitcoin to go to $100,000. Now the price of bitcoin has gone down a lot, but I don't think it's going to die, which is very hard.

That's an interesting guess, but I think it's going to be hard for bitcoin to reach $100,000 in the short term, which is very difficult for bitcoin. If his guess is accurate, then I will get a large fortune, which is very good.

Bitcoin is getting a lot of attention from the community and in particular it has a very small number so I think that getting bitcoin worth $ 100k is just a matter of time. Investing in bitcoins is the wisest thing I've ever done with my money.

It is possible but not quite. Possible if big investors pour their money in Bitcoin and make $100k price this year. Then again, I should say this is based on speculations only and no fact basis for the claim.

In the world of crypto everything is possible. We have not even reached a $1 trillion marketcap (BTC + altcoins), I think that it will be a major milestone, and if that happens, then possibly BTC will touch the $100K mark. Of course, everything is just a possibility right now.
Furthermore, remember that BTC has gained more market dominance during this market (42.8% right now), and it proves once again that it is still King!

Early days of bitcoin holders are only speculating and guessing if it is possible for bitcoin to reach even $1,000. But after several years, did bitcoin hit $1,000? Yes it did and the highest price it reached was $20,000 but it went down after reaching that ATH. And now it's at $8,000 so those early hopes of $1,000 is still good right? So for us who are thinking if $100,000 possible. Yes. But no one can tell on when it will happen.

I am agree with your opinion regarding to hit 100000$ before 2020. There are a lot of FUD spreads around the market and crypto chats. Fud is biggest enemy and resistance in front of bull market. Before hitting 100k$ level so holders may sell bitcoins in order to cut off profits before it crashes again.

I have read before an articles saying bitcoin could reach to $60k or more. More predictions but we really dont know what prices may hit this year. We can be speculative about market flow though since it is unstable everything is possible once good news attacks or will spread in this industry it will take place.

Yes, I believe that bitcoin price will reach to 100,000$. Everything might happen to bitcoin for a reason especially if many people will still believe bitcoin. Just what we've always here to other people, expect that unexpected. I believed that bitcoin will achieve that higher amount. Just keep believing.

From my view, I don't think the price of bitcoin will reach  100K dollar in year 2018. Maybe someday, next several years, the price will hit that much. But for now, it is hard to get that high price due to a lot of bad news and regulation coming in near future. Also, it is difficult to estimate the price of bitcoin at the end of year. However, I think it will hit 10k in not very long time.

It somewhat sounds impossible but possible and also sounds amazing if ever bitcoin would reach this value. We couldn't tell what will gonna happen to the price of bitcoin today, tomorrow or even on the next month's or year's. It can be seen but for this year I think it's still to early for us to see bitcoin hitting that price.  $100,000 is possible after a year or two but for this year I really doubt it will happen.

There are so many speculations about bitcoin some of them are saying that maybe bitcoin will hit the 1million if the maximum capcity of bitcoin to be mined is reached because more of the big investors if that happen will hold their bitcoin in long time.

He burned up and crashed down to his death. That is a fear with Bitcoin. It’s risen very fast in a small amount of time. I dont believe this at all how can anyone trust on speculations like that which has to be done with deep study all the way along crypto development updates and different facts that affect the bitcoin prices. See, there are many more people who keep speculating different things and its really difficult to trust one person at all. Who are they? They are just crypto enthusiast who wants to imagine bitcoin getting at the top of world. Maybe it could but we couldn't really know it for sure last year in January the price of 1 bitcoin is only around $800-1,000 but at the end of the year it was over $19,000 and almost $20,000.

