Title: Newbies, don’t feel unwelcome.
Post by: Woterry on March 25, 2018, 01:36:03 PM
Hello fellow newbies, I want to be as straight forward as possible for this post. First of all, please do not feel unwelcome if high rankers or admins will criticize or delete your post. Admins have their valid reasons why they deleted your post in the first place. Treat this forum as a corporate or a respectful forum.

Second, if high rankers debated on how you create or delivered an opinion about it, please do not take it personally. Accept it as a lesson learned, or if you think you’re right, make it as your strength.

Lastly, do not feel unwelcome. Everyone here welcomes you to write your opinion, post questions and insights for the knowledge of others. Good luck to all newbies, and most of all, just follow the rules alright? Have a wonderful day!

There's honestly no divide between new members and the older members. Newbies can contribute the same way after all, besides minor differences like signature limitations and some anti-spam filters. The perceived divide comes from some newbies acting like spammers and being somewhat toxic in general. People really don't discriminate otherwise.

If you're a newbie who doesn't ask questions that can be answered by the search bar, thinks about what they post, and follows the rules, there's no reason why people would be hostile towards you.

Sometimes 'newbie' status only applied to one's account, but how he or she delivers his or her message is depend on their mental capacity, no offense, but people who are more active in English conversation, whether it's written or verbal, they deliver their message better than the others, no discriminating here but it's real.

As far as how they interact with each other it depend now how they want to be respected, it does shows really how their education and self control are, but sometimes also there are newbies who really are irritating.

Sound advice.  I think the takeaway is that opinions will be challenged, and the bar is set high.

Thank you so much for this very encouraging post.  To be honest, really, this is exactly what I feel the very first time I join this forum, worried that my post is not so good and that it might just be deleted.  I read and learned every topics I came accross in the internet, understood some and tried to learn and searched it in the net for the terms, what it means  and and how it is applied. Eventually I learn and along the way, your knowledge will increase as you go on. Just be patience and really invest time to learn.

New or old members are treated the same way. And for those post that are deleted, take time to read the Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0)

1. No zero or low value, pointless or uninteresting posts or threads. [1][e]

2. No off-topic posts.

So if someone's post was deleted, it's either any of 1 or 2.

Don't take no shit from anyone.

And if you do. Tell them your honest opinion. They will respect that!

PS: If you are really sensitive you can get the "Treat me like a rotten egg badge". Some of the members wears it with pride.

Use bitcointalk to find out opinions or technical issues, but beware of trading suggestions.
sometimes people are hursh, but believe me, we are hursh with each others only to help ourselves and new members to avoid scammers and wrong decisions
bitcoin has a great community and crypto is growing a lot but you have to DYOR with everything that surround you here
study a lot and always ask to veterans
this is not free money, it's a long therm ride!

I just feel discourage sometimes when and honest post was deleted by a mod when they said because it wasn't relevant!

but besides that really getting the hang of things in this forum.

I will be a noob for a long time but will always remain teachable!

Just like what I posted above, it's either 1 or 2 so if it was a good / honest post but you posted it on the wrong topic that was placed in the wrong section so it's still a candidate to be deleted. It's hard to understand this if you are still new in the forum but rules are rules and there's a right place for each discussion and topics.

correct and i also also agree. I also think that when someone doesnt like something you have posted they will automatically report it to a mod or something. So i mean sometimes i think it can be a problem but like you said i will expect to get post deleted sometimes and not to sweat because theres always room for more! :) happy posting

Well it is hard being a newbie, no matter what. I had a question and tried asking it on this forum, but it seems like newbie members don't get their posts viewed at all, so will have to resort to my own research and comments to get info on stuff.  :P

So theres one way of getting attention and answering your posts as a new member  ;D

Your welcome. I was once a newbie here in forum and learned a lot of things so sometimes there are chances that those post that I want to keep on reading are deleted but it's become clear to me why those are deleted. Don't be encouraged, this forum is a big help and is a great community.

