Google will ban all relevant types of ads with cryptocurrency in June 2018, this is done for updates to their Financial Services policy.

Google just 'rearranged' some crypto ads which indicates a fake finger or another attempt of fraud on behalf of crypto. I think it's good to do because it's a must for google to protect its users against ads that will harm.

Obviously, Google is doing it under the pressure of the regulators. But i don't like this hypocritical rhetoric of "protecting users". Wouldn't it be more useful for users protection not to allow into Google Play Store phishing apps or stealth miners?

It isn't Google's fault that they have to succumb to the pressure of the government. It is like having a gun to your head and having two options of which neither is pretty but you go with the least ugliest outcome. They are less afraid of customers getting wrongly scammed than they are the government, or so this action would appear. You can surely bet that the non thinking part of the population ate this propaganda up like nobody's business though lol.

I do not think this is a problem from regulatory pressure or any government, do not have to panic about this, facebook has also done it earlier this year. Remember, the ban is not for crypto, but advertising crypto product and ads offers from ico. Other risky financial products are also prohibited by google and we do not have to worry about this.

They did it right, because they protect people from the influence of advertising. Now a very large number of Ico and after viewing the advertisement, people no longer understand which ones are really good which are not. Let them better develop and create their products to attract investors and not marketing.

I do not think that's going to happen. Forbidding ads on the crypto market would be a problem for Google. Because the profits of Google when advertising for cryptocurrency is quite large. If they really stop all advertising related to cryptocurrency, that would greatly affect their revenue. So I think this is just FUD, not important.

Exactly, Google is taking a lot of measure in order to control the flow of ICO, Governments are looking for registered ICO's who are following their rules and regulation because we have seen many ICO's are getting into scam without any further developments mentioned on their roadmap.

I can't wait for them to do this, it is very disturbing when Google itself spam my phone will several scam ICO projects, although this is what one get for using a free platfrom, you pay with one form or the other way round. This will rely bring some sanity to the space because for good projects will have no problem rasing money from the space

I don't think so that they are under the pressure of the regulators. They might be doing this base and according to their own will on what they can see the rampant of cryptocurrencies and the scams can't be denied too.

Been there and wrecked my previous phone the time before I knew about crypto mining and stuffs. And now I have a debt to pay because it was an installment plan, sad to say it was those stealth miners fault and my ignorance too. Last year I have downloaded an app that was mining secretly and guess what where did it came from? Well from Facebook, someone send me a message and the moment I clicked it was installed and for some reason my PC get laggy, after 2 days the message was deleted saying it was a harmful element lol. The best part is it is automatically sending to every friends that I have in FB and they kept asking me what it was and I all I say it was virus and please don't click. Who among you have experience this? Oh I was just agreeing with LaLegiste in his idea of google being more observant on applications that have malware rather than banning crypto adds.

I read that you can still apply and get accepted for crypto related ads? It's a great thing because I've seen so many get rich quic schemes promising people that they'll become millionaires if they learn about Bitcoin. Or other scam ICOs and Ponzi schemes that would take advantage of new people's wallets that are trying to learn about crypto.

I'm not a holder, I'm not a trader, I'm also not an investor so I will not be affected by this news and the crypto market won't be affected so much cause Google is not the only one that we can use to advertise anything on the internet, everyone can find out a lot of other way to advertise their ICO project or crypto without using Google :)

Indeed! And today personal data flow from Facebook has taken place. Both Google and FB should better concetrate on protecting us from themselves first and then think about crypto related ads imho.

There no doubt on this matter which is actually true in my own perspective on where this kind of decisions is really under in the pressure or regulators and I don't really believe on that line where they done such decision for the sake of "protecting users" there might be some areas but generally this is really a dumb decision to be made.In short they are enforced to do such thing because theres something behind it.

Yes, there is a great possibility that they can do that because all the control for their website is in their hands, but look if they will removed or banned crypto related ads from their site can't they think that millions of people visited their site just to seek crypto related ads or news? its their lost if they will have to that, not only google are the browser on the net and FB as will.

I think it's a good news, I am tired of seeing all the scam ico ads when I watch a youtube videos with my family. This may sounds bad in the short term but in the long term it will make crypto looks more legit.

Google removing the cryptocurrency related ads is a big news, one among the legendary service community coming forward with such a plan affects the growth to some extent. Possibly bitcoin will overcome using the other possible ways available for the promotion purposes. Recently Facebook too made it effective, but the growth got disturbed for a while and started to recover.