Well for my owm opinon it would possible to reach the 100k dollars at the end of 2018 but still no onee knows all we can do is predict, and i read some article too , that bitcoin will fall this year its the year for alt coins , we all have different perspective and speculation about what will be the price of bitcoin. I think that this is not real. Most likely bitcoin will cost about 3000-4000 by the end of this year. Yes, of course, it will cost 100,000, but it will not happen earlier than in 2019-2020

my opinion is that it is very hard to reach the 100k $ price because market is sated and may not be accept anymore in a short period of time so maybe 2019 is possible but 2018 is very near I think

Don't get me wrong, I believe we will these prices one day. But to reach that levels we need more time.Adoption has to grow, the second layer has to be build out properly and we probably have to go through another boom and bust cycle. In around 5 years, so ~2 years after the next halving in 2020 when the block rewards gets reduced to 6.25 BTC per Block or 900 BTC per day I think $100k/BTC is definitely possible.
It's a game of patience from now on. The get rich quick times are over, if you can not trade and therefore sell at peaks and have the courage to buy back when the price is low again.
So just buy, hodl and do your normal job for a few more years.

The fact that I haven't posted a link (I don't save all articles that I read) doesn't mean that it wasn't well written, and documented. The article was full of details in which I could see that the author knew what he was talking about and that he wasn't a newbie or talking out of his @$$.

Now I do appreciate the fact that you're trying to keep a level head, seeing as how many people here are overly optimistic, and don't see what's right in front of their eyes. The market is so much influenced by certain big players that it's obvious to see. And also I'm sure there are graphs that show this. The study of those, and of what happened in the past could offer many benefits.

no one can exactly predict bitcoin, $100,000 the price of bitcoin this year? that's impossible, I think maybe it will reach around $15,000 this year because too much FUD for bitcoin this 2018, well let see in the future.

I even read about a news that bitcoin will probably reach 1M$ in the future. That is, if 2% of the current world's wealth is invested in bitcoin. I think that can probably happen if majority of the countries accepted bitcoin and invested money in it. But not just in a few years time. Because of the investment, the value will skyrocket up to 1M$. Unfortunately, I don't have the source because I did not bookmarked it in my phone. So, sorry about that.

There is no basis for this speculation. Haha, I think bitcoin will reach $1 million this year, but that's not possible. The price is now $7,900. Bitcoin needs to rise by $92,100 to reach $100, 000, and I don't think bitcoin will rise so much this year.

i dont know what they think, maybe someday bitcoin can reach 100000$ but if in end of this year? i think it can't be because as we can see that bitcoin rate day by day is going down and down, and i think in end if this year the price of bitcoin only reached 20000 maximum, my analytical from price graphic from last year

speculation is okay but just look at the condition of the bitcoin price at this time. It's been almost half a year and the price fall from bitcoin high at the end of last year. to reach $100,000 the end of this year will be very difficult and even impossible. can achieve that only half the price is a superb achievement.

Nothing is sure about the price of bitcoin as this is volatile in nature. We should deal it in daily basis and not to expect to much with no assurance that this will happen. I still have my bitcoin and hoping that bearish will end as we need to move forward for a better price.

I'm rooting for Bitcoin to reach even more than you predict. Once Bitcoin becomes more popular and faster, its price will grow in a short period of time. I do not think this is going to happen this year. We may see the $100000 level but it will take at least 3 years. Here are some reasons behind it:

I would have called you crazy if you had asked this question last year. But after the $20k ath, reaching $100k is not that hard, given that it has to only x5 from there. In the crypto world always expect the unexpected. And no one could guess when something is going to happen. Its NOT going to happen this year!  You all forget about the MT. Gox trustee that just dumped 406 Million usd worth of Btc on the market since December? What do you think caused the sudden price drop over the last 70 days? Go back and look at the price charts!  And the Trustee says he will be selling more in September. He has 1.7 BILLION worth still to sell off.  Of course he denies that he is affecting the market. Sure he believes that.

Wow! 100k$ each BitcoinBTC was a big amount though I'ma bitcoin enthusiast. Perhaps, possible 30k$ to 50k$ before end of this year.
So I will surely hodl some of bitcoins every time I get earn bitcoin in every ico investment which is I am going to invest in.