I’m happy you were encouraged. I’m telling you, I’ve been in your situation before, and our ranks are never far out. But I’m telling you, once you get the hang of it, everything follows. You will not notice what you’ve become here in the forum and what you’ve achive. Then you look back and post the same thing as I did now. Remember this post as your stepping stone. Good luck!

Thank you for this one good sir. With this posted here in this thread about questioning why posts are deleted. This is the first thing that they should look at and this should be the first thing that they should reflect on. Please read rules carefully guys, you’ll never know if you violate something if you didn’t read it. Good job good sir.

Don't worry that your are not welcome in the forum. There are lots of active,, prestigious users like Jet Cash, TMAN, The Pharmacist, Danny Hamilton, Tyrant, and so on., Who are readily to help newcomers as long as they are constructive users, not spammers and not come from account farms. Higher ranked users (of course most of users) are really hate spammers and account farmers.

Thanks for making this topic. I got disappointed when one of my long posts was deleted by a senior member for no apparent reason (only the standard BCT reason was stated). But now I understand that he/she had the best intention of the forum in mind when deleting a post of a Newbie. In retrospect, my post may not have been suitable for the topic where it was posted in the first place.

The best thing to follow in this forum is to take nothing to heart. Read, learn, improve everyday. And you will understand why senior members do what they do. Probably, you will not get everyone. But one day you will be a senior member too.

See, experience is the greatest teacher of all. And by that experience it can help you understand what’s the reason behind the actions of the high rankers to us newbies. Just feel free to express yourselves but be mindful of the rules while typing every word in your post. Thank yo for sharing in the thread sir.

Am I right? I was just wondering what made newbies post about how they treated here in our forum. So I did a research on what’s happening between both parties (newbies and admins/high rankers). Then the reason why newbies are feeling unwelcomed is because high rankers don’t have a time to explain why they deleted or discourage the post. Now this post is for being the voice for both parties.

Awww :( Here’s a good advise, I can see that you already have a lot of activities. And that’s a good thing. Continue to be active and read about how they (merit earners) post and how they interact with other members here. You can learn how to post without violatinng any rules and learn how to post quality once as well. It’s like hitting 2 birds in one stone.

This is true. Newbies should not come in with the feeling that they are not welcomed! I personally didn’t feel that way when I joined. Like every other forum/community, when you come in, you’re to learn all you can about it and follow the rules.

The thing about other newbies here is just wanted to do what they want and how they can rank up fast to make bigger money. So if other members criticize their work, they will be somehow mad about it for delaying their strategy. They don’t understand the principle of being a newbie is to learn and to practice good attitude among others.

There's nothing wrong with being a newbie. Just do a lot of research on the market leaders and look for ways to maximize your time.

I like airdrops. The time and effort / reward ratio can be very cozy if you pick the right ones. You just need an off-exchange wallet (like My Ether Wallet) to hold ERC20 tokens built on Ethereum.

I have an easy-to-read list of 35+ active airdrops on my twitter profile. I even just gave it a nice little top 10 system. Just copy / paste the twitter url in my signature then click on the Google spreadsheet.

It would be good to know what the requirements are to post on the rest of this forum though.   I can certainly understand the need for those requirements, being no stranger to the site.   But I feel the actual rules may have gotten lost in the shuffle somewhere recently.

Exactly! Newbies are supposed to read the post and understand how the forum works instead of posting from the day one. I have seen newbies doing serious mistakes and getting themselves in trouble. For example, as soon as they realize that there is a lending there is a lending subsection on this forum where they can borrow Bitcoins they immediately post their request for a no collateral loan and senior members post red trust feedback to prevent scams resulting in a damage of reputation of newbies. The best practice is to read as much as they can before posting anything.

I'm not sure the rank in this forum has any bearings in real life.  A Legendary here could be a 20 year old unemployed who didn't finish college and a newbie could be a college professor.  Although it doesn't mean a 20-year college dropout is not wealthy or successful, just saying....

So I guess we're all just replying with nonsense then until our stats allow us to post elsewhere?

lol

I realize there is a need for screening but this entire thread category is comical to read.     It looks like one of those coin threads where people are obviously just posting to get airdrops.

