Hello everybody,

Sadly, I have forgotten my password of myetherwallet.
But I still have my public and my private key.
With these elements, is it possible to modify my password?

Thanks.

Kind regards.
Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Do you have JSON file while you created the wallet. That is enough to access your wallet bro. If you do not have the JSON file. Please confirm that what is sign up you have used while you access it first.
View w/ Address Only
Mnemonic Phrase
MetaMask / Mist
Hardware wallet(Ledger and Trezor)

These are useful to access your wallet. Please check the above option and confirm again. If you still unable to access it.

Use the below link.

Sadly, I have forgotten my password of myetherwallet.

You don't need password for MEW, you need it to create new wallet.
Private key is only thing what matters, if you have it you are fine.
Public key is public and available to everyone and private key is important to you  Cheesy
With these elements, is it possible to modify my password?
No.

I don't think it's possible, but there are few thirdy party who are providing assistance. But not 100% sure if they can help:

I think Myetherwallet no need password bro,, password only use at first create new wallet, and for open you wallet you can unlock by json file, private keys, and other. But private keys is not recommend because its high risk from phising and hacked, for security only use metamask

What? in myetherewallet is not important things your password right the only things you need to secure is your private key that you need to open your wallet, so the function of your password is to make your wallet and a side that is nothing, its based on what I know.

no , you cannot modify your password using those methods. pasword is only used before you create your mew account and after that , you will need to choose a few methods in order to unlock your account. in your case you have chosen a private key. therfor you need to use your private key everytime you open your mew account and theres no need to use a password anymore. you should kept your private keys in a safe place such as in note pad or memos in order to have a copy of it.

As long as you have the private key, you are ok as you can still access your account.
Just use the private key in logging in, password is just one way of opening your account.
Therefore if you forgot it and you have a private key, you can still use the private key in accessing your account.

Just be careful on storing your private key, as this is also cannot be changed.

It is not possible to recover or reset your MyEtherWallet password in any way.
Knowing that now, what else do you wanna ask? If you want to know if it's still possible to access your wallet with just private keys, then the answer is yes. Afaik, MEW does not require a password to access your wallet using the Private Key, you just have to be sure that you're in the right site/correct URL before unlocking it.

You dont need your password when logging into myetherwallet,  private key is enough for you to open your account,  always put your private key in a secure place ,dont give it to someone or you will lose your coins.

Don`t worried  about your password in creating your wallet, its because password in myetherwallet is only for the creation of your wallet but  if you want to open and use your wallet the only one thing that you need is your private key, so be careful about your private key because is your link to open your account.

No, when you forget your password then forget it now, but you can still open your MEW with the private key, that's why it has many option to open it, but if you want you can create a new wallet then transfer all your tokens to your new wallet to be safe, and don't forget to save your password on your gmail.

Just to keep safe and not to lose your money or token in the future you might consider making a new one and transfer what you have and keep your password in safe place.

It's okay if you forgotten the password of your myetherwallet account.
Wallets there aren't composed of login username and password.
Public key will not help you to modify your password as your private key will serve as your password.
And that's the most needed words that you need to recover your account.

No need to worry my mate even if you lost your password as long as still have your private keys you can still open your MEW account. Just secure your private keys from hackers.

When it comes to Json file you do need the password, as you use password to encrypt the Json file. So if you forget your password you will never get your wallet unlocked by Json file. Private  key can be the only way to access your address. However private key is the most dangerous way for me and I never use my private key. Better to store it in a safe way and use encrypted Json.

You have many options to access your private key. One of them is with the private key and you have it, so you are good.
The private key is very important and you need to have it. Don't lose it.

Maybe you are pertaining into the password being created on the first time when you create a new mew wallet address?Am I right? Those are just password to encrypt json.file. if you do possess your private keys then you can anytime logged in to your myetherwallet without any problems since the common thing you would need to access is the key. This is why this information is very sensible.