I think Google team have a reason why they remove the crypto adds, if we look at the positive sides they remove crypto adds to protect the user and reduce the scam ICO's, Google team concern to us because they notice that the scam ICO' slighty increasing.

there are lots of scam, I think google has always been neutral regarding the promotion of ICOs. As what we experience from before, there are lots of people who made scam ICOs. Let us take this action as a positive moves.

You are wrongly understand the Google restriction because Facebook and Google both are depends on the USA government but USA is against in cryptocurrency so they plan to avoid the cryptocurrency advertisement because Russia is supported to cryptocurrency and it will implementing the legalisation of cryptocurrency so USA is restrict the cryptocurrency.

google did the right thing. I very much agree with their ban on crytop ads. This will make the market better later. Because there will be no appearance of the ICO created for fraudulent purposes

But it's attack bitcoin value globally so it become disadvantage for investor and advantage for new investor.

2018 feels like the year of regulation in crypto

I can see a lot of people are afraid of this news :)). Google can do anything they want and it'll not affect to much to the crypto market cause there are so many other places that we can use to adveritse like Bing, Yahoo,....Although both Google and Facebook are going to ban all crypto and ICO ads but it'll affect to the market only in a short time for few days or maybe in just a week.

Google ban in good think for crypto market because without Google ads there will be much less fake coins. So people will trust in crypto coins an market will recover.

I think this is great but banning only crypto currency which is not legit. This way, we know that anything posted in google, they already reviewed and that means its all legitimate projects. They only thing we have to verify is they project will be successful or not. Go ahead google but don't ban all.

Ignore those negative news , spread the positive to crypto so the other people will convince to invest to bitcoin and the cryptocoin so the pricr again will increase. Facebook , google banned cryptocurrency I hope more famous website will ba cryptocurrency so the people will not be scared to invest to this kind of opporunity. As far as I know, Google has officially announced the ban of this advertisement, most likely this is due to regulatory pressure, but not to Google's own desire.

I'm sure they know that will potentially lost a lot of revenues here. We all know that putting ads is very profitable as well, so banning them will surely hurt them that's why they are restructuring it in June. They don't need a total ad ban, but at least policies that will be both beneficial to each parties.


Do you honestly belief that they are doing to protect people? Who's people are you talking about here? They are all businessman. Maybe they are just under a lot of pressure from the US government that's why they needed to do it. But for the sake of protecting others? Nah, I don't think so.

However this news is a great news to the real investors, because if this will be implemented as soon as possible many small scale scammers will be out of business, but that's not a great point. we can just rely to mozila, Safari or any other browser that supports crypto. we'll gonna see this if this will come true.

What means "a lot" in percent of their ad business? I didn't find anywhere an estimative value, but I do not think crypto related ads represents even one percent of their volume.

If understood more in then this is pretty good because it can be said not everyone will understand about crypto ads and if they don't understand this is just annoying only. but it looks like it is going to be quite influential on later crypto price, but hopefully, it won't have a big effect because Google still exists that could encourage crypto for a ride.

good regulation to organize this final advertisement we often see in google even in yotube, remember they just forbid for advertisement of ICO not forbidding to support certain project. so I do not think I worry too much about the ban.

Actually its a good thing in Cryptocurrency industry . I think they're just trying to prevent and minimize the threat of fraud and scams circulating in any web platforms. But because of that act we lose one of the biggest advertisement web platform and it may affect other legitimate and credible Cryptocurrency advertisement.

Well now youtube is the child of google they have blocked those related to Cryptocurrency. The scam they are trying to reach people on every means, google they do not want to deceive their users so they has decided to ban the Crypto advertisement.

Well, I am pretty that this bad behaviour or decision of google (banning crypto ads) because of government pressure on them. As well, it is true that there are many fake cryptocurrencies and ICO's and they should be eliminated, but banning all cryptocurrencies ads is a strange decision, because Google has a huge financial income due to crypto ads.

Google is banning only ads those who promoting their ico's with Google adwords,this does not affect to crypto at all, all cryptocurrency websites will still show in google's search engine.

Google is just one of information channel. and it does not effect in Crypto value. there are still many social media can be used to advertise Crypto. Crypto is still used in many economy fields in the world