It is hard to tell right now since the market price of Bitcoin is currently falling, continuously. It is hard to make assumption at times like this. Volatility is really observable right now. But I am still hoping that its market price will soon rise and recover. Investing now would really be a good idea in order to earn huge profit once the increase takes place.

when compare to last year in the first first 3 months BTC price was around 1000$ but in the end of year that was 15000$+ that was 15 times more than beginning of year.if we assume that also will apply to this year also then we can assume BTC price would be 100,000$.Because still BTC around 8000$(when first 3 months) But we can not exactly say that would be happen. Also Personally I believe bitcoin can be reach around 50000$ in the end of year and also i believe to reach 100,000$ it may take more than 1 year.That's my assume.

I think that we have great opportunities even now. Because in the long term Bitcoin will grow tens of times.  May be ten years later because of this I will be able to retire earlier and And I'll tell friends how I bought Bitcoin for 5K, 10K, 15K USD, while Bitcoin will already cost 200-300K USD. It is hard to believe that it will be able to reach that amount within one year. To think that its market price is falling as of now, assumptions that its market value will increase for about 500% of its highest market price reached last year is totally absurd. I am expecting that before this year end,  its market value will increase but maybe not as this much. Be realistic. Bitcoin is volatile so do not expect that its price will continuously increase. Invest now amd hold, huge profit is on its way just wait for recovery to happen.

I really do not think that anyone could predict the exact time when the price of bitcoin will reach those valuations,to be frank it will take a really long time to reach those valuations,getting those valuations in five years time is a good prediction considering the price would go up a certain percentage every year,if you are digging the facts,it is not a realistic price to achieve by the end of this year but we hope we would touch those valuations in the future.

I think that will be impossible. My limit to this is that bitcoin can only reach 20000 USD and the government will to a bad thing. I am contented even if bitcoin reach 20000 USD because that will be too much compared to our currency.

What I think is that this year's impact on 30K in a very short time is more realistic. I am not convince that it will reach that amount at the end of this year. Remember that the price of bitcoin has dropped almost half of its price of 12,000USD. If it will reach that amount, then it will be time to celebrate.

It cant even hardly reach 20,000USD so 100,000USD would be difficult to reach. This amount is too big for the bitcoin's price prediction. There are many contributing factors why it will hardly reach that amount. Some are because of the current issue about bitcoin.

For me I don't think bitcoin price could increase that much this year.  But people has their own prediction about bitcoin price. Like Kay Van-Petersen an analyst at Saxo Bank who has been right predicted last year's price rise. He says that bitcoin could hit between $50,000 and $100,000 in 2018. People has their own prediction, but that's only a predictions, no one really knows for sure. But if that will gonna happen, that would be a good news. Everybody would be happy.

Yeah, but predictions, at least in this case, are meant to be based on something factual. Not just speculations. I mean, I know everyone wants it to go up, but hopeful wishing is not enough.

I just looked again over some articles and strategists say that it will reach 100.000$ this year, and at the same time another one says it will reach the same threshold in 10 years. To each his own. Anyways, just take articles like these with a grain of salt.

Get control over at least 60 to 70% of it’s liquidity (if this is the right term Idk) then and only then they will let it fly to the infinity as long as they are the ones who benefits the most they won’t care if the rest get some crumbs on the side.

You could compare between crypto and oil look up how they’re destroying nations over to control who gets to get rich and who doesn’t and how far they would go to insure they have control over all the strings, there’s one difference though crypto isn’t physical thing to send armies and jets to destroy it, so it has to be a different way to takeover and I think things like (Facebook and cambridge analytica , wanna cry and other major hacks and incidents) are the digital economical hitman on the way to take over the digital wealth or the new oil.

This is not possible, the BTC is now being monitored by big countries and they are applying the rules to the Crypto market. So such a sudden increase in coin BTC is impossible. Although BTC prices are based on supply and demand, there is a great deal of effort trying to price them.

