hello im looking to pay around 200 dollars for a 1080p monitor. any sugestions?

Just try to find LED monitor not LCD. LEDs are better they have better contrast

You can try an asus or benq and of course led and i also suggest a size around 22 inch. And you if you are a gamer them you should look at the response time.smaller  time means better monitor.

 i agree with that argument, response time for games should be max 2ms

I agree and they have much muc better color than LCD. Only white collor is better on LCDs

Just look for one you think you might like then watch some reviews or something :)

The make is entirely on you. Pick one which you like the look of and have looked at some reviews. Popular ones like: Samsung and sony are normally good.

I got a 50 lb 17 inch crt. it fucking rocks.  I also got a conference table from ikea holding it up.  My computer is connected to a vintage stereo that would just blow you away.  Its the best setup eva'.  So what if it uses more watts, I don't fucking care.

Get the Dell S2240L 21.5 inch for about $150. Best value for money in my opinion. Very poppular where I live.

Once you've seen a 120Hz screen, you cannot watch a normal monitor.

I agrree with you, there is no more headache or pain in you eyes it refreshes so quickly

mine is going at 60 hz. I stare at it over 8 hours daily and my eyes dont hurt.

I didnt say that everyone has pain in their eyes, but you hould try high rate Mhz monitors.

120Hz can solve many problems for people that have headache or pain in the eyes.

If you don't, you can only agree that it is way more comfortable, looking the screen is a pleasure whatever you are looking at. Normal monitors look horrible after that experience.

I was once told that the higher the hz the better it is for the eye.... 120 hz!!!

LCD suck. They don't last long and the colour is terrible.

What is the reason hateing LED monitors

when you buy a cheap monitor for 200$ just go to a local shop and take what looks the best to you.. there isnt really any significant difference at that level

i bought one of these a couple of weeks ago, cheap monitor but compared to the rest in the same price range this on was by far the best. the screen is crystal clear but you do get a lot of reflection if by a sunny window.

I am using ASUS MX239... the monitor have speaker built in so its more neat....

Why 25 Inch? Depending on the space you have in your house depends on the size which is best. Although, it's debatable on what brand is the best. But, there is no debate that LED is the best graphical and long term choice.

32 inch is best... its like your TV + gaming....

I use an ASUS VG248QE, sometimes you can find them on sale for $200. Pretty nice monitor, though some people don't like the color. 144hz is nice, and nvidia 3d vision is pretty cool too  ;D

Choose monitor that have high refresh rate, no flicker and very high in pixel.. This would be better for the eye and brain in the long run...

I currently have the Dell Ultrasharp 23" U2312HM (http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?baynote_bnrank=0&baynote_irrank=0&c=us&cs=19&l=en&sku=320-2807&~ck=baynoteSearch). It's great! Haven't had any trouble with it yet. There are many reviews of this monitor on the internet, and all I found told that it is a great monitor.

If you are looking for a good 23" monitor, you should definately buy one of those. (And no, i'm not working at Dell or something).

Dell stuff are the best ones, I have a dell laptop too. Never had any problems

I also have two of those dell monitors at work, much better than most all cheap crap out there at nearly the same price.

Right now the best gaming monitor for pc is the Asus RoG Swift PG278Q because it is the first monitor to have G-sync plus it looks badass!  :D

I am comfortable with 20 inches monitor for PC. Bigger monitors do not make it any better for PC.

I heard the Dell ones are actually quite nice. They're relatively affordable and are able to compete with premium manufacturers, as well. I think a lot of people who like the Apple Cinema Displays opt for buying them instead.

I say for 120 more vertical pixels and pick up the DELL U2412M Ultrasharp IPS screen.

Not only is it in that range, but it's resolution is slightly better than 1080p (1920x1200 instead; 16:10, not 16:9).

I have two of them, one rotated vertically that I use for coding (yup, you can rotate them!), and another as my primary screen. When I got to pick out a monitor for my new job, I snagged one for the workplace as well.

I've had several makes and models of monitors before, but I have never been as satisfied as I am with this monitor.

Also, if you're obsessive compulsive, you'll be glad to know DELL has a very strict dead-pixel policy. I have zero dead pixels on any of these 3 screens. :)
