That is enough to access your wallet bro. If you do not have the JSON file. Please confirm that what is sign up you have used while you access it first. View w/ Address Only Mnemonic Phrase MetaMask / Mist Hardware wallet(Ledger and Trezor) These are useful to access your wallet. Please check the above option and confirm again. If you still unable to access it. You don't need password for MEW, you need it to create new wallet. But I still have my public and my private key. Private key is only thing what matters, if you have it you are fine. Public key is public and available to everyone and private key is important to you :D With these elements, is it possible to modify my password? No.Title: Re: password myetherwallet Post by: Faraha_JJJ on March 25, 2018, 02:34:28 AM I don't think it's possible, but there are few thirdy party who are providing assistance. But not 100% sure if they can help:

But private keys is not recommend because its high risk from phising and hacked, for security only use metamask

What? in myetherewallet is not important things your password right the only things you need to secure is your private key that you need to open your wallet, so the function of your password is to make your wallet and a side that is nothing, its based on what I know. Title: Re: password myetherwallet Post by: imstillthebest on March 25, 2018, 06:36:02 AM Hello everybody, Sadly, I have forgotten my password of myetherwallet. But I still have my public and my private key. With these elements, is it possible to modify my password? Thanks. Kind regards. no , you cannot modify your password using those methods. pasword is only used before you create your mew account and after that , you will need to choose a few methods in order to unlock your account. in your case you have chosen a private key. therfor you need to use your private key everytime you open your mew account and theres no need to use a password anymore. you should kept your private keys in a safe place such as in note pad or memos in order to have a copy of it. Title: Re: password myetherwallet Post by: bitcoin.beda on March 25, 2018, 02:55:05 PM As long as you have the private key, you are ok as you can still access your account.
Just use the private key in logging in, password is just one way of opening your account. Therefore if you forgot it and you have a private key, you can still use the private key in accessing your account. Just be careful on storing your private key, as this is also cannot be changed. Title: Re: password myetherwallet Post by: jhenfelipe on March 25, 2018, 04:05:26 PM It is not possible to recover or reset your MyEtherWallet password in any way.
Knowing that now, what else do you wanna ask? If you want to know if it's still possible to access your wallet with just private keys, then the answer is yes. Afaik, MEW does not require a password to access your wallet using the Private Key, you just have to be sure that you're in the right site/correct URL before unlocking it. But I still have my public and my private key. With these elements, is it possible to modify my password? Thanks. Kind regards. Don`t worried about your password in creating your wallet, its because password in myetherwallet is only for the creation of your wallet but if you want to open and use your wallet the only one thing that you need is your private key, so be careful about your private key because is your link to open your account. Title: Re: password myetherwallet Post by: Chuokie on March 28, 2018, 09:30:38 PM No, when you forget your password then forget it now, but you can still open your MEW with the private key, that's why it has many option to open it, but if you want you can create a new wallet then transfer all your tokens to your new wallet to be safe, and don't forget to save your password on your gmail.
Title: Re: password myetherwallet Post by: langlamobile on March 29, 2018, 07:54:37 AM it's okay if you forget your password, i dont even remember mine at all. Just keep your private key and JSON (?) file.
Title: Re: password myetherwallet Post by: Angel0 on March 29, 2018, 09:16:48 PM Just to keep safe and not to lose your money or token in the future you might consider making a new one and transfer what you have and keep your password in safe place.
Title: Re: password myetherwallet Post by: terrific on March 29, 2018, 11:06:47 PM It's okay if you forgotten the password of your myetherwallet account.
Wallets there aren't composed of login username and password. Public key will not help you to modify your password as your private key will serve as your password. And that's the most needed words that you need to recover your account. Title: Re: password myetherwallet Post by: superving on March 30, 2018, 02:41:31 AM No need to worry my mate even if you lost your password as long as still have your private keys you can still open your MEW account. Just secure your private keys from hackers.

When it comes to Json file you do need the password, as you use password to encrypt the Json file. So if you forget your password you will never get your wallet unlocked by Json file. Private key can be the only way to access your address. However private key is the most dangerous way for me and I never use my private key. Better to store it in a safe way and use encrypted Json. Title: Re: password myetherwallet Post by: Mateox on March 30, 2018, 09:53:39 PM You have many options to access your private key. One of them is with the private key and you have it, so you are good.
The private key is very important and you need to have it. Don't lose it. Title: Re: password myetherwallet Post by: Quidat on March 30, 2018, 10:29:36 PM Hello everybody, Maybe you are pertaining into the password being created on the first time when you create a new mew wallet address?Am I right? Those are just password to encrypt json.file. if you do possess your private keys then you can anytime logged in to your myetherwallet without any problems since the common thing you would need to access is the key. This is why this information is very sensible.Sadly, I have forgotten my password of myetherwallet. But I still have my public and my private key. With these elements, is it possible to modify my password? Thanks. Kind regards. Title: Re: password myetherwallet Post by: CllickerQluicker on March 30, 2018, 11:48:26 PM password myetherwallet is not important
if you still have private key is enough, you still can access youre addres Title: Re: password myetherwallet Post by: whirlcoin on March 31, 2018, 08:00:23 AM It is not possible to recover or reset your MyEtherWallet password in any way. Password is required only ro access that account on that desktop but if we have the private key we xan open the same wallet in the another system. All we need to do is go to the official MEW and go to the wallet create option with the private key.Knowing that now, what else do you wanna ask? If you want to know if it's still possible to access your wallet with just private keys, then the answer is yes. I think you only need to keep the private key safe because it is enough to access your wallet. You do not need the password because its purpose was only to create a new wallet which you have been using now. Title: Re: password myetherwallet Post by: bunnylegacy on April 01, 2018, 06:41:09 AM Hello everybody, for the password mytherwallet you can easily change it, but if the private key is lost it can harm you because the private key is the source of your mytherwallet addressSadly, I have forgotten my password of myetherwallet. But I still have my public and my private key. With these elements, is it possible to modify my password? Thanks. Kind regards. Title: Re: password myetherwallet Post by: okissabam on April 01, 2018, 01:21:51 PM I think it is completely okay if you forgot your password because whenever I logged in to my MEW account I just use my private keys instead of my password. Just don’t lose them because that’s your last hope of logging in to your account. I have a friend who deleted a single letter on her private keys and she never got her account back and just created a new one instead.
Title: Re: password myetherwallet Post by: mimipipi on April 02, 2018, 01:37:02 PM Actually forgot password is not a problem if we still have its private key because to enter myetherwallet can use private key.Myetherwallet the most important is the private key, if forgot its only json and password, make it a habit to create an account always recorded everything including backups layered in 1- 2 drives.
Title: Re: password myetherwallet Post by: davida on May 17, 2018, 12:05:56 PM Password is not a thing to worry about for your etherwallet as long as you already created the account and your private key is safe, you need not panic. Your private key is all you need when you want to access your wallet. Try not to forget your private key as it might be a thing to worry about when mishandled.