For me 100.000$ is too much and it is over exagerrated price.It can not reach that price maybe 30k is the nearest possible price it can reach.But who knows 30 years from now.

Again with the governments. I'm not going to go so far as to say that they don't matter when it concerns bitcoin, but you really can use/spend bitcoin even if governments ban it.

Some are saying that it is but it my opinion it won't because that's too much for a currency espeically a decentralized one. Also given that the situation in the market at this moment is bad, since the start of this year, the market is having difficulties on making its way up again. Bitcoin is already struggling on its recovery and from reaching the 20k usd mark. If this thing is possible this might happen after many years from now.

I think the price of $100,000 will only be reached in 2020. I have my doubts regarding the high prices. Possibly we will still see the price of bitcoin under $10,000 next month. This is just speculation. I have some background in technical analysis, but very basic. Tax day was 17th of this month and the price begin to rise again but a very slow climb. Just like I expected.

It's a bit too high in a span of just 3 Quarters. I would love this to happen but unfortunately I don't think it will. The speculated amount is very high and the time is very fast, yet nothing is impossible with bitcoin because it may increase double or triple anytime. The only definite about this is that it is not going to fall to low to the point that even the poorest will be able to invest in it.

Everything is prediction we have to move according to the market situation and its demand. Maybe in next 10 years the specified price is possible to reach but no specific guarantee when and how long it will take.

I think that is unrealistic in the upcoming years but maybe it can happen within 6-10 years from now. Bitcoin's price was always increasing every year and I think it hasn't reached its peak yet. If you think about it, its just at the moment of increasing until it goes down last January. Maybe there are just a lot of bitcoin investors who sold their coin and it affect the price. Same thing might happen this year but the price will be a bit higher, I am expecting $30,000 by December.

I would not take these kind of predictions seriously. It's a good thing that more and more famous people are getting positive about Bitcoin. Cryptocurrencies will become more popular and expensive in the future, but why all of these who are trying to predict future Bitcoin price focus only on it. Very true BUT it didnt rise to that level in 3 quarters.  So 100k isnt realistic for this year.  25-30k is quite realistic.

That is quite possible if we will just think that more and more people will invest in bitcoin and also if the demand of the people will never cease to grow. Some experts have already predicted that bitcoin will have hundreds of thousands of value per bitcoin in the next decade.

Here $100k target is not easy for sure, but bitcoin can manage to do this next year most probably.

I definitely believe Bitcoin price will reach $100,000 within the next five years. I don't think it can reach it by the end of this year. There are so many improvement in it's techology and more ETF are coming should get more money from big Investment companies.

   I think the price you mentioned here is possible till the end of this year. 25-30K is reachable while 100K is far away and all that depends upon the investment volume. I do not think I need to wait for 5 years, I'm sure that if the price before August could reach $ 12,000 then the $ 100,000 price will be reached next year, and I'm sure the end of the year the price will reach at least $ 45,000.

As far as i believe in Bitcoin, the guy in question over speculate the value of Bitcoin for 2018 because even though if Bitcoin value will reach such height one should not expect such high value for Bitcoin in 2018. Although what i believe is that Bitcoin market value will appreciate more than the height we saw in the late last year if all things continue the way things are going. 

We're not sure of the reality, same time we cannot deny there is no possibility. It has possibilities and the reason for this is the previous price pumping crossing the $19000. By those days bitcoin was under speculation to reach $5000 and so on, but in unexpected time it reached above $19000 marking new ath. In this regard even $100000 can be reached.

I am more conservative with my estimate, In the short term I see us retesting the 6k mark, but I see up rising slowly over the summer and hopefully we can reach our ATH by year end again. It does not matter how much you read on it, Nobody really knows.

Well everything is possible, and no one knows what will happen before the end of this year. It could either bitcoin go up to 100,000 or bitcoin will go down deep and go back to lowest price since 2015.