Why not just upgrade the forum software?   SMF has some pretty good tools for screening in later versions.   And the site would get hacked less too.

There is no difference between the newbies and a old members. Ranks can't define the level of you knowledge. A newbie may knows better than a legendary depending on the topic and hi/her experience. Bitcointalk is a forum for a healthy debates where everyone is welcome. :)

I just feel discourage sometimes when and honest post was deleted by a mod when they said because it wasn't relevant!

Thank you for the reply and explanation
Your welcome. I was once a newbie here in forum and learned a lot of things so sometimes there are chances that those post that I want to keep on reading are deleted but it's become clear to me why those are deleted. Don't be encouraged, this forum is a big help and is a great community.

Don't mention it there are even members that you should follow their insightful post and informative. I'm just here to give you an idea on what are the basics.

Thank you for this one good sir. With this posted here in this thread about questioning why posts are deleted. This is the first thing that they should look at and this should be the first thing that they should reflect on. Please read rules carefully guys, you’ll never know if you violate something if you didn’t read it. Good job good sir.
And don't be hot if the mods are deleting your posts, you have to respect their decision why that post has been deleted. Good luck to all of you.

When merit come l feel that newbie is not welcome. I'm guessing that lm not gonna rank up anymore.L feel that lm not gonna help anymore of my other family to member here so that everybody could experience the best future that bitcoin offers.

Thanks for the insight and encouragement. I am new to the cryptocurrency world and trying to learn as much as possible. I have already purchased bitcoin and am looking for a source of passive income. Any ideas where to go would be well received. I need some initial startup capital as well.

You can always start ranking up here and try to join bounties. That can help you earn a starting income and probably more than you expected. After earning some in bounties, continue to do it while studying the game of trading. Put your earnings to the trading game and you can earn a lot. Just remember to study first and don’t rush things. Good luck to you good sir.

I think you already ranked up to newbie. Just be patient and learn a lot more about quality posting and the basic rules here in the forum. Ask informative questions and give ideas if you have good ones. Study hard about the community and be ready to commit. Understand the environment and learn from your experiences. While you’re doing it, you won’t expect that you’ve been ranking up. Be consistent, always.

respect for this thread.
thank you, indeed some who rated the newbie feel that they are not accepted, I also had time to feel like that. but it's natural for new people to join, the most important thing is we have to keep learning and struggling, make lessons comment or posting from a higher ranking. do not take heart, keep doing the best, keep learning, and comment on the topic well and useful
once again, i respect with this thread. cool

"No zero or low value, pointless or uninteresting posts or threads" - That's subjective. Hope an admin isn't having a bad day:)

Exactly, mods are very experienced with those kind of situations. They already know what should or what not. Just respect them, they won’t waste time deleting your post just so you won’t feel welcome at all. They spend time to delete it for a reason that can benefit our community, and last time I checked, helping out a community this big is never a waste of time.

Yes it’s subjective. But isn’t it obvious if someone is really posting off topic posts about a thread. And likewise, posting pointless posts? I mean, of course mods are already experienced on what will and will not. Especially here in forums. Cause that’s what they do everyday right? So they will think every possible way to give consideration on what you’ve posted. Judgements are not there priority, what’s in it for them if they deleted your post for nothing.

Hey thanks for this post!  If I could just make one suggestion, whenever an admin/moderator would delete a post, I just hope they can specify the reason behind it, only when possible.  It will really be helpful for us newbies to know the specific mistake made so we can avoid it in the future.  I personally would really want to be able to make meaningful contribution to the forum, to the best that i can.  Thanks again!  :)

Wonderful Advises , Yes this is right give this forums an respect or should I say make this Forum Respectful. Some of the people now a days has no respect and dont care about other feelings. They are so selfish. They only cared about themselves. They want to get all the blessings and do not share it to others. But in God's eyes were are all equal. So , We must respect the newbie because like all of us we started being a newbie. And same as newbie respect the other higher rank than you . Respect to each others.

And also if Admins or higher rankers deleted you post do not feel unwelcome beacause they got their own reasons why did that.
